I think Juancho friend zoned her almost immediately. I never got the sense that she was bitter about it; I think she really hit the nail on the head when she said the guy for her wouldn't have to look past all her woo woo spiritual beliefs to love her; he would her, in part, because of them. They were never my favorite couple but I liked that the need had a huge fight and just sort of seemed to enjoy the experience for what it was. I think they both knew very early on that they wouldn't be married after Decision Day.

I'm pretty sure it was the cruise line's private island. We have seen it before - sometimes there are passengers there and other times it seems to be a staff retreat of sorts. I was bored. I had pretty low expectations but still... yawn...

Does there have to be more to the story? Why can't it just be that he is a straight up asswipe?

Thank you! Fingers crossed!!!

Is the reunion usually filmed a year after the original season??? I don’t remember what I did last week…

My mom just had her aortic valve replaced (albeit, TAVR, not open heart). She was in the hospital, total, for 24 hours including the time for paperwork before the procedure. She is 86 years old.

Yikes! Rest up and get well!

It's a low bar... Ah. It was strange though because it looked to me like the center stone was really cloudy. I did like the design of the ring though I'd be scared to walk around with an actual diamond that size. Not that I live in a super-dangerous place but... Emem is a nurse practitioner and I believe she does own a Medspa sort of place where she does botox and filler, etc. I imagine in Chicago that is a pretty lucrative sort of place. Good on her. I think that is a big part of it but they also seem to have the same sense of humor and they both love the bar scene and partying. None of that is necessarily a foundation for a strong marriage, but I think they could have fun together for awhile. I think David is a player and he will tire once he has Madison in the bag. I can't believe it either, literally. I didn't see any evidence at all that Karla is envious of Emem's new man. In fact, she seemed to be not-so-impressed with him and that the only thing providing light at the end of his tunnel is a relationship with a woman with whom he has had only one date. Of the women, Michelle and Karla are single, Emem has rebound firefighter, Camille has Tom and Madison has David. You didn't mention the men but three of five of them are single - Juan, Allen and Ike. David has... Madison and Tom has Camille.

Completely agree. I'm thrilled she is feeling happiness but I wish she would give it time.

At a bare minimum, if she is looking forward to wearing a ring and planning a wedding, have a long engagement. Unfortunately, on AfterParty is really sounded like she is getting married again before the ink is dry on both sets of divorce papers. Obviously we don't know much about him (hell, Emem doesn't know much about him) but he said he is a firefighter (not necessarily high-paying, but decent benefits) and also has a real estate license. He may actually have a decent income and who knows what his former wife might do for a living. Divorce is expensive and kids are expensive but I don't get the sense this guy is a slacker. I wonder if Emem owns her home or rents. Either way, it's plush.

I saw that Janelle suggested that anyone who is so moved could make a donation to their local animal shelters in Garrison's memory. What a lovely tribute. May he Rest In Peace. To all those of you who have lost loved ones, particularly children, I hope that you find peace and comfort in memories of happier times together.

I mean - she did get married at first sight. By comparison, this relationship is proceeding at a glacial pace. Seeing what I have seen of them, I wouldn't, but generally I imagine they are fun to drink with. Both of them seem to like the bar scene. Madison is good for a couple of bawdy toasts. They can both probably hold their own in shooting pool or throwing darts or whatever else people do to entertain themselves while they drink.

I don’t think that she has ever claimed to be an expert about anything, though she did say she was a yoga instructor. I think she just talked about what she believes. She could also believe that water is dry and grass is purple. That would demonstrate a lack of basic knowledge but she could still genuinely believe those things. Bottom line, I think Karla is flighty and sort of woo woo about a lot of things, but I don’t find her to be fake. She might have been one of the ones this season who was most genuinely herself, which revealed pretty quickly that Juan was not the guy for her. And Catholics do eat meat during Lent, but not on Ash Wednesday and Fridays.

I think Ick and Emem might have kissed in the short window between the wedding and them starting to hate each other. FWIW, I don’t think the main stone was a diamond. I thought I heard the salesperson say it was some sort of emerald (though it wasn’t green)… Also, at the birthday party for Thomas, when David said he was leaving because he had to go to work, was it Madison who said “goodbye losers?”

Right. Not my point. There are Catholics who use birth control. There are probably Jews who eat pork and Hindis that eat beef. That doesn’t meant they don’t truly believe what they believe. Karla isn’t a strict adherent to what you think are the tenets of her faith (though I don’t believe she ever mentioned a specific faith or organized religious group to which she belongs). That doesn’t mean she is “fake” or doesn’t genuinely believe what she has decided to believe.

He said he got them a hotel room. I figured he probably had someone else decorate too. I don’t think he is that organized or that creative. I too, did not enjoy seeing them bask in the afterglow of their morning sex. I would say that Emem is rushing into this second marriage way too fast but then I remembered I’m watching Married at First Sight. This is “taking things slow” by that standard. I thought Michelle looked amazing again on AfterParty.

Also Austin and Jessica. They seem to be genuinely happy and have two really cute kids. -
It did 😀

Sadly I've been here since the beginning. I don't know why I keep hoping for logic...

Feel free to post a screen shot... There are lots of variations in how individuals practice their faith. Karla may truly believe but her practice is very different from what your friends and family practice. She may cobble together different practices and beliefs from multiple faiths. I'm lapsed Catholic and my spirituality probably has some remnants of that as well as other beliefs I have developed over the years. It probably doesn't look much like other people's spirituality but it doesn't mean that I don't truly believe what I believe.

I guess there is no way for us to know. She just struck me as pretty genuine in her beliefs. I don’t know that it was her beliefs that led to the loss of her job as much as it’s her “free spirit” and her “inability to be managed.” I think she is flighty in a lot of ways, not just the woo-woo religious stuff.
-
I will be curious to know why just staying out of the water doesn't solve this problem...
-
To you maybe, but I think she genuinely believes it. And it's no crazier than what people in any number of other mainstream religions believe.
-
Calling it "abnormal" is judgmental. My husband would say that it's my body, ergo my choice. I don't tell him what to do with his body either. That is what marriages between two loving and respectful adults is about.

Dude. Saying "is that the thing people do on their honeymoons" IS judging them. Or perhaps you just have a completely different definition of the word.
