  1. 👆 I don't imagine the opportunity has presented itself yet, they've been working non-stop. I think it would be cool if Saru, Michael and Hugh became the new triumvirate. Or maybe they're saving that honour for Pike, Spock and Number One.
  2. That was a cool episode, shades of Charlie X? On another note, if they're setting up a demotion for Saru to put Michael in the captain's chair, I will so cut a bitch.
  3. I think there are two different groups, involving two different corrupt cops, that are coincidentally coming up against each other. As I see it, Charlie is working towards the goal of protecting his friend Michael. When Charlie started this, he probably didn't know it had anything to do with the hit-and-run until Kofi's arrest (which interrupted his plans) made it clear that Desiato's car was the involved vehicle. Then he realized what they were covering up, and got Mo (via Cunningham) to pressure Kofi into taking the fall. This will have the added benefit of making Michael even more indebted to him. But as far as Charlie is concerned, that's an end to it. The other group involves Baxter using his pet cop Cusack to help find his son's killer, less for the accident itself and more for just leaving his son to die when he maybe could have been saved. I think if it had just been an accident where the driver remained on scene doing all he could, he would have come to terms with it; he's out for blood not because of the hit, but because of the run. When Kofi was arrested driving the car that killed Rocco and was revealed to be a member of Desire, Baxter leapt to the conclusion that it wasn't an accident, that Desire used Kofi to kill Rocco in retaliation for a violent assault one of his guys committed against another Desire member a while ago. But it wasn't, all Mo knows is that he's helping Cunningham (and Charlie) in a coverup. There's a war coming, but Mo and Desire aren't expecting it. IMO
  4. I'm not convinced he was going to report it stolen at all. But the cop he left a message for, when he was going to turn Adam in for the hit-and-run, came asking what he wanted that night, and he had to think on his feet about a plausible reason for why he would have called her. The "stolen" car would have been top of mind.
  5. So I guess she resets and returns from the other dimension, and then goes back in time? Two observations: 1. Sonequa is such an over-actor. Her ham was on a whole other level than the others. She could take a lesson from Yeoh on subtlety. And I say that with the feeling that Yeoh has also been a bit hammy sometimes. 2. I really liked the exchange between Vance and Saru. I'd like to see more of that. Come to think of it, Saru seems to have strong chemistry with everyone he interacts with. I guess Doug Jones is that kind of actor. Ironic that he's spent so much of his career mute behind layers of makeup, because I find I need to see more of him interacting with others like a real person.
  6. Here in Canada, people are generally better (though not perfect) at following the health guidelines on masks. I think the nurse was referring to how the hospital staff may be more likely to be giving it to each other rather than getting it from patients, due to being more lax with the rules when not around patients. As for Jackie, I was under the impression that Louise did not want her brother dating Jackie. And Jackie knows that. It's really kind of sad, I feel bad for Jackie. Just going by the backstory presented in this revival, she's had a rough life that's impacted her self-esteem, and it would be nice to see her get some wins.
  7. It's interesting you guys bring this up. I was speaking to a hospital nurse recently and she said that they've noticed this second wave is hitting staff harder than patients. They figure it's because they take off their masks in the break room. Hopefully they can nip that in the bud.
  8. It bugged me more that she took down her mask. Hey Jackie, horses can get infections too. I was a bit taken aback by how rude he was. It's out of character for him. So much so that I thought it must be going somewhere, but then they dropped it.
  9. I don't think we've been told anything that would conflict with the assumption that Virginia has dispersed them around her various communities.
  10. LOL I like Madison. Probably because I like Kim Dickens. Or at least, she's been in several shows I like. Never mind, this is all about getting away from Virgina. Why would she think Alicia would answer that question? A: "I need to go somewhere you can't find me." V: "Where?" A: "Oh this cool place I used to live, let me tell you all about it!" That's hilarious that we can't even remember the driving force behind the lead character. I remembered who she was, but not what she looked like. The lady from the nuclear facility last season, who got pregnant. == Hey does anyone else think that Dakota (really who names their daughters after states, no wonder Virginia killed them) is all set up to betray them?
  11. The stadium? I'm telling you, Madison is coming back.
  12. I like that Andorian, I'd like to see him join the crew.
  13. He could have, but traditional story-telling would have Mike on his own from this point on. Rabbi might have survived and never reunited with Mike I suppose, but that's hardly satisfying to the viewing audience. 😉
  14. The torn page at the beginning of the show mentioned that 5 people died at the gas station on the day of the storm: 2 African-Americans, 2 Italians, and one Irishman. It seems Rabbi is indeed dead.
  15. My interpretation was that the lighted panels were showing the delivery path of the requested seeds. In other words, the seeds were way up in the vault and had to be moved down to a level where they could be retrieved. The lights just showed you where they currently were and when/where they would reach you.
  16. Do we know for a fact that he's not going back there once in a while? Who knows what the timelines are between episodes? As for Madison, it's likely Morgan saw her in Al's video right? So he at least knows what she looks and sounds like? Before the fire anyway.

And a dog. Don't forget Bear!
  18. I'm not convinced Morgan would recognize his saviour (sorry). He was pretty out of it at the time. I got the sense he just kind of woke up in that tower. ETA: I just hope it's Madison. Yeah I said it
  19. I didn't see masks in the preview, so it looks like COVID precautions will no longer figure into storylines much going forward. Glassman's wife was really pissing me off with the whole "I'm gonna sit here in silence and not help while you flail around looking for the right thing to say." That is not conducive to healthy communication, lady.
  20. Norman Lear should be a passenger!
  21. It could be a boon to those still engaging in arranged marriages. Knowing from birth who your kid should marry. I'd also like to see stories of good, decent people having to make choices when soulmates are outside societal norms, mentally or physically challenged for example.
  22. Finally a story that can only happen with the whole "soulmate" angle. Psychologically, some people would definitely consider their lives to be over if their soulmate were dead. And if that was the case, what kind of judgement could be passed on them, in a world that often says "love is everything"? Who are we to say that they could find someone "lesser" and still be "almost as happy"? And naturally these vulnerable people would be open to manipulation and fraud. Does anyone else think that Travis was murdered by the cult (probably after being forced to give his handprint to get his money), or is it just me? I guess the finale is based on the question "What if your soulmate was an asshole?", and that's valid for the premise of this show. As for next season (if there is one), so far all soulmates we've seen have been age-appropriate, so I'd be interested in "What if your soulmate was in a nursing home?" or "What if your soulmate is a baby?" But that would kind of spoil the premise. Because it's not all that different to the world we already live in, where you might be able to be imperfectly happy, if you choose a person who is "compatible enough."
  23. The mother ship set the precedent. We separate the cast and then spend the entire season getting them back together. Aside: the live watch thread really ruins this one. I can't participate in a scene-by-scene thread that's overwhelmingly fragmented, too confusing. I prefer to come here for cohesive analysis and opinion of the entire episode. But a lot of people don't come here after the live thread (understandably), and the in-depth conversation suffers. JMO.
  24. So somehow Adira came back to Earth after the transfer. Wondering how that happened when it was an outbound generational ship, not inclined to turn around.
  25. So overall, that was quite a heartwarming episode. I liked his chemistry with Saru. I'd love to see a Kirk/Bones vibe with them. Oh wow, maybe we did. Sweet What's the name of the reptilian crew member who seems to be taking a shine to her? That person seems pretty cool.
