  1. Has this been posted? For me, any annoyance at Cameran and Shep from the reunion has melted: Shep Rose, Cameran Eubanks and K. Cooper Ray, cast members of “Southern Charm,” will help throw a benefit party at the Republic Garden & Lounge on King Street next week in honor of Caitlyn, the dog found last week in North Charleston with her muzzle taped shut. The fundraiser will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday. The cover charge is $10, which will be donated to Toby’s Fund, money that allows the Charleston Animal Society to provide medical and behavioral treatment to neglected and abused animals in the Lowcountry. http://www.charlestonscene.com/article/20150603/CS/150609796

Doc Emrick. He just picked up his third Emmy. I really enjoy his broadcasts, but you're right in that he's definitely not the sort of uber-detailed, serious play-by-play announcer - he gets carried away by the game, which is fine with me because I know who all my players are and the rest can go to hell. lol MY GOODNESS. For your listening pleasure:
  3. I will miss The Avery That Could Have Been. You know, a smart, independent, successful female attorney who champions the underdog. A woman who may have been just a tad bit too busy to hang around watching Joe do arm curls.
  4. She still has MS? I thought Pratt had forgotten about it. Highly Functioning Perma-Buzzed Nikki gets my vote!!! If only Jessica Walter could guest star as Nikki's ladies-who-lunch high society drinking buddy, always ready with a mean smile and snarky put-down.
  5. I imagine he has a weaselly loophole, like (perhaps) "real" incest only means father/daughter intercourse or some other narrow definition that would give Smuggar a pass. :(
  6. Margamo, I don't think you're being old-fashioned. Y&R characters booze it up daily like they're characters in a Dashiell Hammett story. I keep waiting for someone to order a whiskey sour and yell "say, Lily, your joint is aces!" I love Nikki as a mean drunk. It's such a nice break from her usual insipidness.
  7. movinon, can you please send some of that rain to California? In the meantime, please stay safe from the storms. And I hope you get some sleep! peach, where arrrreeee yoooooouuuuuu? enjoying a lovely, leisurely break from Y&R insanity, I hope!
  8. Well... that was a lunchbag let-down. Way too much Kathryn on my screen. Whitney didn't fall off the stage. No little summaries at the end for each character. Craig left town (which we all knew already), FIN. I think the whole Shep vs Craig auction drama thing was somewhat staged. Shep said "she fake bought you" - I don't think either of those bids were real. Cameran was no more writing a check for $1700 than that struggling musician was writing a check for five grand. I would love to know how much was actually raised at that event for the WWP, though. Good ole Patsy gets bonus points from me for highlighting that cause, as does her fabulous decorator for his ballroom joke. More decorating, dinners, cocktails, christenings and pole fishin' please. Less of whatever Kathryn thinks she's doing with that Jerry Springer nonsense. T-Rav's "raise the roof" commercial will be the least of Kensie's embarrassments. My final tally: Kensie>Cameran>Shep>Patsy>Landon>Craig>Thomas>Whitney>Kathryn
  9. Well now, i don't have all of this at my finger tips to link to, but from various twitter accounts and interviews the gist seemed to be that Craig's behavior made him unpleasant to film with and eventually they just got worn down by his antics. You put that together with all those high-achiever trophies in his old bedroom and his own admission that he was never popular in high school and when he moved to Charleston he suddenly became a fixture on the nightclub/bar scene and got lots of attention, and my take is that he had a delayed adolescence. Like those sheltered kids who go nuts in college. Except it's not cute on a 26 year old, and even less cute for older cast mates to be around. But yeah, Shep and Cameran's concern seemed way out of proportion to what we were shown. I'm giving them some benefit of the doubt on this. Basically, I think of these people as a ragtag community theatre troupe playing characters loosely based on themselves. The acting goes OTT sometimes, but that's what you get from amateurs.
  10. My greatest fear (okay, one of my big fears) in all of this is that behind closed doors the daughters are being blamed and shamed all over again. Like, "look what your defrauding of innocent Joshie has done to us!" I am not convinced that Smuggar would be willing to throw his parents under the blame bus, but it would not surprise me in the least if he is leaning on Gothard teachings and casting patriarchal venom at his sisters (plus whoever the non-family victim was, not to mention the liberal media). The victims' lives have been turned upside down by this becoming so public, I really do worry what else they are being put through behind closed doors. Because I have little hope that they are receiving proper help. And if that is the case, I hope Anna is not piling on. IMO her upbringing is a two-sided coin - on the one side she was raised in this belief system and probably had little choice in accepting and marrying Josh, on the other side it's that exact upbringing that would have taught her to blame the victims. If this public outing of Joshie hardens her against the victims then that is just another support channel outside their parents that they would be cut off from. My biggest HOPE in all of this is that the blame train has derailed and the victims are getting compassionate understanding and help, if when and how they choose. Sorry for the wall of text. I have been quietly reading along for the past four (?) days and "liking" so many, many, many of your comments here. The discussion has been civil, thoughtful, considered and respectful. Kadooz to you, folks, for being able to process and voice what so many others have been thinking... but had to sit on our hands until we calmed down.
  11. I hope the next time MEchelle gives a starry-eyed account of her alleged bulimia, the interviewer interrupts MEchelle's baby-voice babble and asks exactly how and when she was diagnosed with bulimia nervosa, and by whom, and what treatment she received. Facts, woman. Put up or shut up. My little black heart has long wanted to hear from these supposed neighbors who were supposedly defrauded by the supposd sight of MEchelle supposedly mowing the lawn in a supposed bikini. Supposedly. The horrible revelations of this past week have only strengthened my belief that one should never buy into whatever JimBoob and MEchelle are selling unless one can examine the receipts. I hope going forward they are put on the spot about the things that come out of their mouths. (No, JimBoob, "examine the receipts" is not sexy talk.)
  12. In a way, though, I'm glad Debbie Morgan didn't stay on, because her "storyline" would have consisted of inventorying napkins at the GCAC or some irrelevant nonsense. She's too good for this crap show. Faith annoys me - I second the vote for boarding school!
  13. I loved watching Pettifleur's bitchy facade disintegrate before our very eyes. Anyone know if there is truth to Gamble's comment that Pettifleur's money really comes from an ex-husband?
  14. Congratulations, peach, on your son's graduation!!! Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday weekend. ETA Wishing everyone else here a great weekend, too. :)
  15. Ohhhhh. Okay thanks, that makes a bit more sense, except sending texts to someone from their boyfriends's phone doesn't really seem like a nice thing to do in the rational light of day. *sigh* I hope it's not supposed to be more bipolar crap. At least Christine has egg on her face. Glorious, glorious egg.
  16. His lack of emotional maturity explains a LOT about the direction this show is taking... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA oh yes the manliness. TIL the powers that be at Y&R are 12 years old.
  17. That's exactly what I'm hoping for. I hope she will reveal that she went to a REAL doctor in Chicago who told her that fucking with the paternity results, leaving Phyllis at the bottom of the stairs and burning down Victor's house was a pretty normal reaction when you add up all the shit on both sides of the shit ledger, and she is IN FACT the only mentally healthy person in GC. And then I hope she goes all Uma Thurmon in Kill Bill (volumes one AND two!) and after giving everyone what-for she takes Faith and decamps for somewhere fabulous, but not before burning down Victor's house again. Sharon 2.0: The Uprising.
  18. WHOA!!! That's not very Sharon-ish of her. But... didn't she already take a magic bipolar pill? LMAO at Christine suddenly realizing she doesn't have enough evidence and dropping the charges. Super competent, that one is. I really don't understand why Dylan is going to all this trouble of being Sharon's White Knight. Is he TRYING to get disowned? If I were him I'd be sucking up to Nikki and the rest of the Newmans. That espresso machine won't fix itself, you know.
  19. I'm not even trying this in the Sharon thread because I know it's a UO, so here we are: I HOPE SHARON REALLY DID KILL AUSTIN AND POLICEWOMAN BARBIE. And anyone else that may have died in that stupid sl that I forgot. For once, instead of her being the victim, it would be really, really satisfying if she were the perp. And then I would like Sharon to not apologize and tell everyone else who was being targeted by Austin that she did them a big old favor. And then I would like her to kill Cricket before she can bring the charges in court.
  20. Out of all the crazy things like Doppel Jacks and Kabin Killers and Miracle Bipolar Pills, this is the craziest shit. Congrats, Summer, you're the new Patty-Cakes. Minus the charm. peach when you say the Underground looks exactly the same as before Prattageddon, do you mean the same decor, too?!?!?! Has there been a full-on miraculous resurrection? The whole slut thing makes me :(
  21. Wasn't wowed by his house, either, and kinda wonder why a single (alleged) slacker like him would want to bother with the hassle of building new when there must be umpteen properties he could purchase as-is to live in or reno to flip. Perhaps his mom is staging it, not furnishing it for him to live in. Maybe this is a learner home and he wants to be a builder?
  22. Cameran was absolutely right that Whitney should have voiced his concerns to Craig's parents in private. But.... were they wearing jeans on the golf course?!?!?!?!? Bugs me also when someone introduces an adult by first name to a child - I am Auntie [First Name] to children of good friends and Mrs. Glowlights to the rest, thank you very much.
  23. WAIT. You mean they were switched years ago and the perpetual loser who's been living as The Real Jack is a doppel jack, and the loveable randy dandy we think is Doppel Jack is in fact THE Jack?????? Ooohhhhh....!!! We've already learned that Ashley is a bastard child so it would be lovely if BOTH of them were non-Abbotts. Faux-bbots. I love this. ETA I second movinon's suggestion that peach could ease her recapping burden with a grand summary of last week... I am happy with whatever peach throws our way!
  24. LOL!!!!! I hope Loser Jack stays locked up and we have nothing but Doppel Jack from now on. Chelsea is a goddamn idiot for not flipping everyone the bird and running out of the non-wedding with Adam/Gabe. Billy who?
  25. Oh my god did she really whine about Billy getting married?!?!?!? Just when I thought the character couldn't get any worse.... Dapper DoppelJack sounds very goofy and carefree in this episode, but maybe it's just the way peach wrote her recap. I would love it if a doppel-doofus ran Newman Abbot into the ground, never to rise again. That would shut them all up.
