  1. I hadn't really watched it, but saw the marathon. It's weird, and now there's this new person Lauren? I guess between his hands-on-ness at his museum and being a producer on DF, he may be too busy. Or, now he's just refusing to travel at all.
  2. They should do an 80s theme night, with Deborah Gibson, Tiffany, and Rick Springfield. I'd like to see Leif Garrett, actually. Maybe David Lee Roth.
  3. Well, if anyone was in any doubt, "our album could be Pet Sounds II" clinched that it was Wilson Phillips. Carnie can be annoying, but they are an amazing singing trio, and hopefully this is the start of their comeback. I was hoping for a tie though. Amber Riley is a worthy winner and earned the crown completely, and overall this was a very good season. I liked the theme nights, I liked the variety of contestants (likely only possible because this format makes it easier for one-and-done contracts,) and there were no polarizing figures like Palin or Giuliani. I wonder how many more kids Nick will have before the next season?
  4. I missed the end, so I'll have to catch it on demand. There are no reruns scheduled right now. Of course, that doesn't really bode well for another season, but it is what it is.
  5. New season starts this week. Chelsea has on her IG some clips of her making surprise calls to fans to remind them. It's really cute.
  6. I'm always torn between feeling so bad for Dennis, and being so irritated with him. He seems to know he's got issues, but he doesn't seem to be getting help for them. If he is getting help, it's not working and he should try something different. Whatever it is, him going on shows like this is not a good idea, for him or anyone else.
  7. I agree -and I hope this format is the one that sticks (with maybe a minor tweak or two.)
  8. Loved it. Loved seeing Joel, as always. Loved seeing Leslie's light shine one more time. Loved Shiela E. Loved both Georges. If you haven't seen Better Late Than Never, find it on streaming and watch it. And if you have a hard time getting started in the morning, get thee to Pandora and choose "Get Off Your Ass and Jam" to be your wake up station. I start my days with George Clinton, so this was a treat.
  9. I feel bad for Dennis, because he clearly needs a massive amount of intense long-term help. I also feel bad for everyone else who has to deal with him. Really not ideal for him to be in situations like this.
  10. Man, I love me some Muppets. I want Muppets to follow me around everywhere, popping up randomly and singing "m'nah m'nah, puh too puh toopy." That said, I had no idea Kat Graham could sing. I too would have liked Muppet songs, especially from Muppet Christmas Carol. But I'll take whatever Muppets I can get. Can Miss Piggy replace Jenny please?
  11. Oh for sure. But he might not have had a chance to get to that place if everyone was there from the start to negotiate the rooms. He got an inch and he took a mile. If he came on this show trying to improve how people think of him, so far he's failing.
  12. I mean, unless there was some non-controllable reason for Stormy to get there so late (like travel issues or something,) it was horrible of the producers to do that to her. I get that she's the "scandalous" houseguest, but she still could have arrived last, on the same day but hours after the others had started bonding, but while it was still possible for the rooms situation to change without too much bother. I should check who produces this version, it seems different in some ways from the previous one.
  13. Yeah, Entanglement August is something else. He may surprise me later, but he annoys me now. I guess that's why I like shows like this and Celebrity Big Brother - you're always surprised by someone, either good or bad. I remember years ago when a new season of the previous incarnation of this was unofficially announced, and the cast included Claudia Jordan, poker player Phil Helmuth, and Pete Steele of Type O Negative. I still don't know if that was legit or not, but it never happened and there was never anything official. I'd like a dvd of all the seasons though, and in an ideal world, either a cable or streaming channel dedicated entirely to VH1 Celebreality, of which this was the seed that sprouted it all.
  14. I was super excited for this to come back, but I was hoping for a weekend marathon of all the seasons beforehand. Strike one. Why weren't they in the original house, and why in Mexico? Strike two. Why did Stormy come in so late - did they say? If there wasn't a good reason, strike three. Rodman - another three strikes. That's two outs so far. Two hours was too much, but on the whole I like Manny, Frankie, Kim, Tamar and Stormy. Don't know anything about CJ, but she seems okay. I knew Bridgette from Girls Next Door was a paranormal investigator, but I had no idea Stormy was too. Anyway, overall I'm happy it's back. It's good mindless entertainment.
  15. Ken is not a terrible singer though. He was a contestant on the Korean version of this show, and he wasn't terrible. Is he Pavarotti? Of course not, but he's better than Mickey Rourke! In case you haven't noticed, I love all things Ken Jeong. I agree RoboGirl may be eliminated next week, but it would need to be someone blowing the roof off the joint to do it, because she's very good. It may be a man winning next time.
  16. So happy I finally got to see it! I feel pretty sure the people they chose for this group were based on who could handle ALW. Though I would have had Mermaid go through, the outcome was totally acceptable. I actually liked this performance of I Will Survive better than the original. More weight behind it and more hope and willpower than anger this time. Nicole really has a beautiful voice, and I absolutely can't wait for Muppet Night. I hope frickin' baseball is done by then. I mean, by now everyone knows how long these sports events take, and it's always - ALWAYS - longer than the time that's been allotted by networks. Schedule them for the longest possible time, and fill in whatever is left once the game finishes with their talking heads, interviews, checking in on other games, whatever. Do better, networks.
  17. Wait, they're not just a delayed airing of the D+ shows, they're actually new? Holy crap, never thought I'd see the day. Me, I've gotten bundles or free T-Mobile subscriptions to Netflix, AppleTV+, Hulu/Disney+, Paramount+ which I will shortly upgrade with the Showtime bundle, a Starz 10 month deal, and free services Tubi, PlutoTV and the free version of Peacock. I will wait and see if the HBOMax/Disc+ merger offers a good bundle deal before deciding if I will reward their terrible behavior of hoarding previously-aired shows behind a paywall. Now I just need a smart tv and wifi....
  18. I tuned in because I love Jerry and Rebecca. I tuned out because I don't watch any of the Bachelor (or Bachelor-type) shows and I had no idea what was happening or why. Who greenlit this?
  19. I long ago gave up on the notion that this is any kind of legit competition, and started judging it solely on how it entertained me. It's gotten more obvious each season that the "results" are decided ahead of time, based on performer schedule and availability. This format just leans into that. This episode entertained me greatly, though I would have loved the Good Times, Three's Company, Cheers, and Facts of Life songs as well. Maybe if they do this theme next season I'll get my wish.
  20. This was perfect, I loved the open, I loved the costumes, I loved Jenny with dark hair, I loved that Nicole redeemed herself from that mess last week. I loved the songs - I knew all of them, and theme songs are designed to be catchy, memorable and easy to sing along with. I loved that it sort of leveled the playing field among the contestants - even the ones who aren't singers had the chance to do well. Loved seeing the Brady Boys, I ignore Tori Spelling always so I pretend she was someone else, as a matter of habit. Even the costumes seemed more like previous seasons than basic ones like Hedgehog. This may be my favorite episode of the whole series so far.
  21. Since these airing now seem to be the ones previously exclusive to D+, I think it's clear they got a memo to go completely OTT, and did so gleefully. I love how, when a witness describes feeling or going through something, later in the show Zak will feel or go through the exact same thing, time 100. Dude needs to seriously chill.
  22. I think this format might be the magic formula. It virtually guarantees an actual talented performer makes it to the end, I don't have to try to keep up with 5 to 8 people each show, but there's still room for fun stuff like Blue Man Group. I love Blue Man Group. I liked Donny joining the panel, not just performing. I even liked Nick's OTT suit. And I liked how two of the habitual guesses were on this show, but no one got them. Now, the costumes don't seem to be as complicated or jaw-dropping, and I have no idea why Nicole chose that hair, but overall, another win. More like this, please!
  23. That's the downside of these huge marathons leading up to a new episode - it's too easy to just assume, especially after several days of it, that the new episode is an old one, especially since they take old things, edit them slightly or combine two eps, and call it a new one. I think GA used to be on Friday or Saturday at one point. The preview special was annoying, and I love me some Ghost Brothers.
  24. I am absolutely, utterly, completely jealous. I saw NIN years ago and they were awesome. I would love to see Rob Zombie, Slipknot, Alice Cooper, yes even KISS on their - what is it now - 48th Farewell Tour. Have a great time!
  25. I thought I'd hate it. But I loved it. Much less BS, less chance of a charismatic non-singer making it to the end - maybe they stumbled onto the magic formula. I almost didn't watch because last season was kind of a mess. I knew it was Shatner as soon as he opened his mouth, and I love Eric Idle (and all the Pythons,) and I loved that he sang "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life." I guess getting the band back for the reveal would have been too much. They were a nice touch though. And Ken liked my tweet about it!
