Rewatching The Eleventh Hour has reminded me how much I love Doctor Who. I've struggled to remember that after 2017.

Wow, wasn't it great to group watch Day of the Doctor again this evening? It's so good to be reminded of the time Doctor Who was fun, and dramatic, and witty, and cast with charming, charasmatic actors. Ah well, won't be long till Chibnall flounces off to make another improving drama. 🙄

Claes Bang and Dolly Wells are both great in this, and looking back on the series, I don't have a problem with the third episode. I think most of the complaints come from the leap forward to the present day, but I don't see how it could have been a surprise to anyone who's seen Steven Moffat's work before. I still think the attempt to show how young, sexy, hot people live suffers from being written by people who haven't been young for a while, but I find the interaction between Dracula, Agatha and Zoe brilliantly entertaining.

Well...the Master had a good moment when he realised he'd killed the Cyberman before he could use a good final taunt. And there was a clip seqeuence. But otherwise... Meh. Whatever. The Time Lords will be back in all of their silly hatted glory, the Cyberman will still be stomping around say 'delete', Meh.

Fiddle-de-dee!! Will all Cybertoys be sold with a Cyberpig tucked under its arm in the future? Didn't care. About any of it.

That was surprisingly competant for something produced by Chibnall. 6/10, by far the best thing he's been involved with so far.

It was competant, if you didn't think too hard. It's as good as something with Chibnall's name on it can be.

The show doesn't need a rest, the showrunner does.

I have no faith that Chibnall will resolve any of the "IT'S AN ARC!! IT'S AN ARC!!!!" threads he's set up in the last 5 episodes. Season 11 was packed with episodes that ended when the characters wandered off camera, not with any explanation or resolution of their actions. He's probably just hoping that we'll have forgotten these details by the end of the season.

I was doing the filing and then putting on a wash while most of this episode aired. Nothing exciting enough to catch my full attention, but it wasn't bad, just rather...meh. Which is about the best Doctor Who can aim for under Chibs.

Rather dull. The only interesting stuff in this episode was wondering Where had I seen all of those plot points before? What shit was the designer smoking? With aliens that either came from Cats the movie, or the comedy hair dye shop? Weird choices.

That's not at all the take I had on it. I had the feeling that Chibnall was faithfully copying the Hartnell era in so many ways that it didn't occur to him to give the companions the data that every other companion of the new series has. When he saw the many complaints this omission generated, he did a quick and sloppy patch, in the same way that he quickly added some unfunny humour and some belated 'companions talking to each other' dialogue.

Actually, Logopolis was filmed at Jodrell Bank, but the story happened at the Pharos Project. So that's a lovely bit of fan pleasing that Chibnall managed to get wrong straight from the get go. That's all I expect from him.

I really enjoyed this series, but I do think the last episoder was badly structured. I could have done with less self-entitled pretty 20-somethings have sexy fun, and more Doctor Hellsing and the Harker foundation. Basically, Agatha and Dracula had this series in their pockets, but she so ruled the whole thing.

That really doesn't mean it's any good. Torchwood was full of scripts that weren't good enough for grown up television like Doctor Who or the SJA's.

It's a massive improvement on seasson 11. Still not good, but far more competant than Chibnall's been in the past. Even if I did get the impression he got a load of RTD scripts drunk and took shameless advantage of them.

Explaining to One about how important it was that he went on and did all of the things that needed to be done made Twelve realise that he needed to keep on doing them himself.

The show airs on the BBC, no adverts except for other programmes either side of it. He pickled five planets, billions at least.

The Doctor thought he was going to die at the end of Eleven's life, and wasn't expecting to survive the events of Time of the Doctor. He spent most of Twelve's life coming to terms with it, and thinking about what it meant to be alive when he'd prepared for death. He didn't haver a lot of time for being cuddly. Plus. he'd been nice for two lives, it was time for a change.

The best episode Chibnall has produced yet, which isn't saying much.

Ain't that the truth. But it's no surprise that the man who turned cheeky, charming Captain Jack into a dull as ditchwater mope has no sense of fun.

Certainly the Chibnall era (rather than any of the actors, who might be good with better writers) is utterly disposable. It's just a thing, that's on fotr 50 minutes on a Sunday night, because the BBC want to sell DVDs and toys.

The TARDIS budget hasn't been cut, in fact I think that moving claw must have set the production team back a bit. I think the problem is that they built the set before they realised how difficult it is to film in, hence the cast having to stand in a fixed line in the few shots we've had in the consolee room. There's no point in going back and rewatching the stuff you ff'd through, anything Chibs thinks is important will have had a big, glowing arrow drawn at it, you won't have missed anything important.
