  1. It’s hard enough to watch the young ones embarrass themselves. It’s just painful to watch seniors. Reality TV really strips people of their good sense. Fame and money are powerful, seducing seniors to pretend they are still young and sexy. I hope we’ve seen the last of these senior bachelors and ‘ettes.
  2. Totally agree. I watched GB and would be hard pressed to pick out a favorite. Susan is just too much. 🙄 I’m in this age group and I don’t have any friends who dress and act like these “ladies”. My friends are much too classy to act like these GBs… including Gerry. I can forgive young people who haven’t found themselves. But watching seniors beg for love is just a turn off. Desperation doesn’t flatter anyone.
  3. I agree with @tennisgurl 100%! How refreshing to see young adults get along, especially concerning Joey. Their fresh faces (for the most part) were welcomed after seeing so much plastic surgery, makeup, hair extensions and fake tans. I could do with a tad more demure clothing but I can’t have it all. At the beginning I stated how impressive Joey was, and prayed it would continue. It has! He’s humbly handsome, articulate, kind, empathetic, and seems to be an all around gentleman. I’m sorry race had to show its ugly face. Rachel represented her culture well. What do people want??? If we were all the same what a boring world it would be. Class is class whatever color it is!!!
  4. Katy is a beauty. Unfortunately she often dresses awful, her hair is unbecoming, her antics are beyond pale, and she has a love affair with the camera. Of course since she is paid so much more than Lionel and Luke she rightfully believes she is the star. This results in Katy NOT being pretty at all. “Beauty is as beauty does”. My advice to TPTB would be get 3 equal judges who work as a team. Not a Katy with two backups. Let the contestants be the focus. The judges are already stars. They don’t need AI to give them a start. 🙄
  5. In Joey’s defense, do you really think TPTB are ever going to let us hear a conversation of substance? Joey shows a maturity that most Bachelors (at least on this show) are missing. He can answer questions and ask leading questions better than most men I know! He knows how to converse. And he does it without using “like” every other word. If there is a fault, he’s too smooth. TPTB like drama that only hunky low IQ bachelors can stir up. Reality TV usually strips people of their common sense, reducing them to camera hogging idiots. (Well, maybe that’s just my opinion.😂)
  6. Fatigue. It always sets in. How long can anyone be “normal” in a pressure cooker? He’s either found the one or not. Either way, he’s just plain tired. 🥱
  7. I blame this on Leslie. She’s just a dreary, sad sack person. To be honest, I’d just as soon never see any of the GB ladies ever again.
  8. Joey was so uncomfortable talking with Daisy. He even started filling his sentences with “like”. This is the first time I’ve seen him struggle. He’s always so smooth. This convo was painful.
  9. No one has specifically referred to what I said about hoping Daisy is not the bachelorette, but I want to qualify my statement. Like Joey, I’m in awe of her resiliency and progression with her implant. I just don’t think that she’s a lead character just yet. It’s not personal. I just find myself tense and strained to hear her. Maybe in time Daisy could be. But personally I think Daisy has a bigger picture in mind than just bachelorette.
  10. Random thoughts here… I believe Joey likes Rachel. But not romantically and I think that’s reciprocated. He doesn’t mind carrying her far because she won’t be heartbroken when he lets her go. Maria is fun and challenging but, well, you know. More trouble than she’s worth. Production wants to keep her for drama. And she WILL provide. And does anyone believe Joey didn’t know who to give the group date rose? More manipulated drama. As far as the rose ceremony, I could have pinned the tail on those 2 donkeys wearing a blindfold. The only two he’s shown a romantic interest in are Daisy and KA, and I think with Daisy it’s just intrigue. Regarding the next bachelorette, I hope it is not Daisy. She is too difficult to understand and I get that with her hearing/speech issues. I can’t watch a whole season wondering what she said.
  11. Never mind this! Was Maria wearing anything under that two-piece navy number. And I’m not talking her bare midriff. I’m talking the skirt slit up to her waist! Introverts don’t dress like that.
  12. I wouldn’t want to be the bachelor that follows Joey. So far, he is perfection.
  13. I agree about Daisy. I have random thoughts about her. If I’m being shallow, she seems a little dull. Her smile is beautiful and she articulates very well. But the spark is just not flickering. Also I fear if Joey chooses her, the aftermath publicity circuit will be all about her and her disability. Not that that’s bad but it puts the romance in the shadows. After all, this is about love and romance, right??? I think I just want more for this bachelor who has stolen the heart of this 75 year old woman.
  14. Dull brown suits and French cuffs. Talk about fashion oxymoron!
  15. This analogy (about Maria) should win an award. Spot on!
  16. No drama = no show. When bachelors or ‘ettes go on this show they must realize that along with all the perks comes the constant manipulation. Some are savvy enough to negotiate the drama but many are not. The desire to be on camera robs those of their dignity. When someone chooses to go on a second season they are more familiar with the manufacturing. This is where Joey excels (so far). It’s early and I know fatigue sets in and it becomes more difficult to avoid the land mines. But at this stage I can say Joey is the smoothest bachelor I can recall. Regarding Maria, who has definitely been thrown under the bus, I understand her more since learning she’s been raised and mostly influenced by men. She definitely lacks the finesse that is instilled by female nurturing. That’s not her fault but she certainly rattles the cages of “ladies” who are not so blunt. I admire confidence but there’s a more subtle way to show it that’s not so off-putting. A feminine skill she’s missing. She’s not my cup of tea but I sympathize with her.
  17. I’m thankful Joey made the right move sending Sydney home. He doesn’t have (at least I don’t think so) the info we audience members have. If he’s seeing this for the first time as it airs, it has to be validating to see his gut instinct was correct. And now Lea’s gone crazy. 😝
  18. Yes. I’m old too. Today’s culture needs to learn the word “Demure” …reserved, modest, and shy (typically used of a woman). I actually believe men would find that attractive. Who really wants a trashy wife??? (Only trashy men.)
  19. Hilarious! Kelsey’s gait is as unfortunate as Zack’s fiancée (can’t remember her name but will never forget how she walks).
  20. Joey proposed a toast! He’s an adult.. as opposed to idiots who “do cheers”. 👍
  21. Really there’s only so much gravitas a sponsored televised wedding can muster. If anyone thought they’d tune in for Southern elegance that was a huge mistake. It was the carnival I expected. No disappointment here.
  22. 💯% agree with this. This season was a huge improvement but these judge replacements would be so welcomed! Thank God for Derek. Perfect replacement for Len. Julianne got better (calmer?) as the season progressed. They’ve made some excellent changes! Now regarding shenanigans, I believe there were some. But people go on this show for various reasons. Winning the mirror ball trophy is not always their top priority. But you can bet your bottom dollar DWTS had one goal. Good entertainment and a winner of THEIR choice. A little drama over shenanigans is just more publicity. I’m thankful it was on network TV. I hope this continues.
  23. If there were quality TV shows, this reality stuff would suffer in the rating. But when any of the Bachelor/ette shows rank high in the ratings, you can bet there’s nothing competing for the audience’s attention. That’s certainly why I watched. Add in the newness of a senior bachelor and the ratings were a bonanza. What I found was my tolerance for senior stupidity and silliness is much lower than for the inexperienced young crowd. I also loathed that these ladies dressed inappropriately for their age. Theresa’s finale lavender number was awful. No one in their 70s should wear that low cut no cleavage dress with unsupported boobs hanging to their waist. 😖 And this is just one instance. I could name many! And not just Teresa. Regarding Gerry’s mouthing while listening, he’s been doing this all season. if you want true entertainment, watch the listeners instead of the talkers. Gerry was never my cup of tea but, hey, we get our entertainment wherever we can find it.
  24. I find Leslie extremely “teenaged” in her drama. No, I don’t want to watch her as Golden Bachelorette. People “our age” are too mature for her sh!t.
