  1. That was an epic fail, even for this show. I'm surprised Alan was so gentle with Big K.
  2. More intelligence from the Mirror. The BBC wants to bring in a whole new era of Doctor Who - by going back to the format it had a decade ago. What fuckwits they are.
  3. The trailer for the animation of Power of the Daleks can be seen here: http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2016-09-07/the-first-trailer-for-lost-doctor-who-story-power-of-the-daleks-is-here I'm excited!! Roll on November!
  4. Can that cook book possibly equal this one? It's talked about by fans a good thirty years after it was written. Not for good reasons, but it's still talked about.
  5. There were going to be a lot more returnees for Matts last episode, including Rory, River and Craig, but scheduling clashes meant only Karen could make it.
  6. Note to self - Jenna's a nice girl, it's not her fault that Clara nips my tits.
  7. Because it takes a lot less energy to fix a wrist than to build a whole new body. It was probably just a few weeks worth of energy from him.
  8. Bill's t shirt was the inside cover of Purple Rain. Million to one chance, or shot that close to the wire?
  9. It'll never be the weakest link while The Armageddon Factor exists.
  10. Peter Capaldi quote from the Radio Times: "“I’ve been asked to stay on, but it’s such a long time before I have to make that decision. Steven’s been absolutely wonderful, so I love working with him. Chris is fantastic, and I think he’s a hugely talented guy. I don’t know where the show’s gonna go then. I don’t know. I have to make up my mind, and I haven’t yet. As Steven [Moffat] will tell you, it’s very difficult to say goodbye.” Peter Capaldi quote from a Radio 2 interview: "I love being Doctor Who so I will be around as long as it’s right to be around." Sound like Peter wants to be around for a while longer.
  11. Chris has said that he reason he put his name forward for the role is that he wanted to make something intelligent for children, and he trusted RTD to do just that.
  12. The best I can say about Chibnalls two years on Torchwood was that season 2 became stupidly dumb fun, at times. Not a glowing recommendation.
  13. Which means jack shit in terms of ratings. When you're looking at percentage of the population watching, the TVMovie got far higher figures in the UK, and it still wasn't enough to make the BBC pick it up. And it was UK organisations that kept the franchise going in the wilderness years, Big Finish, BBC books and Virgin books are all UK based. No denying the Yanks throw big cons, but the driving impetus for Doctor Who has always come from the UK. And the reason the BBC is focussing on the UK market is because they're legally bound to.
  14. Chibnall won't be able to take over production until 2017, as he's working on Broadchurch 3. Since the autumn launch bombed on it's arse, the BBC have decided to push the airing of the next season from autumn 2016 to spring 2017. That gives Moffat time to plan his last season, and means that Chibnall has time to work up his first, to air in 2018.
  15. Undeniably. That show coasteds on the following Barrowman brought over from Doctor Who, and the weirdos who thought Ianto was the Sexy. In terms of drama, it veered between amusingly stupid and insultingly rancid.
  16. The twat who wrote Cyberwoman? Fucks sake, the only question I have is does he write with a crayon or his elbows? I'd rather the role had gone to Gareth Roberts, yes it would be whimsical, but at least he's a writer with geniune talent.
  17. I'm not sure I believe that report about Capaldi's involvement. All of the talk I've heard about Class has stated it's completely seperate to the mothership, even if it's set in Cole Hill School. Plus the Variety page that his piece links to doesn't mention Capaldi.
  18. Isn't there a reference to Sherlock!Mycroft having lost a lot of weight just before A Study In Pink? I'm sure I remember Sherlock mentioning at one point how frustrating Mycroft must have found having his jaw wired shut, as he couldn't talk.
  19. Yeah, I hate it when shows try to be clever. Stick with stoo-pid! I can't work out what was funnier, Molly in drag or Mycroft in the fat suit. Either way, it was a hell of a laugh.
  20. The Ark in Space is a stone-cold classic. Philip Hinchcliffe set the bar for his time in the show incredibly high, right from his first story.
  21. It's a King Kong rip, but yes, Baker blows Pertwee off the screen amazingly fast. That's probably the reason why Pertwee didn't care for him.
  22. Screech. So, you've forgotten Sherlock, then?
  23. You do realise this is your interpretation of Steven Moffat's attitude, not something he's said so far? Given that he created the character of River and specified her as a woman over 40, I doubt he's got a problem with mature women.
  24. The general consensus is that the filming of season one was chaotic as hell, and Ecclestons father was ill at the time. Eccles wanted to be able to visit whenever possible, but would find his free time being eaten into because scenes that should have been recorded at an agreed time were held back to be recorded in what was supposed to be time off. Plus, the director of the first set of Eccles episodes apparently set up a stunt, and didn't care when it went wrong, and a flaming sofa nearly landed on a bunch of extras. Eccles blew his stack over this, and had to be placated to continue filming the series. Also, Eccles is notorious for not sticking around, or returning to successful characters if he thinks there's nothing new to say about them, so he was never going to do a 7 year long haul. All of this is fan rumour, and things said by friends of friends of the production team. Everyone concerned has been very closed mouth, apart from Eccles saying in one Q&A with acting students that he left because he couldn't stay somewhere where members of staff who might not be considered very important were treated badly. However, Eccleston has never been less than proud of his work on the series, and has always been happy to meeet fans and sign things. Here's foortage of Eccles in character helping one fan propose: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtV1TgcexKE And another where he's talking to a sick boy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulxRmR5eNYA Basically, we may not have had Chris for loing, but by God, we were lucky to get him.
