How is the check damning? The oblivious old woman wrote Becka a check which she didn't even try to cash. Thomas thinks the check shows Becka needs money so since the check is no good, ergo she must be after the insurance money? The insurance money goes to Grace and there's no indication she'd give any to Becka or anyone else. JP thinks someone is trying to kill him, does he suspect the sisters? If he really believed someone was trying to kill him, Ursula would be one choice since he's blackmailing her. He throws Eva under the bus, referring to her drinking problem. Well they're at some restaurant and Eva is peeved that there's no alcohol served at the establishment, doesn't want anything. Blanid is at that age where a child might be disillusioned by a parent especially the way she sees her father gaslight her mother and this episode, getting physical with Becka.

Well they finally made it over to Wrexham. They were treated like the Beatles or something. Guess celebrity goes a long way, with that one boy saying he used to be a Liverpool fan until Deadpool bought the club. Probably sold a lot of merchandise but the club didn’t get the results they needed. Wonder how long the charm offensive lasts if the club is stuck for a couple of years, with losses being £1 million each year.

I don't think the problem with Gilead having normalized relationships with other countries is an issue of PR. They conquered a legitimate country and then instituted rape, coercion and various forms of slave labor on people or they kidnapped people who didn't opt to be citizens of this country. What kind of PR is going to paper over all that?

I think we've had discussions about whether they should just let them use phones. They obviously ask onlookers to borrow phones all the time. Sure with phones they almost eliminate the possibility of getting lost. But is the race more about navigation or is it about performing on tasks?
-
He said he dropped 50 pounds for the race.. He must be doing it for his partner and for the fun, because it's unlikely that splitting a million, after taxes, would be as meaningful to him as the others.

Nymphenburg is kind of out of the way, some distance from the old town center, which is the main draw. I think I took a S or U Bahn and then a bus or walk to get to it and I arrived there kind of late in the afternoon, there weren't many people. Like I said it wasn't just there, there were onlookers at the task stations, especially the barrel roll place, actually cheering them on. Maybe they had big TV camera trucks or something which drew a lot of people. Also they didn't blur out faces of these people so they must all have consented to have themselves appear on the show. We've seen the show attract onlookers before but this leg seemed especially noticeable.
-
Were they right that the pit stop was near the park where they did the barrel roll. I think navigation played a big factor. Also, onlookers everywhere, including the start. Looked like most of the teams asked onlookers to look up places on their phones. And the onlookers were American? As far as the teams, we will probably hear over the course of the season how the prize money Is so important to them. But pretty sure Rex Ryan should have millions already and the girl who works for Microsoft, if she’s been in her job for 5 years or more could already be a millionaire as well.

First thing I noticed was, those are huge hospital suites. For hand maiden, who are pretty low in Gilead society. Gilead has better health care than the US! Serena was definitely putting the moves on Lawrence. For a supposedly religious woman, she had some worldly wiles. Lawrence just isn't interested in sex? Last season or the season before, it looked like Gilead was on a warpath, sick of Americans hiding out in Canada. Hell this Mayday group could be a provocation if they crossed into Gilead and did some kind of damage and ran back across the border. Now Gilead wants to strengthen relations with the rest of the world, have a global ambassador? Of course they could renege on all the money they promised Serena. Gilead's ideology is that they won't accommodate or compromise with nations which aren't true believers. We see entities like that in real life, not interested in making peace with you, not interested in coexistence, they will conquer you with force, not ideas. In fact MacKenzie talking about cutting out the cancer that is June Osborn sounded like they might try to assassinate June, wherever she is. Of course killing her in Canada would be an act of war. Where did all these sympathizers of Gilead and Serena come from? If they love Gilead so much, why don't they go back instead of living in Toronto? Those women were in tears over Serena. I'd like to say maybe they were getting their hands burned from holding the candles but no, I think they were just loony. Also, what a security breach, June knew where and when Serena was returning and so did those self-hating women.

Or the producers told them to make a big deal out of it. With Shep possibly agreeing, so that they could have some drama for the show. If they're best buds as the show depicts them, would they really meddle into Shep's business like that, even if he is being a heel and not treating Taylor well? I don't think they'd outright confront him about it, certainly not in public. They might pull him aside but they wouldn't do it on a TV show, especially a damn Bravo reality show. Or Austen shedding crocodile tears to Taylor because "Shep isn't worth of you." Come on if Shep was half serious about Taylor, he'd consider that intrusive and possibly trying to sabotage the relationship. I can see close girlfriends or family members of Taylor pulling her aside, staging an intervention to get her to dump Shep. But again, they sue damn wouldn't do it on TV. How often do people get judge-y about other people's relationships in real life? And to do it in such a public way?

By the time Agon would be old enough to rule, Otto would be decrepit. So how does it benefit him? Just the satisfaction that his blood now goes through the royal line?
-
IIRC, she saw a studio space available and seemed to think it might not be available later.
-
I think it's mostly Harper, she's from there. As we saw with her brother, there's some family dysfunction. If there's another season, they might go more into her past, including her life back in America before she came to London. Eric would have to move his family there so he's reluctant.

House Hunters International - General Discussion

Atlanta to Haifa. Fun couple really embracing the move to Israel, open to adopting new cuisine. They’ve traveled before and asked for contribUtions to their fund for moving abroad instead of traditional wedding gifts. They prioritized view so it was the more expensive of the final two choices, also longer commute. But it was a nice terrace, showed them taking their meal outside like many people who eat in front of their TVs. Thought it was interesting that the realtor cited the number of bedrooms and living room instead of number of bathrooms. So apartments with more than one living room are not uncommon in Israel? -
Other firms, especially Daria, wouldn't feed him inside information. Nor do anything shady. Funny thing is these banks spend a lot of money to have research done about different industries, analyze financial statements and balance sheets. But on these show, they saw them more as salespeople and didn't present any research to clients, they just offered trades which would be profitable but nothing having to do with business fundamentals and so forth.
-
Yeah but that is The Challenge, there has never been any transparency, certainly no consistency. There's no proof they manipulate results but this isn't a sporting event, though they claimed one season it's the fifth American team sports. It's a TV show and they will do whatever they think will get them ratings and keep the show on the air.
-
It doesn't have boffo ratings like Succession or House of the Dragon or White Lotus or Euphoria. And with Zaslav in charge, it may not get renewed. If it isn't renewed, hope that Apple TV + would sign up the creators of this show but Apple is trying to be family-oriented so they probably never would have put on a show like Industry. Maybe they can create a PG-13 show for the big Apple money.

Jesse doesn't trust Harper. He'll use her for inside information but he doesn't trust her. Even if he hasn't seen Harper double-cross her colleagues, he knows she's a snake. That is why he's filthy rich and the other characters are not.

I think Eric always had the transcripts in his back pocket. But he saw that if she could stab DVD and Rishi in the back, why wouldn't she do the same to him eventually? Like I said, he pulled the trigger before she could.
-
Rob did go to Oxford. But I forget what happened with him in season 1. He fits the profile of the people these banks hire more than Yasmin or Harper though.
-
So many betrayals, hard to keep count. Harper pesters Gus like a chihuahua, finally gets him to tell her what she wanted to know. I don't think Bloom could move markets or governments like that. There are billionaires who go on CNBC every day, with their agendas. They might make a tiny bit of movement but nothing like depicted here. Why would the UK govt. be bothered by some American hedge fund guy telling them how they should handle a potential merger? But Aurore is happy, she moves up to a cabinet post, dumps Gus, who lands on his feet so he can take off on Jesse's private jet to NY. Harper and Eric are ready to stick a knife in the back of DVD and Rishi and Harper thinks she's fucking Rishi over. Little did she know. Eric always had the undergraduate degree thing n his back pocket. He struck first before she could. Figures that the firm will use that to fire Harper rather than the insider trading, because that transaction made the firm a lot of money and if they fired Harper over it, they might invite regulatory scrutiny. Yasmin, lived rent-free in her father's in a multimillion dollar home in central London, used his bank accounts. But she didn't think she could alienate her POS father. She really had to try both doors and call him to find out? Somehow I don't think daddy's girl would ever call him out like that in public -- or anywhere else. She can't be oblivious about what Celeste would do, given a choice between her father and her. And he was even more blunt, she had average grades in a middling university so how did she think she got a job at Pierpoint in the first place? Well she tried to forge her own path, or thought she was. But that path includes batting her eyelashes at Rob to score her some coke, even though she's homeless and broke. I hope there's another season. It would suck if most of the men landed on their feet but the two lead female characters end up dumped out into the cold streets. Daria lost her job at Pierpoint trying to do the right thing. Then she landed an even better job at Yankee. You would think she might be an example for Harper and Yasmin or at least a model for pursuing a different path than the ones they've been following?

Kyle said he gave 2% so that’s an admission of slacking. But he and Nat snipe at each other in a joking way. He also observed that she suppresses or avoids emotions, probably right. Also Kyle: “Can’t believe I spent more time on my knees cleaning floors than s—-ing c—-s.” Jason would rather bail than admit he needs to change or pretend to make up with Storm and the other deckies. Someone made a crack about coming all the way to Malta to do something but can’t recall the whole line. As far as pantry gate, probably needed to be cleaned up and Tash and Kyle have been slacking. But guessing previous crews didn’t clean up what could be hidden behind cabinet doors, as they’re usually busy fulfilling all the fake asks from the guests, like theme parties, performances, beach picnics, etc.

I don't mean pulling June away from the car against her will. I mean getting to the driver's door first and preventing her from getting in the car. If she got violent to move him out of the way, don't fight her but at least try to dissuade her from driving away to meet those other hardcore maids, though he probably didn't know where she planned to go.

Didn't Viserys choose Raynera as his heir long before he married Alicent? And he's repeatedly said he's not changing his succession plan. So why does Otto and now Alicent object? Otto isn't just saying there will be opposition to a woman ascending to the Iron Throne. It sounds like he will be one of the leaders of that opposition.
-
How much older are they suppose to be, like in their 30s? Raynera will have children?

Rhea seemed like she could have been an awesome character but Ryan Condal said her death was a brief sentence in the books. So they made a short movie to give a sense of her character or a sense or what she could have been. She speaks bluntly to Damon, taunts him. But she also ditches her cousin who offered to go hunting with her. She might still be alive if she agreed to let him come with her. Girl might have been a little dramatic, a little high maintenance.
