A little of that. A little football. Much hand-wringing over the Os offseason mistakes...

I love musicals, but last night was "How I Learned to Drive". A pretty serious (and short) piece, followed by Free Beer Friday. Which had nothing to do with me choosing to go on a Friday night. Nothing at all.

I fell asleep just as it turned into today in LA. When I woke up to go to bed, I thought it was really mean of the local Fox station to make the news team still do the post-game news. Then I realized it was the morning news...

Joe Buck just said it's the longest game, so it must be true. Or something. Happy Birthday Mojoween Junior!!!

It's still yesterday in Los Angeles... I'm so glad that all I have planned for tomorrow is sitting on my couch. And maybe laundry.

Yeah. If you catch the ball, you've made a play, so the ball is "in play" and the runner can advance. If that makes no sense, I'll just claim middle of the night brain death.

I went to the theatre tonight...and still get almost an entire ball game to watch!

As usual when my team isn't in it (and they never are), I'm rooting for 7 games. This will give me more time before I have to start watching news all the time.
  14. I saw Beetlejuice Wednesday night. It was the second public performance, so I can forgive the 2 times they had to stop the show for set mishaps and the half-hour intermission because they lost power to the light boards. I thought the cast was uniformly excellent, although Barbara and Adam were kinda bland characters. The songs were mostly forgettable. The show meandered way too much, so it was way too long. The sets and lighting, though, were spectacular! It was a mildly amusing evening. Hopefully they can tighten it up some, although it's still Beetlejuice, so it's never going to be great.

Yeah. I wasn't too sorry to see him leave.
  16. oooooo...thanks. I was just about to delete it on my scheduled recordings. I won't now!
  17. If we're lucky! I saw him again in concert last month and he's still got it.
  18. Thanks @UYI! I enjoyed reading the list along with your thoughtful insights.

Bengals - Who Dey Saints - Who Dat (I only remember this because a friend is a Bengals fan. Something to do with Boomer.) Totally agree with the other sentiment!

Did you have to bring up 1969?? I was just this season softening on the Mets...and now I'm having flashbacks. Thanks for nuthin'....... I remember a few day games where I wasn't in school because it was...Yom Kippur. So we'd go out to the car to listen on the radio since no TV on in the house because...Yom Kippur. Somehow, it didn't seem fair that I was off school and couldn't watch the game.

I hope he'd stay here - if the team wants him to stay here. But let's face it, this organization is nothing if not stupid. We'll see...

Well, no, not officially. I don't think he can negotiate with anyone until after the Series, and I think he at least wants to talk around. But we said a lovely goodbye at the ballpark on Sunday. As I said, I'd like to have to do that again when he re-signs here. In my dreams...

Adios Buck... this makes me really sad. And I just wanted to say about Harvey's Wallbangers - they ruined Thanks Earl Day for me back in 1982. But...it's kinda hard not to like them. I've enjoyed both trips to Milwaukee to see games. County Stadium reminded me a lot of Memorial Stadium. And Miller Park is nice. I love that the fans tailgate baseball games. Don't see that in many places. Did I mention how sad I am that Buck and Adam won't be around? Because I am.

I love Adam Jones. What a lovely day at the ballpark. Nothing would make me happier than having to say goodbye to him again in a few years...
