  1. Fair point on the popularity contest aspect. I wouldn't want any child to judge others though, YMMV. I don't hate Maddie, although I don't care much for her mom as depicted on DM, and I loathe ALM. Perhaps it would have been more fitting if she stayed 'interviewing' the other kids or provided commentary...this would be preferable for ME as a viewer, obviously everyone is different.
  2. This is one of the reasons I am not watching this year: I have NO desire to see a child judge others. She has talent, yes. But she isn't all that: would prefer if she were a contestant. Not a judge. She hasn't the experience to qualify as a judge imo.
  3. I also loved the Michigan couple. They were a breath of fresh air from the types we generally see on this show. I had to laugh when they were talking about the kids having a place to have their friends over and the wife said something about 'maybe we could have friends over too' and he replies 'do we have friends?' (paraphrasing here, not a direct quote). So very different from all the couples who are entertaining non stop for all their friends and family!
  4. I didn't care much for the couple moving to PR. Did you know she wanted a fixer upper so she could 'make it her own' and 'put her own stamp on it'? Those expressions now make me want to scream. Choosing decorations and furniture, paintings and such also are ways of expressing one's style and taste. You don't need to gut the kitchen. The $700k house they chose actually did need updating though, so gut away. I hope it cost them more than $200k though. lol
  5. On the auction house case: I giggled when stupid Levin stated that the defendant supplied the evidence she needed to win the case in the allotted time period. I did not want that obnoxious plaintiff to win a dime. Read the contract! Then she states that she had 'no problem with the contract'. Yes, you did you idiot: you mentioned that during your testimony.
  6. I was so infuriated by pretty much everyone in this case. Poor dogs. :-( Don't these morons know there are thousands of unwanted mutts in shelters that die. and here they are making more. And moron plaintiff with the male dog wanted to inbreed too. grrrrrrrrrr I hope the lady who owned the female dog dumps her lying, dumb ass GF pronto.
  7. My parents were fortunate enough to build a summer home on Cape Cod. We lived in NY, so a 4 1/2 hour drive, but we spent the entire summer there. The boys stuff in one room on bunk beds, and the girls...including Grandma!...in another. It was awesome. When we weren't on the beach, we were running wild through woods or riding our bikes. Not a granite countertop or stainless steel appliance in sight, although of course, those weren't the thing back then. lol Point being, the kids shared rooms, the rooms were small..being outdoors was what it was all about, although it did get chaotic when it rained.
  8. Although the comments regarding rental income probably were producer driven, the house they saw that was single family only was at the top of their budget, so they would "need" the income to help defray the cost. The two houses that were set up for 2 families were much less expensive then that other one, plus that first one also needed renovation unless I am not remembering correctly. Which is quite possible...I binged watched HH, HHI, Island Hunters, Lakefront/Beachfront Bargain Hunters etc, etc. all weekend. lol
  9. Yep, a vet check is the way to go. So many unscrupulous people in the horse world when it comes to selling. I didn't get my horse vet checked, however, she was on thew property for a year and had no soundness issues, so I took a chance and lucked out. And we were not given enough facts to make any determination of what was really going on here, but regardless, the plaintiff's vapors was a bit of an overreaction. Yes, you are out the money, but 1. Its a JJ ruling, so you don't really have to pay and 2. its not the end of the world. Poor horse is the real loser here, as the animals usually are.
  10. I think in the horse case it was mentioned that the plaintiff stated the horse was not sound. So defendant sold an unsound horse and plaintiff had the horse and had paid board all these months on a horse that couldn't be ridden. Whether or not the horse was sound before the lease with view to buy or not was unclear. If the defendant sold the horse knowing it was not sound, then she got away with it given JJ's ruling. If the horse was injured under the plaintiff's care, then JJ's ruling was fair. Plaintiff was in high drama mode though. As a horse owner, I would have really liked to have known all the facts. I think the defendant got away with something as she also looked shocked but was quite gleeful about it of course. lol
  11. I couldn't stand her at all! She was trying so hard to be oh so cute and failing miserably. And what a bitch: Z minus list celebrity not paying out when it was clearly her fault? Methinks she wanted the exposure from an appearance on a show people actually watch. Glad the plaintiff won.
  12. I could not stand that guy...he came in rolling his eyes at just about every word, and his last comment about 'This is the People's Court and should be about the people and not about the judge'. WTF? Jerk...I was so glad she tossed him out.
  13. What I didn't get was making the large attic space a playroom instead of the girl's bedroom. It was very spacious enough for each girl to have their own bed, as well as giving plenty of room to play. Instead, they crammed them in that tiny bedroom. I think I must have missed out on something.
  14. I guess it depends on whether it is really a business or a hobby, but if he is doing that all the time, I would think there would be zoning issues for sure. Re; blasting music...one doesn't need to have a pool either. lol I board my horse in the country roads of Waimanalo, HI and its surrounded by plant nurseries etc. One would think the only noise is when they get out the tractors to do whatever needs doing, but nope...across the street is a nursery and the owner BLASTS his music...luckily not too terribly often! It would be far worse if one lived by that sort of constant noise, so I feel for you chessiegal.
  15. Going back to the Austin 'lunkheads' (lol) the friend who would be renting makes furniture and uses power tools and wanted to build his business up, right? Or am I not recalling that correctly? Anyhow, I would NOT want to be their neighbor! Power tools are loud and obnoxious...my brother made furniture, using my garage when he lived in my house and the weekends were awful. I just wanted to relax, but the constant noise made that impossible. So, yeah...I would not want to be the neighbor there.
  16. WTF? I was hoping this was a joke. :-( This used to be my favorite summer show. They were wondering how to fix it??? Seriously, all they really needed to do was fire Nigel from the judging panel. This really sucks...why is that kid a fricking JUDGE? I think what I really hate the most about this is that that freak show Abbey Lee Miller will be getting an extra ego boost. Ugh. Revolting. :-(
  17. One of my pet peeves in the HH lineup of shows: HH's budget - $200,000-$350,000. Agent shows them a house that costs $325,000. HH: That's over budget!!! No, it isn't if you stated that you would go up to $350,000!. I can understand wanting to stay closer to the lower end of a budget, but once the higher number is out there, finding a home that is lower than that but higher than the lowest end of the budget is NOT over budget. grrrrrrrr. lol
  18. I think it will be interesting to see if peter's tribe mentions anything about his lack of caring. If he was really uncaring I would think they would comment on it?
  19. Nothing much to add here, but I loved when Christina got up and did her 'My Team is Full' song. The other judges got a kick out of it too. I like her a lot more this season.
  20. This quote from Alec Baldwin cracks me up: “There was a time when my greatest wish was to stab Harvey Levin with a rusty implement and watch his entrails go running down my forearm, in some Macbethian stance. I wanted him to die in my arms, while looking into my eyes, and I wanted to say to him, ‘Oh, Harvey, you thoughtless little pig,'” the actor told The New Yorker. Baldwin, who has been the target of numerous TMZ stories, refers to Levin as “a festering boil on the anus of American media.” OMG, I guess he doesn't like him. Can't say as I blame him. I think I have lost some respect for MM for associating with this slimeball.
  21. The POS defendants were stating (IIRC) that fireworks scared their dogs enough to jump the fence and come after the plaintiff's dog who was being walked on the leash. The NERVE of that woman, walking her dog on a LEASH. I wanted to punch their faces in so much. I think I will start to FF through dog cases too.
  22. No need for a small voice :-) It's the reason that the HH use...they couldn't possibly bathe a child with no tub...that merits scorn. lol I love a nice, long soak too, and since I have no tub presently, plan on including one when I redo my master in the (hopefully) near future.
  23. I accidentally erased the 2nd episode of JJ (I blame being sick!) so reading this is extra entertaining. I think I would have liked seeing the MeeShaylee case. And suing for defamation because you were called a slob? lol I will go on the record right now and claim my slobbishness here in public. However, I own my place, so I only offend myself. I do have to unclutter since I will be doing a renovation though.
  24. I was pretty floored when the Dublin couple chose that place with a 20 minute walk followed by a 40 minute bus ride. I loved the apartment, but that commute would have been a deal breaker for me. And yeah...the 'huge yard' was a wee bit of an overstatement. lol But they can put out a grill and entertain! Maybe I am a people hating recluse, but I don't entertain on the scale of any of these HH. The Mexico couple made me laugh over the obsession with the tub. It is pretty easy to do a makeshift tub as explained a few posts above. Sheesh, get a grip. Just think of all those Mexican children raised with *gasp* NO tubs!!! Horrors! I was pretty enthralled by the Marrakech episode. All of those places were beautiful! I never would have gone for the reno one, but that is only because I loathe renovations, but it turned out really lovely. My favorite one was the one with the pool, but really, any of them would do.
  25. Thanks, I will look for the discussion. I am new to all the House Hunter shows, so am way behind. :-)
