Spoiler Discussion: The apple was poisoned?!
Souris replied to regularlyleaded's topic in Once Upon A Time
Is that asshole still trying to CLEAVE himself from the dagger, even if he's not the Dark One anymore?? I was considering that it could also be the ep or dailies they were about to watch. Brigitte has referred to them doing both those things at various times. I'd have to go back and do the filming timeline vs. her posting calculations to be sure of the timing whether that made sense, though. -

I hope unity has multiple references. -

Just wanted to bring up that in the pre-premiere special, JMo's three words to describe the season were "misleading, dark & unity." I don't know when that special was filmed, but of anyone, I'd say she's the most clued-in to what's happening this season. So someone is being misled. I'm sure we are among the misled. That dovetails with A&E saying one of the themes of the season is that things aren't what they seem. I'm not sure exactly what that means, just that probably we should expect something beyond face value. Of course, one of Colin's words was "regal," so whatever happens, Regina will be a big part of it. (I hope he was also referring to Arthur.) -

I think in the end, Regina will pull the sword successfully, because she's just that much of a hero now. Why would Dark Swan not try to trick Arthur into pulling it? Obviously he's the one person that has done it successfully. Is there some reason she wouldn't want him to do it? Also, why is it back in the stone in the first place? Who put it back there? Arthur said it disappeared when he was transported to SB, but clearly he doesn't remember the six weeks, so it could have been taken from him at any point in there. Or did HE put it back & doesn't remember? ETA: I wonder if David & Arthur encounter a Lady of the Lake again? The press release did make Arthur seem shady for insisting on going with David. -

I hope Dark Swan doesn't know about Kay going poof when he tried to pull Excalibur, because that would be terrible if she risked Hook going poof. -
I feel uncivic-minded, but I'm cranky I have to report for jury duty tomorrow. And be there at 8 a.m. Last time I got called for jury duty, I ended up on a jury. Luckily it was a short drug-possession case. A friend got put on a jury for a two-week murder trial that was really grisly & upsetting.

Ratings and Scheduling: Who's the fairest of them all?
Souris replied to Serena's topic in Once Upon A Time
Did she? I swear I read an article where she said she signed a 7-year contract after the first season ended. I could have misinterpreted! -

We simply have nothing but rumors when it comes to the Once contracts. Industry standards are 7 years; even Viola Davis signed a 7-year contract for HTGAWM after S1, though she started with just a 1-year. Robert probably had enough clout to get a shorter 5-year at the start; there was one article that referred to him having a 5-year contract. Everyone else, we have nothing concrete. I believe actors can renegotiate contracts at any time if the network is open to it. That's happened before when a show was an unexpected smash and the actors suddenly became more valuable (i.e., could demand more money than they signed for). -

Thanks to various cast/crew photos, we know the following characters filmed on location today: Hook, the Wicked Witch, Robin, Arthur & Merlin. Very odd group! Of course, they may not have all filmed together; there could have been different filming groups. The only costumes we know are the WW outfit & Arthur's usual getup, so it's a mystery whether it's Camelot or SB, or a combination thereof. -
LOL. If they don't, can you imagine how many we'd get with them actually trying??? It does look like Savior vs. Dark One is the new hero vs. villain.

Day-um. That makes "cleave" positively rare.

I generally hate when they drop storylines, but I'm perfectly fine with them dropping Lily's. I don't think Nimue is even in Camelot. As far as we know, she filmed only with Merlin in biblical-looking clothes. So I think that was a flashback to the time of the origin of the Dark One. If she was the original Dark One, as is a popular spoiler theory, then she would have died at the hands of the next Dark One. I do think it looks like Merlin doesn't make it out of Camelot, since he hasn't been spotted filming in SB. Does Emma kill him? Does he go back into the tree? Something else? -
This review of the ep is SPOT ON. It's like some of us collectively wrote it.

I actually think that writers room tease was referring to Charming in this next ep. Josh mentioned we'd be seeing Charming at his most heroic, and this ep seems to be the one that's about. Or, it could be Regina. As always. -

Oooh, nice catch! I did not notice that in Merlin's tower. -

In the BTS pics just linked, Hook definitely has some sort of snow globe thingy he appears to consult. He doesn't have it in the scene with Emma, though she could have it behind her back. It seems like they start off standing far apart, then they get closer and she offers him her hand, then they walk off hand-in-hand. It doesn't look particularly happy, though. Perhaps they're making a deal, or she is "sucking him into the darkness with her," and goes along by taking her hand. -
Photo set from filming in Steveston Oct. 1.

It reminded me of these alien bug things they had in the last season of "Falling Skies." Also filmed in Vancouver, so maybe they got it cheap. ;) I'm the same. It's VERY hard for me to turn off the critical/editing portion of my brain, especially if I'm invested in something. I don't TRY to see the flaws, they simply jump out at me.

Speculation WITHOUT Spoilers: Lalalalala! I can't hear you!
Souris replied to regularlyleaded's topic in Once Upon A Time
For sure. The curse turns people into trees if they go past the town line, Merlin was trapped in a tree. I wonder if Merlin cast the curse? Or perhaps whoever trapped him in the tree cast the curse? Did he trap himself? -
Point taken! It really was gross how Snow & everyone ran to sacrifice themselves for Regina, when they just stood there when Emma was in the same position. And then proceeded to tongue-bathe her. Also gross was turning yet another of Regina's victims with a legit beef against her into a villain who got no sympathy. Poor Regina instead! Her victims are ALWAYS presented as being in the wrong.

DarkSwan seemingly was pushing Regina to be the Savior/hero. I would say she was trying to make Regina into the hero (gag) needed to pull the sword, but she didn't seem to know about the sword until afterward when Dark One Rumple told her about it. Though how did it get into her house's basement without her knowledge? That hurts my brain. I imagine that when the blades are rejoined, there is as much possibility of the light destroying the darkness as vice versa. The Guardians of the Galaxy hand-joining ripoff also seems like foreshadowing of my theory about everyone ultimately taking a bit of the darkness, thereby watering it down. -
Regina, the Evil Queen: The Only Happy Ending Will Be Hers
Souris replied to Camera One's topic in Once Upon A Time
Regina is officially THE most annoying character on any show I've ever watched. That includes Scrappy Doo, Nellie Olsen, Piz & Janice from Friends. Combined.
