I'm sure the brother's haves dealt with her bat shit crazy entitlement long enough that they are done.
-
She looks like she gained since being home.
-
To extreme? She's never going to do this.
-
Oh good God she has no enablers so she'll actually do the program in the hospital!

My mouth actually hit the ground.

I hope that narcissist from my fat fabulous life is watching for her commercials so she'll see what her life will be like in 10 years. I can't decide if I feel bad for Janine or can't stand her. It's like watching a ping pong match.

Kids Baking Championship - General Discussion
kj4ever replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Kids Baking Championship
I was shocked when they announced that he won. I'm usually pretty good at picking who is going home, but this one really was a crap shoot depending on which offense the judges found the worst. The bottom three really crapped the bed on this one. -
My friend's Mom had the gastric bypass and managed to lose only 30 pounds before she started ramping back up. She had learned from the Internet that small amounts of gravy all day long would get your body used to the fatty foods and stretch the stomach so that you could eat more. It took her months, but she did it. She's also dead, and died when my friend was 8 1/2 months pregnant with her first child. As a condition of her bypass she had to go to therapy, but it didn't help. She was to far gone, and had such bad medical problems she KNEW she needed to lose the weight in order to live, and only made it about a year after her surgery. This show and Intervention could swap people. Both are about selfish addicts most of the time.

Small Talk: Only 2 Ounces Of Commenting Allowed
kj4ever replied to Meredith Quill's topic in My 600-lb Life
My Mom always said that McDonald's was "poison" when I was a kid, and that was back in the 80's! We were only allowed a shamrock shake when they came out, and a happy meal. That's it. Once a year. Then we all grew up, moved out, society changed, and fast food became the norm. I started getting bigger and my brother and sister exploded. They ate/still eat that crap all the time. I woke up and did something about it because I did not like living life as an overweight person. My poor nieces don't stand a chance. Their Mother, my brother's wife, was a stay at home Mom who pretty much just drove through the drive thru their whole life. I remember taking DQ blizzards over there when they were little and I got them a small. They were like 4 and 6 years old and had tantrums because they weren't larges. They are all super overweight and always looking for the reason "why". *insert huge ass eye roll* -
I wasn't always slim. I made the decision to watch what I eat and exercise.
-
I think it is more of a learned behavior rather than genetically you will be fat. I have two older siblings who are super obese and I am a healthy weight. They choose to stuff their faces and complain like many people on this show that it's not their fault. We were all skinny as kids though, when my parents did the cooking. They didn't get super huge until the left the house, but to hear them talk it's all "genetic". I choose to watch my portion sizes and exercise, so I'm not fat. Genetics play very little IMO. The kids that are super sized as toddlers have parents that teach them bad eating habits from the start and they are used to them and continue those habits as adults. I hope Rena watched this last night and had a big old wake up call. It would have to really hit home to see yourself be treated like that.

Oh and kudos to the little blonde girl that said she picked apples because she knew it went with a lot of things so the twist might fit it. Smart thinking. -
Kids Baking Championship - General Discussion

I must say I am relieved that we have no child that talks like they are 3 years old when they are 10 (looking at Peggy and Kiniah (sp) ) That is such a pet peeve of mine and I could not STAND Peggy for that reason and it made me feel mean. lol I think I watch this how for Val and Duff now. I love them together. They are hilarious. Can you ship cooking show judges? -
I do 3 minutes high pressure, 5 minute natural release, then release pressure and fill the pot with cold water. It makes them perfect (for me).
-
I was always to afraid to use the stovetop one. When I was a little kid my Grandma's exploded. I think there were chicken parts on her ceiling for years. It didn't faze her though...lol I won't cook hard boiled eggs any other way now. The shells come off so clean and so easy. This is my before and after. I swear the Instant Pot is what got me to goal this time! I rarely eat out anymore - and furthermore I don't want to because I make better stuff at home :)

I love mine because it helps me stay organized. A lot of bloggers say crap like "A Whole Dinner in 10 Minutes!" which isn't exactly true. The pot has to come up to pressure and then come down from pressure. Some things aren't as fast as you'd think. BUT why I love it is I can put my stuff in and like go take a shower or get some work done. No watching, stirring or babysitting involved. I love my slow cooker too, but I'm gone 14 hours a day and everything gets dried out and starts tasting the same. The Instant Pot infuses flavor into everything. Things taste like they've been marinating for hours when you don't have to marinate them at all. For busy people that are trying to stay away from fast food and take out it is really a good option.

Love love love my Instant Pot! I've lost 65 pounds and maintained a healthy weight this year, and my Instant Pot is a big part of that! I just cranked this out last night and it was delicious! https://my30pointlife.com/2018/01/02/salisbury-steak-instant-pot-or-stovetop/

I was really excited to see Bill and Aldaberto again. They were my favorites in this series. I wanted to punch Nylet in her face, so I can imagine how Bill felt having to actually work with her. Red lips is just as annoying as ever, and it ticks me off that she won. This show must not nearly be as popular as cupcake wars was. Just being on that show and not winning for only one week launched a lot of businesses and all of these people didn't seem to do much more after being featured for weeks on the food network.

I never get when they do a challenge that doesn't have actual baking in it on a show called Holiday Baking Championship.

The Comics: Same, Yet Different

I bet you anything that is how they introduce the whisperers. That's who he was bit by and he's not going to die. -
I have a cousin who is quite large. She came up when my Father was sick because she wanted to help take care of him. She called her Mother and said we were "starving" her to death. I had made home made chicken pot pie, steak, lasagna... (my Dad's favorites) but because we weren't eating fast food she had a fit. I really think that stuff is addictive to people that eat it all the time.

Christmas Cookie Challenge - General Discussion
kj4ever replied to Lisin's topic in Christmas Cookie Challenge
If they really wanted to do it right, they could have the split time like The Great Baking Show does sometimes. They have a couple of hours, then get another hour the next morning. Decorated sugar cookies have to dry if you want dimension and definition. -
Jesse Palmer: New Host on the Scene
kj4ever replied to Jaded's topic in Holiday Baking Championship [V]
I actually think that Jesse is doing a decent job, and not just eye candy. Who'da thunk it? It was funny because my niece had missed an episode and came over to watch it. I was in the other room cooking, and could just hear it. You could hear the genuine interest and care in his voice when you weren't watching. Shocked the hell out of me...lol -
The Judges: Cookie Monsters
kj4ever replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Holiday Baking Championship [V]
I love Lorraine. She seems to be the most even, to me at least. I really like her baking show (they do reruns on cooking channel) so that might color my opinion a bit. Duff just rocks, and Nancy is like annoying as hell. Where's my Hooooooooooooliday? More booze honey! Oh, and the most dreadful "Yummy Yummy Yummy to my Tummy Tummy Tummy" Can't stand her. -
I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought that. Stephany used filo in the main heat too. And on a shallow note her hair just bugs me. You are on TV FFS, look in a mirror and brush your damn hair. I like Jennifer a lot, and if I had to pick it is Joshua and Jennifer for me. They are the ones that make me want to taste their desserts for sure.
