  1. Okay, let's first start with spelling her name right: Claudia Jordan. I started following her back in 2008 when she was an unknown to me voice on Jamie Foxx's radio show. I thought she was funny and, at the time, shared a lot about herself. She is sarcastic and has been trying to get onto a reality show for some time now. I remember she shot a pilot for a show featuring her and Melyssa Ford from Blood, Sweat and Heels. It didn't get picked up but that hasn't stopped her. I mainly tuned into this season just to see how she fairs. I hope she doesn't do too much acting.
  2. I missed the first half of the show and tuned in when Nicki Minaj performed her first number. I didn't know either of the songs she performed but was a little more interested in the lyrics of her second performance. As for WU, I thought it was an interesting segment but the studio audience was no into it at all so it fell flat. I laughed a bit though. And I am happy to see I was not the only one wondering why The Fresh Prince theme song needed to be removed. I just knew Franco's character was going to say it could stay.
  3. I watched this whole season and found it hilarious. As for this short, I'm in a local film club so I know some folks who have made short films before. Of all of the shorts, I've never seen anyone make money from them directly like you would a feature. I understand they are all busy but why so many locations and such a waste of the filming days. The production schedule looked horrible. And continuing on horrible, why make a basic short when you are trying to showcase what your unseen talents are. Those clips and scenes look like every other run of the mill production. Nothing anyone is missing. And if Paula wanted to impress her mother, she should have taken Mama to the True Blood premiere.
  4. Season 1 was definitely the best and I haven't really laughed since. I haven't really been watching this season but I just watched the last 4 episodes so I'm caught up. I still find the women to be hilarious (probably because they aren't featured as much). Regina Hall (King) has been cracking me up and the Orange is the New Black episode had me giggling.
  5. I have no idea because I never asked. If I see him in a few days, and remember, I'll ask.
  6. So, a few weeks ago, I saw one of the guys from the phone charger service business. I had met him before he appeared on Shark Tank but this was only my second time meeting him. He is really cool and had no problem talking about his time on the show. Also, business seems to be moving along. He mentioned that they were not ready when they appeared and had been contacted by a casting person who had mutual associates with them. Since it's been a few weeks, I don't remember everything but they are getting some work with local businesses.
  7. It's funny you mention the movie because as Michaela is trying to slap her, I immediately stated that the young girl must not have seen A Thin Line. I enjoy seeing Lynn Whitfield and A Thin LIne is probably the role I associate her with the most.
  8. While I didn't find this episode as great as others, there were still funny parts (that have mostly been mentioned). One thing I liked was the kids thoughts at the Beef Plantation. I like when Dre said something about getting all of that food for lost cost but then one of the kids mentioned it being genius because no one would want to eat it. It reminds me of my family because my parents stay at Golden Corral but my siblings and I hate it. Charlie had me in tears when he was talking about how he became the breadwinner at 8.
  9. I generally enjoyed this show, just how I enjoyed watching Project Greenlight. However, just like Project Greenlight, I had no interest in watching the movies. I like these kind of shows because I am interested in filmmaking and like to see the behind-the-scenes action. I generally find it more interesting than the movies. But these were not the types of movies I would see. I can't even see myself watching it on demand and I'm pretty liberal about what I watch there. Also, I am not surprised that Youtube subscribers do not translate into ticket sales. I am not saying it is not possible but there is a big difference between watching something for free and having to pay to show your support. Most of the actors that I am a fan of, I have seen their movies and have no problems paying to see them in the future. However, for those making web series and online reviews, just because I laugh for free does not really mean I am ready to pay to see you entertain me. As such, I can see why the girls would only go to the movie when Shane was there.
  10. "Everybody loves a hot mess" is a great line but Paula is still cray. Also, thank you Lisa for reminding me of your role on RHoA. How could I forget all of the instigating you did on season 1. I guess, while these actresses like drama, it can't just come out of left field. I can't believe I am even watching this show but I am enjoying the delusions running rampart throughout the cast. I am in.
  11. I just came to post about that awful name, "Erika Cole by Raquel". Nice to know I am not the only one who thought it was terrible. As for this salon, I didn't care. I'll look out for an update but salons are pretty much a dime a dozen.
  12. So I have been watching SNL regularly for the past couple of seasons but I can't say that I've found most of the sketches funny. I knew Chris Rock was hosting, and I have been a fan of his work, so I know how funny his stand-ups/awards show hostings are as opposed to his movies. I found the monologue to be vintage Rock and the funniest stuff I have seen him do in years. The commercialization and gun control jokes were really great. The whole Freedom Tower bit had me going. Most of the skits were flat. After seeing the back of Leslie Jones' head in the Top Five commercials, I was not surprised to see more of her tonight. However, though a sketch with just Rock and Jones should be great, the Uber/Anniversary sketch didn't work for me. I so wanted to laugh but the jokes weren't there. Same with the How's He Doing sketch. Other than the intro of the panelists, I didn't really find it funny. I didn't find it funny when Kerry Washington was the host either. As for Prince, I just watch to see how he is going to disappoint me. I don't expect much from him anymore but he was slightly entertaining.
  13. I just found this show while searching my OnDemand and since I am interested in anything involving film making, I was in. However, I couldn't help but notice the abundance of what seems like white people involved in this show. As such, I have accepted this but it became laughable when they started "worrying" about diversity among the actors. Thus, I will not be surprised by the roles given to the few POC in these movies.
  14. While watching the wig and makeup come off, for a moment, I thought the last 9 words were going to be "You is kind. You is smart. You is important." I watch this show because of Viola but sometimes I really do not know what is going on. And I barely care, but I do still watch. Lastly, I am not used to office buildings having windows that open (or at least open so wide and easy).
  15. As one who graduated from law school, I understand what everyone is saying. However, while I made one "that would never happen in law school" statement, it didn't stop me from watching and enjoying the show. I don't expect realism in TV and definitely not in a Shonda show. But I can't front, these comments are funny though I am not sure if I want to take that trip down memory lane back to law school. I don't miss it at all. But one thing that stuck out was that since this was a criminal law class, it did take me back to my crim law professor. We had assigned seats after the first day but she was old school and taught common law crimes with a nod to the MPC. I literally just had this discussion with much more seasoned attorneys on whether schools should be teaching the practice of law. As a career student, I still see the benefit of learning theory and can't imagine my "crim law 100" class aka my first year course being taught based solely on one professor's practice of law. Lastly, I guess it was supposed to be okay to make the students miss torts since it was only for a competition/just optional and wouldn't really affect their grade.
  16. I stumbled on this episode so I missed the first few minutes. The show was definitely funnier than I expected. I had decided I was going to watch regardless because I find Anthony Anderson to be funny and generally enjoy Tracee Ellis Ross and Laurence Fishbourne. I am in and look forward to the season. However, I too was wondering about Andy/Dre Jr being 12 going on 13 in the 9th grade. While it is totally possible/not weird, just thought they might have explained whether he started early or was skipped. And I also thought they were going to fake it out by Andre Sr not getting the promotion. I do like that he was just placed in charge of "black stuff".
  17. Okay, I just watched this episode and it really explained a lot. Their ever rotating line up confused me so much when I was a kid. Back in 1990, I had no idea who was the member that killed someone and now I know why. I always though Tristan was an original member. Though I liked their music growing up, I never purchased any of their albums. When Tony died, I bought a "Best of Hi Five" CD. That compilation album really reminded me of the hits I enjoyed in my youth. Back to the episode, I know Tony's ex-fiancee loved him so but sweetheart, he was wrong for putting those randoms together and calling them Hi Five. The other three guys were right to shut down those album sales. Also, as stated above, I am not here for the group minus Tony. While they had rotating members, he wasn't one of them so their hits are all his voice. And whoever that guy was they have singing now is not even close to an adequate replacement. Lastly, I barely wonder when the members of the group began to "dabble" in cocaine and other drugs. Good to know that despite coming across as a creeper, Vinny Bell really was looking out for the guys. Sad that they started using.
  18. Wow, I totally missed this episode since I neither watch this show nor MTV but I heard about it from family today. I've been around these two before and have seen their beautiful little girl. I will have to watch the show to see what everyone is talking about but I'm pretty sure they were living for some time with his grandparents before the baby was born. I also don't think they ever really planned to move to Texas for good. I don't know the details of their situation so I can't say much other than his grandparents' really love (and clearly support) their first great grand.
