Amen. I just can't see how I'm going to find this arc entertaining. A lot of people are excited about it, because they seem to think it's going to be some epic Captain Swan love story. But I think they're expecting too much and are going to end up really disappointed, because it's TS, TW, the kings of lack of payoff. It's not like they're suddenly going to stop focusing on Regina, master the arts of pacing and payoff, and start delving into rich character studies. I only wish this were true, so they'd be encapsulated far away from the mothershow.

Where's the mistake? ;)

Scott Michael Foster's show "Oil" is indeed airing after "Once" on Sundays.

That seems pretty much word-for-word to the press release for S4, just with Merlin & Dark One Emma replacing what they had for S4. I think it was about Elsa IIRC. But I remember the "master storytellers" term from that release.

This is just indicative of how little I trust the writers and how much I think they bait SQ! Didn't they tease a kiss that wouldn't work in the general manner of a TLK? What was that???

It would give them the perfect opportunity to bait SQ moments and put distance between Emma and Hook. That was too much of an out-of-left-field comment not to mean something.

I hope I'm reading into it. It's not the "anything that can happen" line that hit me. But what's with the "masculinity is fluid" in response to that? What a weird thing to reply. Why say that if it doesn't have something to do with the show?

This tweet by Jane Espenson gave me the worst thought. Is Emma going to become "masculine" now that she's the Dark One? Would they take their SQ baiting that far? I think I made myself throw up.

For them to trot her out when they decide they need her to wave her literal or figurative wand and accomplish something right then.

I'm saying it. They're writing things specifically to cater to SQ shippers or with SQ shippers in mind. If they don't intend for it to ever be canon, then that's intentionally baiting. Full stop.

Logically, given what we've seen of Rumple as the Dark One, no. But given that it's TS, TW, I expect them to have Emma be more evil than Regina at her village-slaughtering worst. Since Regina is the Savior now (excuse me, need to go retch for a bit), they will need her evil foil: thus, Eviler-Than-Evil Emma.

And yet A&E just keep throwing in more screentime-sucking dispensables.

That's exactly it. If it were another show with better writers, it would be great emotional fodder. But it's not. So it will be sparkly dark Emma and dark magic flying all over the place.

I thought the last few eps of the season would drop further than they have. So I actually doubt the drop will be too big in the fall. Hell, if Zelena-is-Marian-and-she's-pregnant didn't drive casual fans away, this won't.

Oh, you know, Rumple was so heroic for keeping the darkness at bay as much as he did. Emma will be swamped by the darkness and be unable to keep it at bay, so she'll just be Evil Incarnate.

LOL, that's even more generic than the name it was officially picked up as, "Untitled Pate & Fishburne Project." The only way it could be more generic was if it were called "Show."

I would, too, but I also wouldn't. I would probably deliberately fly into the Venus flytrap sitting on the windowsill in frustration after hearing the things they no doubt say.

I assume that was Snowflake.

Since it's TS, TW, it will OBVIOUSLY be what's behind Door Number One. Regina will broadcast her guilt and pain on a loop 24/7 over the newly installed speakers on Main Street. She will be so upset, she'll attempt to take out her heart again. The town will band together to comfort her and give her daily massages. The pain and distress of Hook, Henry & Snowing will get one sentence each. (Snowing's will be one sentence combined, not each, natch.)
