The personal finances on this show drive me crazy. Unless Arizona is renting a mansion, she clearly should be able to afford rent. And at her income, she would most likely buy, not rent. The have to stop acting like attendings are first years. And she is an owner. How poorly is this hospital run that they are impoverished? I get the feeling that Kevin McKidd got some feedback on his face swallowing kissing style. While he was still overly aggressive, at least he kept his mouth closed and didn't try to swallow her entire head like a snake eating a rat. I used to find him so sexy. His make out scenes ruined that for me.

With Bev having an aneurysm because she didn’t tell the doctors about supplements she was taking for menopause, it shifts the blame for her problems back to Bev the lying liar who lies. As we know, Bev is always the worst. CruiseDiva thanks for explaining the differences between an aneurysm and a stroke. This show always gets the medicine wrong. This is one of the shows I cannot watch with Dr. Muffyn because he scoffs so much we can’t get through it. The saga of Gunnar and Scarlett bothers me. If she has decided that their relationship does not work and chooses to move on, then you move on. They are turning Gunnar into creepy ex-boyfriend who feels entitled to her regardless of her feelings. Should she go back to him because he’s mopey? Then again, there is ridiculous conceit of her living with Dr. Dull without them having said “I love you”. ETA: John Ramos, do not take back what you said about Gunnar's hair! It's hideous. Are they trying to completely destroy his appeal?

There needs to be a new warning label for shows: STF – show includes Steven Tyler Face. I have never been so glad that I was not watching in HD. Why would they show a close up of him? What have we done to deserve that? The only reason I can come up with for the thumpa-thumpa gay bar was Will’s guy thought they wouldn’t be recognized there. Otherwise, makes no sense.

I love Funches but I cannot watch Unwatchable, er, Undateable. Chris D'elia is so unfunny. I cannot do anything that would encourage anyone to keep putting him on TV.

Manzo'd With Children - General Discussion

I win the internet today! One of my titles was used for this thread. -
Two different topics that were going on in this thread being addressed in one post. The issues regarding disabilities had nothing to do with your posts. They were addressed to a different conversation regarding picking up slack for people off for medical issues. In regards to people constantly being on social media at work, drives me crazy too. When I am in a leadership position, I address it. I also see it as a new way for slackers to be slackers. Over my too damn long career I've worked with people who would read books at work, hidden under the work they were supposed to be doing, hide in the file room while doing nothing, spend all day chatting in the break room. With the advent of computers and shared file systems, copy other people's work files and make minor changes without asking permission to use the base materials or checking for relevancy. There was also a woman who sat behind me and called her husband at least ten times a day and spoke baby talk the whole time. When we re-stacked the office, I had her moved away from me. I had an acquaintance that I was linked to on facebook. I had known her better 20 years ago. She was always a terrible person to work with, coming in late and leaving early, hanging out at home when she was supposed to be driving, etc. She was not working and her partner had a job. They would contact each other on FB on average 30 times a day. When she was looking for work, she kept getting rejected for jobs. Why? People would look her up on FB and see this behavior. She finally found a short-term job with chance for permanent placement. She was let go early. Also her partner got reprimanded at work for spending too much time on social media and they blocked access to FB and moved her office to an area of the building with bad cell reception. The thing is, I don't see this behavior in most people, just some. And the behavior has always been there; it is just a new medium through which it is expressed. For some people newer to the workforce, there is a learning curve during which they need to understand that your phone is not for fun during the workday and unless text messages are critical they can wait. With all of that said, I was not meaning to insult you or to say that your point was not well taken. I was not addressing your point. I was responding to different posters.

Clearly I’m on a roll tonight, so adding to what I said earlier. I don’t usually share details of my health or family issues on this board. However, I can only support those that do. If by posting their health concerns, family issues or other challenges people receive some feeling of support, a sense of belonging to a community or a sense of peace, keep posting. If we do nothing else in this world, offering comfort and support to even one person makes our efforts worthwhile. Now I’ll crawl back into my hole and work on my writing.

ChocolateAddict, I work in tech so I use my phone for my schedule, alarm clock, email for multiple accounts, games when I'm trapped somewhere and about to go crazy, transit news, text messaging, and on and on. So I feel ya! I'm 53 and many of the people I know also use their phones this way, especially those who work on the road. Some also view videos (screen's too small for my taste), video chat with their kids when we're on the road, etc. The thing I've noticed is there will always be complaints of "kids these days". When I was young, we had teachers who complained that we were lazy and stupid. Their generation was so superior. My great grandmother used to complain about people using their cars to go places or, as she would say, "Did you take the machine?" Later in her life, if we took the machine she would then figure out maybe we could run an errand or two for her or drop her by somewhere. I've heard complaints about watching too much TV, playing video games, being home alone after school, being from single families, using microwaves, using cell phones, travelling too much; you get the idea. IMO each generation complains about what is new or different for the next generation. It's not actually better or worse; it's just different opportunities, new technologies, different lifestyles. Society changes and we change with it. As for people with medical issues, I have had 49 medical procedures, some minor, some major. I have had cancer multiple times. I had cancer related surgery during my sophomore year of college. I finished the year while doing chemo. I also share a genetic disorder with my siblings. One died 6 years ago, one is in long term care and one has had four major heart surgeries. They are in their 50s. With all of my surgeries, I have missed no more than a month's work total. I scheduled facial reconstruction during a project break over the winter holidays so I would not miss work. I had dual knee surgeries and was on a plane for work two days later. I am very close to being a million mile flier. I was only stopped by a major neck injury two years ago that kept me off the road. I switched positions to be able to work from home, including supporting a customer in Australia thereby shifting to a schedule for which I worked until midnight my time. I own a home and live financially conservatively because I have to plan for the fact that I may have to retire very early if my disability progresses more rapidly. I have been a top performer at every job I have held in the last 20 years. So while I can understand people's complaints about people not holding up their end of the work, please understand that people with disabilities and those with major health conditions are in a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. It is hard to get hired if someone is aware of your disability. If you're not working, it is hard to pay your way. The vast majority of people feel better about themselves if they are able to contribute in some way. I'm going to keep working as long as I can. I am also going to do everything I need to do to keep being able to walk. Along the way, I will have people accuse me of wearing braces I don't need and lying about surgeries. I will have people laugh about some aspects of my disability. I will have ignorant people lecture me that if I only did x, y or z all of my problems would go away. I'll just let it roll off my back and keep going. That's the only thing I can do.

Commercials That Annoy, Irritate or Outright Enrage

That's it! I am bringing a flamethrower to the grocery store. All of those "veggies" containing meals are going up in flames. As for ki-en, a colleague of mine who was raised in New Jersey and also lived in Florida for a long time, had picked up this manner of speaking. When discussing payroll processing, he would say "third party remi-ance". I finally told him there are two Ts in remittance, I wanted him to pronounce at least one of them. He countered with I needed to pronounce the S on the end of Stanislaus (a county in California). I pointed out I had two great grandfathers named Stanislaus and neither pronounced the final S, so I would not be doing so now. Point and match to Muffyn! -
Maybe they're taking Nick away because he smells so bad it makes it harder to tell when zombies are around? Okay, more realistically when medical and scene control training for extreme emergency situations, they did emphasize that you need to deal with mentally unstable people first. They can keep you from being able to help others. So away with Nick and depressed neighbor. They don't want altered decision making on their parts harming others. Then again, once I learned Nick was stealing the morphine, I hoped dying guy would die, turn and take out Nick. Then we would learn if junkie zombies still crave drugs. I get the feeling it was unintentional, but I too had the thoughts about the white woman being angry that a Latina was not doing housekeeping duties. Her and her silly trying to take care of sick people focus. Doesn't she know Maddie has a towel to dry and some dishes to wash?

The hair has been horrible this season. We've had the extra greasy looking hair and enough high ponies to compete in dressage. I think the problem is a mix of the stylists and the designers. We haven't seen any particularly good suggestions from the stylists. And we have seen designer after designer ask for a high pony. They really need someone with a clue about hair.

Hey now, Vicki works. She works! SHE WOOOOOOOOOORKS! Or so she has screeched at us many a time.

Clooney has two Oscars also, so the first two weeks have been Academy Award winner filled. The dance for An American in Paris was really beautiful. I agree, the direction was off. I don't mind the occasional closeup but the timing was off for many of the close shots. Still, this was a great change to the show closing number. I would also like it if they occasionally ended with a new comic. So many comics used to get known through late show appearances. -

I see Dorinda coming out with an eyebrow wax line. Not one for removing the brows; instead she'll market something similar to mustache wax and use her daughter with the Groucho brows to promote it. -

Commercials That Annoy, Irritate or Outright Enrage

Jimmy John's is known for using large quantities of mayonnaise on their sandwiches. We used to order from them on a project I worked on. I ended up having to leave a meeting because I had so much mayo on my face, I looked like the money shot from a porno. Let's just say, I'm not a fan of Jimmy John's and their crappy, mayo-laden sandwiches. -

I am finding this show better and better. I just caught the show with Trevor Noah and Secretary General Moon and really enjoyed both interviews. Steven seems to be calming down and settling into the show quite well. Then I watched Lupita Nyongo and Bernie Sanders. I enjoyed both, very different, interviews. Lupita's funny walk was so silly. Frankly, I found myself laughing out loud several times in each episode. I am really happy Steven has taken over the Late Show. -

I enjoyed seeing Alec and Simon again. They are so very odd that to me they were always entertaining. all of the audition tapes were fun, but I really liked theirs. When I first saw Kelly, I immediately noticed that she still has incredible legs. Wow. Then they focused on her overly-tanned face and yikes. I actually do feel bad for her because of how horribly scary island was shown. The women attacked, she attacked too, and then she fell apart quite spectacularly on national TV. She was right about one thing - it is hard to recover from that. I could have done without ever seeing Aviva again. At least she admitted she had planned to throw her leg. That whole scene was so ridiculous. -
This would make me feel better. At least someone other than your SIL is reviewing their finances. He shouldn't be trusted with the proceeds from a bake sale, let alone budgeting for a family in a foreign country. I applaud your going to this meeting and confronting them. They need to know that someone outside of their group is watching what is happening. Way to go HFC!
