I’m really liking Nova’s “Ancient Earth” 5 parter so far. I’m currently watching “Part 3: Life Rising”. It’s been fascinating

Man, there’s a lot to unpack in Part 1. It floors me that those Whites killing the buffalos for their skins didn’t bother to make more use of the carcass, including the meat and that those killing the animal and those removing the skins did such poor jobs that only 1 in 4 carcasses produced a useable hide. Americans have been so destructive to the wildlife of this country at various periods, including the extinction of the passenger pigeon (which surprisingly wasn’t mentioned here). It’s no wonder the Buffalo almost went extinct Obviously the spoken/unspoken policy of the American government to kill the Buffalo in order to tame the Native Americans dependent on them was terrible and added to the horrible ways we treated them I kind of felt they should have used someone other than Peter Coyote as narrator for this, maybe a Native American would have been better

My feeling is that Alex had built such a shaky house of cards, using his influence to hide his son’s misdeeds, his drug addiction, his stealing from his clients, that any one of them being exposed would have brought things down for him; the boat accident and Mallory’s death just happened to be the one to do it first. It’s also possible if he had gotten help for his drug addiction, he might not have been so on the edge with his paranoia and desperation that he wouldn’t have killed his family

Part 2 of the “Murdaugh Murders” movie was pretty good and sad with all the people Alex hurt, especially his family. Pullman did a good job

“Murdaugh Murders: The Movie”. 2 parter with Bill Pullman playing Alex Murdaugh. On tonight and tomorrow night First part is pretty interesting so far. Alex is oily and corrupt and the family wields its influence pretty strongly in that town to get out of jams, especially for Paul. Only now that Paul killed Mallory in the boat accident, things will start to fall apart

IMDB says Richard Shoberg hasn’t been on TV since an episode of Blacklist in 2017. The judge character didn’t look like him to me, but a beard can throw things off and I haven’t caught any sightings of Richard in years
