  1. Yeah, I'm well past the point of being amused with Guggenheim. I'm a good sport and I have a sense of humor, but most of his comments in interviews and such just serve to infuriate me. And he does it often enough that people refer to him as "Guggentroll." Does anyone even trust anything that comes out of this guy's mouth anymore?
  2. Good, we'll get episode # 11 description this week, then. I'm curious to see if that's going to be really Laurel-heavy because for some reason (don't remember why) there was speculation that it would be.
  3. They started filming episode 15, Nanda Parbat, today (although Guggenheim tweeted that they were filming 16, but he had a picture of the cover from 315, but whatever). I didn't follow spoilers last year, so does anyone know if we will keep getting episode descriptions for episodes beyond # 10 before Arrow returns on January 21st? I'm eager to know if anything interesting is happening anytime soon.
  4. Plus, he uses the word "epic" when chances are we will be left asking, "What epic scene was Guggenheim talking about?" after the episode ends. Why can't this guy accurately sell anything?!
  5. I don't believe Guggenheim period :) So when he says that this upcoming trilogy is some of the best episodes they've ever done, I'm expecting them to actually be awful (I remember "best episode ever" The Promise, and how much I hated that one). And when he says it's NOT a Laurel trilogy, I'm expecting there to be lots and lots of Laurel. In fact, more Laurel per episode than I can actually tolerate.
  6. Ooh, I hate Mary. She's such a bitch to her sister, Edith. But I'm a few seasons behind, so maybe she gets better? No, probably not. Yikes if Jullian Fellowes based Mary on his wife, because I find her to be awful. Sybil was always my fave. It sucks that the actors on DA only had three year contracts because I wasn't happy about some of them that decided to leave.
  7. IIRC, didn't KC mention that Tommy was taking advantage of Laurel, or something like that? Thoughts like that just feed into one of my issues with Laurel. She's always a victim. Tommy was taking advantage of her, everyone leaves her (by DYING!), and she's constantly kidnapped or in need of rescue due to either being kidnapped or making really dumb life choices. It's fine, you know, people like this exist in real life, but I can't say that I have the desire to associate with any of them or be pulled into their drama-filled lives. ETA: Here's the interview where KC mentions Tommy taking advantage of Laurel: http://collider.com/comic-con-stephen-amell-and-katie-cassidy-talk-arrow-playing-a-superhero-and-the-possibility-of-black-canary/
  8. I'm absolutely here for the reactions to the next four episodes, and I find myself hoping things go as badly as I'm expecting them to. But I figure that I don't need to actually watch the show to gauge how things are going, you guys will do that for me. Now, if the response is terrible, I might wring my hands in glee and catch the next four eps. at some point just so I can point and laugh with you all. We shall see.
  9. Felicity with Laurel? Nope. Suicide Squad? Nope. I was not a fan of that episode at all. And if people's predictions are correct that Oliver and Felicity won't get together until May sweeps, I'm not sure when I'll tune in again...nothing coming up sounds interesting at all.
  10. I just binge-watched Black Sails this weekend, and man, that was entertaining. The show has a pretty large cast, but it felt like everyone got a fair amount of screentime. The characters were layered; there were no good guys or bad guys. People that seemed mostly good did some really bad things. The show could be pretty violent, and some really terrible things happened, but there was still a good bit of humor, and the dark subject matter contrasted well with the beautiful, sunny, ocean scenery. Basically it succeeded in a lot of areas where Arrow fails. Plus, the theme music is pretty awesome. I recommend it!
  11. Helix returns on January 16th, too. The first season was ridiculous and Billy Campbell's perpetual whisper is definitely ridiculous, but I find ridiculous sci fi entertaining. I'm really hoping that the very pretty Balleseros is returning because he's not on the cast page on Syfy's Helix page :( BBC America looks like it has some really great shows coming this year. The Musketeers is returning in January, Broadchurch S2 is coming in March, Ripper Street S3 is returning sometime in early 2015, Luther will have a two-part event sometime this year, and there are a few new shows that look interesting. I'm excited!
  12. One of the major problems here is that many people who dislike Laurel don't want her anywhere near Team Arrow. I realize that to make Laurel a relevant character, they have to have her interacting with Diggle, Felicity, and Oliver, but honestly, that's the last place I want to see her. This is why Laurel will never work for me. I don't want to see her interacting with Team Arrow trio, but when she is in her own storyline interacting only with Ted, her mom, or her dad, I resent her for taking precious minutes away from storylines I actually care about. They're damned if they do and damned if they don't, basically.
  13. You just know that if Laurel eventually gets a win, whomever she saves will probably ask her, "Who are you?" And then she'll respond (with dramatic background music, of course), "I'm the Black Canary." And then I'll laugh and laugh and laugh. OK, no I won't because I won't be watching, but I could totally see this happening. That Laurel Lance, always trying to save the world.
  14. Haha! I'm not even going to click on those Manu Bennett pictures (NSFW!). I was just curious about SA on Hung because he had said "In the hung hierarchy, I was the less hung guy." Now now, that's probably not true.
  15. All I have to do is look at the other 40,000 attempts to make Laurel relevant and think about the "emmy-worthy" acting to know that attempt number 40,001 will be an epic fail for me. I'm over, I'm done, and I'll tune back in when Oliver returns, or when I hear a spoiler, any spoiler, that gets me excited about the show again. But I am hoping that having more Laurel in the next four episodes means the rest of the season will be very light on the Laurel. Not counting on that, but I am crossing my fingers.
  16. I have to ask (since our minds are in the gutter today :) I know that SA was on Hung and he played a prostitute. Did he sleep with women or men (or both)? Also, he has talked about filming the show and mentioned that he didn't wear one of those modesty pouches because it was embarrassing (more embarrassing than walking around naked!!?? Probably not when you look like SA). Did this show have full frontal nudity for the guys? Just curious. You don't see that too often on most shows. I tried to watch an episode once, but it was boring so I never gave it a second chance (not saying I'm going to give it a second chance if SA is naked...just asking).
  17. On his twitter, Guggenheim mentions that we met the Mayor of Starling City in episode 7 and we'll see her again in episode 11. I don't remember that happening at all...
  18. You'd better be careful with your tweets, lady (whoever this lady is), or people will get the (mistaken, of course) impression that the next few episodes are Laurel-heavy. Like a Laurel trilogy or something. I personally liked the tweet about the 2nd part of Laurel's BC evolution and how the writers "have touched on every part of a superhero's journey." How many episodes has this lady watched? So in like three or four episodes, the writers have managed to do for Laurel what has still not been accomplished in Oliver's journey as a superhero? No, that doesn't sound right, considering the fact that Guggenheim has said that Laurel is going to get her ass beat. I'm just waiting for reactions from people who have no idea what is coming. Their heads are going to explode! If you don't read spoilers, no way you're going to expect Laurel to be suiting up in episode 10. I admit, I am filled with glee thinking about people freaking out over this (not excited about much else, though, at the moment).
  19. USD POLL : Who is you least favorite new character on Arrow season 3? You can vote for 1 option: http://www.spoilertv.com/2014/12/usd-poll-who-is-you-least-favorite-new.html USD POLL : Who was the worst death of this year? You can vote for 4 options (be careful, this one is a bit spoilery if you're behind on your TV viewing!) http://www.spoilertv.com/2014/12/usd-poll-who-was-worst-death-of-this.html
  20. AKA "Big Dick Paul." That one always makes me laugh. Dylan Bruce is not the best actor, but he sure is pretty to look at. I was sad that his role was reduced in OB season 2.
  21. BR should probably dial it down 10 notches. Ha :) Too late, the damage is already done on Arrow, but that Hallmark movie with BR and the cat was really cute. Speaking of Hallmark movies, Dylan Bruce (Paul from Orphan Black and Adam Donner from Arrow) will be in a Valentine's Day movie with Amy Acker called A Novel Romance. It premieres January 10th. Sorry, but I love all these cheesy Hallmark movies.
  22. Yeah, regarding what happened on The 100 last night...can't say I'm sad about that. I didn't think they would actually do it but I'm hoping it sticks! This is how you deal with problematic characters, Arrow. I'm loving Jane the Virgin. It's my favorite new show this season. This week's episode was hilarious with a kidnapping victim trying to escape by following instructions from an episode of a telenovela. And I just loved the heartbreaking look that Rogelio gave Xo (claiming he was "acting") and how he called in a favor from Paulina Rubio. This show makes me happy while Arrow makes me miserable! The Musketeers season 2 returns to BBC America on January 17th. Colin Salmon is joining the cast, but I'm not sure how many episodes he'll be in.
  23. No, I'm not on facebook, so I can't do that. Did other people guess Starling City? The Arrow people should really talk to the Sleepy Hollow people about wigs. I quite like Ichabod's wig, it actually looks really good to me. The Flash and Arrow wigs are...awful.
  24. People are dumb, so that's very possible. Speaking of dumb, Oliver has a stupid look on his face. Maybe this is when he spots Laurel and Tommy together kissing or something.
  25. Well, the Vertigo episode was when Felicity and Oliver broke up, so with things coming "full circle," maybe this episode is their reunion (and we get a lot more than a kiss). One can hope, but I'm still going to assume Oliver's return is all a Vertigo-induced hallucination so I'm not disappointed.
