As I just said elsewhere, they're shit at pacing. 3B's finale didn't feel so rushed, and there were some actual scenes that had room to breathe. But the 4A & 4B finales were like an ADHD toddler hopped up on Snickers and Mountain Dew -- just all over the place.

They are shit at pacing. Variety: With an expected uptick to 1.8 in the nationals, “Once” will have delivered its top rating since March 22 — but down half a ratings point from its year-ago closer (2.3). Pretty telling it got barely a boost in its finale.

Yes, it's clear Once has reached its set point. It shed viewers each half-hour -- especially from 8 to 8:30. No surprise, given that the good stuff didn't come til Hour 2. Looks like those viewers switched over to 60 Minutes. Heaven knows the writers room could use some fresh blood, but I’m sure the first question on the job application is “How much do you loooooove Regina?” Given that their last hire was the abysmal douchcanoe jerk Scott Nimerfro, I shudder to think who they’ll hire to replace her (assuming they do). I nominate Shanna Marie. I wonder if anyone else is leaving?

So let me get this straight: The Author is called out as a villain for rewriting reality to make himself win and give himself a happy ending. But it’s no harm, no foul when Regina and Rumple go after the same thing -- in fact, everyone wholeheartedly supports Regina in this endeavor, and even holds a bake sale to raise funds. Riiiight. Gotcha.

I wholeheartedly agree that 4B is BY FAR the worst half in the show's history. It's not even close.
