In that Celeb Talk Guy video, she says that she came on the show to increase her sales, and her business has doubled. She also swore off any future TV show ("never in a million years"). Of course, consider the source. . .

Her decision still bothers me. Maybe she thought that Defendant was sexy, too, so she decided for him. Or, she just wanted to use her soundbite, "Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug." Part of her justification was that Plaintiffs were veteran Sneakerheads (although she is completely unaware of that well-established culture). But, so was Defendant for at least 6 months. She also said that Defendant didn't purport the sneakers to be authentic - but, he implied as much in his ad, since he advertised them without qualification otherwise on a website possibly geared for these sales. (I wonder if it has any buyer protections that the Plaintiffs could have pursued.) And, finally, Defendant said that he used a UV light when he originally bought them a few days earlier, but Judge Judy didn't ask how his UV light could show that they were authentic, when Plaintiffs' UV light showed they were fakes. She also ignored the competing accounts about if Defendant offered Plaintiffs his UV light to inspect the sneakers at the time of purchase. I actually wanted to hear the authenticators list all the other tells that the shoes were knock-offs, and I was impressed that the Plaintiffs brought their witnesses. Also, Judge Judy accepted as proof of transaction the Defendant's bank statement that just showed a debit for the amount he said that he paid. She's thrown out cases and scolded parties for the same evidence, saying that it didn't mean anything. I think that she already made up her mind before the parties came before her.

I commented on the Robyn-the-Peacemaker thread about Mariah's quitting her 3-year academic program in Year 2, and she's leaving with neither an MSW or an MA in social justice. She'll finish her MSW in Utah. She's abandoning her studies in social justice. She's such a poseur in so many ways, and all her rantings were just loud, obnoxious noise. I can't believe that she would first tell Meri about her decision to transfer upon her arrival at an ad hoc event with Robyn's and Christine's children. If so, it's yet another example of what an ingrate Mariah is. (Meri should be livid about the tuition she's paid or subsidized.) I can believe the passive response from everyone, because that crowd is not academically inclined and probably didn't grasp what was happening. (I don't believe Robyn's past claims that she attended college.) I believe that Mariah dropped out for academic reasons and is hiding behind Audrey's depression. Nobody asked Mariah about any alternatives, such as relocating after earning both degrees, or about any impacts, such as the credits she'll lose in the transfer. Nobody showed any concern for Audrey's mental health or asked if she could manage one more year in Chicago so that Mariah could finish her program. Finally, if Loyola were like most schools, they switched to remote learning in the semester Mariah would have left. She could have been working toward her original degrees in Parowan, SLC, or any place where Audrey could manage or thrive.

I miss Cynical Jinx's living room dearly! Here's the speech in its entirety. http://cynicaljinxwelcome.blogspot.com/2015/03/the-biggest-mistake-she-ever-made-in.html

We see one scene of Mariah and Audrey in this episode, and it's unrelated to anything else in this episode. Unfortunately, it looks like they're getting more time in the next episode. And, they can string out their wedding for another 5 seasons. Mariah is horrid, and her justification for her move (and barely mentioning that she's transferring schools) was selfish, even though she cloaked it in fake concern for Audrey. I feel sympathy for Audrey. Audrey has been struggling to live in Chicago for two years. She doesn't have a lot of friends there, and her mental health has suffered. She's further isolated because she works from home. Audrey says that they're so busy in Chicago, but keeps on saying how much they miss everyone [the Browns]. Yet, Mariah says that her missing two family Christmases was the catalyst for their move to Utah. (Wasn't Mariah at the plyg palace PowerPoint presentation?) Mariah is so selfish (mini-Meri). She seems to have failed to strike some type of school-life balance that integrated or considered Audrey. Mariah arrived to a structured environment with a built-in community at her university. Audrey had to somehow find her own way, She speaks of lacking friends there, separate from Mariah. I also suspect that Mariah's exploiting Audrey's struggles to conceal her own academic shortcomings. She is quitting a 3-year program where she would earn two degrees after Year 2, and she's leaving with neither degree. They both gained a lot of weight in the interim between filming that scene and their couch interview about it. Mariah and Audrey came back to visit for the first time in a year. Meri had already moved 2 or 3 times in Flagstaff. Kody and Janelle aren't even in town for the visit. They're supposedly on a business trip for the duration of Mariah and Audrey's visit, because Meri says that Kody will just have to hear in a soundbite when he returns. Christine and her daughters, and Robyn and her children arrive at the same time as Mariah and Audrey. They all enter Meri's house behind the guests of honor. Savannah and Gabe are MIA, as are Mosby and the other dog, and everyone ignores Meri's mother, Bonnie, while she sits on the uncomfortable, solo sofa section. They do let her in the forced group hug dominated by Robyn's family. They're already in full hug while Christine's daughters are still getting out of their chair at the other end of the room. Mariah says that they're moving to Salt Lake City because they miss being around the family. Audrey explains that they're planning to start their own family, so it's important that they're close to family and people who are close to them. Mariah clarifies that they'll marry in a year and a half, before they start their family. In reality, they're still 8 hours away from Flagstaff and 3.5 hours from Parowan. Aspyn and Mitch would be nearby, but they're the most entrenched in the AUB. Meri says that their church does not believe that same-sex relationships are appropriate and the fambly accepts Mariah and her choosing to marry Audrey. Kody said, "Our younger children don't even make the distinction. If they love someone, they're going to get married." Meri and Kody can't reconcile for themselves, but somehow think that their toddlers have already.

Robyn's purity speech will stigmatize and traumatize her children, especially if they still have a relationship with their father.

She said it after the visit to Prairie Dog Plague Flats, where they had two other homophobic exchanges. Walking to their land, Robyn said, "Let's all kiss and make up right here." Meri replied, "Not all together, please Robyn. That would be weird." Robyn then asked, "Oh? That's too weird, Meri?" As @sheshark pointed out in the live chat, they were all out of breath, walking up a slight hill. At the end of their visit, Robyn makes Meri hold her hand and then makes Kody hold Meri's hand. Meri whines, "This is weird. Robyn said, "No. It's not." Meri recovers and says, "Kody should be in the center." Robyn replied, "No. No. We're good." Even though Kody and Meri are parents of a gay daughter, and act excited that they're shopping for venues for her monogamous wedding in next week's previews, I don't believe that they actually accept her. And, Meri's reactions to Robyn's remarks prompted Robyn to clarify that she doesn't have erotic love for Meri - only sister wife love, the most beautiful, selfless love ever imagined, in her delusional world.

They can't make, much less achieve, any plans, because they're dumb, and they're relying on Kody, who can't even form an idea, according to Robyn. But, Janelle apologizes that Kody's "being spread so thin with so much responsibility, so much on his plate." Robyn: Kody's really good at the starting part of an idea. He puts so much energy into that, but sometimes he starts getting a little bit exhausted towards the end of it. Janelle: The execution, though, is sometimes is a little bit where he gets lost. Kody: I can be a finisher. Yes, I do finish. But there's a lot of projects I start and there's just never the time to make it. . . to finish it out. Christine: I'm really good at starting projects. Not so good at finishing, because then it loses its interesting factor. Janelle: I definitely don't see myself as a visionary. I'm the worker bee who makes something happen. Meri: Once the idea is kinda formulated, I'm like, "OK. Let's go for it." Robyn: I think I'm a finisher. So it's probably good that I'm the fourth wife, because I finish. Snort. Giggle. Giggle. So, Kody might have a notion, which Meri endorses. Christine starts, then Janelle tags along. Robyn gets the final say. Yet, they're all awful in their designated roles.
-
Robyn exploited Meri's selfishness. Meri wanted another sister wife to even the match against Christine and Janelle, or to please Kody. Meri probably never imagined that she'd be overthrown as No. 1 wife.

You're right. I corrected my post. Rebecca's still chewing her cheek over a 2- or 3-week remainder on his K-1 visa, as if she needs every single one of the 90 days to decide if she should marry him (because he's not allowed to divorce her). Zied arrived in January 2020. Their camera crew hasn't had to drop everything and run yet, like Tarzel's did two episodes ago. Julia may have arrived in Fall 2020, pre-election, based on their scenes. Stephanie's story was filmed in October 2020, with our introduction to her filmed in July or August 2020. The timelines of the couples this season are scattered.
-
I had to Google it. Ramadan 2020 began on April 23. Zied arrived in mid- or late January - a few days before entry into the US was restricted. So, Zied was at worst pushing that they marry before Day 75 or so. If Rebecca and Zied did have to sleep separately during Ramadan, she could buy a sleeper sofa for their empty apartment or send him to her daughter & Micah's place, where he'd be under surveillance and interrogation 24/7. That would be the trade-off so that she could have the 4th wedding of her dreams, with a horse-drawn carriage, chicken buffet, fedora veil and strapless gown to show off her tattoo sleeves.

Great post in its entirety! I excerpted these two thoughts so that I could emphasize how their social development stopped in junior high school. They're pathetic. Meri and Kody have been married for decades, gone to marriage counseling for decades, but still can't bring up or talk about simple issues. Yet, Robyn wrapped up the whole issue in one conversation of "Do you think he meant this? Why did she do that?" like junior high girls on the phone and ended with everyone's holding hands. Just a few seasons earlier, they would have been in a prayer circle, led by Kody.
-
Meri would not hold hands with her sisterwife Robyn and rebuked Robyn's suggestion that she, Robyn and Kody kiss and make up. Meri understood it literally. She deemed both ideas weird. Also, Kody remarked in the previews that Mariah and Audrey don't need to walk down a straight aisle for their wedding. Both Meri and Kody seem to be homophobic.
-
Kody acquiesced, because he couldn't stand being around Meri. Robyn seems to be a better polygamist therapist than Nancy.
-
The season will be, "Oh, how we long to visit our daughter, but, we're felons in Utah, so we can't. We'll be arrested for polygamy and thrown into jail for 10 years if we're pulled over for a speeding ticket."
-
He's such a douchebag.
-
Kody doesn't understand what his family's dysfunction is, but he no longer wants to gather the family together. He'd rather spend time with one family alone. Great Leadership.
-
Loyola. But it was still $60K a year. And nobody flinched at the news or discussed finances because (1) none of the parents are educated ( Janelle may have an associates degree); (2) It's Meri's money.
-
Robyn stresses over the family structure and family culture. Of course.
-
Kody laughs and tosses back his curls. Gross.
-
Kody's emoting more over a dead and buried dog more than he ever has over any of his children - including Truely on her deathbed. And, it's all for show, since 10 years later, nobody's forgiven them from digging a grave for a dog who's running behind them, wagging its tail.
-
Including Logan, they all married the first person who paid attention to them. Quite a rebound from being Kody's life's work.
-
Wasn't Christine upset that Robyn and Kody made some housing decision without her last season? And, now she's announcing that she unilaterally accepted a very low offer on her Las Vegas house. They don't care, because they just want and need the immediate cash. Grifters gotta grift.
-
Kody still sits as far away from the rest of them.
-
Who's running the inn, if Meri, her mother and Mariah & Audrey are all in Flagstaff?
