  1. To be fair, when he looked thru the window, he could see that they were both that snowy CGI stuff... so he then had to admit that the baby wasn't human. I gather that if you are far enough along in the Kinship infection, that others can see this rather than just seeing it in the mirror? Lily's Dad seems to be visible to all? Did Jim agree to the 'kill the dormant Kinship' part? I seem to remember that he was sort of speechless about that part of it, and then Lily ran off. If you really believed that dormant is dormant and not cured, I guess that you wouldn't really have a choice? I, however, think they are cured.... because the actively infected are just way too submissive and cardboard-like for the infection to just go dormant and remain that way for long. Interesting how Christine can barely stand upright or walk during the episode, but she somehow becomes well after the birth of the Queen - will she just decide to sit down and die (she did say she WAS going to die after the new Queen came, right? Please let that be soon, I normally like this actress.... but this character is such a waste of her acting skills.
  2. Illinois is indeed broke to the point that our social service agencies (real ones) haven't gotten paid for months, poor college students haven't gotten their state grants, developmentally disabled people haven't gotten their benefits, child care subsidies are not being paid for low-income parents unless they are under the poverty rate. The state does not have a current budget because the new Governor is in a power mad struggle to get his personal agenda passed, so he is sitting on the budget process. There is no way Josh will qualify for assistance because no money has been appropriated to pay for fiscal 2016 bills. This place sounds very similar to the construction company where Josh worked before, wrapped up in the scam guise of a treatment center. A real treatment center is not going to expect 8 hours of work a day except for the work of therapy and self-analysis sessions etc. He needs real therapy, and guidance to allow him to choose a religion that gibes with his actual beliefs and practices. He needs guidance is what is really improper, frowned upon by actual counselors vs what Gothard says is acceptable or frowned upon. What a mess. We all knew the Duggar empire would fall upon human failings. It's fallen farther than most of us predicted. The only good thing about this is that 18 other siblings now know that their family isn't better than anyone else, isn't really doing things different than other sinners, and look, Josh didn't even get shunned. JD flew him to treatment and Mom and Dad are still making public statements on his behalf. So, all 18 of you, it's a free for all... sin to your hearts content.
  3. We've moved from Jane being in Maura's kitchen before work, to Maura being in Jane's living room before work. Do they share one car - because it appeared that Jane was expecting Maura to take her to work. Does Frankie ride with them? Boston is a big town, is Frankie's on Maura's way. If so, then Jane must have lived outside of town to have Maura's be on her way before. Who dreams up these filler scenes? So which former perp or boyfriend is Jane's hacker?
  4. I actually think the 40 days after birth for a boy and 80 if a girl is for this: Someone in biblical times noticed men were more likely to get a son after a daughter if they waited longer for sex. They wouldn't have understood why, but they could have observed it. Therefore, they made up the rule. Similar to the rule that says 'don't eat pork because it is unclean'. In recent times, it's been proven that sperm containing the male gene swim slower and are more fragile than sperm containing the female gene. So, waiting may build up the supply of male sperm, increasing the likelihood of a son. if you already a son, maybe they thought your swimmers were healthy enough. Pork has since been proven to contain bad stuff if it is not cooked enough or not kept cold.
  5. I would like to see Miles O'Brien do it. However, my guess is that it will end up being Chris Cuomo. Which means I won't watch because he can't stop talking long enough to let his guests speak.... plus he tells them his opinion as if it is the only correct one. I already don't watch once Anderson's hour is done now.
  6. I don't think Anna will leave.. at least not just yet. I think she will be expected to attend counseling with Josh and his parents. After all Jim Bob and Michelle did the pre-marital counseling for Jill and Derick, and Jessa and Ben (and, ewww, is all I can say). Both sets of in-laws will be breathing down the couples' necks telling them how to behave as they already do 24/7. Then she will somehow be expected to continue raising 4 children, popping out new ones every couple years, be the perfect housewife and helpmeet.... and she will now be expected to add S*X kitten. She will not be encouraged to leave because marriage is 'sacred' never mind what one party did. For those that say 'but her sisters'... the one sister was married, and her husband got to call the shots. If he wanted to be less fundy, then that was ok. She was supposed to follow along. Anna's brother took a lot of heat when he and his wife became fundy-lite because it was considered disobeying his father. As for the unmarried single Mom sister, I doubt she is going to counsel Anna to leave with 4 children under 6. Unless Jim Bob is going to support Anna for the next 21 years....
  7. I really don't care that Josh was on dating sites. Anna may care, if she didn't agree to it in the first place. Her parents may care because it's not what they wanted in a husband for their daughter. Jim Bob and Michelle care because their money grubbing reality tv days are over. I just think it is amazing to me that Josh fell into the same trap a lot of other fundie men fall into: They really really are not attracted to women who wear frumpy clothes because they are cheap and because that is what everyone else in their church thinks they should wear. They really would like to see a little leg, and cleavage on their wives, and some lingerie too. They really would like to see R rated movies, and TV shows where dating and s*x are considered normal. They really would like to talk to their wives without 19 kids whining and fussing and reading Barney every night. None of those wishes are abnormal.... except in their odd little fundie world. So then they are stuck with accountability partners and courtships and 5000 other things to pretend that men aren't men. This is what happens. Just once I would like a couple to stand up to their parents and say - this is silly.... God doesn't care about any of this. I want them to say we will do x and x to help others because we are paying forward God's grace.... but these rules won't get me into heaven so we will decide what we consider ok - not you.
  8. I don't find either of these two likable. Joshua appears perfectly happy to return merchandise (meaning he goes to the store shelf, picks it up, and carries it and his 'borrowed' receipt to the cash register). It's people like him that have caused us to all have to fill out forms when we return items for cash. They check a database to see how often you've done returns. I haven't finished the episode, but you have to want to change - he doesn't appear to want to. Erin may really feel guilty about her son, but she's all about herself. I realize she (and many of other addicted people) was abused as a child. But, she is NOT a child now, she is a Mom. It's been 25 years since that abuse. Time for her to move past it. I feel that you can't let episodes from your childhood ruin the rest of your life. Using it as a reason to be addicted is doing just that. The abuser wins.
  9. Why is it that shows in their final season just wander all over the map for most of the season, and don't get anywhere until the last episode or two? We've seen the collaborator plot several times now. They needed this season to bring the story to a close not just wander around with Fight Club. I love how Cochise has information that he holds close to his vest until he is directly asked about it. Is he afraid he will alter the course of history if he offers any info? Why did they bring Isabella into this season - why not offer an existing 2nd mass member that we haven't seen - it's obvious there is several warm bodies somewhere.
  10. 4 episodes and counting after the one in which Suzie dies - and not one mention of her after the dance party. I read somewhere that the actress was told Suzie was being killed off so the show could explore grief. Funny way of exploring it. Besides which the show just explored the he*l out of grief when Barry Frost died. Yes, I know that was driven by the actor's death.... but they still incorporated it into the show and spent some time very episode of the season on it. Every episode we are shown Maura doing work that Suzie would have done, yet not one mention that they are short a tech. Even a throwaway line would be better than nothing. Meanwhile, we have Tomboy Jane whirling around in a fringed jacket as if she is a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader. Please tell me again why Jane's homeowners insurance isn't paying for her to rent an apartment and buy furniture, clothing, and personal items? Glad to see an actual Keiki. Trying to figure out what time they all got off work, if Maura had time to discuss this with Angela, hang out there and then go to a lecture. Is anyone else speculating that we lost Suzie for one of the following reasons (in no particular order of guessing): 1 A recurring character that is more popular than some of the regular characters - did someone get jealous? 2. Did the actress demand a raise? 3. Did the actress or her manager become difficult to get along with? 4. Did the actress suddenly become unavailable (we all know this one is not it)
  11. They seem to be finding more long term addicts whose bridges with their families have been long burned. At first, I couldn't decide whether to dislike his parents or totally understand they had given up a long time ago. It was amazing that the neighbor hadn't given up yet. By the end of the episode, I had decided the family had done everything they could. His 62 day turnaround was amazing. However, the therapist indicated he was still having paranoia. Wonder if he will ever be normal.
  12. I am almost glad that they have the plane to talk about (no disrespect to the families). The all Trump coverage was very annoying. Just because he allows interviews doesn't mean he should have them daily. I'm sure there is some actual news to cover somewhere.
  13. For those of you that remember my post a couple weeks ago about Jane's apartment.... I had no prior knowledge, I swear. But at least we will now have a valid reason to see Jane in Maura's kitchen before breakfast every single work morning.
  14. Well. there you go. Hunter made such a poor impression on me that I didn't even remember his name properly.
  15. ByTor I believe the characters' full name is either Hunter Tyler or maybe Tyler Hunter. It's been so long since we've heard it that I have forgotten, and quite possibly, no longer care.
  16. It does make sense.... as long as you don't remember any of the last two seasons. You know, the two sets of 4 hands, the Monarch when the Monarch meant Angie or Julia, the need for the egg to use Nori's dead Mom to make conversation, the tunnel that led to the park, how every one could handle the intact egg without getting infected as Christine did,the Police Chief dying, etc. Remember, the dome came down when Christine was infected, and she magically went underground.... so there wasn't the need for any of the last two seasons abnormalities to take place.
  17. Last night's Seventies episode - I'd forgotten how the women's lib movement was so closely 'related' to the sexual revolution - at least in the Male mind. I've always considered them two different things. Women's lib was about so much more than whether or not you were a 'good girl' even if you chose to have sex.
  18. Refresh my memory.... doesn't Angela live in the GUESTHOUSE? Why isn't she entertaining her cousin there rather than in Maura's main house? Why isn't Jane visiting her Mom there rather than in Maura's main house? How does Angela even know when Jane is there to come over to the main house to visit? Of course, that wouldn't give Jane and Maura reasons to be in the same room every off work minute possible. Why don't they just have Jane move into Maura's with an explanation of her apartment being condemned and she doesn't have time to hunt up another one? Not that I want to see them, but where is Tommy, Lydia and the grandbaby? Must we have 15 new characters every week?
  19. So, Anthony is taking Weaver hostage?
  20. Yes, Tom cares about his boys that he raised from birth more than he seemed to care about Lexi - an alien child who he saw briefly as a baby, then again at age 6, and then as an adult. She was so far out of his comfort zone that he never got the chance to develop normal feelings for her. He cares deeply about Ann, who doesn't care at all about his boys. She barely even acknowledges they exist as anything other than militia members. She has no other family left, she could at least pretend to care about her step-children than she has known for several years now. Weaver is supposed to lead the militia, but defers to Tom about anything other than combat. I did not recognize Pope with a shaved head, and found him creepier than normal. He's never been a stand-up guy, always a renegade (remember the Bezerkers?), wants to be the boss, but never wants to actually lead into combat. He's always been there for comic relief. Cochise seemed perfectly healthy a week ago. Kidney failure doesn't happen that fast does it? Not to a species that can self-heal from surgery within minutes?
  21. The Seventies is a great show. I've only watched a few episodes, but I enjoy looking back at those times from a historical perspective. I was 21 when that decade ended so its been amazing seeing those news items again. The best part - no one sermonizing to us while it plays. The commentary is informational, and lets you make up your own mind. One thing I have noticed is how that old saying is right: History repeats itself.
  22. Yes, Norrie is the most entertaining human character this season. Dog is great. . In terms of the egg and the infection. They didn't know if an intact egg would cause an infection.... they only had shards. They said touching the shards caused the infection. That seems to be what has happened here.... remember the piece of the egg that was on Christine's window. No one seemed infected by the intact egg.
  23. The actress was featured in a recent article in Kiplingers. It was an interesting financial perspective. She's not rich, so I hope she has something else upcoming.
  24. What the..... I hope this is because the actress has a new better gig somewhere
  25. So Julia was going to be the new Monarch, but Christine is the one that was in the 'Queen' cocoon? Julia was the dome's savior, but now Melanie is attempting to kill her at Christine's direction? Meanwhile, the only person that was in the cocoon and didn't believe the nonsense was killed - Ben? Is the egg bi-polar or schitzo? what was the whole purpose of the 4 hands if Christine and Eva were already in the dome and were the queen and her subject? It is like Lost, someone had to change direction in the middle and they don't care about continuity. And, just like lost, they ruined the whole thing.
