I got the feeling he was vamping to fill time. There was an awful lot of time-filling going on. -
S41.E91: Special: Good Night Sweet Prince

I agree. I really wanted a performance to end the show, but knowing he was on so few times, I figured they had run out of songs. The tall, blonde woman next to Maya was one of the Haim sisters. And while I did enjoy the show, I found the one number (or skit)/one commercial format really annoying. I said to Mr ebk that I wondered how they would fill 90 minutes with so few performances. We found out pretty quickly. -
Mr ebk says Cats paid the mortgage on the house. So...it's good! :-) It sat at our theatre for 8 months back in the day. The best part was the cast. The understudies put on A Little Night Music one Monday evening in the lobby lounge. It was fabulous!

LSSC: Season One All Episodes Talk

I would totally eat Lucky Charms with Bailey's for breakfast! I could even leave out the Lucky Charms... The puppies named Line were adorable. And Leslie Odom Jr is quite charming. I did think that Jon's anecdote about Prince was a little ... weird. In that he talked about the aura and presence he had, and the example he picked was Prince telling some guy to stop filming him with his phone. Ah well -
In Memoriam: Those We Have Lost from the Music Industry

During the annual waste of time called performance reviews, I remember my last, best goal set at the end of 1998 for the next year was Party Like It's 1999! Yes, I still have that review somewhere... (and yes, I'm still at that job) I hope it's okay that I post these here. Two Broadway shows tonight did tributes during curtain calls:- 566 replies

In Memoriam: Entertainment Industry Celebrity Deaths

Damn. This make me ill... really ill. -
Of course it's time to panic. After all, the first week of the season tells us exactly how the rest of the season will go!! That's why I'm totally getting ready for the O's to win the World Series! :-)

S41.E17: Russell Crowe / Margo Price

Table for five. If we can get one more, we can get a reservation at a place that only takes reservations for parties of 6 or more... Agree that this show (and last week) was totally mediocre, even though the host(s) did well. -
Wait a minute - I'm married to a stagehand and I get squadoosh from him, seat-wise! Good thing I have friends in the biz... :-)

I'm so happy that the Yankees ticketing bullshit has come to national prominence. I'll be in NY while my team (let's go O's!) is there and it's tough to afford the high prices there without the secondary market. Hope they change the policy before August. Also, I'll vouch for Johnny's Half Shell as far as the food goes. It's been wonderful the times I've been. And just for the record, they do serve real breakfast. You don't have to eat a bucket of shrimp for your morning meal.

Thanks. In the grand scheme of things, it was a lovely day. Lunch at our favorite place. Ballpark. Then...rain delay with no rain. Then 2 innings. Then rain. Real rain. So when it stopped raining, we walked back to our favorite dining place and sat at the bar and watched the rest of the game. Yay team!!!
-
Holy shit - that was amazing!!!

I think - think, but may be making this totally up - that half of the teams opened on Monday (first game always the Reds) and half the teams opened on Tuesday. So the teams that opened Monday had Tuesday off so as not to dilute the importance of opening day for the Tuesday teams. But that might be something that I always wished was true. Leaving for the ballpark shortly. Here's hoping for NO RAIN!!!! Let's go O's!!!!!!!!
-
Happy Baseball Season everyone!!
-
So...if anyone in the greater Baltimore/DC Metro area is free Monday, I have an extra ticket to the O's Opening Day - $25. (Unless I can get some sucker - I mean wonderful O's fan - to buy it on StubHub)
-
And so were the Diane Rehm scenes! I was laughing so hard, Mr ebk came out to make sure I was okay.
-
Wow. That was a wild game. Since my best friend is a 'Cuse grad and my bracket it toast...let's go Orange!!
-
Please please please don't buy tickets from CraigsList or on street corners! Most of those tickets (at least to the sold out shows - especially Hamilton) are fakes. And you have no way to get your money back. At least if you buy resale tickets through TicketMaster or StubHub, you won't lose your money, even if the tickets are fake.

Jac, for the average Broadway show, there's no need to plan too far in advance. I usually scout the discount sites (Playbill and BroadwayBox) for codes and will buy my tickets anywhere from a couple of weeks to the day of the show. That's obviously not true for the big hits. For Book of Mormon, I bought tickets 6 months out. For Hamilton, 10 months. I'd check the ticketing sites (usually TicketMaster or Telecharge) and see how availability is. As far as student discounts, I know most shows have rush tickets that are sold the day of the show. Some are student rush, some general. It seems to be an individual show decision. You'd need to check the show website and see what they offer. Or maybe Playbill. I think I've read they have a rush page. Good luck and hope you enjoy your time here!

In that picture, the new Phillies 'head is directly behind QuackerJack. That has been moved...off to the side. Now, in the back row of that shelf is Screech (Nats mascot), the Phillie Phanatic, and the Houston Comets mascot Haley. It's a crowded shelf.

The Game of the Week was the best. Joe and Tony Kubek - great way to spend the afternoon.
-
Thanks for posting this. Good to see he's enjoying himself. And I would have totally walked by him in the street and had no idea who he was...

QuackerJack has arrived! He's at home now in the mascot tower between Ballapeno and Henry the Puffy Taco from the San Antonio Missions. We had a great time at that game!! Thank you so much, Moose135! I really appreciate it!!
