  1. (I don't know how to do quotes separately, I am sorry) - There's consanguaneous incest which is always illegal, even if it's consensual. Some places allow first cousins to marry, blah blah blah. But there's also some other type of incest (I forget what it's called) that applies to step-siblings, which is what Jackson and Maggie are. Maybe there's some exceptions, like something such as "you have to have lived in the same house for so many years." or whatever. Who knows! But anyways, getting to the point, I don't think that's the 'whiff' even though there are some jurisdictions that will consider Jaggie incest. The whiff is Jackson referring to Maggie as his sister, the guys arguing what defines a sister, and then Jackson saying something about sleeping with Maggie after saying she was his sister? The guys are all repulsed; at least Alex, Ben, and Owen are. But they probably had that normal sibling dynamic with Amber, what's her name now?, and Megan. Still, it was an odd thing to say. Holy fucking paragraph. - I have to point out that Amelia gets pretty nasty when she is drunk, not just Webber. (If I could figure out how to insert a horizontal line here I would) This episode felt very disjointed. As others in here have already said, I didn't feel the guys bonding on the boat. I remember that one episode when Derek was working on the Dream House. He, Mark, and some other of the older men hung out, drank beer, and stuff. They really had fun, plus we had already been introduced to Mark/Derek's friendship. Now that was true bromance, I won't deny there were times I secretly shipped them together. But the guys hanging out on the boat? That was weird. And who the hell looked after their patients all day? Who was the lead doctor in their surgeries? I'm with April, they got to take a sick day to get (I'm assuming it was obvious to her) drunk? How lame. How exactly did that girl get the whole gun up her vagina? I can see perhaps the barrel, but the handle as well? Damn. She could have perforated organs in getting it up there. I wonder if she'll ever be able to carry babies, wouldn't be surprised if her uterus is all messed up. I am disappointed about the judge dying, but I knew it would happen since I read the posts in here before watching the episode. I know others said they hated Amelia in the past and saw the tumor as a cop-put, but um... I'm beginning to really dislike Amelia now? I'm trying to pin-point when she was last like this. It would have to be before her selfish, bratty friend killed herself, driving Amelia to drugs and booze. By the way, her friend wasn't bratty and selfish because she killed herself. She had already given me a bad impression long before that, and then using suicide as an excuse? I just did not like her. Maybe the tumor was already impacting Amelia then because there's no way I would have been friends with that chick. #endrant I liked Carina a little better this episode until she started speaking Italian and... gun-gina? Really? At first, I thought that chick's name was Georgina and that was her way of pronouncing it. But nope. Of course. Ugh, and Owen, really? And Owen, really? It seemed to me as if he might have been having second thoughts about ending things with Amelia at the beginning of the episode. And Amelia! God, like I said in the previous paragraph, I'm really beginning to not like her and that pisses me off. I hope this is just residual tumor making her behave this way. Sorry to be the annoying hearing impaired nag (why aren't trailers captioned?) but can someone transcribe the trailer. God, I fucking hate asking that.
  2. (Haven't seen the ep yet so I am basing my assumptions off posts in here, I will get around to it at some point) So they're actually willing to acknowledge Jaggie is incest? Or is this foreshadowing to episode 300? By the way, when does 300 air?
  3. Ok, now that I have finally watched the episode (thanks Mom for letting me access your Xfinity account!) I can give my two cents properly. I didn't think I was going to enjoy the episode at all, but I actually kind of liked it! Like others have said, I find it incredibly hard to believe that Megan was perfectly fine after being held hostage for ten years. Someone mentioned they would have liked to see how it came about that she adopted Farouk, but that didn't happen. This Iraqi woman, though; wasn't she badly injured? If she did taser or shoot Megan, the pilot would have flown them back to base, right? This Iraqi woman did not look strong enough to move and hold the pilot at gunpoint. What happened to that pilot anyways? As someone else said, why didn't Teddy send someone after that helicopter? I know... This is Grey's and we're supposed to suspend every single ounce of belief when it comes to this show... but still! Do the writers really think we're that stupid? That we'll actually believe that Teddy didn't call for assistance, that this badly-injured Iraqi woman managed to either maneuver the helicopter or hold the pilot at gunpoint, that Megan had ten blissful years as a hostage where the insurgents allowed her to raise their child? In what world does this happen? Other than the fictional universe that is Grey's Anatomy. I never really began to like Nathan until this season, and I can definitely say I am disappointed to see him go. I didn't like how he was written off, how after two seasons of pursuing Meredith in a near-stalkerish fashion, that he goes running back to Megan. I know he thought Megan was dead, but still. There should have been a proper storyline to close up Meredith and Nathan's relationship for good. I didn't like how it was handled at all. With Megan and Meredith trying to hand Nathan to the other as if they were in the eighth grade. I am looking forward to next week's episode, I don't know anything that was said in the trailer. But it looks like someone bought a boat? I really don't need to see any men shirtless, thank you very much. Unless it's going to turn into material more suitable for Showtime, put your shirts on.
  4. I didn't watch this episode, but reading posts in this thread gave me enough information as to what happened. First, Nathan's gone? And he didn't get brutally killed off? But wait, my Shonda Kill List says Owen is next in line. Does this mean we're working backwards now? So who's next? Deluca and Jo? If the writers want to send them off into the sunset together, so be it. I'm tired of them screwing with Jo and Alex's relationship, I've given up shipping them a long time ago. But back to Nathan, I'm actually kind of bummed and irritated. They certainly gave him a whole new personality in season 14, making him likeable; but it kind of defeats everything we know about him from seasons 12/13 and his obsessive pursuit of Meredith. If Nathan is gone, and the Kill List (or write-off list) is going in backwards order now, Deluca and Jo will be the next to leave; does this mean we're going to get Meredith/Alex? I'd actually be ok with that because as I said: 1. Jo/Alex sailed for me a long time ago and 2. Meredith and Alex's relationship isn't as toxic as it was in seasons 11-13. But it'd have to be a really slow build. I don't want them to get drunk and wake up in bed together, then boom! They're a couple and all that. I see the writers never brought Addison back for Amelia. That really bums me out. I'm wondering if the writers are planning on writing off Amelia as well. As someone in here said, looks like they're thinning out the cast? So in order: Nathan, Deluca, Jo, Amelia (assuming we base her first appearance from the PP/GA cross-over) are the next to go. :) No, wait, Maggie is in there somewhere. OT: I have a theory about 14x08 that has me absolutely positively giddy. =)
  5. Well, I haven't watched Friends in years. I think the last time I actually enjoyed a episode or two was last decade, and that would be almost eight years ago. My taste in shows have certainly changed in recent years, and now I look at things from a perspective I wouldn't have considered looking at them from back when. So, these are the things that annoyed me then and would probably annoy me even more now. Some other points made in earlier posts within this thread was Ross' abusive behavior towards Rachel. I remember when I first saw the series as a child (was too young for the show then, but caught a few episodes) I sided with Ross over Rachel with the whole break-up. But when I was older, first saw the full series at about nineteen or twenty... not too long after the show ended... I thought "yeah, that was a lame thing you did, Ross." However, the outright abuse and controlling behavior Ross has towards Rachel I never considered thoroughly. As I said, it has been years since I last binge-watched the series from beginning to end. But the things that I remember, and were pointed out in this thread, points clearly to that abuse and controlling behavior. I was never a hard-core shipper of Ross/Rachel, and didn't understand why the writers decided to drag their "we were on a break!" argument for seven years! It's ridiculous! I also find each of the characters annoying. I'd probably say something different/more detailed for the other five now than I would have in the past, but Joey has been consistent. I hate the way the writers made him. Nobody, not even someone with an actual intellectual disability, can be that stupid and yet still function in day-to-day adult living without the slightest assistance. Speaking of intellectual disabilities, I hate how Phoebe made up the lame-ass excuse that her "brother" was r******* in the episode where Joey pretended to speak French. Look, Joey was probably being a lazy bum and just didn't actually want to say he was interested in learning French. Wasn't it said around that time that Joey was looking for jobs because he was low on money? Why couldn't the writers have just gone with that angle instead. Ross has always been one of my least favorites, he and Monica are probably tied at #4 as my least favorite of the gang. Ross first, and then Monica. So, Ross was always made to be this childish, manipulative, self-centered ass. As it's been pointed out earlier in my post and others have said earlier on in this thread, he could get incredibly controlling, obsessive, creepy, even stalkerish when it came to Rachel. I remember many years ago, around the time I last binge-watched the series, there was a fanfic up. Ross had raped Rachel in Vegas or something like that, but as with all outrageous bashing fanfics, Ross was made super OOC. But it did consist of him being controlling, obsessive, creepy, and stalkerish; but I don't think canon Ross would ever rape Rachel. Anyways, he was just a very toxic person for Rachel. He wasn't very kind to his sister either, and I think the Geller sibling dynamic was just majorly dysfunctional. I can say that I never really liked Joey or Ross at any given point in the series. But Monica, I had varying opinions throughout the show. While there were things I really didn't like about her, there were things I loved about her. She's still one of my least favorite characters though. I do have to wonder how she lost all that weight between 1988 and 1989 though. I guess we'll never know..... Like Monica, there were times I really liked and really hated Phoebe. I didn't like how the writers dumbed her down in the later seasons. I liked the eccentric Phoebe from seasons 1-4. It seems like they kind of changed her character after she carried the triplets for her brother and his wife. As with Phoebe, I think the writers really dumbed Rachel down in later seasons and I hated that. I really can't say anything bad about Chandler but that may be because I'm partial towards Matthew Perry? I don't know. So, really, if I watch the show now, I'd probably have to pause every five or ten second to note something that bugged me. OH! I just remembered. The last episode I watched I think was "The One With the Embryos" early on in the episode... I won't get into the specific line itself, but it really pissed me off that Netflix didn't censor it. Or that even the writers thought it was ok to have that character say it, but it's not like they had a magic crystal ball looking into 2016. :) #rantover
  6. I may not have said "this has been four years in the making." Seriously, how anti-climatic! Ugh. This season is already losing the steam it had in the first three episodes.
  7. Evettte, Catherine shut that down. I think she saw the squeamish chemistry and shut that down as soon as possible. I could seriously write love letters to Catherine Avery right now. Aha.
  8. Under my freaking out that they were committing mental incest right under their parents' nose, I did manage to catch the captioning saying a billion.
  9. So, I am exhausted right now and have a headache. But I want to say this: Damn! I never thought I'd say I love Catherine Avery but damn! "My sister was always the one to talk some sense into me." GIRL STOP! <3
  10. I wish Meredith would tell Nathan like a mature adult, instead of dragging him around, saying "do this, no don't do this, do that." and all sorts of ridiculous shit that only a sixteen year old would do. I've never been a Meredith/Nathan shipper or even remotely liked them until the final episode of last season. I always thought Nathan was predatory in his pursuits of Meredith, which is why I was completely thrown off in the finale of season 13. Now, I want them together, and I hope Nathan realizes it soon that Meredith is trying to get him back but can't say it like the grown ass adult she is. Yep, Maggie is still self-absorbed. Anyone could see through Andrew's corny, lame-ass fake apology. But nope, Maggie is still hung up on their relationship and so self-absorbed like a sixteen year old. I miss the Maggie from last week's second episode, where she was actually an adult having an actual conversation with people, in this case: her father. And, speaking of which, what was up with fixing Jackson's collar in front of all those people. Wasn't Catherine there, and doesn't she just love April to bits? Re recaps: I guess there are no more. These were the major reason I signed up on PTV, since TWoP is no more and all that. Next week's episode: Can someone tell me what the trailer said? Thank you.
  11. I would babble why I didn't see the trailer (not that it would have mattered since no closed captions) but I won't. That's a whole separate channel and show I was watching. Anyways... Grey's Anatomy! I'm with you guys on Andrew's sister. She's thinking about sex 24/7 and please correct me if I'm wrong, and I'm positive I'm not... wasn't that sexual harassment when she was talking to Arizona? I mean, she didn't explicitly say the word no or show resistance, but she did look uncomfortable...? Caterina totally killed tonight's episode and I'm really curious as to how she will be when the tumor is out. IF she's had it ten years, this means she already had it when she first showed up at St Ambrose on Private Practice in 2010. I kind of wish they didn't do that, but I like that she was stressing out about all the patient she supposedly screwed up over the years. I'm not surprised Amelia's mortality rate is lower than Derek's, he could get pretty abrasive. I'm actually with Catherine, I don't thin she's racist per se, just that she feels frustrated with Harper Avery's lack of understanding as what it's like to be a black woman. He was kind of an ass to Jackson too, but he still was his grandson. I see he disowned his son as well, but remained close to Catherine over the years. I don't remember that psychiatrist in this episode, I only remember the woman Meredith was seeing back in season 3 after she tried to drown herself. This must have been after Derek's death, but didn't she skip town for nine months after he died? She seemed to be fine when she returned to Seattle.
  12. I'd like to know this, they can't get a clear brain scan on the MRI if you move even a centimeter. So how are they going to get a clear reading when you are orgasming? 0_o
  13. Pretty much. I love Caterina Scorsone, and can tolerate Amelia at the best. I do agree that she has a lot of flaws and can act childish at her worst. But I like to look outside the box and try to come up with logical explanations, not excuses; explanations. There is a huge difference, and some of the posters in here as well as myself have already pointed those out. Amelia/Owen may not be comparable to Owen/Cristina 100% because Amelia does want children while Cristina never did, but Owen's approach with the two women is almost exactly alike. He pressures them, he pushes them, and then he shuts them down when he doesn't get his way. Amelia has her faults in this relationship as well. She should have spoken directly to Owen about that baby she had with Jake, or about Jake himself, or opened up when she learnt he had a (supposedly) dead sister. Or he could have opened up to her right after Derek's death, now that would have been development in their relationship! "Amelia, I- I'm so sorry about Derek. blahblah" to which Amelia would have given a snarky, biting reply; but then that would have opened the conversation about Megan. But nope, the writers thought it was a good idea to have him abandon her to go halfway across the world. That whole thing pisses me off as a whole, including on the Jackson/April front but I'm not talking about that relationship here. That would have been significant plot development, and I think that would have brought back the Private Practice Amelia instead. I loved Amelia on Private Practice, not so much on Grey's Anatomy. Like I said, I can tolerate her when she's at her very best, and I try to give myself assertion to my liking of her by looking at explanations. I know I shouldn't look too much into it since it's Grey's and a soap, but whatever. aha It's like Owen and Amelia are living two completely different lives and they only cross path when it's convenient to the plot.
  14. Thank you, and I appreciate you're a person who dislike Amelia so much but is willing to see the other problems here! They were talking about him so openly (something about 35 years old, and Owen now likes him or something?) and yet, not saying "where is he? he should be here!" when they were saying that exact same thing about Amelia. I know she hasn't been there for Owen much in recent time, but she was there when he got the call about his sister being alive and went to the other hospital with him. At least she made an effort and I may be the only one to think this, but I have to agree with Amelia when she said Owen was suffocating her. Bringing Cristina up was below the belt, but I do agree that Owen can get extremely pushy. While Cristina made the Crowen relationship toxic, Owen is making the Omelia relationship toxic. Why is it that his family don't criticize Cristina, even though she's been out of his life for three years? Also, I did notice very subtle things with Amelia in 14x01. She's clearly upset about her brother still being dead and Owen's sister being, in fact, alive after all these years. If Owen really cared for Amelia, he would have gone up to her and instead of saying "my family doesn't like you, you need medicine and professional help" (what supposedly 38 year old says that anyways?) he would have been like, "hey, I know my dead sister is actually alive and all that, and Derek is still dead. How are you holding up?" or something along that line. I definitely hope this tumor is the answer to all of Amelia's flaws (or what makes everyone hate her) and she recovers from this with a whole new personality and view on life. When she does, she will see that Owen is not the man for her, and god knows how many years have gone by. Then, her memory may be impaired so she won't remember Jake or whatever his name is, her brainless unicorn baby, Derek dying, or anything like that. I just really hope the writers treat this with care and don't do any freaky ghost sex with Jake or whatever his name is. Please. Or show her holding the brainless unicorn baby, that thing was creepy!
  15. It depends on where Riggs and Megan's child was born. But if they were born after Megan was kidnapped and held hostage, do you really think they'd let that child stick around? Or would they get rid of the infant? I've always liked the theory of Megan being pregnant when she walked away from Riggs (or supposedly did) all those years earlier, but I never imagined she would be held hostage. Then again, these insurgents were supposedly nice, so they probably let Megan keep the child and raise him/her.If that is the case (and s/he wasn't born on the army base) then he is an Iraqi citizen, even if he's whatever religion Megan is (I'm assuming Catholic) right? However, I'm sure the Army would eventually work it out after a lot of red tape. I never thought I'd say this, but I want Meredith/Riggs together now. What I don't understand is why for a season and half, Nathan was all stalkerish and wouldn't give the hell up on pursuing Meredith after she said 'no' time and time again... then Meredith returns the feelings... Megan returns, and boom Nathan's head over heels for his ex again? Honestly, Owen was the exact same way with Teddy; however circumstances are slightly different in Owen's favor than it is for Meredith as I believe Teddy was a light part of his relationship with Cristina, even though there was infidelity involved. Plus, he's confused with Amelia and all of that, not it gives him the right to cheat on her no matter how Amelia is behaving. Also, I'm very late for this one: The tumor is 3 cm big, so that.must take up a significant part of her frontal lobe. It would explain how she's being erratic, but why wasn't she diagnosed years ago? Why now? All of a sudden, after Owen tells her she's got problems and needs therapy? I'm a fan of Caterina Scorsone and follow her on Instagram, I do wonder (but I don't want to start any rumors) if she wants to take a step back to focus on her two daughters, one of whom has an intellectual disability. IF that's the case, will Amelia be killed off? Or will she be written off with an open ending, like Izzie, Cristina, and Stephanie?
  16. Those sub interns didn't even look old enough to be high school graduates let alone about to complete med school!
  17. I definitely saw the tumor thing coming, but it was more a wishful thinking on my part. I'd actually forgotten about it by the time Amelia asked Andrew's sister for the MRI-orgasm thingy ma jingy. So, it was certainly a surprise at the end! But can anyone tell me what the 14x03 trailer said? The captions doesn't show up for that and I'm hearing impaired. Ugh. Definitely loved all the throwbacks! And Meredith/Alex scenes that were not toxic! It was like season 2 Meredith/Alex, ah! Love it! I never really liked Teddy and thought she was a self-righteous bitch this episode (14x01 mostly) but I love that she stopped Owen from kissing her in 14x02. The mention of Henry (I think that was his name?) was nice too, didn't he die though? Also, didn't Owen cheat on Cristina with Teddy as well? It's kind of ironic that both Amelia and Cristina don't want children and their husband cheated on them with the same woman. Or something to that extent. I am so happy the Jackson/Maggie was kept to a minimum. It seems like the writers actually are in that population who believes romantic relationships between step siblings is incestuous. Yay writers. I love that Jackson was so insistent on talking to April, and again she is giving up on him. I really wish she'd let him talk. I have to wonder what is going through Jackson's mind? I'm under the impression he does want to be with April. Back to Maggie, I love the. references to her first episode and her somewhat bonding with Richard. This is what I meant by that second sentence, Maggie is acknowledging Richard is her father! This makes me happy for other reasons, it seems familial dynamics are so dysfunctional on this show! So it's nice to see something somewhat resembling normalcy here. I really don't know what to say to the whole Meredith/Nathan/Megan thing. Didn't Nathan cheat on her? And Megan was held hostage for a decade, but they were nice? It makes absolutely no sense!
  18. Looking at this thread, I know I made the right choice continuing to watch the second hour of this other show. Thanks, guys!
  19. I binged-watched the series over this past month after a friend had been insisting I watch since we met several years ago. I didn't see season 3 though, only seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix. Season 3 had completed its run on Showtime when I began my binge-watch. Anyways, season 2 of Twin Peaks definitely had its strong and weak moments. I felt like the case of Laura Palmer's murder could have been solved in the one season, and then the return of Windom Earle in the second season. That would probably have made a much shorter season 2, but I felt very disjointed in the few episodes between the resolution of Laura's death/Leland's suicide and the appearance of Windom Earle. For Cooper, I asked my friend what she thought of him being in a romantic relationship. At that time, the writers were trying for the Audrey/Coop relationship, which just creeped me out. A few episodes later, Annie Blackburn appears out of the blue, we had no idea Norma even had a sister, right? But someone else said that it would have been better if Annie were Norma's daughter (perhaps with Big Ed?) or something like that. That would have explained the hostility between Norma and her mum. Plus, Annie looked to be about Shelley's age, so no older than 25 I'd say. Norma was at least 38. To the poster above me, actually episode 15 was when ABC pulled the plug on Twin Peaks originally back in 1991. That was by far the absolute worst episode of the series.
  20. I think Nathan was saying sorry for two reasons before he drove off to see Megan. Meredith assumed right on one of the reasoning, but the other was that he essentially broke up with her because he's still in love with his ex-wife. I hope we don't dive into the relationship so suddenly in season 14, because Megan already has enough to deal with as it is. I found it pretty 'convenient' that the stairwells were suddenly without flames just so Ben and the firefighters could rescue Stephanie and Erin. Also, am I the only one who found the whole bunch of them to be completely incompetint? The new spin-off is definitely not something I have any interest in watching. Because they are brother and sister through marriage. It is incest, even if they are not related by blood. Catherine Avery and Richard Webber are married. This makes Jackson and Maggie siblings. I was actually thinking "well, that kid is going to be so effed up from all the inrbed genes--" but then remembered Jackson and Maggie aren't actually related by blood. Erin didn't actually strike me as creepy this episode, but I didn't feel worried for her well-being.
  21. My thoughts on 13x23 Alex: Unless I missed something earlier on in the season like where Jo tells Alex what her real name is and who her husband is or what he does, I found it highly unrealistic that he was able to track him down. What are the odds of him even being in the same city as Jo? Will Jo’s husband make another appearance on the show? What about Jo and her feelings? I am a Jo/Alex shipper and it really frustrates me that they’re dragging this on and need to let Jo speak for herself instead of having Alex track her ex-husband down. But I might be missing something, so feel free to fill me in. Stephanie: I was on the edge of my seat the entire episode, especially after the guy held her at knife-point. As I said already, I don’t understand why she just didn’t overpower him, with her foot or an elbow. But I guess it’s all in the name of writing Stephanie off, so she can’t be the strong woman she’s been portrayed as for the past five seasons. I’ve never really been a huge fan of Stephanie, but I will be really upset if she dies in the season finale. Erin: I found her annoying and obnoxious. She served absolutely no purpose for most of the episode other than to be a brat until she came across Stephanie and the patient. Erin is a little psycho in the making and her parents need to keep a closer eye on her. Her only purpose, I guess, was to show the patient the lighter. Owen: I am not surprised one bit that Megan is still alive, and I felt for Owen this episode. He’s probably thinking about all the horrors she had to endure while still overseas and then he gave up on her. It will certainly be interesting to see him reunited with his sister, and I can only hope Shonda&co. pull it off nicely. Especially since Megan is going to be suffering from even more severe PTSD than Owen did many seasons ago. Amelia: I really felt for her this episode. Amelia is my favorite character, or the PP Amelia was; I’m not as big a fan of Amelia on Grey’s Anatomy. However, I love Caterina Scorsone, and knows she is committed to playing this character. It’s almost ironic that Amelia finally said “Derek is dead” out loud and then almost immediately afterwards learnt that Owen’s sister is alive. The conflicting emotions were very subtle, but Caterina managed to show it so I knew Amelia was feeling torn. She wants to be happy for Owen, but is feeling a bit jealous herself. Meredith: She was all right this episode, a first in a really long time. However, I did not like her statement towards the end of the episode when she was talking with Amelia. She basically implied that she was more important to Derek than his sister, and she should be informed first if the Megan scenario was applicable to Derek. She’s been self-centered for a long time and has thrown Amelia under the bus time and time again, and Amelia just stands there and takes it.
  22. I thought she was going to stab him in the neck and sever his spinal cord. I guess all in the name of writing Stephanie off, she can't do anything powerful. *sigh*
  23. Where is Olivia Benson when you need her? I would rather have had her appear. This is a Dick Wolf production, right? Better her than that sad excuse of a detective. Another thing, I thought assisted suicide was only legal in Washington and Oregon? Am I missing something here?
