Just fyi: Season 3 has already been filmed/completed - and it is the final season. (I know some here know this, but I just became aware today - so thought I would share.) Disappointing - to me - because it means no chance of 'smoldering Sidney' OR 'sexy, smiling Stringer' returning...... sigh 😞. I'm hoping one of Charlotte's new suitors will grow on me, because as of now, neither one appeals to me! But who ever it turns out to be, it's already a done deal. As far a Clara's baby, chances are good she could die in childbirth - not uncommon for those times. And Esther is in 'baby mode' - so she may see this as fate in her desire for motherhood. However, if the child is really Edward's, it could be complicated & messy for her.

I knew there would be much delight on this board: Charlotte's hair is.....UP!!!! Again: LOVED Esther's classic eye roll moment! Hope she continues to 'ice' Edward! (But what a hideous dress she was in at the end of the episode!) I am a Charlotte fan & don't like either suitor for her: something off about Lennox (not sure what) & the recluse dad is kind a boring dud - at least so far. May change. (Yes - I'm still a Sidney fan - no matter how slim the chances 😢) Cannot figure out yet where they are going w/Georgiana, Arthur & Lockhart........

I know I'm in the minority here, but I don't get TOO hung up on the details & enjoy the show. The hair not being up is no biggie for me, although - for that era - it should probably be longer. I didn't care for Sidney in the beginning either, but he grew on me & I got to like him w/Charlotte. VERY disappointed that the actor didn't come back. As a once rabid soap opera watcher, I am holding out a (very)faint hope for a mistaken-identity/return-from-the-dead surprise! I'd have been OK w/young Stringer too. (what are the odds - both were unavailable!) I liked Tom Weston-Jones in 'Copper' a few years ago but not sure about him yet on Sanditon. I'm willing to watch & see what happens.

Nope! No matter WHAT - Jess wouldn't be alive because TPTB had decided to kill him off! Only started watching the show recently - kind of by default - & I knew Julian McMahon was leaving but didn't really think it would end like that!!!

JMO: I seriously doubt NCIS- or MOST places of employment - would EVER assign a parent to be their child's superior! And the reasons 'why' were totally evident through out last night's episode!

Nothing against Stephen Cree - I really do like the actor - but I wish they had cast Gallowglass better. Nothing about the character on TV is as described in the books! Well, other than the Scottish accent. And Matthew Goode is no Matthew de Clermont - but I really liked him as Mary's beau/husband Henry in Downton Abbey!

For those who are wondering, the animal stories & anecdotes are the majority of the books. We do get to know the human characters, too but they are secondary. The original series was much closer to the books and - IMO - better than the current show.

Anyone else hoping that 'Sanditon' does SO well in season 2 that a season 3 could maybe lure back a favorite (or two) from the first season? 😇

As a huge fan of the books & the first TV series, I don't know why the-powers-that-be thought they could improve on the original - they have NOT! JMHO. It isn't terrible, just more like a soap opera then the heart-warming, amusing books by James Herriot. Again, JMO.

No cable right now - will SyFy show the episodes?

I haven't started watching season 3 yet, but from what I'm reading here, it seems like it will be quite different from the 3rd book - interesting! And I'm in the process of re-rereading book 2 & enjoying it so much more than the first time I read it!

I was a huge fan of the books & really enjoyed the original series. As I watch the new series, I find myself saying: "That wasn't in the books" or "No - that's not what happened". I will keep watching, but I don't understand why changes were needed.

Just re-watched the pilot & noticed a 'Fonzie type' ghost - never saw him again. Anyone know what what happened to him?

The best part was the Christmas sweaters that kept getting more & more & MORE 'Christmas-y'!

In my opinion, the 4th book was really, really boring - found it nearly impossible to connect w/Marcus and Phoebe. The only parts I liked were catching up with Diana and Matthew's family.

New to the TV series & this board, but a fan of the first 3 books for years! LOVED the 1st book, struggled through the first half of the 2nd book - but enjoyed second half - but the 3rd book was my favorite! Starting to re-read them as I watch season 2. There are all kinds of details in the books that aren't on TV, but make the show easier to understand. I do prefer the books, but think they have done a good job bringing it 'to life'. I do like Matthew Goode, but he wouldn't be in my top choices for 'Vampire Matthew'. Really like Theresa Palmer as Diana & think she does a good job. Conversely, (as an Outlander book fan) LOVE Sam Heughan as Jamie & just OK with Caitríona Balfe as Claire. We can always hope there will be another book about Diana & Matthew... and their family!

Can't wait for season 2!!!!! 💫

I still think Gibbs may put in a occasional - ok: VERY occasional - appearance. Maybe sailing into a port near Washington DC in his 'new' rebuilt boat... all the way from Alaska!

Emily VanCamp & Matt Czuchry are the reasons I started watching in the first place: LOVED her from 'Revenge' & him from 'Gillmore Girls'. I still think the first season into the second was the best - hasn't been quite as good (to me) since. I wasn't happy when the actress who plays Mina left last year - even though it was her choice. And I know EVC also chose to leave too, but I think I'm done with the show. At least for now. I can always change my mind & binge it later. And 'Mina' is NOT dead - so that could lure me back too.

You all seem very sure Gibbs/Harmon won't be back at all, but this is from an article in 'People' today: "Gibbs' goodbye may not be forever, however. Trista - what a class act!!! I was SOOO invested the first season of the Bachelor that when I heard Alex & Amanda broke up (what - like a month or two later?) I was devastated!! 😭 LOL - I vowed never to watch again! And I didn't watch season 2. BUT! Then they had Trista as the Bachlorette & I was hooked again. I haven't watched for many seasons, but I was very addicted for a LOT of years.
