  1. The phrase "equally yoked" is almost always associated with the idea of "What makes a good Christian marriage?". Churches will focus on the importance of marriage partners being equally yoked, that is, sharing similar (Christian) values and beliefs. So this makes me think that you're asking "Why don't these folks ask about religious compatibility right from the start, instead of waiting until later in the show?" I don't think that's how the show works. I mean, I guess it's possible that, during the little bit of time the lead spends with the girls/guys, the lead determines that someone has a religious or other belief not compatible with their own and boots them for that reason. But I think the lead also gets direction from Production: "Keep Mary around for two more episodes [we're crafting her story]" or "We'd like the single mom to be in the final 4." So I think things like that also play into who stays and who goes, irrespective of the lead's own personal preferences. It satisfies the audience demands for diversity and variety. And ultimately, the lead only needs to pick one contestant to be with at the end, right? That's the one that counts.
  2. When Ariel's father asked what is it about Ariel that's different from the other women, I think Zach said "Well two big things stood out right away". And yes, my mind went there. Also: How much time does the lead get to spend with the contestants prior to hometown dates? Especially if that lead is isolated and feeling sickly with COVID part of that time? I mean, is it realistic that he'll know or remember everyone's middle name and birthday? But yeah, Zach's responses (at least what they showed us) to the questioning from Ariel's family were pretty tepid.
  3. I haven't watched much of this season so far, so I can't speak to Ariel's hotness, but the bachelors were all pretty gobsmacked by Emily Maynard.
  4. I just assumed that S&M wear was a thing these days... But didn't Gabby at one point say something about being on Dancing with the Stars while pointing to her outfit? So then I thought it had to do with DwtS. I loved the white dress with flowers that Gabby wore for the proposal scene
  5. Here are my opinions. Your mileage may vary. 1. I haven't watched the past few seasons of this show, other than in a couple of cases, like Tuesday, I did watch the final episode. Since that one ep is the only frame of reference I have, I just want to say that the show has really gone down the tubes! For example, Rachel/Tino - instead of giving us the happy ending and then presenting the surprise twist, as Production used to do, this time they kept showing a disgruntled Rachel and her parents (in an inset box) throughout Rachel's part of the pre-filmed episode. So we already knew it wasn't going to be a happy ending. Why did they spoil their own show that way? 2. I did not like either Rachel or Tino, just from this one episode. Their whole convo focused a lot on some event or discussion that we viewers were not allowed to know about, so it made no sense. An argument where viewers can't even take sides, because we don't really know what all happened. But hey, if you're not right for each other, you're not right for each other. So be it. Now wrap it up. The show should not have let them keep going on and on about it. It was uncomfortable and boring. 3. I did enjoy the Gabby/Erich ending. Though they did not get as much time as I thought they should get. 4. Finally, I'm shaking my head at all those people on that other forum who think the ultimate "worst, most horrible" thing is that the show did not highlight what a racist Erich is and then cancel him. RACIST, I TELLS YA! Dudes, Erich did an insensitive, ill-considered thing when he was in high school. Oh no! Teen exercises poor judgment! Stop the presses! That does not mean he's a racist. (Now, if he did that same thing at age 25, I'd be concerned.) Cognitive maturity--the ability to analyze a situation, a choice, or an idea in a mature manner before responding or executing, instead of just going off half-cocked or impulsively and then regretting it--doesn't really finish developing until about age 25. This is why so many of us, as we approach age 30, start to look back things we said or did during our high school and college years and say "What was I thinking? Most of us can think of things we said or did, during our school years, that we wish we could take back. I could not care less about the poor choice Erich made in high school. I care more about whether he has an actual job or job prospect now. That, for me, would be a deal breaker in a relationship.
  6. I've only watched last week and about 30 minutes of this week (couldn't take any more of the train wreck), so maybe I shouldn't weigh in on this...but... if Gabby is the bachelorette, I hope they give her (1) elocution lessons, because her breathy vocal fry is off-the-charts annoying, (2) a new hair-do, because she is not rocking the parted-down-the-middle look, and (3) a stylist to put her in clothing that works for her body. (I think she thinks her boobs look great in those weird tops, but I think they look droopy and sad.)
  7. This is the first episode I've watched, so I can't say whether Susie planned exiting or not--because not having watched the previous eps, I don't know--but I actually thought she seemed very quick to give up and leave, rather than stay to try to discuss the situation further with a man she said she supposedly had feelings for. The way she responded to Clayton's admission did not say "terribly devastated" to me. BUT THEN Clayton tried to shift the blame to her, and bam!, I didn't care if she was truly into him or not. I'd have left, too.
  8. First episode I've watched this season. Lordy lord, so many "likes" I wanted to gouge my eyes out. I might try to watch next week, but I don't know if I can sit through more of this: C: "Like, I thought you would, like, understand but now I find out that, like, you're, like, not my person and I'm, like, I'm just done...." S: "Well, I'm sorry, but like, I just thought you know, like, if you were, like, serious you would have, like, told me and, like I believe everything you are saying but, like I don't know, like, how could you, like, do that...." ********* "Well, I am in love with the other women, Susie. But I love you the most!" Just what every woman wants to hear.
  9. I took a look at that article. Reading it, you would never know this guy stalked a contestant from his season of the bachelor, placed a tracer on her car, sent creepy messages to himself (and also her, I think?) to make himself also look like a victim of the stalker, and in general frightened the contestant to the point where she had to get a restraining order against him. Well, that's the way People magazine rolls (and why I haven't read that rag in decades.) Yesterday's creeper is today's fan favorite.
  10. Not apropos TB, but IIRC: Mighty Big TV --> Television Without Pity --> Previously TV --> Primetimer I don't know what the site was called when it first started as a Dawson's Creek forum. But when I joined it was Mighty Big TV. (I joined for BtVS.) I forget now why they had to change the name to TWoP. Topic: I stop in here occasionally to see what's up with TB, but it's been a few seasons since I watched the show. You guys have confirmed for me that I've missed nothing!
  11. I also thought they were doing this so they could be on another show, something about couples in trouble/getting back with your "ex", etc. And I'm still not ruling it out.
  12. 1. I agree with folks who called Dom out on his unnecessarily detailed description of his intimate activities with Kate. Not cool, I don't care how hurt or angry you might feel about how things turned out. 2. Go check out Kate Griffith's (or David Benadivez's) latest post on Instagram. Good luck, you two lovebirds. Also: Maybe Dave has a magic peen, is that it?
  13. I saw the "where are they now" episode posted yesterday (Friday) as Episode 22 of M:TP Season 12. However, a few little parts of it, such as the brief chat with Gary Maclean, had the sound cut. Maybe to comply with Fair Usage requirements? After visiting some of the former contestants to see how they were faring, the judges held a competition for them back in the MC kitchen. I get that it was a repeat, but I had never seen it. Very enjoyable.
  14. Yes, episode 20 is available now. Our chefs chef'ing in a 2-Michelin star restaurant. It's tense as each chef has a couple of dishes to bang out during what I think is lunch service. And by "bang out" I mean "create with flawless precision again and again". Oh, did I mention 1 chef is eliminated before this challenge? 😩 😢
  15. Oh, that's right, I forgot about Katherine losing to Taylor Hicks. Still, I figured that the clue referred to her and Chris in their season of AI.
  16. Ha, the Rottweiler says he lost to a Cat, but he's not going to lose to Flamingo or Fox. Chris Daughtry lost AI, Katherine McPhee won that season. Case closed. Right?
  17. Just caught Episode 19 - "Chef's Table", where they cook for other well-known industry folk. Honestly, maybe my favorite Chef's Table ever!
  18. Haha, that sultry promo has jazzy, bluesy "Feeling Good" playing, and then suddenly, there's Beaver Cleaver.
  19. TVbitch, you are so right! Second pop-up was also good; I noticed that this time Marcus/Monica did not say "everyone got votes".
  20. Recent winner of The Voice Germany, Claudia Emmanuella Santoso (also look for her cover of Run by Snow Patrol, it was great):
  21. I just realized, this season isn't the same without Adam there to throw someone under the bus....
  22. Who won the sing-off? I turned off my TV after the two girls were voted into the sing-off. So Ricky Braddy didn't go through, but Kat Hammock did. All righty. That's why I usually stop watching about this point--because the world as I know it just stops making a little more sense the longer I watch. Also, I think John Legend was surprised that Marybeth made it through. I think he expected Kate and Will, and then he was going to pick Alex. Oh, and remind me again: Who is Marybeth Bird? I'm drawing a blank. ETA: I'm glad Shane was selected. Maybe Kelly figured the 2 girls would have a good shot at the audience vote. Or maybe she figured they were CHILDREN and they had had a good experience on the show, and they'd be fine, whereas Shane needed to continue and get that little extra bit of exposure and experience. If so, good on ya', Kelly.
  23. What is that... that... that... garment Kelly is wearing? 😲
