  1. I remembered in time to set the DVR but so far while I’m enjoying your conversation here, like someone said (I’m paraphrasing), “I could just go to a family dinner and hear this kind of screaming.” At least at family dinner I get some really good food. Thank y’all again for taking this one for the ninja team!!!!
  2. I recall stove pipe - and / or palazzo - pants from the ‘70s. I had a small waist then & loved ‘em. I’ve also noticed D’s vintage look, but I like it on her. For whatever reason she wears ‘em, they do look good on her.
  3. Thank you so much. Any time I can muster up a real laugh during Duggar time, it’s a very good thing.
  4. My mind is running in a similarly dangerous direction. Jinger is under no obligation to continue to live life in front of millions. If Jeremy actually wants to be a parish pastor or a teacher — and not a mega church maven with big tv and SM presence — then they could step off the grimy Duggar hamster wheel of self-promotion and, y'know, live life quietly. Pessimistically, I think Jeremy wants to be a stah in popular evangelicalism and Jinger’s too conditioned to saying, “your will be done, lord & master” and they’re going to continue on their current path.
  5. Just a comment: I’ve been asked NOT to flush unwanted meds down the toilet, but to trash them (after making them unconsumable - mixing into cat litter or something). Reason why: meds that go into the sewer eventually can reappear in potable water. The water purification systems can’t get rid of every thing that’s in the water. This was in the wake (pardon the expression) of finding out that people who’d never taken certain psychotropic drugs had them in their systems. According to the sleuths who followed up, there are so many folks taking prescribed psychotropics that the residues are now in the water. Don’t know if it’s all urban legends and too lazy to look at Snopes. But I throw expired OTC tabs in the trash. Thus far, thank heaven, I haven’t had narcotics to deal with.
  6. @ryebread, I’m not the OP but I’ve been very well pleased with Dansko footwear for support. The ones I have are Mary Janes, though. For an Oxford, tie-up style more similar to a sneaker style, I’ve been well pleased with Keens. Pricey but worth it.
  7. Didn’t know all that about Rapaport & had no real opinion on him when I wrote it — it just seemed significant that yet another celebrity Housewives “super fan” toed the anti-Carole line. That said, the one time I’ve seen him on tv other than WWHL, he basically played the same guy he is on there, on The Big Bang Theory. And anybody who harasses others doesn’t merit my admiration — but then he never has had it. It could’ve been any other celeb “super fan” & I’d have had the same Q. But I’m repeating myself. Thank you for the info, also!
  8. Without her conflict with a Bethenny, she’s irrelevant. Is that it? The thought just occurred to me; she’s got nothing else of substance to write about, just friends & get-togethers like the rest of us.
  9. To all who served, whether or not they faced danger during that time, Thank You. You were *willing to put yourself out there if called — much more than I would ever have the courage to do. Back to the grimy. Is this the place to remark in Michael Rapaport’s WWHL criticisms of Carole? I have no problem with what he said, I just was impressed again with how the guests seem all to be in the anti- camp. Seems to me they are staying on script. S. Andy’s look is always halfway between “interested in what they have to say” and “checking carefully that they’re saying it right.” If this is an elaborate ruse, it’s a testament to how solid Andy & Carole’s long friendship is.
  10. Or in the case of MEEchelle and her daughters, “good for the goose but too good for the goslings.” Shameful.
  11. When I read that Tamara Tattles stopped recapping because of the poo theme, I set the speakers to mute and held the FF button down for all I was worth — til I got to the remodeled homes. Bethenny’s looks like her - stark and hard-edged. Ramona's? Wear sunglasses if you haven’t viewed yet. I’m a minimalist but that kitchen made me dizzy, with its lack of a focal point. I will also wear sunglasses for SparkleSequinFest next week! Thank you all again for your discussions. This board is 10,000 times more entertaining than the show.
  12. “...if Roman Grant were a big weenie...” LOVE IT!! You've made my day. Things start to go south, I’ll say, “if Roman Grant were a big weenie...” and I KNOW I will grin, if not outright laugh! Thankyou.
  13. Waving as a fellow traveler. Jessa hit the hate button for me only slightly before Jill did. It’s very peaceful to know to ignore them both.
  14. How so? I’m really intrigued by this particular widow/divorcée mishigas abd woukd love to hear your thoughts. She did say that she was Lynch until she married Medley. I never took a husband’s name professionally so this is very interesting and unfamiliar to me. And I watched her on WWHL — if those knuckles had gotten any whiter, they’d have needed to use a filter to stop the glare! JMHO of course.
  15. “Enough f. u. money to walk away”——speaking only for myself, you have just described my dream!
  16. Lu poo??? I may have quit the show, but danggit I can’t quit you-all and I don’t want to!!! Snark on, sisters! I’ll be here to enjoy it!
  17. Wasn’t Josiah only 18 when he was paired with .. the one that didn’t “take?” Marjorie, that’s her name!
  18. Maid service = housekeeping = janitorial work and yeah, sometimes we end up cleaning some lousy stuff. What bothers me is reports of Lu smirking about leaving feces in the bedding as a surprise for the maid. Indeed, as a former LPN she knows it happens but apparently she’s gone from seeing it as a very necessary - if humble - part of honest work ... to sneering about the fact that somebody else now cleans up after *her.* (*) Until I read about this, I didn’t mind Lu. Now, I care for nothing about her. I do believe I’m officially over this show! As others have said, it’s devolved to arguments, fights and spitefulness. And those things, among several very unlikeable individuals. Nothing, literally, to *see* here. (*) Nurse Lu also has forgotten that bodily fluid stains often accompany critical illness. Her years of wealth and privilege, and her brief bout of loose bowels, they’ve all lulled her into thinking that illness and want will never cross her path again, and compassion seems far from her mind. Time will tell.
  19. I am kinda adjacent to the scene of the tragedy and I didn’t set my DVR for this episode for just that reason. Now that you-all are describing Numbers 1 & 2 as subplots to the storyline, I’m leaving the thing un-recorded for sure. And once again, I thank you from the very bottom of my tar-stained heart.
  20. That’s true, *and* if a person has the time and money, they can check back in for a refresher. However, the professionals I’ve known in that area of mental health would like to see people recovering in the outside world, as @geauxaway said. To remain dry/ clean in a monitored facility is one thing; to do it in the world-out-there is quite another. I am betting Lu used it as a hideout when the lawsuit happened close to the reunion taping.
  21. I’d try to write this in a Southern drawl but I’d just insult the true Southerners here and annoy everybody else. Anyhoo, imagine my shock when I realized that Princess Carole gets her earring inspiration from precious li’l Mallorie Rasberry Of HGTV’s Home Town. All fashion starts in Jones Co., MS Because yea, I’m sure that’s the way it happened. Mallorie wore ‘em first. And better, IMHO!
  22. I’ll sure try! Some folks who have sufficient money to pay their bills choose not to. A significant number of these apparently think they should be exempt. They argue with the “shutoff people” who arrive to disconnect power lines with such bon mots as, “Do you know who I am?!” and “Give me your name! I’m having dinner with [president of the utility company] and you’ll be in trouble.” Makes no sense to me, but then less & less of the world does, the longer I live.
