  1. Loved this episode! At first, I was wondering who these people were and how it ties together, and by the end, I was wowed! Rebecca's father was pretty awful, but Jack didn't give up.
  2. It's all good. We have both Wildcats and Jayhawks in abundance in our family, including KU grads who went on to graduate from Vet school at KSU, and KSU grads who graduated Law school from KU. Me, I finished at Washburn in Topeka.
  3. I attended a land grant college/university, Kansas State, and knew what they were from a young age.
  4. Some of this first episode was pretty funny. However it edged a bit too close to stalkerish behavior, and also the trope “man pursued woman who is not interested until she gives in” just isn’t funny in the age of Me Too. That said, I’ll probably watch again; I like the main characters.
  5. From Wikipedia: “Big Ben is the nickname for the Great Bell of the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London, and is usually extended to refer to both the clock and the clock tower.” So replying Big Ben isn’t incorrect as the clue referred to the chimes on the BBC.
  6. I agree with @possibilities, plus I don't find Grover to be a necessary character. On the other hand, Old Miss Kim is an interesting character, even if she's a stereotype.
  7. I got FJ, and for whig’s wig, I knew peruke. Thanks, Colonial Williamsburg! They have the peruke maker as well as the mantua maker.
  8. Oh, yes, I forgot - I was yelling OUTLANDER! also.
  9. My Jeopardy! calendar for 2020 arrived this week. So happy!
  10. Week 2: 2/5, 1* YTD: 6/10, 1* Edited to add: the J! Archive site is now up-to-date!
  11. I thought of iodine, not that other stuff. I got fj though!
  12. At home, we had tinker toys, but at grandma's we had Lincoln logs and an erector set. Tinker toys and Lincoln logs were wood, and the erector set was metal. We also had Mr. Potato Head at home that used real potatoes (that we had to supply ourselves) with the plastic pieces. That was one game that Dad would play with us. He also played Chutes and Ladders with us sometimes. He farmed, so in the winter he had more time at home. Good memories.
  13. I got Centennial. I've read some of Michener's books, although not that one; his writing is wonderful. I also knew Ground Fault. We had some electrical problems a number of years ago that boiled down to a GFCI that was faulty. As for FJ, I guessed Lego; DH thought Rubik's Cube. Imagine my surprise that his answer was correct!
  14. Is there any way to see J!6 for Sept. 12 (yesterday)?
  15. Yay! I googled and found it! Ordered from the official Jeopardy site!
  16. I want to get a page-a-day style Jeopardy! calendar for 2020. I didn't see one on their website. Am I too early in the season, or any ideas on where I could find one? I failed to find one for 2019 last year.
  17. I knew Jane Austen. I have a copy of the book paired with one by Dickens. Also knew The Howling. FJ was easy-peasy. I was 12, so the perfect age to be a Beatles fan.
  18. I knew The Help and Melissa McCarthy. I saw Can You Ever Forgive Me? on the plane to London in July. Good movie! And The Help was the last movie my sister-in-law saw on tv before she died later that night. She had terminal cancer. What was the Thunderbird clue - was it one of the car ones?
  19. It's me again. The hurricane missed us. We had a little extra wind & rain today, but nothing like in North Carolina or even Virginia Beach. Looking forward so much to Season 36 on Monday!
  20. Yay! Tourney is over! I'm all a-quiver, waiting for Monday!
  21. I saw this yesterday, and, as the best movies do, led me to think about it. Many meaningful moments as well. What’s the cathartic moment, or where can I find where Ms. Wang discussed it? Any thoughts about the symbolism of the bird, and especially how it got into her hotel room? I wasn’t sure I wanted to see this, but I am so glad I did!
  22. I watched this over the past few weeks on netflix, and I’ve read through the episode posts. This was a fascinating tale. In episode 6, following the hypnosis scenes, there was a sex scene. I couldn’t tell for sure who was involved. Was it Dr. Jordan and the landlady? I didn’t understand the purpose of the scene, unless to explain why Jordan signed up to be in the American Civil War. Did anyone understand it and can explain?
