I am convinced there was a reason for that. They literally staged s 13 finale using Greek tragedy tropes to emphasize Dean's tragic fall. It also had Greek tragedy tropes in the writing. The wireworks battle was part of that. But yes... it was awkward. Can someone spoil me as to when the season starts and whether/when repeats are airing?

Maybe Sam gets powered up because he is still connected by the wound. It's still there on a mumbo jumbo level. Sam dies because of her power. Amara seems like she digs being human.

Yes. I liked Claire too. I should probably rewatch this episode. I suppose using another world and its senseless destruction is a great way to show how off the rails BIG BAD Chuck actually is and that definitively meant bringing Kaia back. Unfortunately without Claire and without any continuity for Dean's abandoned s 14 storyline it seemed meaningless. Too much from s 14 has been swept under the carpet. It stinks.

Well now... Lucy may have an axe to grind with Dean... they were grudge matching in 13 and Dean killed him in an epic old school wire work battle. There's a powerful and new connection there. I personally think Jack and Cas should just wander off the beaten path at this point because everything they do and say is pointless. Jack ruined Cas. Lucifer should stay stabbed of course. Jack should have stayed stabbed several times over. -
Jared is working with Anna Fricke, Carver's wife. I haven't seen that Carver has any affiliation with this. He is show running Doom Patrol. Jared has always seemed a CW gusy to me. Jensen obviously not because Warner tapped him for a main role in its biggest superhero franchise and he couldn't do it because he was tied down by a network show. THIS IS A SHORT RUN SHOW AND MAkES TIME FOR FILMS. I am sure he still remains on Warner's shortlist. He was in the mix for Cap and Starlord and was offered Hawkeye. Now he is playing a superhero. Warner is still making movies and they love Jensen. My husband says they are retooling the source material for some characters. That said, Jensen may be happy for something that shows a different range. People know he's a great actor. I have always thought he would be a much better Starlord. Gizmodo commenters are talking about how he would have been the better Hawkeye on their article on the Boys casting. This site typically mocks Supernatural as utter trash.

He's awake in the Empty... Jack performed a resurrection spell when he had erratic superpowers and Lucifer had recently tried to cross over into the corpse of Nick lying a few feet away. I agree. Check is resurrecting on a whim. I expect to see him again.

Another longtime fan that's seen it all. The original series ended in confusion. Scully had a baby that was Mulder's. Cigarette Smoking Man died horribly by all appearances... Alien Invasion was averted. I confess that it has been a long time since I saw it... so... The 2nd season of the reboot had some fantastic episodes yet did Scully a huge disservice in the end. I applaud Gillian for walking away. I do not remember tv movies. I remember going to the cinema.

Mmm. I see Amara's storyline in s 11 as a he said she said scenario with only Dean being of the mindset to cut her any slack because they were linked by the MoC. Everyone else was told she was the worst big bad ever. What she was... different. The other. ANGRY at the treatment she had received and she wanted to be heard. Now that was all because of Chuck and it was all on Chuck and he hid until she forced him to come out although he let Dean think that Dean's cries for help were what brought him. To me this already puts Chuck as the bad one. Then he has the audacity to manipulate Desn and tell Dean that effectivy he's responsible for the safety of the world? This is the guy that already takes too much on himself? That is strike number 2. Chuck is definitely not good. Personally I think the set up is there. It's definitely in the aforementioned s 11. It's In the way all of his angels are mentally Ill. It's in the way Metatron who spent the most time with him is a sociopath who is emulating Chuck when he tries to write himself into power and manipulate others using the power of angel tablet. And it's definitely in the way the Apocalypse is averted only for the Winchesters to be in an Apocalypse loop season after season after season in which they just switch off who dies or sacrifices or cries or disappears or betrays. It's all too redundant.

Season 8 would beg to differ. Sam is the one that cannot live without Dean. He had a nervous breakdown and set up house with a female Dean for goodness sakes. Dean feels compelled to save others whatever the cost to himself. The show has shown him to do well without his brother which is why there are so many fabulous bromances, why Dean owned Purgatory, why Dean made his go with Ben and Lisa despite his depression and sense of failure...

Responding to discussion in Speculation About Spoilers Regarding Upcoming Titles one of which mentions "Truth"... LMAO. Did I imagine that Ruby said SAM KILLED HER!!! which never happened. Did I imagine the retcon of Ruby and Jo working together even though Ruby was terrified of Angel's and Jo fame to Earth after Metatron and Cas caused the Fall... What truth can one possibly expect from writers that have no respect for the history of the show or its canon. What satisfactory ending do you envision for the Winchesters? There is a walking, talking sparkly deus ex machina that the writing props up and canon and the truth be damned.

Yep. It took on Cas' form in its first appearance for instance.

Obviously the plan is for Death and the Empty to take over. Dean is keeping his cards to his chest however the writing is letting him be his best in this episode: strategizing, reading people, and getting down and stabby. It was unlike him to fall for Jo's con so easily.... Death isn't Chuck. She's smarter. If she needs Dean to play a specific role... that could get interesting.
-
Well maybe now we will get an ending that Supernatural deserves that Jensen has a say in that is created by a dream team he assembles which does not include Dabb et al. and especially the heinous nepotism duo.
-
All good points. I have no problem with Chuck being evil. I have never seen him as "good" and I found his behavior in s 11 problematic. The writing strongly hinted then that he wasn't the good guy. Jack is exactly the same as he was when he killed Mary. Cas is exactly the same as he was after he was brainwashed by fetus Jack. Dean and Sam can only trust each other. Death can read the books and understand the exact path to someone's fate. She knows exactly what has to he done to get Chuck's fate to end with his death. Since she is also about the natural order one assumes that she knows the one way this will be preserved. However, she was markedly different in this appearance. I did like the callback to season 5 and Death's conversation with Dean about realing God. The Winchesters are involved because that is what the books say. Chuck's death book says this much like Sam was the agent of Rowena's demise in all of her books. The bad rubber suit effects were a problem with the WS concept as well as the writing and plotting and the unstable vagina rift that Jack created.

Jack did touch "MW" on the table and look constipated.

Maybe she was a wood nymph and just blended into all of the woodwork. Dabbler and Hacks have no understanding of ongoing mytharc or character arcs so it's throw everything at the wall. -
The photos suggest this scenario. Somehow I assumed that the Empty would come for him

And Crowley, Lucifer and Kentucky Fried Demon Prince never said Boo about this. Sorry but the "antichrist" child only had powers after Lucifer was risen. No Lucifer... no Apocalypse... no powerful child. That was the canon. Oh wait. The Nepotism duo just makes stuff up. ??? -

He essentially killed himself in Love Hurts and he wanted to be the one to.do The Trials in season 8 because he knew they meant certain death. It's established that he is the one that sacrifices himself because he believes he should be the one to die. It happens with alarming frequency. I would argue that he understood exactly what the process in HJ for losing probably was before it was revealed which is why he insisted that he was doing it. He plays dumb however he misses nothing
