  1. That twin mommy blogger is amazing, another Peach in the making 🤣. i was totally shocked at the end - I thought Joe’s new obsession would last all season again! I think it’s smart they switched it up though, and I’m very curious how the rest of the season will go. also, when did Joe have time to make such an extensive stalker box? He met the woman once! Although I guess he’s been watching her for awhile before then. I guess he could have been going through her trash like a creeper to get stuff like the tampon 🤢
  2. I thought that when Brother Dawn asked that guy to solve the 'problem' of the botanist that he was speaking so obliquely that the problem solver would assume he wanted her dead, and that was what he was about to watch through his dragonfly cam. But apparently they are just talking? I don't really know what's going on with this storyline. But I am very into this idea that the current Brother Day disagrees with and even resents the current Brother Dusk, and I'm very curious to see how this schism will play out, especially when they try so hard to project unity, to the point of drinking at the same time. I also thought that the android lady's "surely we will be safe from impetuous action now," when Brother Day announced he was breaking protocol to go meet with religious leaders himself was great - criticism so dry they can all pretend it's not criticism (or alternatively it wasn't criticism at all - it's just super ambiguous and I'm into it).
  3. I think Brenden is trying to give/get roses while keeping his options open so he can switch over to Piper when she shows up without looking like an asshole, and I don’t think it will work out the way he wants. But Demi particularly has no grounds to be upset about it because she did the exact same thing with her girlfriend last season. Seriously, how is it different? I imagine a lot of people have some kind of relationship with one another before they get here, and sometimes it’s fine but sometimes it’s a cardinal sin. It just depends on how production/the others want to play it.
  4. I think Ted and Rebecca being each other's chat buddies on this no-photos-dating-app could be fun and I'm curious to see how the show does it (if they go there), but I agree they'll have to figure out how to explain why chat-Ted doesn't sound like IRL-Ted. The guy has a very distinctive voice, and they'll need a good reason for why he dropped it in the app. I'm very worried about Nate's arc. We see from the beginning of this season that the first thing Nate does once he has the power of being coach is treat the new guy with his old job badly. It's disappointing to me that Nate is the type of guy who needs to build his confidence in a new role by kicking the guy on the lower rung of the ladder - but not unrealistic, considering the way some of the guys treated him in season one. I was more surprised that Ted didn't try to gently rein Nate in. And I personally saw his version of Rebecca's confidence trick as pretty dark. I mean, spitting is gross, spitting or making a mess and leaving it for someone else clean up after you is the sort of mix of contempt and privilege that is generally a red flag, and spitting on your own reflection (and then leaving it to someone else to clean up) seems to imply a kind of self-loathing that is troubling to me. I also thought that the look Nate's dad gave him when they finally got the window table was more troubled than impressed. I'm thinking that Nate might need a good session with the team psychologist even more than Ted does, especially once his position is further challenged by Roy coming back. Am I reading too much into all of this? I'm worried. That said, I loved all the Rom-Communism with Roy. Roy in general has just been even more of a standout this season, I adore him.
  5. When Abigail was giving her 'slow' speech at first I thought she was trying to say that she doesn't want to get physical quickly, which seemed like a reasonable thing to set expectations for right off the bat - if you aren't on the same page, it might hurt less to go your separate ways after one date. But then she was saying it takes her like 8 months or whatever to call someone her boyfriend, which seems like the complete antithesis of the entire premise of Bachelor in Paradise, so I don't know what that's about. I kind of felt like she and Noah weren't really a great match, so I hope someone else comes down for Abigail, because I like her. I really want to know how old Tre's uncle is! XD Kenny's telling like every girl he meets that her age is 'close' to 40 keeps making me laugh because I know that he's saying that to try to convince them to date him, but since society gets so weird about women's ages and how anything after 29 your life is over or whatever, for a second it also sounds like he's negging them or calling them old ('ah you're pretty close to 40, better settle for me'). I don't think that's his intention, it just sounded that way for a second. And for the record, 27 or whatever age the women he was talking to were is not close to 40, dude.
  6. Oh, Sarah. Sarah, Sarah, Sarah. People told you what he was *so many times*. And I completely agree with the person upthread who talked about negging - all that stuff where Garret was like, I'm not sure if you're adventurous enough for me, do you really think you could keep up with me in bed - barf. It's just a power play to turn Sarah being chased to the one who is chasing him and his approval. But Sarah fell for it and was like, no, hey, I'm adventurous! I'm so adventurous! It's sad, but she's young. Everyone misjudges people. Hopefully she'll grow and learn. And hopefully people give Garret a wide berth. The thing that most surprised me was the little card at the end saying that Garret and Casey haven't spoken since the show ended. And Garret was going to spend the money on Casey moving out to LA? I'm thinking that part isn't true, but it's fun to imagine it is, because then it would truly make Casey the king fuckboy - the one who fucked over the fuckboy, all bromance when he thinks he's getting a place to stay/money to help with his move, and ghosting when the moving money falls through. Seriously though, I am surprised they didn't stay friends - curious why that happened. You'd think they'd at least text.
  7. I agree COMPLETELY. I get how Michael is self- involved enough to assume everything is about him (thanks for calling that out, Alex!), but one of the others should’ve mentioned it. Come on now.
  8. I think the show is doing a good job of showing Wackner's court going from funny to disturbing - the scene last ep with the loan shark guys beating up that one guy to get him to follow the ruling, and now jail. I don't think you can actually sign a contract promising to obey literally any penalty Wackner came up with. What if Wackner decided someone deserved the death penalty? There are some things just not covered by an arbitration agreement, and I'm very curious to see when someone really tells him no. Judging by the way Wackner went from charming to scary in like 30 seconds when Marissa pushed too hard (even if he did apologize later), I'm thinking things could get bad.
  9. I think Katie has been gunning for a 'hell yeah!' strong Bachelorette moment this whole season, and she keeps overdoing it. I think her 'your Bachelor audition ends tonight!' speech to that one guy (Thomas?) was too much, and now her righteous closure with Greg was too much. I also think she was genuinely in love with Greg - it's only the people that you love that can hurt you that badly. It's a good thing that Blake is such a confident guy - if the shoe was on the other foot, and Katie went on that whole speech about Blake (or one of the other guys) while Greg was her fiance, I think he would not have handled it well. And FWIW, I don't think either Katie or Greg are horrible - I think they were both two hurt people who had an emotionally bruising break-up, and that sucks. I think that it might be human nature to sort of lick your wounds and turn the other person into a villain in an attempt not to miss them any more - I've done that in the past, although luckily not on national tv. I hope they can all move on and heal.
  10. I think Monet vs Julien (even via proxies) seems like much more fun drama than Julien vs Zoya because Monet won't be using kid gloves. If Julien feels threatened enough, maybe she will go to another level and we can have a proper Gossip Girl Mean Girl War. This seems promising. I don't even understand what this show is trying to do with Max. First it seems like he is going to be in a thruple with Audrey and Aki except it's executed very poorly (if this thruple is an important relationship I think we need to see the moment Audrey decides, eff it I'll sleep with Max, not just find out about the morning after), then it seems like his primary relationship is supposed to be with the Latin teacher (ick to student/teacher relationships), and now it turns out the Latin teacher really is a gross predator after all (a silver lining since I do not like romanticizing crap like that) and Max dumps him pretty quick so...I don't know what is supposed to happen next? I just don't know where they are going with this character and it kind of annoys me. But if they figure it out in a satisfying way then I suppose I'll be impressed.
  11. My guess is that when Greg said all that about how she fills a hole in his heart she *wanted* to say she loved him, but was too in her head about how she had decided that she wouldn't say that until the end, and she can't give it away, and she has to balance the show and leave enough doubt that the audience doesn't know, but also express affection just not *too* much, so she just got awkward and stiff. Greg interpreted that as 'oh she doesn't like me, we aren't on the same wavelength,' which is understandable. But I think she also feels a lot of responsibility as the lead to actually make a show, when maybe what she should be doing is concentrating more on herself and her relationships. I don't think that makes her a sociopath or shallow - I mean, it *is a show*. I can't fault her for acting like she's on a love game show when that is where she is. But I can see how it's hurtful for Greg, if that's not where he is mentally. I also think that it was so annoying at the beginning of the fight when Katie was asking what's wrong, and he kept being like "I don't know, why do you think I'm sad? Why do you think that is?" and making her guess instead of just telling her. Communicate, dude. I have never been a Greg fan, and a part of me is like, of course she's thinking about who wins the show, THIS IS A LOVE GAME SHOW. You signed up for this! But if he's actually caught feelings and it's all tied up in his grieving for his dad, then that's a lot and I do sympathize. It's so obvious that he's the one she wants to end up with. There's no way she's going to go get engaged to Blake or Justin after all that, especially with the final montage of their greatest hits. So my guess is she pulls a Colton and ends the show in a desperate attempt to win him back, and either it works and they are happily ever after at the After the Final Rose thing, or it doesn't and she tries to be all 'independent woman who has learned about herself' about it with hints that mayyybe they'll get together later off-show.
  12. oh no Ted, what are you doing?? I understand the show has to bring Jamie back, but at the very least Ted should have taken Sam aside to warn him! This is just cruel! I don't understand why Ted wouldn't have tried to prepare Sam. Am I missing something? It almost feels out of character for Ted to be so callous towards one of his players. I was afraid for a second that Keeley's secret masturbatory material would be something related to Jamie, and was SO GLAD it was Roy's press conference. That's hilarious, I loved it. Roy and Keeley are amazing.
  13. I nearly did a spit take when Barnett said he SOLD HIS HOUSE to pay off Amber's student loans. Amber won the freaking lottery with this show. He must love her, I cannot think of another reason to do something so boneheaded. And yet she's still going to complain she wants a baby right away, when they are living in an apartment with a roommate?? Girl, this kind of poor planning is what got you in serious debt for a college degree you never finished. Please listen to Barnett on this one.
  14. Man, past Shelby really did a number on her friend. I feel so bad for the poor girl - here's Shelby, her only friend, throwing her under the bus and then blaming her for it even though Shelby is the one who started everything. I can empathize with Shelby, I understand why she did it, but jeez. I wonder if the dad thought that this retreat could be step one in Shelby's conversion therapy - break her down so he can build her back up as the person he wants her to be. I also think that it's interesting how they've made Shelby's missing teeth the metaphor for her queerness, and I hope it's setting us up for a big moment in the end where Shelby is out there without the dentures and no intention of hiding who she is anymore. It's odd to me that even though post-"rescue" she has the shaved head and everything, she still has the dentures in! I wonder how they create the no-eyeteeth effect in the actress. I'm also curious why she chose Leah to give her message to (whatever it is). Maybe because she knows Leah is paranoid enough to not dismiss whatever suspicions she has?
  15. And Shelby goes for it! I appreciated that last *look* on her face at the end - rescue seems to have come just when she crossed her big personal boundary, and now she'll have to deal with that. I'm honestly surprised that Toni is so receptive towards her, or at least nice. Martha's dream sequence at the beginning was so weird and so fun. And the show doesn't seem to be hiding that Dot is the operative at all at this point, which makes me suspicious. Is it going to be someone totally out of left field, like Martha? Maybe I'm overthinking it, lol. Linh's fate was just so heartbreaking to me. All she wants is to make Gretchen proud. And as for Gretchen - I'm not really surprised to learn the purpose of the experiment, but it seems such a deranged way to prove that women are better suited to lead societies. Surely it depends on the girls and the circumstances. Not to mention, if her whole thesis is that women are inherently more collaborative and constructive, then it is pretty ironic that she is just about the most destructive person on that show. And let's be serious, no one who believes that men are better leaders is going to be swayed by this bizarre experiment! But whatever, Gretchen's thought processes are not exactly like normal people's. Oh, and I am curious to see if she has a comparable group of teen boys on another island somewhere to compare. Honestly, if this is a legit experiment, she should have multiple groups of both boys and girls on their own islands - you can't prove anything from an experiment on only one group. I wonder if in the end we'll find out there's a whole nightmare archipelago. I am so curious about the next ep because there is no way that they are really being rescued - whatever terrible thing happened to Nora hasn't happened yet, and Rachel still has both hands (although I'm wondering if Nora biting her on the wrist will be the reason she loses the hand - like it gets really infected and has to be amputated).
  16. The woman running this program is even more out there than I thought. How is checking herself into a mental institution the best way she can think of to recruit that shrink/investigator? And he must be really shady to take a job offered in that way. But of course only extremely shady people would run an experiment/retreat like this anyway. It seems like their dynamic is that the woman running the program tries to couch things in therapeutic or scientific terms (it's all part of the project!) while the psychiatrist is the one bluntly being like 'we need to make them feel guilty so they don't report us'. It's interesting to me that the person who supposedly has chosen a career based on helping young people is the one who is the most open about manipulating the girls to save his own (and by extension the project's) skin. I got vaguely possibly-closeted vibes from Shelby before, but the whole thing where she straddles Toni to get her to take the medicine makes me think the show is definitely signaling something is going to develop with Shelby or between the two of them. I honestly thought for a second Shelby was going to put the pill in her own mouth, kiss Toni and push it into her mouth to get her to take the medicine, which would have been too much. Toni continues to be the most heart-breaking character for me. The part where she yells at Shelby for giving her (Toni) the last pill instead of Martha because Martha is a good person and Toni doesn't matter kind of killed me. And this is officially the episode where I am annoyed with Leah. All that crap with losing the medicine bag, I mean, come ON. I'm still not sure who the other operative is, but I think it is either Dot or Shelby. The argument for Dot so far is that I think her dad wouldn't have signed her up for this crap unless she was going to get a big payday out of it, and I bet that would only happen if she's helping run the experiment. That's the only way I can see that this trip would result in her being taken care of, like he wanted. Plus, even though Shelby found the bag, she apparently gave it to Dot, and Dot is the one inventorying and taking charge of things the way you would expect someone running this thing to. The argument for Shelby is we still don't know her backstory, she is the one who found the bag that the woman running the project left for the other operative, and Leah has noticed that she keeps disappearing and sneaking around (to report back to home base?). Plus, she seems more pulled together than Dot at the moment; I feel like, as desperate as Dot was after they didn't have all the medicine, if she had a secret backup phone she would have used it at that point.
  17. I’m impressed by the actress who plays Toni. The difference between her when she’s happy and in love versus angry and self destructive was really striking to me, and I felt for her. I thought the fight between Fatin and Leah was weird. Fatin smearing blood on leah’s face was a weird move and I’m not sure how Leah going to wash up in the water was perceived as crazy. Maybe I’m missing something? so it looks like the parents know this is a secret wilderness retreat but do not know just how extreme it is. So did Dot’s dad also know this is what he was signing her up for? Maybe he figured she would be all right because they watched all those Survivor type shows. But he doesn’t seem like the type to not give Dot a heads up. And assuming all the parents signed off, who signed off for Toni, the foster parents she no longer lives with? I’m assuming they wouldn’t let her mom do it if she doesn’t have custody.
  18. The scene where Dot assists her dad with suicide made me cry. Such a sad and messed up thing to have your kid do. And his big plan to help her includes this retreat, which is a nightmare.
  19. I am surprised by how hooked I am by this. I think the actresses are quite good so far, and I'm intrigued by this weird mystery of what is going on. I agree that the author is creepy, but I'm not surprised that Leah fell for it. She's young, she's impressed by his 'genius', she has never been made to feel special like this before. I suppose this is how these sorts of relationships happen. I imagine some people might get irritated by how hung up on him she is, but I felt for her. A person like that can really mess a teen up. Also, the scene where they are singing P!nk was this weird mix of funny and sad for me.
  20. OK I watched the one where Pradhyuman goes to the life coach to help him be ready for marriage. The life coach starts talking about the things women feel apprehensive about when it comes to an arranged marriage, and says whether they will be attracted to the guy is one of them, and Pradhyman is like "really? Girls care if a guy is good-looking?" I laughed. It was really funny to me that this guy apparently didn't think that women care if the guy is good-looking or not. I really wonder what sort of person he would be if he were not so wealthy and good-looking. I don't dislike him or anything, but this genuine surprise struck me as so funny.
  21. Oh man I feel for whoever winds up with Ashkay. Not only is he completely under his mother’s thumb, the poor bride would have to live with the in- laws. Honestly, meeting the whole family together makes sense to me if that’s the usual living arrangement- you really are marrying the family. And that mother-in-law would give me hives! On top of that, Ashkay seems to have no personality. I mean, he says he has felt a sort of falling in Love feeling with movies or projects - what movie or project? Please describe a single interest other than your mother! Aparna is a difficult personality, but I felt for her. I also thought the matchmaker came in looking to take her down a few pegs before she even opened her mouth. Like that weird negging thing where Aparna said she’s a lawyer and the matchmaker is like ‘oh in India it’s bad for a woman to be a lawyer.’ Or giving her a Look when Aparna said she doesn’t cook. I think Aparna has tried so hard to be successful that she never really became happy, which makes her sort of short and judgmental with people. I think unhappy people sometimes resent happy ones.
  22. lol of course Jane has been a boss for all of a week before she had inappropriate romantic feelings for one of her subordinates. *headdesk* And I agree, I think Kat is going to wind up sleeping with/dating the conservative lawyer. And it looks like Oliver will get an actual romantic storyline with his ex! Yay! God I missed this show - this ridiculous world is just what I needed right now. I am so glad it's back.
  23. Superman was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster while they lived in Cleveland. Cleveland is very proud of this fact. So much so that I, a Clevelander, was genuinely surprised that everyone didn't know this XD. https://www.smithsonianmag.com/arts-culture/cleveland-the-true-birthplace-of-superman-56671378/
  24. I think it's interesting that people who are convicted of crime are executed on the next year's purge - are they kept in jail until then? They are using prisoners to feed this messed up appetite for murder, which, considering how badly we treat prisoners in the real world, is sadly not completely out of left field. I was particularly struck that the only choice prisoners get is whether they are going to be part of the auction, in which case their loved ones can get 5% of their 'price'. It's really awful. I wonder what happens to the non-auctioned prisoners - are they just let loose on the street to be purged? Given away to NFFA-approved groups? I'm kind of irritated by the way the frat boy's plot is going. I feel like either NFFA has turned the country into a surveillance state where they will catch every little infraction, or half-crazed frat boys can stumble around and murder an innocent strawberry farmer undetected. Both of these things should not be true. And if this is a whole season of the frat boy just becoming more and more unhinged, then I am really not looking forward to his storyline.
  25. I 100% believe that the frat guy will be wearing that freaky GOD mask next Purge
