S02.E18: Mothers & Daughters
maggiemae replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in A Million Little Things
I am so over the cutsy talk Gary and Maggie did between themselves and others, good grief. -
Can't imagine going against my "siblings" and mother and her husband of many years. And BTW - Jack was a much better father than Randall. And a better husband as well.
-
Yikes - MM is freaking out on twitter about the stats in NYC - Fasten your seatbelts for tomorrow.

I love Joy. And think she is so wise to quarantine herself at her age. And especially out of the most densely populated city in the world. I like to think of herself in the Hamptons where she has a home.....enjoying herself....and making lasagnes. She is well loved by her family.

I took care of my father during his dementia....not my 2 siblings. I would have been furious if one suggested sending him states away for 9 months! WTH? Plus I am really annoyed the kids do not acknowledge Michael after years and years of living and sleeping and taking care of her. He is her husband after all.

I don't think Whoopi's business partner was tested in Italy. Nor the US. Or was this the other person that landed in Palm whatever? I didn't understand that discussion.
-
I don't blame Joy at all for taking precautions. Will miss her. Especially since I think there will be few guests willing to come on in the near future.

Oh good grief - Randall in that hat?

Gee Whoopi - come to the epicenter and calm down.

Sunny Hostin: The Former Federal Prosecutor With the Facts!
maggiemae replied to GHScorpiosRule's topic in The View
I think all are smiley except for MM. -
Oh my - I've misplaced my Bitsy decoder ring - hopefully old timers (here and formerly TWOP) can find theirs and translate.
-
How Sunny's religious life affects her life is tempered as an attorney and believer in the bill of Rights, imo. She has mentioned that on the show.

Thanks everyone. This morning my sister called and one of her friends was a woman that died from the virus....they were at a party together a week ago Sunday....and I was with my sister and a friend for lunch last Tue.

I think it is easy to think when bad things are happening in another state or country they do not really affect you. Although we care about them. I live between a hospital with deaths from COVID19 and another one with cases in Wa. And am 73 and compromised. I wish the show could discuss this and what we all need. I know the woman on Friday did but I did not get the the fribolity about it all and how long it took to get to......well - I don't know what. I was not reassured. Not even with her beautiful photo with her husband. To be fair - Fri was a lot different from today. I went for groceries today - saw the useless masks on people (just 2 or 3). Left home after the death toll was 2 - came home to 6. Throughout our hospitals are treating patients . And a senior residence and 2 dozen firemen....etc. Some police as well. It has given me a whole new outlook on dismissing things that have no impact on one (or me) and even more have compassion for those going through just awful things like fires, hurricanes, floods. Zika, Ebola etc. And I feel pretty secure with my Gov Inslee and what he is doing for our state fighting this.

I'm almost over the show. Really don't like any of them except for Katherine. Gary is so exhausting and not even amusing anymore. I don't think Dakota is a real talent and could care less about her and her attitude. I'm not even fond of the baby story - saw disaster from the start when they got so involved.

I've lost both of my parents - but was older than MM. I know it takes time to grief and the amount of time rests with the person. But counting the days, and putting up photos and constantly talking about it to your friends and co-workers is too much. Talk privately with your family and select best friends, or with a place of worship or therapist. To put her dad on a pedastal and not acknowledge flaws is taking advantage of her enormous and more than one person has ever before experienced is unseemly. And IMO it ruins the flow of hot topics. Even guests.

Meghan has said she never read or watched "Game Change." MM likes to be ignorant and protected. She often used the word hate too much - remember when she said she hated Hillary on the show and had to apologize and blamed it on her hangover? She hates Steyer, perhaps Bloomberg. Says she only has R friends and then discusses all her weekend conversations with her D and I friends.

I have several old photos of 4 generations of women in my family starting with my great great grandmother. Ending with my grand mother, mother, daughters, and niece. I cannot fault Warren with family stories.

I loved when RE said you don't have a plan without a plan B.

Snark Talk: Home, Home on the (De) Ranged

Purely promoting her latest product. -
I am so thrilled this show is now on Hallmark - I am binging out after all these years missing it. I love the photography, the characters, the loyalty and angst among them. I've tried the new one - Magnum is not Magnum. Higgins is assuredly not Higgins. TC and Rick are not themselves.

Right or wrong.....I am as distressed as Joy is now.

Well - the therapist said Theo did not like change.....and even Theo can sense danger.

IMO the adoptive parents should never be so involved in the mother.

I was a travel agent for 30 years - never had a contract for cancellations except for those of the airline, tour company or crusie company.....etc. There was never a signed contract with this jerk.
