Doesn't Raynera have 3 sons, Joffery the infant? Well you can't expect much from anyone named Joffery but still ... If they just have dragons fighting each other, it may not be so imaginative, like Tyrion finding a way to win the Battle of Blackwater against superior forces or Night King turning one of the dragons. That was a shocking turn of events. So far, the HotD writers haven't shown any indication that they're capable of that kind of surprise.

So Amond strokes Vhagar a couple of times, mounts her and now she's his bitch? (no way he hangs on by that rope and survives, his hands would have been ripped up) Even female dragons prefer assholes? So this mystical bonding occurs and that's it, there's no such thing as Grand Theft Dragon? Everyone accepts that she's his now? I think it's a plot contrivance, because it would be a huge mismatch if the Alicent faction didn't have the biggest dragon of all on their side. Presumably GRRM wanted to make them a credible threat and he just gave the biggest chess piece on the board to them, to level the playing field, so to speak. Also, how the hell does Alicent hold the knife at the heir to the crown and not lose her head? Viserys doesn't have any Henry the 8th in him? Why would he have Otto back, when he's treasonous against Raynera? The only way to get Damon out of Switzerland and join Raynera's side is to fake Lanor's death and then incestuous marriage? Is Raynera going to give birth to more heir, pure Targaryean inbreds? Or is this marriage only for war alliance and "joy"? How would the war work? Raynera would be one of the dragon riders but Alicent doesn't ride, so Raynera would be fighting against her stepbrothers? And Damon against his nephews Agon and Amond?

Yeah Ursula's affair doesn't have the usual tropes, like Donal ignoring her, maybe being cruel, maybe being a drunk. And she's unwilling to cut it off, only coming up with, "I could lose the kids." Maybe she felt desired, wanted for the first time in however long. That she was willing to send sexts even though she's of a certain age is suppose to suggest she's over the moon? Or the affair is a convenient vehicle to show another example of JP's villainy and a motive for why Ursula would sign on to the plot. Seems like they didn't really game out this scenario.

What is $30k worth of travel suppose to prove. That if they can tolerate enough selfies in front of famous landmarks, stays inluxury hotels and nice restaurant meals together, then what? If Shep wants random hookups, wouldn't it be better if she's busy at work? They've been talking about this plan for several episodes, with Craig and Austen going on about how she will be financially dependent on him. So they've been talking about it for how long? Doesn't sound like some spontaneous, in-the-moment romantic gesture, like people eloping. Also interesting that only Craig and Austen weighed in. The women didn't at all, even Taylor's supposed friends. Well her best friends are probably not on the show.. Her parents would have opinions?

S20.E29: Masih Alinejad; Van Jones; Caitlin Flanagan

He’s going to die on the hill of defending Udoka? Reportedly she was married and when the affair ended, he made some unwelcome comments. The Celtics haven’t fired him yet but they said they’d be fine if some other team hired him, even though he’s under contract for several more years and had taken the team to the NBA Finals in his first year. That tells you he crossed some lines. A lot of people sleep with coworkers or people whom they meet through work. HR can’t prevent all such relationships — if they become relationships — but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some rules. The Celtics as well as many other private organizations have rules. Maybe Udoka wasn’t entirely aware of all of them but he’s acknowledged that he broke some rules. Team said he will lose a significant portion of his salary during his one-year sus pension, which could mean millions of lost income. Udoka isn’t suing the team so his behavior must have been egregious. Bill had the disclaimer that not all facts are known. But there are more things known or reported than he let’s on. Comparing Udoka and some unidentified woman to tHe Obamas is ridiculous. -
Which original cast members are left, Shep, Craig, Kathryn, Whitney, Patricia. It's slim pickings! Andy seems to like party bros.

Leva Nowroozyani Bonaparte: Battling the Windmill of Kathryn
aghst replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in Southern Charm
If she has so many successful restaurants, why is she fucking with reality TV? Did VPR vastly increase the net worth of what's her name or something? So she's going to let them film at her restaurant, must think there's a potential for lot more money if she's willing to risk disrupting operations, unless most of it is filmed in the back rooms and kitchens and the cast have very little interaction with restaurant clientele. I don't have a real strong opinion on Leva but if she beefs with that douche Craig, her impulses are probably right. However, there seems to be a lot of pretty vehement hate for her. I would hope it's not related to those season 7 episodes where she challenged Kathryn for the monkey emoji and in the wake of the George Floyd protests and the taking down of Confederate monuments. -

I've heard there is widespread theft in Brazil. Central America similar? Not sure but aren't there gated communities as well? In Buenos Aires, you see bars several floors up, so they wouldn't be trying to keep out monkeys. Not only that, some restaurants lock doors during the evenings so they let in patrons and lock the doors behind. If that was the case, wouldn't some SE Asian cities have similar issues? Maybe in places like Phuket? When there are high levels of poverty, you can expect petty crimes or worse. -
They dumped the whole season at once, while they usually release an episode a week for their other shows.
-
In any event, about $250 before taxes, probably $150-160k after taxes. Good amount of money but not necessarily life changing.
-
I don’t remember the parents or aunts at all, especially the mother and aunt with their petty rivalry. When Gloria drives off with grandad, stranding Earn and Jeanie you understand where Earn getting revenge on the TSA woman came from. Then Jeanie talks about Earn laying with that beautiful girl, having the daughter but making Van something? Whatever it was, a fucked up thing to say. Al didn’t want to be around JeanIe either and maybe Earn’s father wanted to be away from Gloria. ”Just brIng Us the fucking bread” outburst seemed inevitable.

But who else knew about the where the key to the locker was other than JP, Becka and the sisters? Also, if that was Minna who got locked into the freezer overnight, Becka would be looking morose in the present-day scenes, unless Minna somehow survived. Instead she's looking to jump Matthew's bones every chance she gets. Only 2 episodes left. At this point, they may show how JP died but they won't resolve the pursuit by the Claffins this season. Or maybe they don't even show JP's demise. Maybe the show runner is tempted to keep featuring the character and the actor who plays JP.

She didn't pick him up. The car service that the producers set up for the cast had them come together so they could shoot their convos in the car and also make an entrance together. In early seasons, I think they leased BMWs for cast members and they drove together on their own.

I would have liked to have seen Craig trash-talk Naomi and Pat about being down on his sewing and now he's a big success. They'd probably have a good comeback about how he's selling some junk to groupies of the show but it's not going to last.

House Hunters International - General Discussion

Dublin guy doesn't have an office? Hmm, he did say he needed an office. But why move if he's working remotely. He said he took a cut in pay and the cost of living is higher in Dublin than in Dallas. OK, easy trips to Europe is a big plus. But otherwise, he could do the same job in Dallas and maybe save up more money. Though airfare costs more from the US and he wouldn't' be able to do weekend trips like he could from Dublin. -
It's like less than an hour from Munich to the Austrian border. They didn't go to Salzburg but the drive from Munich to Austria is on this 3 or 4 lane highway and there's no slowing down, you just cross the border without thinking about it. However, cars from outside of Austria need to get a vignette or sticker which covers the cost of what would otherwise be toll roads. Presumably TAR already set up the cars with these because they didn't stop. I once drove from Munich to Austria and right before I crossed the border, I pulled over to a gas station to buy the vignette for my rental car.

Party organizer tells Craig she wants assigned seating to avoid drama. So of course the show and Craig were not going to have assigned seating except he decides to assign people to seats as they sat down. I don't for one moment believe this was Craig's party. Bravo paid for that shit and probably wanted drama from the seating and getting people slighted. Why did he get mad that Leva was talking to the people at the other table? She apparently knew them. He was smiling while telling her to leave. He knew it was a ridiculous scenario, this fabricated fight. Some woman pointed out Leva was at the other table but they probably dubbed it in in post because they didn't show the person saying those words. That was the cue for Craig to throw her out. Surprised they had food for them, why not conveniently run out and give them the kids menu for more BS drama? What a coincidence, every one of their end of season parties have some kind of fights, yelling, etc. Yeah I'm sure this "friend group" really sticks together through it all. Can't be the Bravo pay checks right? Can't be that they agree to film fights and arguments on the show? Did they really go on that trip or did they mock up fake IG shots? He probably tells them I'm a reality show star because of scenes like that. Look at my big paychecks from Bravo! He was smirking as he threw Leva out, because he was playing the role they wanted him to play. Can't have a Southern Charm finale without drama.

Interesting episode about hooliganism, wow 39 people killed at that one match. Also that couple, she loses a job because her bf has a police record from violence at matches and she doesn’t want a child from him. The other episode, Ryan and Rob has to decide whether to keep the manager and buy a striker. Rob isn’t happy to invite all his Philly friends for a watch party only to see a 0-0 game. But they get hot, rise to 3rd in the table so Ryan and Rob spend more money in the January transfer window.

JP is not a killer but he might let you die. He certainly lies easily and does it plausibly so people like Gerald and Gabriel believe him. The freezing him to death plot is the dumbest one yet. Someone has to lock him in the freezer so it’s going to raise all kinds of suspicion. Becka has been in that house a lot and left fingerprints all over the basement, on that key, inside the freezer. Then the sister probably left fingerprints, hair, clothes fibers down there too. If not her the suspicion would fall to Minna, which Becka wouldn’t want either. They ruled out turning him in too easily. Maybe Grace would still stand by him, wait for him, but turning him in would still be better than murder. JP makes enemies all the time, getting punched by both Gabriel and Ben. Roger and Blanid were giving him the evil eye too, this ep. How is it that he keeps getting away with the lies? Or that he hasn’t gotten a bigger beating?

Hmm, I don't recall the circumstances around Serena losing her finger. Many of these women were educated so incredible that they accede to this BS. In reality, there would be all kinds of demonstrators outside the Gilead cultural center about what happens to Handmaids and women in general in Gilead.
-
Gilead doesn't allow women to read? Serena and Lydia and other women were all literate before Gilead. Maybe they don't teach newborns or those girls who hadn't entered school when Gilead became a thing? Or are you suggesting that even women know how to read are no longer permitted to read?
-
It's not about the babies. That's what the Commanders use to gaslight the women in Gilead.

Several teams came back from various parts of the leg. The dancers and people used to performing thrived on this leg but the people who struggled allowed the order to flip on both tasks. It was difficult for teams without music and dance backgrounds. As someone noted, having all the tasks in the leg give advantage to people who had experience performing is somewhat unfair.

That’s what Moira and Luke tell June but they’re enabling her in a way, not being frank with her. Truth is she needs psychiatric help. If she’s not suffering from PTSD, it’s violent impulses. But it seems they’re trying to write it as righteous rage, like a female version of a Liam Neeson revenge movie, killing scores of men which is alright because he’s rescuing his daughter. The exposition is clumsy too, a montage June and Luke having sex while Serena is being driven to some sanctuary, all to the tune of Fleetwood Mac or some tribute band singing Fleetwood Mac. What do these scenes have to do with each other? June and Luke are kissing each other’s bullet wounds — ooh sexy — while Serena is going to some remote mansion?

Yeah reforming the Handmaiden system is absurd. Are they going to stop the rapes or the forced births? Oh is Lydia not going to cut out eyes and clitorises of those who refuse to perform tHe Handmaid duties? Or not threaten to send them to the Colonies? The women who are true believers in Gilead are being duped. Has nothing to do with God or some Sacred purpose, it’s about serving up young nubile women to the Commanders, as one flashback depicted the men high-fiving each other about the Ceremony and how they could get their wives to accept it.
