Thanks, 17wheatthins. (I feel I know you so well by now...may I call you 17wt? ;) ) So, the guys were a touring comedy group before the show? Interesting... I wonder whether this was a full time gig for them, or did they have day jobs? -

Can anyone explain what the "Tenderloin" reference is in the credits? Is that the name of their production company? -
Here's how I see it: Juan Carlos is a character, and a mildy amusing one at that. If his skating was great, I could see the argument for putting him through, at least as fodder for the more talented acts. But his skating isn't good, it's just average...not even bad enough to be a "so bad it's good" act.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that the living room looks almost identical after the "make-over". -

17wheatthins, I guess I haven't seen the "Larry" episode yet...what is Joe screaming "Larry" all about? -

Just saw the Ja'Crispy episode last night, as well as the singles mixer (was it the same show?) Anyway, Sal is my favorite as well. He can take a challenge and almost make it logical: he's a guy who knows how to get the crowd/individual on his side. -
Film Dubbing is never used enough! It always cracks me up, and I think we've only seen it a couple of times since the show came back with its current cast.

I've only started watching this, but comparing earlier shows to this most recent season, I feel the show seems to have really gelled...the humor is funny, but not mean-spirited, because it's not innocent bystanders who are the butt of the jokes - it's the four guys. I'm loving this series so much, and am also amazed that it seems to get away with so much "adult" humor...I suppose the laughter makes it all the more acceptable. Thank you, tru.tv! -
Isn't the 48th act the one that the "Today" show audiences were choosing? I think I saw the three they were choosing from: three teens who do complex domino set-ups, a Bollywood dance-style acrobatics group, and a second, more sports-oriented acrobatics group.

When is anything ever logical or easy with this show?

Female singers: count me as an Emily fan (the woman who looks like Jenna Elfman during her "Dharma and Greg" days, except w/ kookier hair), and I'm usually not a fan of any kind of singers on this show, as there are other TV opportunities for them. (We're looking at YOU, Rejects from American Idol.) But by golly, I like the iconoclastic cut of Emily's jib, and her song interpretations are original and haunting. So, if we must have singers, she'll do. Her, and the female opera duo that got put straight through. Comedianne Wendy Liebman is exactly how I remember. Her signature style of pausing, then tacking on a few words to the end of sentence which flips its entire meaning has not changed. Which makes it even harder to imagine why the show runners think we wouldn't remember her. Or maybe they're hoping we do?

"The Daily Show": Week of 7/21/14

Attica and ABay, please reconsider: this is a movie worth seeing. It's like watching someone's life unspool in front of you, and in this case, the lives involved are not of the privileged kind. I doubt anyone will go through the trouble of constructing something like this again. -
The GR head (Patty? sorry, name escapes me) grinned because she knew that while HotCop was locking her up in the van and claiming victory, her minions were really out around the town breaking into houses and stealing photographs. HotCop finally figured out something was up at the last second before he shut the door when he asked her, "Hey, where's everyone else in your group?"

Exactly!

Oh Lord... just shoot me now. There is only hopelessness and bleakness in this Leftover World, with not even a hint of dark, sly, gallows humor. In normal human communities, dark humor would show itself in some way or form after a catastrophe, as a coping mechanism, if nothing else. Perhaps that's why it's not only the under-written characters and circumstances of this show that bug me : it's the fact that no one on this show is written to react as a real person would.

I don't know how many episodes "Hollywood Game Night" already has in the can, but whatever the amount, we all could have lived with this one never seeing the light of day.

Perhaps I'm over-thinking this, but in addition to the lack of security, wouldn't the casino also have deducted some of the cash for taxes? So, he shouldn't have walked out of there with the complete $160,000. I wonder if the care-taker was still watching Donna Moss after three days. -
Yup, I agree some of the candy pictures looked a bit "off"...those junior mints appeared to be the wrong size, in addition to a strange shade of very dark brown, as Taeolas had noted.
