The Lonely Js Club: James, Jackson & Johannah
Muffyn replied to SpaghettiTuesdays's topic in Counting On
Okay, I had a really creepy thought. Jeremy has a J name. So it's like Jinger is courting one of the J'slaves. I need a shower. -
For his sermons, he only posts outlines. So Derick does speak extemporaneously. Oh, the humanity! I can imagine the rambling mess he spews out in Spanglish. The denizens of Danger America can learn so much from him. Mr. Sumi to the triage nurse: I think my wife has had a stroke. TN: Have you done a stroke test? What are her symptoms? Mr. Sumi: She keeps saying she's my wifey for lifey. <enunciating clearly and speaking slowly to ensure full understanding> Wifey for lifey. Something is very. very wrong! Help her!

Mechelle looks stoned. Jim Bob looks like he has his finger in her ass to anchor her. He is one very creepy man. -
Do people usually eat the skins on sweet potatoes? If so, shouldn't you scrub them first? Also, the meat blobs are so overcooked they could be used as hockey pucks. I guess the idea of cooking the potatoes and onions for a while, then adding the meat was too much to handle. Guess I won't be dining at Chez Spurge.

You don't believe the I decided to meet you and a camera crew for lunch to discuss how I found these wonderful doctors who are going to help me and they just happen to have a TV show conversations are totally organic? Much like people heal for a month and somehow don't see the family they live with.

S08.E12: Always the Bitch, Never the Bride
Muffyn replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
Going to Home Goods when feeling that bad was silly. Dorinda came off as very kind. When she's not drunk and screaming, she seems really pleasant. Hmm, maybe when Ramona was talking how great Sonja was when sober she really meant Dorinda. Sonja is much more fun drunk. I hated the damn dog wedding. So freaking boring. -
After Renewing Vinyl, HBO Changes Its Mind And Cancels It After All
Muffyn replied to Primetimer's topic in Vinyl [V]
I consider this a mercy killing. They showed us mercy by cancelling it so we won't be compelled to watch it ever again. The Nasty Bits are no more. I don't think anyone in the viewing audience will miss them. -
Frenchie is 40 going on 103 physically and going on 13 mentally. She is exhausting. I really could have done without ever seeing her on my TV again. Former playmate didn't have a terrible neck to start. Sometimes you have to accept aging. I can see her doing another lift in five years and again after that, until she shreds her skin. I hate the way they make people dress for their reveals. I really doubt the boob girl had a sequined mini dress with a plunging neckline in her closet.

That was the best nose job we've seen. Trading in the mess she had for a tiny scar - no contest. There is not enough shut up in the world for those hideous twins. I enjoyed watching their faces fall when Terry told them all of the ways they were not identical. Unfortunately I can see them turning that into a reason for more terrible surgery. One of them will get a small chin implant, etc. Of course they've already had so much filler in their lips they are hard to look at I could really do without seeing these types of cases. From the first word, you know they're the rejected patients of the week. Giving them camera time only feeds their desire to be the center of attention.

S11.E01: When The Ship Hits The Fan

Meghan says Jim had a vasectomy and he camera pans to a shot of Jim's crotch. Thanks, cameraperson, we really didn't need that shot. -
Sometimes god gives you a window, and then you remember there is no god. Red is so great. Are yoou thinking about Bender on Futurama? The water he served had a salt content that was .00000000007 below a lethal dose. I suspect salting his sauce is what will have Caputo realize she's a monster. You don't mess with the sauce. (And now I realize salting his sauce sounds like a bad euphemism for sex.)

Overall I applaud Jazz for being willing to be so public. I am sure it is helpful to other young transgender people. At the same time, I don't like having children on reality TV. Adults know what they are signing up for and still often have being on shows do much more harm than good. Children cannot make that choice on their own. I would rather they did the occasional special which would allow for better editing and less need to compete as reality TV/create situations for "better" TV.

19 Things I Hate About You: How the Duggars Infuriate
Muffyn replied to Ljohnson1987's topic in Counting On
Unless God is putting the burden on them to bring them closer to Him; a.k.a. the devil or the lord, you're screwed! -
I listened to Ben's preaching video. Okay, I have now seen Ben rap and preach, or at least try to. I understand that people get better through practice but you do need some basic skills in what you are trying to do. As a preacher he is both uncomfortable and he has little to no understanding of what he is saying. As a rapper, well, he is just terrible. And since he wants to rap about god, his lack of ability to understand his faith at any deep level means his lyrics would be total crap. So, Bin, it's time to get some actual job skills. You have a child to support. Near the end of his sermon, Bin talks about how we was so sinful but has been saved. I can only assume his great sins were listening to on-Christian music (a.k.a. the Devil's own music), wearing tank tops in public (defrauder!) or other such great sins.

But what about the pieces of their heart they've given away? Won't somebody think about the pieces of their heart? They are chewed gum! Used Kleenex! The humanity!!!!!!! {Or, they are mercifully doing the right thing and thinking that courtship is just that, courtship, a chance to get to know each other better and see if they would make a good match. Oh wait, I'm being rational. Let me get back into fundie mode.} Won't somebody think about the children!?!?!?!?!?!

Derrick is posting outline notes for a sermon rather than the actual sermon, as if we should all fill in the blanks. I guess he's much too busy to write out an actual blog post. What the hell does he do all day and night? Maybe it's too hard to type with Jill attached at his hip. She keeps getting elbowed.

I found this a little too funny:

I have been deeply affected by the shooting in Orlando. I had to cut myself off from social media because it was too overwhelming. A friend posted that she knew a woman who died at Pulse. I then realized I had met her many years ago. It is a small world. My friends in the LQBTQ community are struggling with this. It brings back so much of the hatred we have each been forced to deal with. There are people who were in the club who cannot reach out to their families for support because their families share the Duggars' religious views. The effects of hatred and bigotry are terrifying. If you haven't already and you are not part of the LGBTQ community, but you know someone who is, reach out to them and let them know you care. The silence has been deafening from the outside of the community. Hate gets yelled from the rooftops; support is whispered. We need to reverse that now. On a much lighter note, in the US handy is a euphemism for hand job, so you might not want to call your mobile phone a handy unless you are ready to deal with some really awkward exchanges.

I appreciated Larry calling out that this was violence against the LGBT community. The news is so focused on ISIS, ISIS, ISIS and the shooter that they are forgetting the victims and why they were targeted. They only care if they can link it to ISIS rather than addressing their part in promoting hatred and fear of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. The panelist, Mychal Denzel Smith, was excellent. Intersectionality was at play - Latin night in an LGBT club with featured transgender performers. I ordered his book. I want to hear more from him.

LSSC: Season One All Episodes Talk
Muffyn replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Late Show With Stephen Colbert
I understand Bill O'Reilly was booked a month ago. I wish he was bounced for someone who is not a loudmouthed douche. His "facts" are wrong. He spouts this garbage like it's real and people fall for it. He does not need another venue from which to spew this misinformation. I really wish they had either brought on someone else who could address the pain we are feeling or they had gone the comedy route and brought on someone who would not have talked about the shooting. I can at least say that Bill's new series, Legends and Lies, is well named. I am sure it will be full of lies. -
I was so happy to see Cynthia Uriva win. She owns the stage. Dayum! When Prince died, the cast of The Color Purple sang Purple Rain as a tribute to hm. Cynthia started it off. I still can't watch it without crying. I wish they hadn't passed the lead to JHud because Cynthia owned it. She is extremely talented. What stood out this year was what a great year it is for Broadway. There are many great shows with excellent performers. I can't watch James Corden's late night show; he is too "on" for me. I thought he did a good job here. He clearly loves Broadway and respects the performers. The opening number started strong but it got away from him. Still, he did a good job moving the show forward and keeping the tone positive on a tough day.

Tyrion told us a long time ago that the gods are c*nts. The show is just reinforcing this theory.

I love that the Marjorie joke is recurring. Between her looking like Selina from behind and her deadpan expressions of joy, she is a great addition. Jonah shooting himself in the foot had me laughing out loud. Like irlandesa said, we knew it was coming and it was still great. Jonah shoots himself, Richard gives one of his usual upbeat sounding responses, then Jonah falling to the ground. Then Amy and Dan doing the "You got Jonah elected to congress. You got Jonah elected to congress . . ." with different emphasis each time. So proud. So horrified.

And now we know that in the ZA women will automatically get highlights and blow outs. Men will forget how to wash or comb their hair. I guess it's due to whatever causes the infection to all people, living and dead. Heck, I'm surprised female appearing zombies don't look freshly coiffed.
