  1. Wasn't his father a dead-beat as well? I believe his mother was struggling not only with her health, but raising three young children in a poor neighborhood in Chicago.
  2. Sisters, plural, as in Maggie and Amelia? Damn, I'm beginning to like this new Meredith. She used to be such a bitch to Amelia and Jo, now she's being nice to Jo and is considering Amelia a sister. I hate that I like this new Meredith, with everything else the writers are fucking up. Apparently Teddy told Owen off? Good for her! Even though she was the one that told Owen in the first place that she had feelings for him (way back in season 6) while he was still engaged to Beth. That was her doing, but then a few episodes later (still season 6) Owen told her that he was in love with her while with Beth. Whatever. But point is, I'm glad that Teddy set him straight and kicked him out.
  3. So, I have no idea what transpired between Teddy/Owen and Meredith/Yellow Patient because I was too busy speculating on the "Get Lost" list (formerly called the "Kill List") and in that ten minute where Owen and Teddy spoke/had sex, I figured it out. But speculations are not allowed here. But April, I hope things improve for her from now on. I hated that the Rabbi died right after shining some new insights on God and Yahweh. :( She seemed like she could have spoken forever with him after that moment, but he died right away. I am so gutted, she actually had someone who cared. I have very little faith (npi) that it will, because I thought that moment he died after the revelation, she would be driven over the edge. We'll see. What else even happened this episode. We saw Jackson and Amelia for like two seconds, right? What did they even do? Oh, we saw Alex at the end. Typical of him to read deeper into the interaction between Meredith and Yellow Patient. But hey Meredith, Nathan?
  4. Holy shit, it's like everyone has a freaking monologue!
  5. Does anyone know if April is actually dying? Or is this all speculation? What's the basis of speculation, other than Shonda's M.O. for killing off characters we love?
  6. They were trying to portray her as a prepubescent psychotic eleven year old all the while making her cute and precocious. Isn't she supposed to be like seven or eight? I am confused.
  7. How many excuses did Catherine make as to why she didn't want Jackson with Maggie? - It's incest, which it kind of sort of isn't. Depending on jurisdiction. But the way Catherine approaches Jackson sometimes, why should incest matter to her? - April, who Jackson hasn't been married to for two years. When has Catherine reached out to April during all this time. Oh, to sue for custody of unborn Harriet. Right. - Losing Richard, which I think could happen for reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with Jackson and Maggie. She should know Richard isn't like Papa Avery. It was weird to have Jackson refer to Richard as a father when he is dating his biological daughter. But whatever, I wish they would just say they believe in the step-relatives in a relationship is incest or just begone with it already! It's not cute how they keep saying "some families do this..." in the middle of a heated make-out session. That is just not normal. I had no idea that was Laura San Giacomo! She looked so different in this episode. Also, speaking of the storyline, have the writers not heard of the Large Hadron Collider? Aren't they trying to find the Higgs-Boson Particle the get more information on the big bang? I didn't realize finding out the physics of the big bang included time travel. Whatever. I can't remember what Meredith was giving up or Jo had encouraged her to pursue, but I guess it doesn't matter. I could not care less about Meredith these days. I do wish that we would focus more on Jo and Alex, or (as someone else said) the familial dynamics between Meredith and Maggie. We had two seconds where they spoke, I can't even remember it. April keeps spiraling further and further downwards. It was nice, although random, that Jackson pulled her into the supply closet to try to get her to speak.
  8. I could not care less if Owen left the show. He was such an ass to Amelia. If I talked shit like that to my young family member who had cancer, my family would not speak to me ever again. And you know what, Amelia should never speak to him again. Girl, you don't need to be treated like trash.
  9. I just watched this episode, due to Comcast not saving it on their OnDemand service. Whatever. Thank you, Hulu, but your commercial breaks are a p.i.t.a. So, Jolex. About damn time they got engaged. I just hate that it was dragged out for three seasons before one said yes to the other. Did we really need the two-year build up to Jo's confrontation with Paul and the resolution? What was the point of all that, this is the Jolex we saw at the end of season 11! Whatever. I'm happy they're engaged, let's hope they walk down the aisle and have little Jolex spawns. But knowing Shonda (probably not KV) they will probably call it quits before "I Do" next season. Typical Grey's. Although, I do have to wonder if Jo's still going to apply for fellowships outside Seattle, and now she's engaged to Alex, will he go with her? This means Meredith is the last of M-A-G-I-C. I hope not. That would be bittersweet, because while my current favorite pairing get their happy ending, it will all happen off screen. I've grown to really like Alex over the past few years. Younger Alex looked just like Justin Chambers! I wonder if that was his kid. Younger Jo looked just like Camilla Luddington, with a bit of Mandy Moore. I think it was the hairstyle. Speaking of younger Jo, I am kind of disappointed she walked away from Chris. He seemed to really care for her, and if she'd stayed with him, then Paul never would've happened. As you can see, I did a heavily Jolex centric post here. That was really the only defining point of the episode. And the little Meredith/Alex talk. I'm glad we're getting appropriate brother/sister vibes from them, even though they aren't related either consanguineous or through marriage. Now hey, how about the writers do that for Jackson/Maggie, hmm? Don't even get me started on Jackson/Maggie. Let's just say I am glad I waited until the episode was over to through my empty ice cream carton away! But stepping away from the incest, either legally (by their parents) or consanguineous (by blood, which they aren't) I have to give my firm two cents of Jaggie. When I watched Jesse Williams interact with Chyler Leigh and Sarah Drew, he had chemistry with them. They worked off one another, that actually showed me Jexie and Japril were a plausible couple. Of course, I wanted Lexie with Mark, but whatever. I think he worked the best with Sarah Drew, and not because I love Japril. I think whoever the showrunner then was tried to put the new characters (being Jackson, April, Reed, and Percy at the time) together platonically and romantically, and see how they interacted with the cast members/characters who have been around longer. Jesse and Chyler definitely had chemistry. The beautiful thing about Jackson/April is that we knew they were friends even before their first appearance in "Invasion" season 6 episode 5. I've always wondered if Jesse and Sarah had some practice scenes together before filming their first episodes, and the writers saw their strength together on and off screen. I wasn't really in the fandom at the time Sarah and Jesse came around, but even looking at them today, they seem to be inseparable. They brought Jackson and April to life. I won't argue that Jesse and Kelly are appealing to the eyes. But I don't think they got enough time to work together, like Sarah and Jesse did before that final episode in season 8 where April and Jackson had sex. It took two years of trying to gauge Sarah/Jesse's chemistry and tweaking April/Jackson just so so that it'd actually make sense when they got together. I think the fact that I love Jackson/April and Jesse/Sarah's chemistry might hinder a better argument as to why I don't like Jackson/Maggie. Maybe if they waited a few more seasons, long after Sarah and April left the show, and worked up their relationship, I could get on board. But right now, they're like a bunch of awkward teenagers. I think what bothers me even more about the whole thing is that the writers have actually acknowledged it is incest in some form. That is a major turn-off for me.
  10. I know people are saying it's not actually incest (NOTE: It isn't consanguineous incest, but it is incest according to some jurisdictions) but watching Jaggie actually makes me physically nauseous. I hadn't fully recovered from my nausea to fully comprehend what was going on with my current favorite pairing - Jolex.
  11. I have to disagree with that, and here's why: - Isiah Washington got fired, but Burke didn't die. He went on to become a successful world-renown doctor in Switzerland. - T.R. Knight agreed to leave the show, not necessarily fired; but George died anyways, even if it was heroically. - Chyler Leigh and Eric Danes didn't get fired, they asked to leave so they could focus on other projects; Lexie and Mark died anyways. Mark less viciously than Lexie, though. I don't know the background story as to what led up to Sandra Oh leaving, but I'm sure she exited the show on good terms with Shonda. Cristina goes off to Switzerland. - Behind the scene drama with Patrick Dempsey, he gets let go (like they claim to have done with Sarah and Jessica) and Derek dies. This is probably what you guys are basing this off of. I won't deny that something will happen to April and Arizona in their final episode. - Jerrika Hinton asked to leave the show because she signed on to a new series; Stephanie almost died but miraculously(lol) lived, and went off to see the world. Notable mentions: - Mac (I never remember the actress' name, so I use her Veronica Mars name) asked if she could focus on the Veronica Mars revival, and her character Heather died. I don't need to mention Reed and Percy. They were shown as weak from the get go. I guess they didn't want to run out of ideas with the other two (Jackson and April) too soon. LOL Eight years later, though, there are still numerous storylines possible for, at least, April. But whatever. Back to Jessica and Sarah, I think something big will happen. What will it be, I doubt it will be a shooting though. If the writers are smart, they will avoid gaining even more controversy than they have with this news of Sarah and Jessica's departure.
  12. Like I said, I had a feeling I got HTGAWM and Scandal mixed up. Carry on now.
  13. The way I see it, they had extra money in their account when HTGAWM got canclelled. So they brought on all those interns. But then someone, for some god damn reason beyond me, said "hey, you know what you don't have? A firefighting show and a courtroom drama!" so ooooh. Budget shrinks, time to make casting cuts. Whose the first to go? The guy that plays Ben Warren (in a way, I think the other characters on that show will be front and center), Sarah, and Jessica. HTGAWM is automatically excluded since it's ending. Don't know if anyone got cut from Scandal. (Or I might be getting the series switched. Whatever.) What I want to happen: April and Arizona to go off into the sunset as a romantic couple This is the big journey I'd been hoping April would take. As a Christian, she discovers she is biseexual at the very least, confronts Arizona (slowburn though) and has a dilemma telling her conservative Christian family, all of whom think homosexuality is a sin. That would have been a hell lot interesting than what we're getting. I mean, is the Japril shipper in me disappointed at that prospect? Yeah, but hey, LGBT+ Christian. Those are rare to come by.
  14. Several things, first I want to address what @UNOSEZ has said about Jackson and Dr. Horny. I think they both are being creeps. But higher up on the creep factor is definitely Dr. Horny, no doubt about that. He kept pressuring Amelia to have sex with him even though she denied consent (No) how many times? He just can't give her a break! And then April, I would have been worried that Dr. Horny was going to take advantage of April's vulnerability and hurt her. No clue what the previews said for this coming Thursday, but I'm sure they're going to play it off as being consensual sex. *sigh* Jackson is definitely creepy, and forget the fact that he's horny for sister (biological or not) Maggie, the way he's approaching the whole situation is all messed up. For me, the red flags were April the whole game night, yet he goes home to dump Amal Clooney clone, and runs back to Maggie? And speaking of which, this brings me to my big question: where the hell was Harriet?!
  15. Cristina, yes. Izzie, not so much. But it'd be nice to find out what she's been doing all these years. Me too! But unfortunately, I don't think they are going to end on such great terms. April humiliated Jackson enough in last night's episode. -_- Nope, me too! I kind of hope Amelia gets pregnant, forcing them to work out their problems over the next eight or nine months. But knowing the writers, that's not going to happen. Also, someone asked if Amelia recently had sex with that guy who did her brain tumor. No, she didn't in recent episodes; but she did back at the beginning of the season. Regarding April's suspension and Owen getting away with whacking a patient: yeah, I found that to be bullshit too. And then the fact that Bailey and Webber were laughing at her was kind of unforgivable. They didn't even talk to her or sit her down or encourage her to go to counseling. Does nobody remember all those losses she experienced just three or four episodes ago? Guess not. Way to write April off as being a whiny little brat. Jackson/Maggie: I agree, no chemistry. Were we supposed to be saying "Oh. My. God! He's confessing his feelings! Kiss her, Jackson!" because I sure as hell wasn't. Gag. "Auntie" Marie: I agree, she was shady as hell from the get-go. Andrew/Dancer: I actually liked them this episode! I know I'm probably the only one who feels this way, but I want to know their back-story now. Clive: Yeah, really is a bummer he was a cheating douchebag! :( I kind of liked him,
  16. My friend (who posted on PTV briefly a couple years before I joined) said she heard that it was so they could pay Ellen Pompeo more money. But wasn't there a news release shared on here about a month or two ago about Ellen getting a raise? Or is that the same thing and we're just finding out the official news on April's fate now? Also, has it been confirmed that they are going to kill her off? To be honest, I expected her to commit suicide before the February (?) mini hiatus. Is it bad I wish it had gone that way in that episode instead of having to go through this? :/
  17. The only good thing about this episode was the Owen/Amelia scene, and the fact they played out Owen stripping and laying Amelia on the table. I wish we got to see the actual sex over the squicky incestuous (shut up already) kissing that followed several moments later. I don't even know what happened at the end of the episode because I was swallowing bile.
  18. They need to bring Patrick Dempsey back. That is all I will say on this matter. *whistles*
  19. So Jessica Capshaw and Sarah Drew are leaving the show. I really hope it ends being April/Arizona. Honestly, I don't know how this can end well for April, other than Arizona swooping in and giving her 100% support, and it evolves into something over the next eight or so episodes. We still have half an hour left of this episode. We will see.
  20. I never remember which one is Casey, and I normally love Taryn (Hellmouth) but she just didn't do anything for me this episode. While Qadhiri got to shine a little bit and made some progress/character development, it feels like Taryn is stuck taking everyone's order. It's almost reminiscent of Jo 2.0 again; which is ironic because most of the time, she takes orders from Jo. I agree that Glasses and Dancer (and Pej, whatever his name is) are quite annoying. I do kind of get a kick at how skittish Glasses is, so maybe he's supposed to be comic relief. Any guesses that he will be the first to get killed off in the season finale? (Think Mousey) I did enjoy that scene with the cocky doctor and the ill girl aruging over music. That was rather amusing, and especially seeing Amelia/Alex's faces when they hurried in. I kept holding my stomach a couple times, hoping Amelia's former mentor wouldn't kiss her, especially when he had his epiphany.
  21. So, a lot of the characters got on my nerves in this episode. The one that got on my nerves the most was Ben, who is supposed to be a firefighter now; yet, he spent the whole day at GSMH getting into secure areas of the hospital that he no longer had privileged access to. I can’t remember how, but Webber found him at one point and told him off, which is probably the only productive thing Webber himself did the whole episode. I’m really feeling like Webber is back to his season 9-11 self again, just being there and in the way. He no longer contributes towards the characters’ storylines or the situation they are put in. He harassed Bailey when she was ready to come back and work. Though, I have to say, Bailey annoyed me as well. She got all high and mighty, and for a split second, I thought she was offending Qadhiri in a racist manner. I don’t think she was, but that might be privilege on my behalf. Feel free to clarify fo me As a matter of fact, speaking of Qadhiri, it makes me happy to see a Muslim-American character being portrayed in a way that doesn’t demonstrate they have terroristic or extremist tendencies. I doubt a religiously abiding Muslim-American would take their hijab off no matter what the circumstances are, but privilege. I don’t pretend to know other cultures or religions. There’s probably different branches of Islam that I’m not aware of. Back to Qadhiri, I think she seems to be most promising of all the interns. Taryn, who I loved in previous episodes, was a bit of a let-down here. Sam, on the other hand, was a bit better. That whole dancer shout out was funny as well. Cheers to that. Arizona annoyed me so much for the vast majority of the episode, until she saw April partying on the bartop with the interns. It was kind of reminiscent of Season 4 PP Amelia after her friend killed herself. She just needs to get a bag of Oxy and a loser boyfriend, and it’s Amelia 2.0! However, I hope it doesn’t go down that route, where April becomes hooked on drugs, booze, and spends a week and half getting high and drunk with a junkie in a hotel room. Jackson wasn’t an ass for once, and I thought him telling that slimy intern to do his dirty work was completely called for. However, I did not need the interaction with Maggie. I actually felt my stomach react when that came up. I know, not consanguineous incest. I don’t know what was happening or being said in the previews for next week’s episode, but I am happy (for now, until April shows ulterior motives and just wants to ditch Harriet to get high or drunk with not-yet-existent junkie) that April knocks on the door.
  22. If that's the case, then I wouldn't mind if it were someone like her biological cousin, aunt, uncle, etc. If I remember correctly, Jo's mother abandoned her at a fire station after she was born. That is all we know about where Jo came from. We know she grew up in Boston(?) but is that where she was born?
  23. I wouldn't be surprised if it just so happened to be a friend of Meredith or her family. Because Meredith is so special, she always gets her way.
  24. Does Chip's long hair bother anyone? There's just too much hair, hair everywhere! I watched the most recent episode last night, but I didn't care for it as much as previous episodes. It was different, and I wonder exactly how much time it took for the shed to be built and everything to be put into place. Someone on here said the produce would be used for Mangolia Table, but I think they're going to use some of it for themselves as well. Also, Oldest boy was grumpy again. Younger boy was kind of annoying. Chip behaved inappropriately in front of his children. What else is new?
  25. I don't know who does all the medical research, but they don't seem to do a very good job. @statsgirl well done!
