B&B: What's Up Today at Forrester Creations? - Daily Chat
blackwing replied to Aquarius's topic in The Bold And The Beautiful
Those are the exact questions I have been asking. I don't watch live every day and might be a little behind, has this been addressed on the show? The strange thing is that I thought I read somewhere once that Bradley's father in law is an attorney who acts as legal consultant for the show. If this show actually has a corporate lawyer as legal consultant, how can the show be butchering the legality of Carter's "takeover"? He has zero shares. So I too have been wondering how he can so boldly assert "I'm in control" when the actual shareholders could easily just call an emergency meeting, take a vote, and replace him as manager? Well, on this show, almost everyone is a Forrester or a Logan or married to one. Obviously, his biological father and brother, Massimo and Nick Marone, knew, but they have been long gone from the show. Pretty sure that in addition to Brooke, Ridge's wives the first Caroline Spencer and Taylor knew/know. Not sure if the second Caroline knew. I don't think Quinn knew. Not sure if Bill knows. What I don't understand is that on a show where everyone blabs everyone's business to everyone else, how is it that more people don't know? Carter was the adopted brother of Marcus (Donna Logan and Justin Barber's son) who was adopted by Eric Forrester. Does the family knowledge which probably extended to Marcus get passed along at some point to Carter, who is treated like a son by Eric as well? How would Bill Spencer NOT know when his sister Caroline the First knew? And when he has been with so many others (Brooke, Katie, Steffy) who do know? How do they keep such news a secret? Carter has zero chemistry with anyone. The actor is just awful. It's amazing how long he lasted on the show. The character's only role on the show used to be to take his shirt off in background scenes. Then they made him the every-lawyer for the company to give him something to do. I actually feel like they had run out of storyline for him. He seemed to disappear for a long time. But then George Floyd happened and that helped this terrible actor's career. Bradley was committed to increasing the prominence of certain background characters and giving them more prominent roles. Quote from Aaron D. Spears (Justin): Link: https://celebbabylaundry.com/2021/07/the-bold-and-the-beautiful-bb-spoilers-aaron-d-spears-on-justins-future-how-george-floyd-affected-bb/ -
The 82nd Golden Globe Awards (2025)
blackwing replied to BetterButter's topic in The Golden Globe Awards
I'm glad to see that The Day of the Jackal and Eddie Redmayne got nominated. But how did Billy Bob Thornton get nominated for "Landman"? Didn't the show just premiere like a week or two before nominations got announced? Presumably the producers submitted screening episodes, but he can get a nomination just based off of one episode of a new show? If he could get a nomination, I'm disappointed that Kelly Reilly didn't get a nomination for "Yellowstone", which also had a November premiere for its final season. -
I haven't started Season 3 yet and I didn't read the posts discussing Season 3 to avoid spoiling myself just in case I want to watch it. I found Season 2 very frustrating. I absolutely loathe Yasmine and didn't understand why she ate the entire Season 2. I very much dislike Eric. I am not a fan of Kit Harrington, I think he's a very terrible and wooden actor. My favorite character is Rob, but I don't understand why after getting so much exposure (literally) in Season 1, he seemed backburnered in Season 2. I'm ok with Harper although I find many of her choices frustrating. Based on this, am I going to regret watching Season 3? The worst thing is to start a season of a show, hate almost everything about it, and then force myself to stick it out until the bitter end.
-
I am over a year late to the party, but I saw ads for Season 2 so started watching this show. It took me until the 6th episode to realise that this is a Taylor Sheridan show. D'OH!!! I greatly dislike him but I was already too far in to quit. Overall I thought this show was mildly entertaining, but while I love Zoe Saldana, I couldn't stand the actress who plays Cruz. I was hoping that she would make the "noble sacrifice" and the entire house would be visited by a rocket. Nothing about Cruz was believable. It's unbelievable that the father and fiance of Aaliyah wouldn't have done extensive vetting on every single person that comes into contact with their family. This woman shows up out of nowhere at a bar and is all of a sudden the new BFF just like that? What did Aaliyah think Cruz did for a living? Cruz made her way to Spain on the CIA plane. I'm surprised Aaliyah didn't send her a ticket, after all, she was the one that insisted that Cruz attend the wedding. Wouldn't she have had questions about how Cruz got to Spain? Wouldn't she have insisted on getting her flight information? I love Nicole Kidman, but her American accent was awful. I thought she has had a much better American accent in past movies, hasn't she? Here it was like she was attempting a flat growling and it just didn't work. I could have done without the entirety of the storylines about Joe's family. Yes, we get it. Being a mom and being a Lioness is hard. We didn't need so much focus on them. I particularly loathed the bratty teen. And what has happened to Dave Annable? I think he's probably about 45 at most, but he looked like he's in his late 50s. The throwaway line on the show about his grey hair doesn't make up for the fact that he has aged so poorly in such a short period of time. Brothers and Sisters wasn't that long ago, was it? 15 years or so? He was the youngest brother and he was supposed to be in his late 20s, right? I will need to take a break before watching Season 2. If Cruz is back, I hope her acting has improved.

As stated by others, it does seem obvious that Rainwater and the tribe will be involved in the solution. Not sure how it will all work out, but even if the Duttons get to keep everything, there's nothing left. All the horses were sold, all the equipment was sold. Maybe it won't be a working ranch anymore? They could turn it into a dude ranch and just do entertainment. Beth won't like the influx of tourists onto the family land, but it's better than not having the land at all. I have grown to loathe this guy so much. So narcissistic, has to write himself into every show. And every time I turn around, a new Taylor Sheridan show pops up on Paramount like a pimple on a teenaged boy. I vow not to watch "6666" or "Landman". I don't care for the "incredible love story" (gag) of Spencer and world's worst actress Alexandra Dutton on "1923", so whenever it comes back, I hope I can have strong will and abstain from watching. I'm kicking myself for watching "Lioness" having no idea it was a Taylor Sheridan show! Part of me wants Yellowstone to end for good next week so I can try and divest myself of this guy. As much as I like Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser in their roles, if they showed up in a Season 6 or a spinoff that just means more Travis. I think it's safe to assume that Beth was the executor. She is a businesswoman, banker, M&A and very much qualified. The only other candidate would be Jamie, and we know how much John liked him. I didn't even recognise her but I assumed she was the baby mama. How is she even qualified to give him advice. Wasn't she just a campaign assistant? When Jamie first appeared in this episode, I heard a train whistle in the background. I hope that's foreshadowing of him going to the figurative train station. There is the rumoured spinoff. But believe it when it actually happens. The fact that Taylor Sheridan would rather just create as many shows as possible (like Game of Thrones author George RR Martin) instead of focusing on the one that brought him fame in the first place (Yellowstone proper and the book series) says a lot. His lack of attention to Yellowstone proper is what made Kevin Costner quit. I also remember that we were promised a second season of "1883" and then he clarified that he meant the story continues in "1923". Well, it didn't really. It was forty years later. I'd like to think that Teeter is one of the show's heroines, but I don't understand why he wrote her as this backwards hick that talks like she has marbles in her mouth. I don't think they've ever explained why she sounds like that. I've met people from Texas and none of them sound like her.

I enjoyed this episode, the hospital situation was exciting. And both Miles and Dante felt fully integrated into the story instead of just being shoehorned in for the sake of being there. I couldn't figure out exactly why Dante was on that team. I know he was in New York because of his dad and trying to decide whether to go back to L.A. or stay in New York. So he asked for leave from the L.A. team. But how did he end up connected with this team? Or was it the same team? It wasn't explained very well and I thought the team from L.A. was somehow in New York because they were tracking down that woman. If it was a New York team, how did Dante seem to know the traitor so well? And why is it so easy to just join a new team? "Hey uh I'm on vacation but I'm feeling bored, got any dangerous jobs you need help with?" I like Robyn with Miles better. They have history and they share a daughter together. He is now ok with her job, and that was the impediment before, and wants this. Robyn and Dante are better just as colleagues. They have zero chemistry together. He comes across as needy and insecure to me. No doubt he will decide to stay in New York but this whole triangle is forced. Did Robyn invite Dante to that bar? It sounded like he just showed up randomly and she was surprised to see him. I like Delilah and her boyfriend together. She was not annoying. Loved how Robyn's head instantly shot up when she saw them kissing. Good acting from Latifah. I must have missed that. Too funny. The only gifts I heard were taco slippers (what is wrong with those, they seem fun), a Lego pet cat (!!!) and calabasas-scented candles (not sure what that is). Mel, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a Lego cat. I would love if anyone would buy me Lego for Christmas!

B&B: What's Up Today at Forrester Creations? - Daily Chat

I heard what Justin said, but I don’t agree. An LLC is owned by its members (partners). The LLCs I have seen don’t have a “manager”. They have a managing member who is chosen from amongst the members to make decisions on behalf of all the members. Even if the members signed the document and appointed Carter as “manager”, they could just as easily sign a new document that unappoints him. Carter doesn’t have any shares/ membership units in Forrester Creations, does he? Without any ownership interest, he won’t get any votes or say in what the members do. -
Was anyone else confused by what the actual dessert in the first round was supposed to be? Even with the full clue? It said that the pistachio was in the crust and the ganache. The lemon was in the mousse and the curd. So based on the tart tin, the dome mold, and the surprise little ball mold, I think they said it was a dome tart with lemon mousse surrounding a lemon curd filling on a pistachio crust tart filled with pistachio ganache. Was that it? I thought ganache was an icing? Like chocolate ganache? Good for all three teams to at least get the form correct. How come none of those items were red herrings like in the past? Same with the final dessert. All teams got a round cake on a square cake decorated with cookie tiles. How is it that they all reached that conclusion? What if one of the tins/pans wasn't used and was just a red herring? In the end, I think Lenore and Jessica were the deserved winners. They have been the best detectives throughout the season and some of their work has been amazing. They nailed the final dessert, they were the only ones to identify the curd as orange and not lemon. And the only ones to bake an orange semolina olive oil cake. There was a poster of possible designs for the cookies and there were stencils. There was a cardboard with two square stencils, there was the blue colour spray on the edges of one and the orange colour on the other one. I'm assuming there was only one tile that had both colours. I'm with you, how did they know to put the cookies on the cake? Why couldn't the cookies have just been a plate of cookies on the side? And decorated the cake with the same pattern as the pattern on the cookies? Is putting cookies on a cake a thing? I've never seen it.

Rachel still has her block a vote. So next round, when there are six people left, and they assume that it's now 3-3 with Andy voting with Sam and Genevieve, I assume she will just use it to block one of their votes and she, Sue and Teeny have their pick of who to send home. I would assume it will be Andy... they will see him as dangerous and unpredictable and someone who just pulled off a major move that might be rewarded by the jury. If Andy has indeed become the producer's darling this year (6 episode title quotes must count for something), I'm assuming it's about time for some Ben Driebergenish shenanigans to gift Andy a not-so-hidden idol. When was the last time a full-out flipper won the game? There have of course been people who flipped. But Andy flips almost every week. Seems to me that the juries tend not to like flippers.
-
Like Genevieve said, there were so many ways the plan could have gone wrong. I'm amazed it actually worked. I half expected the majority to hint to Genevieve that she was going home to flush her (fake) idol, and then put all the votes on Sam anyways. Even if Genevieve actually had an idol, there's little chance she would have played it for Sam. And they could just get Genevieve out the following week. I believe Andy has had the episode title 6 times in a row now? Is this some kind of signal that Andy wins? I hope not. I used to like Rachel and Teeny but I'm not sure why they turned on Sam so badly. Sam was allied with Sol and Teeny was Sol's #1 so why wouldn't Teeny have tried to join with Sam? I also don't understand when Rachel dropped him. They were original Gata and they were at the bottom, how did she get so entrenched with the blue tribe so quickly? I still don't like Andy. He is so smug and thinks he is a better player than he is. He was not faking his breakdown... he was a really bad player who has somehow survived because nobody thinks he is a strong player. His plan worked mainly because it didn't even occur to the rest of them that witless Andy was playing them. He built up that witless reputation for a good reason. I don't understand why players get SO ANGRY about not being chosen for reward. This happens every season. We had Liz begging Q to take her last season since they had the EXACT BURGER she dreamed about and she could get a letter from her daughter and feel connected, and then Q shut it down with "you voted for me" and then we got the epic "I'm PISSSSSSEEEEDDDDD. Now we see Teeny, who seems otherwise a calm and collected person, go on a tantrum because Sam didn't pick her. Why would Sam pick her? She voted with the blue tribe against Sam and Sierra. She made it clear that she wasn't going to change her mind and vote with Sam and Genevieve. So why would Sam pick her? She gets on her high horse and is all "well, you need my vote and you should have picked me" but I very much doubt she would have helped him. She hated him before the reward challenge (she said she's been trying to get him out for a while), she hated him after. I'm a bit confused about Teeny, didn't she say she is nonbinary? So then why does she say she wants an "all women final" referring to the four of them? If she doesn't consider herself female and says she is nonbinary, why does she count herself as a woman amongst the rest?

Hah. I'm glad I am not the only one that immediately thought of Charlie's Angels. The whole prison scenario was kind of ridiculous. Robyn gets transferred in just because a guy in a "federal agent" uniform says so? Wouldn't there have been paperwork? The more ridiculous one was Mel. New guard shows up and no one questions it? Did Dante or Harry get her in? And again, no one thought to confirm? It's that easy to just pretend to work at a prison? I think she's being a good friend. She wanted the captain for herself but she saw how taken he was with Vi so graciously stepped aside. And since then, has actively tried to get the two of them together. I am tired of Dante's worried look. He moved to L.A., what did he expect was going to happen? I am perfectly fine with Robyn and Miles being together over Dante.

I was surprised at how quickly the Doomsday and Luthor battles were resolved, but it was for the better, because of the amazing ending scenes. This show has always been more about family and less about superheroing. I liked that they wrapped things up in the end. I had thought the sun was healing his damaged heart. He said he lived 32 more years, so if he was 45 at the end of the series, he lived to 77. I would have thought he would have lived longer, but if they really are saying that Sam's 60 year old heart was damaged, the heart lasted until age 92. I do have some minor quibbles/questions: Didn't John Henry say that he had invented some kind of doohickey that would disable the suit? I thought it was going to block the kryptonite power or something. Lois taunted Luthor so she could slap that magnetic doohickey on him, and to me it seemed like the doohickey did absolutely nothing. Amanda belongs in prison with Luthor. She was basically forced into doing that interview which didn't happen anyways because of Milton. Lois could have argued on her behalf to get the sentence mitigated, but she at least deserved 10 years in prison. So as he is dying, before he enters the afterlife and sees Lois, he sees important people in his life. His sons, Lana and John Henry... and Lex?! What about Jonathan and Martha and Sam? What about Holo-Mom? Lex was deemed more important to his life than any of his parents? The two adult sons looked like identical twins to me, I couldn't figure out which one was which. Noticed that they FINALLY cut Jordan's hair hahaha. One of them was married to someone who resembled Candace, but not sure if it was supposed to be her. But neither of them were Sarah, so I guess that book closed for Jordan. Was Sophie even at the wedding? Not sure if I even saw her, but it would have been funny if Lana had said "Sophie who? Oh, she's away at camp." at her own wedding. I liked the costumes for the boys. Jon's looked more like Conner Kent's - blue top, red pants. While Jordan's was reversed. More of a red top with blue pants. Wish we had gotten better looks at them and I wish they had told us whether they were using code names. "Fraternal One" and "Fraternal Two" doesn't cut it. All in all, this was a very satisfying series finale. I will miss this show. It all went by so fast, indeed.

Not Ian Bohen. The ranchhand on the show who sings country songs on the show all the time. The guy with the sad eyes. His character met some buckle bunny or barrel racer who started hanging out with the ranchhands. Those two actors got married in real life.
-
I feel like the death was unnecessary. Colby and Teeter survived that awful attack in the pond. They were the only couple amongst the cowboys. Why kill him? If it was just to emphasize the fragility of life and how someone young could still die on the ranch, they could have killed that middle aged guy that talked to the old guy. The actor didn't even get a good memorable death scene. He just got kicked by a horse, and we didn't even see it that well. The forcefulness of the kick didn't come across on TV for me, to the point where I assumed he was going to survive, it looked like he just got a minor hit on the chest. Instead, he apparently instantly died. And even though the show is almost over, it would have been nice to make up stories for what happens to them after the show. Colby and Teeter get married, they live on the ranch. Rip takes over the general operations and Teeter becomes head ranchhand. There's also rumour that Rip and Beth might get a season 6 or a spinoff... in which case Teeter and Colby could have appeared.
-
I agree, Colby was likeable, and I liked him with Teeter, they complemented each other well and I don't understand why they had to kill off Colby. If a death had to happen at the ranch, why not kill off the old guy? It would have been very symbolic, this guy has been there forever (even if many people can't even remember his name LOL) and his death may or may not symbolize the death of the ranch. I would much rather have had Jimmy and his squashed potato face killed off, but I assume that Taylor Sheridan intends for him to headline "6666", whenever that show starts filming. I have hated Jimmy from the beginning. Didn't need to see him here, and even though the show stopped cramming Jimmy down our throats, he still annoyed me. Is the actor who is playing Tate being told to play him as a dry, monotone, sullen teenager? Or is that his own acting choice and he really is that bad of an actor? I know the character has to be around to inherit the ranch and fulfill James Dutton's prophetic pronouncement, but I wish they had recast the actor once it became clear that this one sucks.

I thought this was a good episode with significant plot and character development. The detective that spoke with Jamie, sounds like he already knows that Sarah's death was a targeted hit, and not the random carjacking that the media made it out to be. Why wouldn't he have shown up with a warrant in hand? Especially after knowing what Casey told him. I get that he needed Jamie to give him probable cause. But couldn't he have gotten a warrant in advance, based on Sarah's connection to Market Equities and their confrontational dealings with John? He could have asked for Jamie's cooperation, and when Jamie refused, present him with the warrant. Surely he could have found a friendly judge to grant the warrant. Instead, he gave Jamie the opportunity to shred all of Sarah's incriminating documents. I hope he gets a warrant for Market Equities as well and finds some evidence there. I am not a fan of all the cowboy stuff (particularly the promotion of anything to do with 6666), but I thought it actually had purpose here. And the scenes really showed Rip's business acumen, that he needs to raise money to pay the estate tax so he has to sell some cattle. She is not a maternal person at all, but I thought she was great here. Showing Carter that she considers him one of the family. Weren't Rip and Beth going to adopt him? Or was it just an informal adoption? Yep. I had been wondering what happened to Colby, he obviously wasn't with Teeter in Texas but I don't think we had seen him at the Yellowstone. We only saw the old guy and one other guy and Carter. So when he popped up in this episode and told Teeter he loved her, it was unfortunately the kiss of death for him. Whatever happened to the country singer cowboy's girlfriend? Was she one of those buckle bunnies that Rip threw out? I think the actors got married in real life. Kayce let Grant know that he (and his black ops team) are on to Grant, Market Equities, and the murder of John. I suppose he could have just killed him right there, but Kayce wanted Grant to be scared and make all of the killers scared as well. And to make sure that they are well aware that if anything happens to any of the Duttons, that he is prepared to kill everyone in Grant's family.

Murdoch Mysteries - General Discussion
blackwing replied to The Crazed Spruce's topic in Murdoch Mysteries
This was an enjoyable episode. I liked the Christmas theme and the separate storylines. Murdoch and Choi, alone with no one to celebrate with, spend Christmas Eve helping the Irish couple and going to Miss Hart's place. The Brackenreid party was hilarious. I was thrilled to see Ruth, I was convinced we weren't going to get anymore of her this season. She was a complete hoot as always. Especially when she was jealous that someone was trying to steal her Henny Penny! Nice to see Miss Hart get engaged to the guy we have seen before. I have to confess that I don't recall the guy that Watts went home with. Looked to me like he was making eyes at the trumpet player all night. We didn't see George or Effie. I think George is supposed to be holed up in some rustic cabin far away while writing his book? Sad that he didn't come home for Christmas. I noticed that Jonny Harris' name has finally been dropped from the credits. And Daniel Maslany and Shanice Banton got solo credits, normally they have to share with someone else. Lachlan Murdoch, however, still was listed as a shared credit with Arwen Humphries, even though both of them have been on the show much longer than Maslany or Banton. Is the show on hiatus until the spring? It's nice that U.S. airings of the show this season are the same week as the Canadian airings. I was trying to figure out why they aired a Christmas episode already when it is still the end of November. -
It was not surprising at all that the killer was the art teacher. The pose of the Jane Doe looked too much like one of the paintings he liked. Also not surprising was the Alberg daughter's friend who thought she could be his girlfriend even though he's easily in his 30s. What a twit. There were only two possible suspects, and the show spent so much time on the actor ex-boyfriend just to make us think he was the killer. Why was this character even on the show? Complete waste of time. Of course at the end, Karl and Cassandra get together. Also not surprising. I'm glad that there wasn't a whole lot of angst about their whole breakup before they got back together. I don't know if this show is going to get renewed. If it comes back, it'd be nice if there were a few changes. For one, even though this show is called "Murder in a Small Town", I never got the sense that it is in fact a small town. In a small town, everybody knows everybody. Most of these people seem like complete strangers to each other. Also, I know this show filmed on location in Gibsons, British Columbia, but the show itself did very little to showcase the town or the area. I feel like all we saw were a few homes, the pier, the bar, the coffee shop, the library, and a few scenes in the woods. If your show is going to be called "Murder in a Small Town" I would think the town itself should almost be a character. This was the same issue I had with another TV adaptation of a Canadian author's mystery book series, Louise Penny and the mediocre "Three Pines". The relationship drama between Karl and Cassandra took a back burner during the last several episodes, and the show benefitted from it. I wish this show was more of a procedural with the pace of a procedural. The character development that we got on the supporting characters was uneven. I thought one of the more interesting characters was the art teacher. But we didn't even get any kind of understanding as to why he killed at least three people, did we? They just explained it away as "the urge" to kill every six years. Why? It seems like with Karl asking him if there were any others, maybe if the show gets renewed, he comes back and his story isn't done? We didn't get any answers. And because the teacher turned out to be a serial killer, does that mean the Alberg daughter's friend's ex-boyfriend's expulsion gets rescinded? After all, he was the one that said something wasn't right about the art teacher.

Getting to Genoa You All Over Again: Y&R Daily Chat

Phyllis' hair used to be a lot redder. Nowadays there's a lot more blonde in there. I remember when Gina Tognoni took over the part, she made some post about turning red. Lauren's hair, like Phyllis, nowadays it has more blonde in it. But there was a time when it was a lot redder, and more darker red. That's how she acquired the nickname "the Irish Setter", because her mane very much resembled the colour of the dog breed. -
I feel like we are being cheated, seems like there is so much story left to tell and there is only one episode left. Things that need to get resolved: 1) Clark/Lois vs. Luthor, 2) Doomsday, 3) Clark's health/heart, 4) Lois' reputation, 5) the boys' developing powers and are they ever going to get codenames This was a good episode, setting up the grand battle between Superman and a Kryptonite-armour enhanced Lex Luthor. I wanted Clark to teach the boys how to work together to take him down... I think that is going to be the key to how they help in a battle against Doomsday and/or Lex. I'm so tired of the Amanda character. I half-expected Luthor to throw her out the window of his high rise apartment last week. I get that this is a no-name actress who probably doesn't cost a whole lot, but I would have much rather had John Henry and Natalie on the entire season instead of her. Or Lana. I bet Emmanuelle Chiriqui would have taken a pay cut in order to appear in the whole season. Are we going to get to say goodbye to John Henry, Natalie, Lana, Sarah and Kyle next week? I hope they appear.

I liked all of the plots except for everything to do with Dante. The comedian being targeted for murder because he was mean to everyone in his life was a good storyline, although I thought it was obvious from the beginning that it was going to be that friend that wrote all his jokes and never got any credit. Great that Vi doesn't have cancer, I hope the show showcases more of her delicious sounding cooking. I also appreciated Delilah's storyline. Like many high school seniors, she is thinking about college and I thought this was a very real look at the decisions that one faces. Mel is firmly back on the team. I used to root for Robyn and Dante getting together, but now I just don't care. I couldn't care less about Dante's dad, Dante's issues with his dad, Dante's issues with his mom, Dante and Robyn. Ship has sailed. I would be much more interested in seeing her working with Miles. The team could use someone with medical knowledge. I don't think it's Latifah, I just think it's poor writing. These two don't strike me as anything other than friends and colleagues.

So the scenes in the beginning with Beth still in Texas and driving back to Montana, and Kayce and family fixing up their new house, were to establish what they were doing at the time that John was killed. And we saw the actual murder. Did Rip go back to Texas or is he still in town? I don't think we saw him leaving or have seen Beth on the phone with him. He works in the state capitol building, presumably there are metal detectors at the entrances. That would prevent guns and knives. It doesn't prevent Beth or Kayce coming in and slapping or beating the hell out of him. But presumably, the secretary would normally call security who would come to assist. In the previous episode when Beth was slapping him around, the Market Equities guy barked at the assistant to call security, and Jamie told her not to. This part is absolutely ridiculous. Presumably, the Governor's Mansion would have armed security guards. Not just one dude sitting in a booth who thought it was odd that the security system got deactivated. Since some of John's actions had proven unpopular, you would think that there would be an increased presence of security. It seems evident that the guy she hired to do the hit is now covering their tracks. I was surprised she was killed so quickly and easily. Can't say I will miss her. At this point, Jamie is toast and he knows it. He was on the phone with her when she was killed. He knows that his number is in her phone. I would think he will try and retrieve the phone but there will still be records. He can try and explain this away but I don't see any scenario in which he gets away with it. If he somehow comes out of all of this free and smelling like roses, it would be a sad ending to the series. To me the only plausible endings would be 1) prison for conspiracy to commit murder, 2) suicide, or 3) getting killed by the team that Sarah hired.

The immunity challenge featured Jeffy's favourite challenge prop: BALLS. The bigger the better. He just loves talking about the male contestants' balls and seemed to do so frequently. He seemed exuberant as he joyfully exclaimed "and ANOTHER gust of wind is moving Sam's balls!!!" Maybe I am 12, but if I was a contestant, I might have cracked up a little and lost concentration. He's going to be insufferable at final tribal and make his question all about him. And some finalist will kiss up to him and say "well my big moment was getting you out because you were a threat" and then he will preen and act fake humble. At least there's not the "hey it's my moment to SHINE" anymore where they each get called up one by one and stand up to ask their question. Nowadays it seems that Jeffy just calls on them and they stay in their seats.

The rubber ducks are a real thing on cruise ships. I've never heard of any safety issues. The last cruise we took, my kids found a couple. One was sitting in one of those sit down riding games in the arcade. The other was a small magnetic duck inside one of the elevators. The storyline never did resolve itself. Presumably nobody won the big prize because the old guy ate the golden duck. They never explained the giant duck either. We saw it in the opening moments of the episode and then never again. On Facebook there are groups for each particular cruise line. Usually someone creates a dedicated group for each week's sailing. There are frequently posts about hiding or finding rubber ducks in those groups. It's more like a fun diversion, not a massive "movement" like Loretta Devine kept saying. She made it sound like people dedicate their lives to these ducks. Umm... no. Kids enjoy hiding ducks and finding them. It gives them something to do and something to be excited about. I've seen posts on Facebook where someone will share a photo of the collection of ducks they found that week. I don't know what happens to them. I presume the kids take them home or leave them onboard. I very much doubt they throw them overboard like Max claimed everyone did.

I wish this show spent more time on the actual baking. Instead, this show is so formulaic. They get 3 or 4 hours to bake. We see the teams discussing the clues and what they think they should make. Joel comes in and chats with them. Some jokes, "what are you making", banter. Then he leaves and goes to the next team. Cut to Curtis and Yolanda slowly walking by each pod and observing. Cut to Curtis and Yolanda with their comments. "All teams are making some variation of a lemon mousse tiered cake. However, Harry and Hermione are the ONLY team to put fresh mint in between the layers. If fresh mint is an element in the mystery dessert, it could make a huge difference in advance them to the next round!" Then ALL OF A SUDDEN, there are TWO MINUTES LEFT and the bakers are scrambling to finish decorating. Judging etc. "REVEAL THE MYSTERY DESSERT!" "please be a blueberry pavlova, blueberry pavlova" "I want to see a cube and lots of flowers, cube and flowers!" Too much formula. Campbell Soup Kids... spit take! Now that you said it, I can't unsee it. Agree that they were annoying (particularly the way that Katelyn talked like she was explaining things to a five year old) and agree completely that Janusz is annoying. I think with the two family teams here, it seemed clear that Daniel and Katelyn were the bakers or the lead bakers. But other family teams (Kai and Starlett and the sisters and the uncle/niece) they seemed like equals. I just looked at the Wikipedia page. I did not know that Jesse and Justin are brothers-in-law. I had thought they were just friends. They competed with the friends teams. The friends teams on this episode, all four of them are experienced. Lenore and Jessica are the team where each of them has her own bakery. Janusz competed on The Great British Bakeoff / Baking Show. Someone said that Keiran was a contestant on some other baking show.
