S06.E16: Last Day on Earth - Pre-Air Speculation and Live Chat

. Just keep in mind how the actors always seem to be overly dramatic at finales. I have no doubt the episode will be rough, but maybe not in the way we think...who knows. -
Small Talk: Ughngnggh! Ugghhnnn!

I gave up on iZombie but it never grossed me out. I thought I was pretty used to gore, but some of the action sequences in Daredevil this season have me covering my eyes. :-O -

I can't even comprehend losing Michonne. I'd be devastated. I'm leaning towards Morgan again based in the last promo. Not sure why. -

Random: Jon Bernthal is AMAZING on Daredevil. Watch it! -

Maggie's haircut reminded me of how she looked when we first met her. Now if only her accent would go back to that. It wasn't great, but it was better than the mush she spits out now.

This episode for me demonstrates the issues I'm having the last few seasons with the whole show. I love this show. It's my favorite! BUT, I watch up to Season 3, and things happened. The plot advanced. People did stupid things, but it's because they were in a NEW apocalypse, not two years in. Very little happened this episode. There were callbacks (protein bar), and I love me some continuity, but we spend so much of our 43 minutes being artsy, and going over a period of time that we have already seen (Carol's note to Tobin). It drives me crazy. We have two month off-screen time jumps just to spend the next 6 episodes on 24 hours. (exaggeration in this case, but you get the point.) Less time, please, show, on being artsy and having Carol cry, more having people make smart decisions. When 90% of the characters that have been with us for ages leave the walls, that is just bad decision making. It's plot contrivance at its very finest, and TWD ought to get an award for it. I'm frustrated at how Gimple is running the show. More realistic (yes, with zombies) stuff, and less artsy, fartsy, WHAT DOES IT ALLL MEEEEAAAAAN??? crap. Also, who wakes up and immediately wants to eat an apple?

The Comics: Same, Yet Different

I know she's been mentioned a couple times, but nothing has really come of her group, as far as I remember. Here's her wiki: http://walkingdead.wikia.com/wiki/Magna_(Comic_Series) -

I used to love Vienna sausages as a kid. Haven't had them in ages. I'm a bit more health conscious now. Ha! My grandma used to make saltines with mayo. Another yum. Or, she'd put butter on them and toast them. -

Pickled okra. YUM. I've had a hankering (see! I'm really southern.) for some recently, but I can't find any locally, other than spicy, and I want regular! -

He could monologue about Priceline then we wouldn't have to have so many commercial breaks. -

By season's end, I'd guess no one. Maybe the cell is just...there. Waiting. As many "bad" people as there are on this show, Morgan needs to make a jail house, not just one cell. -

Yes, Negan is still around "now," and that's after a significant time jump. -

I didn't recall any, and I checked the wiki pages around that time. http://walkingdead.wikia.com/wiki/Issue_97That issue and a few following. Some Saviors attack ASZ actually. -
I still read them, though I prefer to do it in bulk, either when a volume or compendium is released. You can read the summaries on wikipedia pages. I mostly enjoy it.

Enjoyed your whole post. I also am a regular church-goer, so you aren't alone. ;) I think the show did well with Hershel's faith back in the day. It's scary having that represented by "Hollywood." I don't feel as strongly negatively as you do about how they are portraying FPP. I don't necessarily think they've made him weak because he's a priest, but he's just weak period. I thought (though I need to re-watch), that he was quoting Scripture to comfort himself. He knew what had to be done, and he didn't like it, but he was trying to hold onto what was important to him (even though he had made bad decisions before) in the midst of purposefully doing what he surely considers sin. I also liked Carol and Tobin. I thought from the first time he offered to help her learn to shoot, the show would eventually do something with them. I dislike Morgan. I do. I don't want to, but how can I not? However, I am very sad for him. I loved him in the pilot and in Clear. He has had a rough time. He blames himself, and for most of it, he was alone. His wife was dead from almost the beginning. He has had a really bad apocalypse, and he only had the stupid cheesemaker to commiserate with him. He deserves better, but that's how this world works. I am sad for him, and for Duane, and his horribly acting zombie wife. I think Rosita will be fine; Abe was an ass, but what he said wasn't wrong.

I agree re: Rick. :) I watched an episode from earlier in season 5 today, and I hate to keep harping on LC's accent and acting (well, not really), but I finally figured out what it reminds me of. It's almost like she is wearing a retainer and is having a hard time talking around it, and it's making her do her mouth weird and talk with an impediment. Not like season 2 at all. And her face wasn't always so pinched as recently as season 4. Eh well.
