  1. You just gave me inspiration for P lol! Until then... K is for Kathy Bowman.
  2. I was just thinking "wow, a new Roseanne tomorrow!". Had to wait 20 years for this so 7 days is nothing lol.
  3. Yep. I think it's because Roseanne (original series) was about real people. Shows like Full House and Will and Grace are more escapist shows. Roseanne is more gritty and real AND it was the funniest show on tv. Wasn't corny funny like Full House or "situationally" funny like Will and Grace. It had great writing and jokes delievered with impeccable timing.
  4. Roseanne has been renewed for season 11 according to my phone lol.
  5. No personal politics in this post... I watch cable news from the minute I get home till the time I go to bed and EVERY hourly segment practically has had a part where they talk about how popular Roseanne is and how it's a sign to Hollywood that it's all the Trump voters wanting to watch something that speaks to them. They think it's all some big overarching sign that there's this whole sub culture that is dying for Trump friendly stuff like Roseanne. I really had to come here and say that's complete horse poop. People are nostalgic for the original Roseanne and people wanted to check in and see what they've been up to for the past 20 years. Has nothing to do with who people voted for or their political belief. The proof is that the second episode had 0 politics.
  6. I am nostalgic for the days when it was just a dozen or so committed fans on here. I'm dying to read their thoughts on the new series but am finding it extremely difficult with the overwhelming number of posts in the thread for the first 2 eps.
  7. One thing I REALLY missed were the "establishing shots" of the exterior of the house like they were in the original. The still photos that crossfaded with the harmonica in the background They had them in the new show but were a completely different style. Really close up and weird angles and no crossfades. Would have been a small touch that would have helped capture the feel of the original.
  8. Would like to see the drop off numbers for the second half hour.
  9. Too many posts here to read! Wow. Since people are talking about their dislikes, I will mention mine. Jackie says to Becky "since your husband died". I thought that was a really cold way to say it. Should have been "since you lost Mark" or something. I know they said husband so as to let new viewers know and to avoid confusion with the new Mark but still... Also, I thought there were far too few references to the original series. We are 2 episodes in and still don't know for certain what Dan and Roseanne do for jobs or what happened to the Lunchbox etc. In the second ep Becky drops by around the time the kids go to school. She says she is on her way to work... That Mexican restaurant is open at 830?
  10. It was pretty good I have to say. Laughed out loud a few times. First episode was much stronger than the second. You could tell the production designers had a lot of trouble getting the size of the kitchen cabinets right. They looked huge in some shots. When Jackie first appeared I was disappointed it was Whacky Jackie. After she admits she voted for Stein and talks about how much control Roseanne had over her life, it was like a time warp to original Jackie! Hope they kept it this way. DJ is crazy awkward and by that I mean Michael Fishman is crazy awkward. Him talking to Jackie (which were his only lines I think) it was sooooo cringeworthy. I liked how Roseanne was wearing the same leopard print collared jacket that she had in season 9. Also, getting the teacher from the pilot was cool too.
  11. Q is for Quonset hut which Dan could have built with the gift Roseanne bought him.
  12. Let's start this again for Revival Day! I'm not going to go back and read all previous answers, so repeats are ok. Try to use more obscure choices though! A is for Angela, Crystal's third child.
  13. Sara Gilbert is responsible for getting the revival going so I don't think they'd have her living in Chicago and pre tape a few telephone scenes like they did with Lecy in season 5. You are right, they just need her at home so the show can exist lol.
  14. The Tildens probably would have been cast differently or not at all (maybe the Bowmans would have remained), David wouldn't have moved in, Mark would have probably gotten in to more trouble creating conflict between Becky and Roseanne... Becky would have gone to community college and stayed at home. Darlene would still go to college and the later seasons would probably be much like they are with a focus on Jackie and Fred.
  15. It's Roseanne and not Star Trek so I will let a lot slide. Especially if it means ignoring the 9th season and Jerry and Andy. Would be nice if they had contacted some of the real fans of the show to get their opinions on things. That Producer Whitney Cummings or whatever her name is really annoying. She talks about how she loved the original show and how important it was to recreate the set and blah blah blah. Seems as phoney as all her plastic surgery. Their idea of canon is just replicating the set. Watching some footage I noticed that lamp with the pleated shade by the front door isnt quite the same as the original. It makes it appear that the Conners got rid of the original at some point and replaced it with one that looked mostly similiar. When, in reality, it would have made more sense that they didn't have a lamp for 30 years and they just replaced it with a new and more modern one. I expected them to update the decor as real people would.
  16. Hmm Crystal dressed as a Playboy bunny?
  17. When you mentioned the curly hair it made me think of that episode in season 4 where Barry asks her to the dance and she ends up bailing after Roseanne makes her try on all the dresses. There is a scene where Dan is watching basketball and Darlene enters with a bowl of popcorn I think. She is wearing a baseball style shirt, those jeans with the patches on them and I assume a pair of Doc Martens. Her hair is really curly and poofed out. To me that is the exact moment Darlene ceased being a "girl" and transformed into a young woman.
  18. In season 2 though she was still normal Jackie. But I feel her underlying character was as a flake. Flake meaning someone who can't commit to anything long term. Season 1 I don't think she was originally concieved of as a flake though. I think she was originally supposed to be the immature younger mooch sister who constantly hung around Roseannes house and pestered Dan. The flake part developed more in season 2 but not quite fully. There was that 2 parter where she was really spaced out about Gary and Roseanne was tired of having to take care of her. The flake part really came out in season 3 with all the various jobs. Funny how season 2 was Roseanne bouncing around from job to job then season 3 was Jackie's turn.
  19. I watched that video I posted again and see Roseanne has a chronic knee injury. Would have been funnier if they revived her bad back story. They could have said as she got older her "perky" boobs sagged so much it put strain on her back again or something.
  20. Def was stupid for Jackie to quit the police force but it was ultimately good for the character and the series. Jackie was a flake. If she had been a cop for the next 7 seasons, she would have been a completely different character. Instead of us calling her Gilligan, we'd be calling her Barney Fife lol.
  21. X is for the XXX movie Romancing the Bone. (P could have been the prison Dan quit the City to drywall)
  22. It could be quickly explained that Andy moved away with Fred because of Jackie's odd behavior and he is never mentioned again. In that one trailer where Jackie says "call me Aunt, it's the only title I have". Maybe Andy no longer calls her mom because they had a falling out.
