The show would have been great if Jack would have stayed dead. He is a throwaway character that was given a main character's storyline and purpose. This is why the ratings tanked. This is why there is no longer a show. This is one of the fundamentals reasons that the writing was atrocious.

They could have used an old reaction shot and then cut to Sam listening to them talk about what Dean meant to them. Or they could have sent videos for a virtual hunters funeral. A good writer that actually cared would have done it. This is the guy that wanted WS to be about rubber suit monsters.

Cas said Dean's love changes everyone. So it made Sam a spoiled,, self-entitled manchild.

There's a tumblr site devoted to hating Dabb. Surprisingly few posts. One claims to have a video of an interview with Dabb posted in which he says that he cannot stand Jensen. Apparently it just slips out. It's unclear whether he is joking or not. I didn't watch it. Only an idiot writer puts rebar in a barn. I do not know when I will rewatch. Dean fights like the guy we saw in season 8... when is decapitation not his thing. That was not a Dean fight.

Dean took out Benny's nest by himself while Benny dealt with his girlfriend and the old man. This was as a human not MoC or as a vamp. He survived a year in Purgatory.The idea that he suddenly forgot how to fight vamps and couldn't take on 4 is ridiculous. Dabb cannot even remember basic canon or character arcs in a show he has worked on for 10 years. This in itself is a problem. The script was paint by numbers, laughable, painful... I wondered if his nieces helped him with it.

It was the epitome of Sam waking up and getting all the kills only this time Dean dies. I never bought into a bias against Dean until they gave Jack his storyline so quickly I developed whiplash and the writing denigrated and deconstructed every admirable quality. I hope crew member or 2 talks at some point. There's a story or three going on and they have nothing to do with Jensen.

The difference is that you care and you actually took some time to think about how to give the character a righteous exit worthy of his 15 year arc and fans. Dabb didn't care and didn't bother.

This is what Dabb has done and this is what he has been doing for a while. It's not the first time it's happened. It happened in in s 5 too through 6-7. I don't know why they denigrate and destroy their iconic character. The show would have died without Dean and Dean's relationships to other. Characters. I really hope that Jensen didn't miss out on too many opportunities keeping them all employed.

I was discussed on a Deancentric board years ago. I didn't used to buy into this bias against Dean/Jensen. That was then. This is now. Season 4 and part of season 5 had a great story arc for Dean and then there was an abrupt direction change. Then in season 6 he was denigrated and there was Sam pimping and shirtless Sam who suddenly was the better hunter... The similarities to now are striking except that we had Jack pimping too and an extra special helping of Sam pimping after shirtless Sam. How many close-ups of Sam masterfully beheading vampires didxwe get? Come on. It was ridiculous. I think Jensen let's a lot go. It won't matter because he will soar.

I remember around s 5 there were rumors that Jared pitched a fit that Sam wasn't going to be the hero and this partially led to lopsided SS. Jared was technically the "star". IDK what his contract still says or if he would still pitch a fit like that... the Sam pimping was heavy. Maybe it was just to promote Walker. Short sighted when you think of syndication and the possibility for films. Dean is the iconic character... But that shirtless shit was weird. Walker looks like it will be bad. His acting has really fallen off... It's so weird because the media has been giving Jensen star treatment. It's probably the Boys casting.

The final episode was Sam pimping. Dabb took everything that seasons before had built up about Dean and tried to destroy the character and the icon.He hid behind Chuck all season except in this episode so it is especially shameful.
