  1. First off, bite me TJ with that finger wagging he gave Team US for daring to put Johnny in. Where was that when they threw in Wes who was also a strong player? Where was that when Johnny was obviously throwing challenges last week? I liked that Cara pointed out that she's been in more finales lately than he has. So is he really their best player or the only player that can win for them? I think the reason why TJ was right there watching each thing is because no one was paying attention during the Laurel/Ninja elimination. I don't like Paulie because he's got the issues and I'm not a fan of Theo strutting around like he's the leader of Team UK and gets to decide who is good enough to run a final because he did it once but I've hated Johnny longer and more so that was awesome!! Suck it. You can't open things up like voting in your own team members or throwing a challenge and think you can still play the "we're a team card" when it's a chance your ass is on the line. Paulie setting up Johnny for that fall was like Kam type game playing. Nicely done. Jordan is trying so hard to be Johnny and it's so sad. Does Josh ever listen to himself when he talks? First he's all about he's not being manipulated, everyone is being manipulated but then he goes around basically trying to convince Cara to do what Johnny wants. Again, I liked that Cara threw it back in his face that he voted in Wes because he was so hurt by Wes based on one challenge but now Cara had to not be emotional and think of the team? Whatever. I love how messy both the teams are. It's great.
  2. Jordan's rivalry with Johnny was all about him wanting to be the new Johnny.
  3. So Laurel's the devil right? Damn I so happy how that turned out. All the gross gloating and showboating and she missed the hole and lost after all. Ha ha! Suck it, you looney tunes. She looked unhinged during her last interview. God, she has become as bad as Johnny and it's just awful. She deserved that lost after all that. I hated that I agreed with Ashley for quitting the challenge when Johnny was obviously sabotaging her. Why bother trying to win or even finish when your own team is trying to make you lose? Then she went back to being the Ashley I can't stand when she fell in line with Laurel to save her ass. Georgia really has no taste. She thinks Laurel lights up a room, is willing to to talk to Josh at all, and is gaga over Bear. Girl, get it together. If I was Ninja I would have joined the UK team, The US team cannot be trusted, not while people like Johnny are still there pulling strings. I loved Kam's fuck you attitude to Laurel. It was rich that Laurel and Johnny were all "oh you evil people came in with your own alliances before the show even started so we had to come for you." Like no one else comes with alliances already made. They've known each other for years. Alliances will happen. Johnny is desperate to regain control of the show as the King of the Challenge because Sarah's curse has been kicking his ass for years now. I don't think it's going to work. Too many newbies with their own ways who actually don't need him. I think that's why he has such an issue with Wes. One, having this "epic" feud with Wes is one way to make sure he's always invited back for that storyline (esp since Team Young Buck fizzled as a nemesis). And two, Wes is obvious about not really needing this, This is just for fun for him. With Johnny it feels like he really needs this. This is his life. Not his vacation.
  4. The only person I remember being upset about it was Cara but there might have been someone else. It was overshadowed in my mind by Johnny's stupid gloating. Yes, get rid of your strongest person early that could help your team win over whittling down the Brits.
  5. Both teams are messy as hell. Team UK could have won without the cheating because they were going to win based on time alone. I still don't understand why Idris, Rogan and even Bear were up as a choice for elimination when Theo was the one who cheated first. It doesn't make any sense. Rogan and Joss could have the numbers on their side but they are slowly going to let Theo and to a lesser extent, Bear run that whole team in the end. Fuck Josh being an overly emotional child. "Oh I will put in their strongest player. Until you want me to put in Theo because I don't want him to be mad at me." What a punk. Fuck Laurel for basically deciding to protect her Challenge hook up so early in the game. Pretty sure she has mocked Cara Maria for doing the same thing with Kyle and Paulie. Nany defending Bear had me rolling my eyes because she also had a flirtation with him last season. What is with Bear and the women on this show? I had to laugh when Laurel was complaining to Johnny about Wes sneaking around as she was sneaking around. I don't get how Wes was the person Josh was the most hurt by when all of them in that room was mocking the shit out him. I hope Josh feels like a big man for now cause he already had a target on his back for his childish outbursts and now that he's done Laurel and Johnny's dirty work for them, they won't have his back. And anyone on Team US who isn't with him will be ready to throw him in the next elimination should regardless of who won. I hope team UK wins because the US doesn't deserve it with Laurel, Josh, and Johnny still there. Damn I felt bad for Wes.
  6. That wasn't Laurel. I don't think she was in that group. I do remember her being a bitch to him a few challenges after that when they were all around a hot tub, I believe.
  7. OMG am I already sick of Johnny Jr, I mean Jordan. I guess he thought he was doing this huge thing by revealing that Wes was making deals with Team UK. Like none of the rest isn't also making deals behind the teams? Alliances always happening. This is all Johnny trying to get everyone to focus on Wes since going by all the other seasons he's been eliminated early, no one is actually scared of him anymore or needs him to get them to the finale. I can't wait for the US team to lose a challenge because the shit will hit the fan. They are all going to lose their minds, especially if it's a guy's elimination. Poor Zahida having to leave because of the death of her grandmother but I wonder why Faith left. Did they threaten her because she woke up the house after the house kept her up? I didn't see anything wrong with Kam stepping up to be the leader when none of them were stepping up. And at least it kept it from being three guys deciding a girl's fate. I wouldn't trust the US guys to not throw in one of their own girls that they deemed useless. I'm glad Georgia went in because it was bold in the wrong way to just tell Big T she was going in and that Georgia was going to protect her rookie best friend all the way until the end. Who the hell are you, Georgia??
  8. Poor baby Sean, he was just too sweet for this show. It's good that he was eliminated early because they would have destroyed him. I was like Laurel, how did he win a game that was based on making social connections and then come on here and just did nothing to bond with the group? You know, I was torn about CT. I felt bad that Team USA didn't pick him but in all honesty I probably would have picked Turbo too. I like CT more (Turbo turned me off by the end of the last challenge) but Turbo did win the last challenge and CT looks like he ate 3 CTs. BTW I don't know what Josh is thinking he's doing but dude, don't poke the CT bear. He asked you to leave. Just leave. Why argue about it? Then again that's the Challenge. Why do the rational easy thing when you can argue about stupid shit? Johnny: Wes made it to the last finale and I've been eliminated early that last couple of times and I'm losing my influence over the group as more newbies come in so you should listen to me and not play Wes's game. Jordan: Ok I'll play your game then! Ugh, Jordan don't be Johnny Jr. I thought Cara and Paulie were over? Rogan is a stripper? I am here for this. Team UK has a lot of good looking guys. Hey, Idris! God yes! She is the luckiest person on that show. I want her gone with Bear to follow right after.
  9. Me too. I thought it was interesting that the majority of the deaths that happened early was the help and that the family lasted until almost the end. The only person she really hands on killed was the mother right? I can't remember how the butler died. I was at first disappointed that the groom turned in the end but thinking about it, it was much more satisfying that way. It would have been too easy for him to still be trying to save her and having to die tragically in the end. They pretty much told us that he would go along with it when he was crying with his mother as he confessed to liking the animal sacrifice stuff.
  10. Yeah, I thought he was going to be in the bathroom waiting for Virginia because I thought they were still dating. By the way, good for Virginia for not taking Dean back.
  11. I know why she didn't go but I would have left Dean behind and went with Roller if I was Desna. And then she wouldn't have to shoot (kill?) that driver and have that crazy jail break scene. So beyond over "Quiet" Ann. Desna was wrong to promise Ann's brother to the Triad but Ann was crazy for acting like Desna was the one who pulled her brother in. She was the one who gossiped to him about the governor and he used that information in a debate which of course led to the target on Ann's back that lead to Arlene's death. So...shut up Ann. She's always a part of everything until she gets a chance to throw it all in Desna's face.
  12. Exactly! Even if Joe is the one who told the Professor what Mac and Melba were doing, the only reason Arlene was at the casino was because she was there trying to save Big Mouth Ann's ass. The more Ann talks, the less I like her. Every season when things are going there worst, that's when Ann wants to pipe up and blame Desna for everything as if Desna held a gun to her head and forced her into it. She's fine with going along for the ride until things get out of hand then it's all, "I knew it was wrong!" Whatevs. I wish I could be happy Dean has come around to knowing that Mac and Melba were bad and that the whole mahjong thing was about dealing with his guilt. But he had to wait until one was the dead and the other one was laughing in his face about taking his money. I stopped caring about Dean a lot this season.
  13. The best part of the episode was the group robbing the racist, well until Mac got killed. But even that was ok cause I'm over Mac and Melba. I'm also over Dean and Not So Quiet Ann. Can we just have Desna and the rest getting into wacky hijinks and dump those two?
  14. Well I did not see Arlene's death coming. Shocked the hell out of me. Things have gotten serious but in an unfunny way, it reminded me of Juanda's death. I get why Dean wants to blame Desna for everything but honestly, shut up Ann. For someone who is usually so savvy the fact that she would tell her brother this huge secret makes no sense. Bryce's book being adopted by a bunch of racists was funny. The idea of a Jenn's baby daddy triangle with her and Virginia is not.
  15. I'm starting to lose interest in this season. Mac and Melba are annoying and I really don't care about Dean playing Mahjong. Things feel like they are just dragging out for no real reason.
  16. I can't believe it took me until this episode to realize Lyta had been brainwashed. I just thought it was weird she was so gung-ho about Zod's plans.
  17. He's good friends with Jon Favreau which is how he ended up in the first Iron Man movie.
  18. I need to see this again because thanks to transportation issues I missed the first ten minutes but I was still able to jump into the movie at the point where I started. I liked it a lot. I think the first one was better because it was a bit more straightforward and this one kind of wanders around a bit in the middle. But it was still fun and damn that Tom Holland is super charming. Jake G did a great job as well. It was a great wrap up of the end of Phase 3 and I can't wait for Phase 4. My only quibble and it is an unpopular one, but I hope the next movie has less of an Iron Man specter hanging over it. I know that he was Peter's mentor in the MCU but I'm hoping that since this is the end of phase 3 we can kind of move on a little bit. Stick around for both post credit scenes. They were so good! The first one had me in shock and the second made me giggle. Spoilers for the 2nd credit scene
  19. I love Papi and he just broke my heart with that speech to Angel. I'm so glad they are doing more with him this season. He was barely there last season. This season he's been shining. As soon as they started talking about getting rid of the dead body I knew what they were going to do. So crazy.
  20. Yup. I loved her freak out and flipping the table for the drama of it all even if the acting is a little eh. I'm glad the show is back but I can't stop worrying about them all. Last season ended on a high note that I'm scared that they will then flip it around and this season will be very sad. I agree. It's not until really now that everything is happening that Blanca thinks is right about the corner. I would like to see another time jump so that they can see the release of Supermodel though.
  21. That never makes any sense because Hermione/Ron have been telegraphed in the books since the first book. How did they miss that?
  22. I will never not be angry at how bad that final fight between Harry and Voldemort was in the movies. I was dying to see them facing off in the great hall before everyone with Harry calling "Tom" the same way Dumbledore did, taking away the fear of his name and for everyone to see him die like a regular person. Instead it was that weird zooming flying about thing outside where no one sees him die (so how did they all know to just stop fighting??) and he dissolved liked a vampire in an old episode of Buffy. I will always be annoyed at Steve Kloves's "adaptations" of the books for the movies. I think the one HP movie I liked the best was Order because he didn't do the screenplay for that one. If I read the book before the movie or series I will always prefer the book because the movies/series can never put everything I love in it. Though movies can improve on some things (I read the Godfather after I saw the movie and was so happy the chapters about the vagina surgeries were completely cut). One movie adaptation I did end up loving as much as I loved the book was Interview With A Vampire. I'm ignoring Queen of the Damned, they fucked that one up completely. Yay for this thread because I was looking for some place to complain about the differences between A Discovery of Witches the books vs the show.
  23. Saw it tonight. I really enjoyed it. I wish I was at a sing-a-long because I really wanted to, well, sing along. I like the way they used the songs throughout the movie but Taron has got to get a Golden Globe nom for this.
  24. I finally finished the show. I'm another book reader who was disappointed in the show overall. It felt like they were speeding up some things while also stretching a lot of things out. So in the last episode they had to cram in a bunch of stuff since they wanted to end the first season with the first book. At first I didn't like the casting of Matthew because in my head he always seemed bigger physically. Like a French Jason Momoa or something. But he grew on me. Never came around to the castings of Ysabeau (too old!) or Baldwin (not sure what I expected but not that). I too wish they'd done a better job of describing the daemons. They don't get a lot attention in the book because they don't have very flashy obvious powers like the vampires or the witches but you at least understand what they are about. If I hadn't read the books I wouldn't know who or what was a daemon on the show. They seem like stand-ins for regular humans. I didn't mind seeing what others were doing when Matthew or Diana aren't around since the first book is basically just their POVs. However too much Satu, imo, and Gillian becoming a much more sympathetic character was a little eh for me. Is there a book thread where we can talk about the changes without having to use spoilers and bother the non-book viewers?
  25. I'm happy we didn't have to wait for the reunion to see who won so now I can completely skip that.
