  1. Also everyone but the Dad looked like they could almost be a candidate for WLS, and he looked to be on his way. Mom and Sis were huge. Maybe they keep bringing her food so they can think "well at least I'm not as big as her." Sometimes I think deep down they believe that, especially the episodes where the family is also grossly overweight.
  2. It seems Karina had other issues too - drug abuse and the like. I'm sure getting more attention when she was small was just a little part of it. I have a sibling that required a lot of my parents resources because of her own bad decisions and believe me it gets freakin' old. Anyone that first meets her feels very sorry for her and probably thinks I'm a raging bitch, but after they are around her for a couple of months of being manipulated they have little sympathy for her once they realize her true self. Karina reminded me A LOT of her.
  3. If that dog died I was going to have a major problem. This episode didn't hold my attention like the others, probably because there was way to much Andrew, which sounds funny considering the show is about him, but when tempered with people doing a masterful job his sub par acting is tolerable. The gentleman playing the architect was decent, but not enough to make up for Darren's obvious "I'm playing a sociopath!!" act.
  4. I'm thinking Luke too, and I'm glad. Not because I don't like the kid, but because he gets this look on his face like he's fighting back tears every once in awhile and it's heartbreaking. This is a weird season. With the exception of the girl with the Little Dutch Boy haircut there really haven't been any kids that I want to throw some shade.
  5. A lady in my old WW meeting was like probably 400 or 500 pounds. She didn't have weight loss surgery but lost like 20-15 pounds a WEEK doing just Weight Watchers for the first month or two!
  6. Well I said I'd give it one more episode. I think the problem I'm having with this season is the actor portraying Cunanan just doesn't have the chops compared to all the other actors in the series. I realize this guy looks a lot like the real Andrew, but they would have been better off getting an actor that had more talent, charisma, and charm. Then you put up someone like that in with these performances from Judith and Mike and his character just falls flat and sticks out like a sore thumb. I'm going to keep watching just for all these guest actors who are just killing it. Seeing Judith's scenes were worth all the eye-rolling moments from that joker playing Andrew.
  7. I really wish they'd have one episode just about the enablers. I mean when someone is bed ridden just bring them healthy food. When the Aunt was all "Oh you're in for it" if she doesn't get what she wants....Ummm just shut the door bitch isn't going to come after you or anything. I just can't understand that.
  8. A friend at work and I were talking about the series today and he said he didn't like it because he could tell the guy playing AC was acting. He hadn't become AC, he was just acting like some kid in a high school play would act. I think he's right, because I cannot see any charisma or redeeming qualities in this man that would make people befriend him at all.
  9. It's because they need a reason to be big, and that reason can't be that they eat to much.
  10. I never knew Donatella to look anything other than the monstrous freak that she is now. I grew up listening to my gay Uncle complain about what a nasty bitch she was and how she did Versace's partner wrong, so I am just a bit jaded when it comes to that whatever she is now. I'm having a hard time getting into this season, but I'll give it one more show. Comparing it with OJ is apples to oranges, but I really think the talent in this one (except for Edgar Ramirez who is freakin' awesome) is just not as good.
  11. Everyone is looking for that magic secret! I have a blog that gets like 100,000 hits every couple of days. I get all kinds of messages asking what pill I take, what food I eat...These people never believe me when I say I lost it all with just plain old portion control. There must be something else! I think most people want something where they can eat whatever they want and lose weight. I mean I've been there. It wasn't until I decided that yep, it was my fault that I got to this weight and I was the one that needed to do something, something that I could sustain for my life that I was finally successful. My brother and sister are both extremely obese. I mean I looked thin next to them 65 pounds ago. People are always saying "oh you hit the genetic lottery" which really ticks me off because it makes it seem like their obesity is beyond their control and that it is just easy for me to be thin. Neither are true.
  12. I did not find her as likable as many of you did. I mean compared to the shit show we have been seeing she was an angel, but I agree that she seemed way more hard on her Mom than her drunk ass Dad. I can't imagine being a parent in a situation like that. Sounds like Grandma was the one feeding her. It also rubbed me the wrong way with the whiney "Mom was working so she wasn't there for me". Yeah, Mom was working to put a damn roof over your head you ungrateful twit. Also I would think someone that is that size has probably tried a diet or two in their lifetime. How come a professional has to show them what a freaking serving is? How to measure it? She just didn't want to do it is all.
  13. At WW once you get to your goal weight and maintain it for six weeks meetings, the app, everything is free. You just have to weigh in at a center once a month and still be at goal or 2 pounds over. You get a voucher and can continue using their app and etools. A lot of people are doing just the online version, then when they get close to goal they switch to meetings so that it can be free once they make their lifetime goal. Online only people cannot get WW for free ever, because anyone could go on the computer and be all "I'm at goal and I've maintained it for six weeks!" lol Finding what is a good fit is the most important part! I know people who SWEAR WW, low carb, atkins, south beach, you name it is the ONLY way to be successful. That's so not true. People need to find what they can do the rest of their life, not just for right now to be successful.
  14. I think it is just trying to find that balance DELURKER. Eating enough to stay the same, but not overdoing it and gaining. I never expected this part to be hard. SUNNYBEBE I plan on sticking with Weight Watchers. I know what has happened to me in the past when I didn't. I've almost got to goal a few times and even kept what I lost off for a good while after I decided I could do it on my own, but it creeps back up. I need the accountability. I go to meetings, didn't miss any while losing, but now just go every other week or once a month to keep myself in check. Weight Watchers isn't the best at explaining the whole maintenance phase - probably because they aren't making a dime off of you anymore. I mean they pretty much handed me a book and said "here you go, eat more now!" Sounds easy enough, but it's almost like telling an alcoholic "Oh you can have a little more to drink today" after they've been dried out for 6 months.
  15. So while I don't think Beverly should have got the ax this week, she definitely should have last week so it doesn't bother me that much. Add in that she reminds me of that annoying kid that kept saying "CHOCOLATE" from one of the past seasons and I'm glad she's off my TeeVee. Soleil has got to be on deck for next week for sure. The "Pink" girl is almost starting to delve into baby-talk land which is by far my most annoying pet peeve on these kid shows. Peggy from whatever season being the worst. Every time she said "I'm making i-cream!" it was like nails on a chalk board.
  16. I'm down 65 pounds and at my goal weight. I've been struggling with maintaining it and finding a good balance. I don't want to lose anymore weight. My BMI is healthy and I have cuuuurves for days so I look stupid skinny-skinny. I never thought in my whole life I'd be like "Damn, I lost more weight" lol. I do Weight Watchers also and have been maintaining for 5 months, but still am losing bit by bit. I never thought the lifetime stuff could be so hard!
  17. IF? You better get some straps for that board now...lol
  18. My friend bought one with the Teflon and had to throw it away after like 4 months because of scratches/flaking issues. I think it was like Power XL or something? I prefer to cook with stainless so that's actually why I went with the Instant Pot. I have the 6 and the 8 quart. I have a problem...lol
  19. Ha! and there were Whitney Fat Fabulous life commercials during this too! I said in the live thread that I hope she was watching for her commercials (or course she would, she's like the biggest narcissist) that this makes her wake up and realize that this will be her life in 10 years. Can't STAND her or her irresponsible message. I'm all for body acceptance, but the whole "being fat doesn't make you unhealthy" crap is just wrong. I mean yeah some bigger people might not have problems. Some people drive drunk and don't get into accidents. Doesn't mean people should get liquored up and drive around.
  20. I don't think they have cut her totally out of her life. I don't think the SIL would have been there to help if that was the case. They might simply not want to be on TV. I know I couldn't pack up my stuff and jump to help my family member, and the SIL was flying out of Denver so I'm assuming they live there. Besides, not everyone (most people I would imagine) wants their crap displayed on TV. I mean my sister and her excuses could give this lady a run for her money and there is no way in hell I'd go on TV with her!
  21. I almost think they should all get that balloon in the early period where they need to lose weight before surgery...
  22. I almost think she didn't lose the weight on purpose. A friend of mine is over 500 pounds, and she also had to do a restrictive diet for a couple of months before surgery. They do this not just to have them be smaller before the surgery, but so they are semi-used to eating less and have less problems once the surgery is done. My friend could not cope with the small portions and decided against the surgery because she did not want to live her life without having "treats". I'm surprised she is still alive, but probably won't make it much longer :( I always think of that on this show when they fail during the pre-surgery period. I mean they are on TV so they probably feel like they can't say "Screw it I want to be able to pig out sometimes" so they just don't lose the required weight. The one thing I couldn't get over - how she says she had no help. There's no way in hell she didn't have any help. I mean she wouldn't even be able to clean a litter box herself. Can you imagine her bending down to scoop a little box? I don't think the scooter twists like that, and she is not going to do anything unless that thing is involved. She has to have some kind of home health service. I mean food, yeah, you can use pea pod or insta cart for that, but just the daily stuff? No way she had zero help. No. Way. I really did feel bad for Janine when they were talking about her childhood. The diet pills at 4, the constant monitoring of food. Of course this is going to mess you up. Then as the show went on I almost felt rage towards her. Ever the victim, doesn't know why this is happening to her......Give me a break. She's a master manipulator as are most addicts and I'm sure the people in her life have been manipulated enough that they are done. Except for the niece that wanted to be on TV. I'll give props to the SIL. She seemed to come out to just help her and get out of dodge without having to much attention brought to herself.
  23. cut her a break?? Holy shit she showed up!!
  24. she's not gonna show up...
  25. I can't. I just can't. I mean I was more freaked out about gaining a pound and a half during Christmas than she is about gaining 60 pounds and sabotaging her chance for surgery.
