  1. Like a frightened turtle. I do the "worlds collide" a lot, and "you hafta see the baby!"
  2. For those of you who don't watch country music awards shows, Gwen Sebastian is listed as "featured" on Blake's latest single, and performed it with him on the recent ACM awards. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_7p_a_o8do Also, the Swon Brothers debuted at the Grand Old Opry this weekend. I don't think the Opry has posted the actual performance yet, but here's a behind-the-scenes video.
  3. Ooooh, Jennifer Nettles would be fun. I've got so much respect for Reba. Like MAD respect. But as awesome as she is, I think she would annoy me no end as a coach.
  4. Cleo, you didn't ask me, but I'm going to answer anyway. ;) I don't think they'll include Cary because they didn't include Cary. Not once did Alicia say, "I'll speak to Cary," even though he's her partner. Not once did Diane say, "go ahead and run this past Cary," even though she's been presented as his mentor. In the days that followed, Alicia never sought Cary out to discuss the idea. In fact, when she cut him off in the meeting with their client, and he mentioned it to her afterward, she deliberately avoided his not-so-subtle questioning. This even despite the fact that he was being very caring and protective of her throughout the episode. I pretty much assume this is inevitable.
  5. This is Illinois. We'll forgive anything, frankly. This. So much this. Alicia wouldn't have a firm to merge if not for Cary, and it really pissed me off that she didn't even consider him. I can get that she wouldn't think of him in that moment with Diane, but she deliberately kept it from him for the rest of the episode. She even made him look like a fool (in my opinion!) in front of their client, in the name of peacekeeping with LG, and then left him hanging as to why.
  6. I pretty much hate her, and I apologize, but I can't really offer any solid reasons why. But I'll try. I don't like the actress, and I think they're trying too hard to make her the anti-Chick. She can't wear a dress! Or walk in heels! She doesn't feel or even understand human emotions! She's practically a man! Since, you know, you can't be feminine and badass. I agree with aquarian1 that I would find her far more effective - and palatable - if she were used more like Zoe. A cooperative associate with a special set of skills that Reese and Finch call on when they need those particular skills. There's just too much of her for me. Plus, her presence is parallel in my mind with some of the other developments that I'm not overly excited about, namely less Reese (and Finch) and more emphasis on the sci-fi/serial aspects of the show.
  7. Thanks! I'm drunk with power. Mwahhahahaha!
  8. Absolutely! We encourage multiple topics here; it's one of the perks of having forums for every show. :) I'd just ask that you create a separate topic for each past season. It keeps the threads shorter and makes it easier for people to jump in and post.
  9. What have past Voice artists been up to? Post your updates here.
  10. I really enjoyed what I saw of Chris Martin, and could easily see him as a replacement for Adam. He may be a bit too reserved for the Battles, though. For a Blake fill-in, I submit Brad Paisley for consideration. He's funny, irreverent, and really knows his stuff. Plus, I'd love to see him rip a guitar solo on the Voice stage.
  11. Often better coaches than the coaches themselves; discuss them here.
  12. It doesn't surprise me. Sheldon was raised by a man who shot close enough to a raccoon to "make it crap itself". I would think someone like that would likely have taught his son that a man shaving something other than his face wasn't masculine. Sheldon rejects some of his upbringing, but he seems to cling somewhat to his parents' ideas in terms of conventional social mores. And that's four more sentences than I ever thought I'd type about a TV character's armpits! lol
  13. Honestly, I don't think I really miss Kalinda and Alicia's friendship, although I do think it's odd that they never interact. (I understand JM's opinion that they would never be friends again, but that doesn't preclude them ever having a conversation, does it? Up until a few months ago, they worked at the same firm. They both frequent the same places and interact with the same small group of people constantly, but they never bump into each other? That wouldn't happen.) What I do miss is Kalinda. The old Kalinda, who was awesome and was an actual character in her own right. It seems like they don't know where they want to go with her. Maybe that's deliberate, and this is all going somewhere? I hope so. Because right now it seems like she's just floating out there, until they need a piece of evidence to magically appear.
  14. Total agreement, although to be fair to April, in the Grey's world, it apparently does take massive scheduling, since Jackson and Jo both implied that they couldn't get it done themselves, either. Wasn't laundry also a bone of contention for Meredith and Derek at the beginning of the season, as well? When Baby Bailey wasn't sleeping? I have such a hard time with Jolex. I want to like them so much, because I want Alex to have happiness. But I just can't believe in them for some reason. I don't buy that they're really in love. To me, they've always given off a vibe of "I don't have time to get out and meet new people, and you're hot and available, so you'll do for now." Kind of the way I always saw Jackson and Stephanie, to be honest. So every time Jo starts nagging him or acting like his future plans affect her, I have a visceral reaction of, "how is this your business?"
  15. I unfortunately missed most of the episode, but that scene after Sheldon woke up with - gasp! - a geology book was GOLD. You could tell Johnny Galecki could barely control himself! Classic.
  16. Hey, look at that! Our doctors were being doctors! I really didn't understand the deal with the laundry. If you have a washer and dryer in your house, it doesn't really take any more time to do it yourself than it does to send it out, does it? I mean, I did my laundry tonight while I was watching Grey's. It's not like I was scrubbing it on a rock. Seriously, Arizona, I want to like you. I really, REALLY do. But your wife says "you're going to be mad at me," and your mind goes right to, "you cheated on me!" What!!?!?! If they want me to truly stop shipping Crowen, they need to stop giving them awesome scenes together. I love SO and KMK's chemistry. The interns were back to being annoying as hell tonight. When Stephanie made Shane switch, I was all "you go, girl!", but then it just went WAY too far, IMO. I was hoping Bailey and Webber would tell them to grow the fuck up.
  17. Sneak Peak #1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmWEUpOZBSg Sneak Peak #2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Zeev9qUZcc
  18. Hm, I'll admit I'm stumped! Simon Helberg is amazingly multi-talented. I think he's the unsung hero of the show. He did indeed play the "Song for Bernadette" live, and more impressively, it was recorded on the first take. eta - I loved his "human beat box".
  19. Me, too! Plus "Peter Gunn", which I didn't realize was a TV theme until I read this topic. I love both of those, plus the L&O theme already mentioned. I wasn't a big fan of the actual show, but I adored the theme for Providence, which was a cover of the Beatles song, "In My Life".
  20. I haven't heard anything, but you never know. Just ask The Good Wife fans.I would guess Alex is going to get involved with the bubble boy case, and have a revelation that saving lives is more important than money.
  21. How small, I wonder? Child-size? Maybe a first Communion dress for Sybbie? Assuming they did the white dress and veil in that time period on that side of The Pond. How big is the time jump this season?
  22. I love, love, love me some Cary. If there's one good think to come out of Will's death, hopefully it is more screentime and better storylines for Cary. More stuff like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-eWwxR8hmc (And please allow me to gush for a moment about the embedded YouTube feature!)
  23. Sure, I can see that. But I still have a really hard time believing that it wouldn't be a HUGE story. Chicago has a lot of violent crime to be sure, but they're not so inured to it that a courthouse shooting wouldn't be breaking news. There aren't that many courthouses in Cook County. And while it's possible that these reporters cover politics and not crime, reporters are inherently news junkies (and gossips!) I used to work in TV news, and even the sports guys would have heard about this story, if it happened in my city. Thinking about it, the fact that the fatalities wouldn't have been identified yet should only increase the likelihood that the reporters would ask Peter about it. After all, it happened in a courtroom. In a courthouse his wife and her associates are known to frequent. Even if these are political reporters, their assignment desk, knowing they were going to be at an event with the governor, would have been calling/texting/tweeting/sending up smoke signals at them to get a statement from the governor about the shooting. News directors are more insensitive than Diane and her client added together. They wouldn't let that opportunity pass. I guess I'll just have to tell myself that the reporters were already at the event when the shooting happened, and had been told to turn off their phones. And they actually did it. I like your theory about the tie-in to Tony Scott's death. That had not occurred to me, but it does seem likely.
