Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"
Maharincess replied to Betweenyouandme's topic in Everything Else
My grandkids are already selling stuff for school. I've always saved the box tops and that kind of thing, when my granddaughter was in first grade my box tops won her class an ice cream and pizza party. I ALWAYS buy stuff from them (I'm grandma, that's my job) spending ten dollars on a can of popcorn kills me but I buy it anyway. I love the Xmas stuff they sell because it's stuff you can't buy in stores. This is my grandson's first time selling something and he's so excited about it. -
I asked the same thing, there are night drop boxes at the shelter? She explained that before they had the drop boxes people would come after hours and either tie the animals up at the shelter door or just leave them there in a box. They want to dump their pets but not pay a surrender fee apparently. She said there's a row of boxes and once the animal is put inside it locks so nobody can let the animal out or put another one in the same box. People suck. I've had a Chihuahua before. I adopted her when she was seven and she lived to almost 18 years old. Thanks @ABay, I like the name Daisy but she's such a Granny that I think that name is going to stick. With her grey hair it fits her.

Kevin James played a guy named Kevin on Everybody Loves Raymond, he may have played Doug Heffernan to but I'm not sure. Everyone from Raymond except for Brad Garrett were on King Of Queens. They interacted but I don't think it was technically a spin off.

@Bastet, I'm so happy to her that Riley is doing so well. I have a cat who seriously hates everyone but me. She hides in the closet if anyone comes over, she'll come out when my granddaughter spends the night but she doesn't get close to her. She's the most loving cat I've ever had, to me, but it's only me. @harrie, that's my favorite spot on my property, it's the only spot I can see the water from. It's at the very edge of my property, it's so peaceful there. I go up there when I want to relax and smoke a little something (legally!). I couldn't get up there for a long time until my son and his friends showed up at my house one day and layed a path for me. Now I go there every chance I get. I would like to introduce you all to the newest addition to my family. She has no official name as of yet but I've been calling her either Granny Clampett (I need to see if Granny had a first name) or Sweet Cheeks. They think she's around 13-14 years old and she's as fiesty as a puppy, we brought her in and she made herself right at home right away. I went with a friend to a senior dog rescue in San Francisco this morning and this little one chose me to go home with. They say she's remarkably healthy for her age. She was put in the over night drop box at the shelter. She's so damn cute I can't stand it. She looks a little like my old Chihuahua Baby who lived to be 18 years old.

Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"

I got one of those calls a couple of days ago. They said they were the IRS and since I didn't respond to their letters they were going to take action against me. Mine was an actual person with an Indian accent. I knew it was a scam and I asked what address they sent the letters to and what name. They stammered and said they could get me that information if I gave them my social security number, uh yeah OK. After me asking them 20 more questions they hung up on me and I haven't heard from them since. My grandson started TK this year and both he and my granddaughter have been sick already. I'm so happy I don't have to deal with that anymore. They know if they're sniffling and coughing they aren't going to grandma's house. -
I was going to post the same thing. It wasn't a sibling, Rhoda wanted that damn penmanship award! Awesome book.

Wasn't playing Veronica Ulchin Anne Meara's last acting job before her death? She and Jerry are my couple idols. You're so right about the King of Queens cast.

@bilgistic, I remember Sarah Spooner! I was happy when she went the way of Chuck from Happy Days and disappeared.

Toddlers & Tiaras - General Discussion
Maharincess replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Toddlers & Tiaras
If it's the kids choice to do pageants, I really don't see the difference in spending all that money on biking supplies or pageant supplies. What's the difference? I don't see how gymnastics, biking, football, cheerleading etc are all that different than pageants as far as money spent. One spends the money on biking clothes, the other on a pageant dress. I just don't see how one is better than the other. -
I don't believe a word that man says. He could tell me the sky is blue and I'd have to look outside to make sure.

They may not pull that around you but they do it.

Who is Kripke?

I did find it hilarious because I just can't get so worked up over a fictional TV sitcom. That's how teenage boys speak.

@JasmineFlower, the correct phrase is "eat a bag of dicks" not shit and I thought it was funny as hell.

These aren't my pets but I had some cow visitors today when I went out on my property this morning. They don't come over the hill too often but I love it when they do. A few weeks ago a calf got onto my side of the fence, he was the cutest little guy.

I remember reading in numerous places how, after the death of his daughter Beth (?) John was inconsolable, cried constantly and took to his bed for a while. He seems completely emotionless when he speaks about Jon Benet. I don't expect him to fall to his knees and weep on camera but there's no softening of the eyes when he speaks about her, no catch in his voice, nothing. It seems to be the polar opposite of how people say he was after his older daughter's death.
-
I'm the opposite. I don't eat much, I've been trying to gain 20 pounds for years. I stay up late and sleep in and don't drink alcohol. As long as there is pretty scenery to look at and an endless supply of Dr Pepper, I would be the easiest charter they've ever had.

Another OT but do you want to hear something weird? When my son was young, around 5 or 6, in that range he LOVED cocktail onions. My neighbor always came over with a drink and brought him extra onions. He loved them so much that for about 5 years in a row, Santa put a big jar of them in his Xmas stocking. He could sit and eat half a jar in one sitting. Topic? Trevor is an asshole. If he really was a hair model they must have shot him from behind. I am sorry I don't remember who it was so I can give them their credit but the best description I've heard of Trevor is that he looks like a Mr Potato Head who only packed one of his angry eyes. I laughed all night over that.

I was hoping that his brother wouldn't be cast on this show, I should have known better. Has he ever been in anything that Kevin wasn't in? I'd be a little embarrassed about that if I were him.
-
I love Kevin James but I'm not sure if I liked this show or not. Now that the daughter and the weirdo boyfriend are moving in, it has some potential. I'm a huge King of Queens fan and find myself wishing they'd just picked that up 15 years later, I'd love to see Doug and Carrie dealing with two teenagers and Arthur.

Lifetime Original Movies - General Discussion
Maharincess replied to omgsowicked's topic in TV Movies
Did anyone watch Sister Cities? I don't know if it was a Lifetime original but I thought it was pretty good. -
I want to thank all of you. I've enjoyed discussing this case with you all, you've all provided smart insightful comments and I've enjoyed reading them. Even though we don't all agree on this case, we've all been able to have civil debates and have been respectful of each others opinions. It's hard to find a conversation about such horrible subject matter, something that's so polarizing that is so respectful. I thank you all for that. Like I said in another thread, I really, REALLY wish they would investigate the Darlie Routier case. I would absolutely LOVE to discuss that one with you guys.

I'm in San Francisco so if you're ever up this way, Starbucks is on me!

This is crazy @AZChristian, I've said before that I agree with everything you've said regarding this case. I don't need to post most of my thoughts because you do it before me. I just bought the Kolar book and I'm working on an afghan for my granddaughter for Xmas. I'm about halfway done and really need to buckle down to get it done but I'm itching to start the book. Are we twins who were separated at birth? The only difference seems to be that my name would be CAAtheist, lol.

I've read in multiple places that despite the posh facade, the house was filthy. The public rooms were cleaned by a house keeper but their living spaces were filthy dirty. Patsy liked to put up a good front.
