  1. Pierson Fodè (former Thomas) appears in a couple of episodes of the new Peacock series Based on a True Story.
  2. Exactly, and I gave that example because Carolina Herrera no longer does any design work even though the line retains her name and her ownership. It’s still her line, but Wes is the lead designer and creative director. Plus, at this point Hope has been the head of this line for over a decade. She learned her business acumen by roaming the halls of Forrester as a kid and watching her mom and Ridge and even Eric just as much as Thomas and Steffy can lay claim to that type of training. Let’s face it, they are all nepo babies. Hope’s online popularity as an influencer and her messaging were what prompted the line, but she has taken that opportunity and turned it into something more. It is her line no matter which designer is working for her.
  3. My vote is for Jesse Tyler Ferguson. He’s a foodie and has written a cookbook Food Between Friends with his best friend. He has a new podcast called Dinner’s on Me. He has previous hosting experience on Extreme Makeover Home Edition. Iirc, he has also served as a guest judge on Top Chef. I think he can be both humorous and warm plus he’d be different enough to avoid comparisons with Padma.
  4. Mason Alexander Park just joined the London West End production of Cabaret as the Emcee. https://www.instagram.com/reel/Csk9P-7Ivgr/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
  5. In real life just because a line has a person’s name it doesn’t mean they are the sole designer or that they even do any designs themselves (even if they started out doing so). A line normally has several designers with one head designer who helps to make sure everything coordinates for that season. The person with the name on the label may just handle the business design and/or they may help with the curation of the overall idea for the line for each season (color, fabric choices, etc). In B&B world Hope has the name on the label and Thomas is the lead designer. ETA: Real life example is that Wes Gordon is the lead designer for the Carolina Herrera line
  6. That’s the point though that Steffy did not have to put her in the position of hiring Thomas or losing the line entirely. I don’t blame Hope for wanting to protect what she’s worked for as well as protecting the jobs of the other people that we don’t see that would work for her line. Steffy made a decision to possibly cut the line after an arbitrarily short time of the line not bringing in higher numbers (that timeline wouldn’t even make sense in the real world because of fashion world seasons). Again, Steffy could have hired Thomas back for any of their other lines or she could have held off until her dad returned to make a decision about that. She also could have worked with Hope on other solutions to save the line like hiring a new designer or working on a new ad campaign. Instead she blindsided Hope into making a choice between Thomas and losing the line for good. For Hope, that was really no choice at all. However, after Hope gave in and accepted Thomas every day at work someone is asking her if she can handle working with Thomas or worrying about her working with him, etc. I agree that the people in her life try to limit her agency, but my position is that Steffy also did that by interfering in the HFTF decisions and forcing Hope into taking Thomas back when everyone knew there had been previous issues with the two of them.
  7. I am interested in seeing this. I have visited the prison on a school related trip. It’s very remote in the Mississippi Delta area, which historically has its own issues. We toured one of the prison areas (the area deemed safer for guests) and spoke with a handful of inmates there. We also toured a separate building that was set up more boot camp style for juvenile offenders that also had classrooms for rehabilitation. Our final stop was lunch in the cafeteria where inmates served as cafeteria workers. We ate alongside staff and some prisoners. This was 20 years ago, so I can’t speak to any current conditions of the prison. At that time they also had a large farm on the premises to grow food for the facility.
  8. At one point he did have his “artist’s loft”, but that passed to Thomas and then later to his “best friend” Carter. Apparently in Bell L.A. there is a housing shortage even for rich people. Even Thomas can’t seem to find a house. And he and Paris had to room together in the squatty apartment for a while.
  9. I’m still wondering why Liam didn’t call Steffy out for forcing Hope into taking Thomas back in the first place? She could have easily given him a job with one of the other lines and found a hot new designer to lead HFTF. She forced them to work together and then worries about them working together. Make it make sense. I think if everyone would just shut up about it each and every day Hope questioning her feelings would go away.
  10. https://people.com/jason-ritter-to-still-appear-on-wife-melanie-lynskey-s-yellowjackets-after-unaired-cameo-7504865 Apparently our suspicions that they will use the Jason Ritter footage next season has been confirmed. I’m also wondering if Juliette Lewis leaving was a preemptive cost cutting measure. I’m guessing she was probably the highest paid actor on the show. The network may have called for a cut in anticipation of the strikes and/or the show runners may have thought they had a better chance of renewal if they cut costs on their own.
  11. Sorry about that. Tired brain this evening. Still, my argument stands because streaming services have been cutting content rapidly recently to be competitive. If this show is not bringing in new subscribers or getting award nominations they will not keep it around when budget cuts are necessary.
  12. By my estimation, they’ve been out there for about 9 months in the past and IIRC they were stranded 18 months total. That being said, I’m not sure HBO/MAX SHOWTIME is going to give them more than one more season and they may even cut the number of episodes of season 3. Streaming service have been cutting content recently and with the budget cuts that will surely come down the pike after the writers’ (and possibly actors’) strike they will likely make more cuts. If the show is not bringing the network attention or awards it’s dead weight to them.
  13. I agree. The director made the whole thing about herself. I wonder if that’s all the narrative she was left with when so many refused to participate? The Alopecia talk really should have been a whole different documentary and the director should not have inserted herself into the narrative. It was jarring and sad that the one girl had been roofied three times and was found lying in the woods the last time. Also sad that she and the director seemed to treat it like no big deal. I was proud that Makayla saw that was becoming someone she was not and didn’t like and that she had the strength to get out.
  14. The only possible good news is that the actors will also likely be striking in a month’s time so the higher ups will have time to figure out to improve the show. I’m sure they will listen to our suggestions. [/sarcasm] I hope they start with reducing repetitive conversations.
  15. I thought that Taylor and Deacon had good chemistry a while back when they were hanging out together in her office. It sort of seemed like they were chem testing them and then they just dropped it for her to be pining for Ridge again. I’d like them to get together this time because that would at least be something fresh and a new start for them both.
  16. I just discovered that Lawrence Saint Victor is one of the writers on the show. I’ve been checking out the socials for the cast while they are posting pics of their location shoot and he mentioned his recent Emmy nomination as part of the writing staff. You’d think he’d give himself better material. I don’t know why the characters think going to tell off Sheila in jail is very productive. She just feeds off the attention.
  17. That’s why Josh Griffin fired them right before the May 1st deadline when the strike would begin. It’s part of the writers argument that the studios are using loopholes to pay them less than ever before which affects their ability to make a liveable wage.
  18. I know that B&B has always tried to honor their fans in other countries by having location shoots, but the timing of this one seems excessive given the writers’ strike. I know this was planned way in advance, but how is the show continuing production given the strike? Did they fire all the writers except one like Y&R? I’m surprised the actors are not stopping work in solidarity with the writers. Was it strategic to film in a foreign country to skirt union rules?
  19. KKL has posted press day photos of the cast being on location in Italy. They have been filming there the past two days. I’m not sure when the episodes will air.
  20. Hope dropped the water bottle again today so maybe there is something to it. That can’t be a coincidence.
  21. Steffy’s outfit reminds me a bit of the costumes from the 80’s movie Heathers. (Although Steffy’s version is much worse) As for the water bottle drop by Hope, I guess I just assumed that the actress accidentally dropped it and they didn’t bother with another take. I’ve seen them include things like fumbling for a purse or other props and soaps are notorious for getting just one take to save money. Anything is possible with this weird show though.
  22. The tires would likely be flat and dry rotted. Being stored in a barn it would also probably have mice and/or snakes. The car would not be drivable if left sitting for that long.
  23. The problem is that he may have grand plans now, but the likelihood is that budget cuts will be coming down the pike after the writers strike. The question will be what form those cuts will take. Will he phase out the veterans in favor of cheaper actors or will he scrap the new generation once again?
  24. The chef today is a real pizza chef. His name is Daniele Uditi. There seems to suddenly be a lot of cameos. I’m wondering if it’s a cost cutting measure so that they don’t keep as many full contract actors.
  25. Does anyone know how far in advance the show has filmed so far before the writer’s strike will catch up? I’m also wondering what cuts the show might make in regards to storytelling.
