  1. I believe they used to have a fling back in the day. I also believe it was hot, fast and ended with a few gunshots. But I'd love to see them together in action when one is not being possessed. He's like a blond Nathan Drake.
  2. I handwave this because Ichabod has always been a Witness and thus Fate made it possible for him to witness all these events and meet all these people.
  3. OK, so if Regina gets to rewrite the book and have her happy ending... Would that mean she'll go into the pub to meet her One True Pixie Dust Love Robin before he met Maid Marian?... And from that moment on she'll never cast the curse, hence Emma will grow up in the Enchanted Forest, never meet Neal and never have Henry = Regina will cancel a part of her own happy ending. But on the other hand, apart from Regina/Henry and Regina/Robin scenes, it was a pretty decent episode. Hook knows Rumple better than Belle (ha!), Emma gets really angry when someone tries to hurt her love and dad, Elsa is adorable whether with Kristoff or Killian. The Dairy Queen is kind of a conundrum - was that an ice castle she was projecting? Is that a Genosha-type thing now, if she's like Magneto? Is Emma her Xavier?...
  4. I must watch this scene again, bacause I saw only constipation... Sorry.
  5. Just a little side note triggered by me reading some tumblr posts on how Outlaw Queen is romantic. I just hope I'll never have the opportunity to be in a romantic relationship with a person who considers OQ romantic. I know I sound harsh. But let's face it, justifying the person you love for doing bad things (whether she's been murdering villages and raping town sheriffs or hitting you in the face with a kettle) is not a sign of a healthy relationship. From this moment, anything goes. I get it, people change. And a mass murderer can (supposedly) change because of love (Draco in leather pants tv trope, anyone?). I'm pretty sure I would have shipped Regina with her True Green Pixie Dust Love IF it wasn't a relationship that needs to break apart a family in order to happen. Do the showrunners really want to send a message that it's ok to be happy even if you have to break a family apart? A family that used to be happy before the curse, not a twisted cursed version of the family David had with Abigail. Should kids and young adults consider this appropriate and justified? Tumblr shows me they do... I'm really shocked.
  6. Way to ruin my childhood hero, showrunners. I used to dress up as Maid Marian, to have an imaginary Robin Hood by my side. Guess i should have dress up as the Evil Queen... Robin really came across as a douche. When he was about to perform anact of TLK on Marian he looked: - repulsed, - constipated, - scared. And only the 'scared' expression can be valid. He should have been afraid his kiss won't work and he's going to demonstrate that in front of all these people (who are, let's face it, judging him). The confesion of loving "another" over one's almost-dead wife is not the smoothest talking I've seen. I guess it was supposed to be sweet (some tumblr's posts alert me towards this notion and I'm pretty sure I should consider Regina and Robin's scenes as romantic).
  7. I wonder if the lack of Ana(stasia) from Wonderland (Will's True Love, to those who never watched the show... here's a visual aid: (image from http://bloodyhell-darling.tumblr.com/)) so, the lack of Ana is due to the fact that having two Ana's (Anna and Ana) would confuse the audience? And thus the story of Will and Ana will continue once the Frozen gang packs up and sails off to Arendelle... which is probably in a state of anarchy right now.
  8. Perhaps this car accident will be the thing that triggers Emma to ask Hook out. Near-death experience (well, the second in two days...) can do that to a person.
  9. The only hope I have is that once she becomes the Canary, she'll go to fight crime in some other city. Please... Let that be the case. And let them make another spin-off - that no-one will watch). As for the story-arch bringing Oliver and laurel closer... I can see this as Oliver seeing how the need for revenge burns in Laurel and destroys her from within (maybe she'll return to alcoholic ways, maybe she'll try to jump his bones in drunk haze and he'll push her aside...). Knowing how vengance can ruin one's life, Oliver will try to save Laurel from this fate - cue a lot of angst. Bonus points for her mistaking his efforts for love - the scene from season 2 when she thought Oliver wanted to spend the night with her and he bailed out is still my favourite :) What can I say, I love them in the comics, I hate them in the series.
  10. The thing is, Katie Cassidy was quite good in Supernatural as Ruby. Not bad in Harper's Island. Here, she's not memorable. When I think of Laurel as a character, I see a lot of abandoned storylines: - Laurel loves the Hood, but hates Ollie -> dropped - Laurel is torn between Tommy and Ollie -> dropped - Laurel helps Thea -> dropped - Laurel wants revenge on the Hood -> dropped - Laurel has drug / alcohol problem -> dropped ... Yup, no plotline stuck for longer, which made the character really inconsistant. Reminds me of a colleague I had at work that couldn't do anything, but she was liked by the boss, so he kept pushing her from one job to the other in the company. She went from analyst, though coach, human resources to PR. And that's laurel, all right: from Black Canary tease (Dinah Laurel Lance!) to love interest, from alcoholic to hot-shot lawyer helper... And neither part is convincing.

    S03.E01: The Calm

Russia is probably going to be featured in Season 4 ;)
  12. I completely forgot about that Laurel / Ollie kiss with the light (and awkward hand-work). Must be the indicator how much I care... Anyhow, I have been thinking (again), and thought of yet another reason why Olicity seems to be treated seriously by TPTB of Arrow and may have elevated to the endgame couple of the series... You've all made excellent points, quarks made a great post and I agree with it all! And the yet another reason i though of was the direction of this episode - it was easy to make the whole Olicity date and subsequent hospital kiss into a blunder or a comic relief. And yes, the date itself was a bit of a comic relief, but still it remained anchored in serious confessions. The kiss in the end of the episode worked well in the romantic department - both characters were into it and both felt good, even if the outcome was sad. And here a scene from the film 27 dresses comes to my mind: . If Olicity was treated as an afterthought, or a mere stepping stone towards Laurel / Ollie romance, the writers could have made them kiss and decide it doesn't work. Instead, they made them kiss, realize it's what they really want, but take a step back. I'm actually looking forward this season's romance, if it has Ollie realizing that he can be both the Arrow and Oliver Queen - and that he's willing to be both for Felicity. He should also understand that it's not nice to force a decision on the woman he loves ;)
  13. Laurel kind of reminds me of how the writers on Once Upon a Time perceive Regina ;) Bold and audacious, even ruining peoples' lives. On a completely different but relationship-connected note... How well was the kiss shot? ending with the light? Yes, heavy symbolism is heavy, but it was still pretty. I don't think there was any other kiss filmed like that on Arrow. Period.

Oliver is still awfully messed up, and I'm sure being with him in a relationship right now would involve dealing with a hot mess and sudden outbursts of man-pain. He's also pretty apt to shut down these emotions and go into professional mode - which happened after the kiss and Barry's call. I don't know what Oliver was expecting from Felicity in their last scene. He was telling her he really loves her but he cannot be with her - so what does he expect? That she'll wait and hope in vain? Let's not kid, he's bound to comfort Laurel now... Naturally, neither Ollie nor Felicity could have known about this shocking revelation, but... A sidenote: rooftops seem to be quite dangerous. I don't think our heroes should be meeting in such open spaces.

I read The Song of Ice and Fire and watch Game of Thrones. I'm used to characters dying. This, combined with my cold indifference towards Sara from the very beginning (I preferred her to Laurel and that was it), resulted in my quite positive reaction towards the episode. I'm not upset Sara is dead, but I am upset Laurel will now take the center stage. In the first scene with Oliver and Laurel I noticed her hair was a bit lighter, blonder. I thought then "Oh, she's getting closer to the Canary". Now she will probably take the mantle and add "Black" to the name (oh, the colour of mourning, oh, woe is me Laurel). Yet frankly, Sara was living on a borrowed time. She was bound to get fridged, sooner or later (I though she would just disappear, but they took the more permanent method). Perhaps the writers will one day realize that Laurel is not too popular (or maybe she is? I don't know, but my dislike for her is so great I am biased). I am also an Olicity devotee. And this episode only strenghtened my feelings. I don't know if it's just the way Stephen and Emily play their characters, but what I saw was the beginning of something beautiful (albeit it was put on the backburner). To see Oliver, a serial womanizer, bumble in front of a girl, was a sight to remember. And he remembered the color of the pen! (awwww!) Still, Oliver was the person to blow everything to pieces. I'm glad Felicity walked away. I have hope they will get back together once Oliver gets through his man-pain (sara's death will not help him in this respect...). If only Laurel would stay clear of his romantic orbit... Ray Palmer, on the other hand - a charmer, a creep. But I love Brandon, he made a nostalgic Superman and I think this creation will be... atomic.
  16. Oh, kitticup, you do have better ideas than these writers. My strong devotion to the beginning of Supernatural would say: Chevy 1967 Impala. Black.
  17. I don't even like Regina, but to my understanding, she's not moping because her boyfriend of two days found his long-lost wife. She's angry and sad because she has just lost her only chance on having the romantic love of her life with her. If she took Tink's words by granted, a man with the lion tatoo was her soulmate - and she just had this soulmate ripped out of her hands (due to her own rash actions in the past, nevertheless. And I'm not talking about the Marion thing. I'm talking about their first encounter that Regina decided to skip). In this manner, Regina is mouring not what she had, but what she could have had. I just wish the writers would stress that more and maybe Lana would act more on this notion, not on the fact that there was "a breakup".
  18. I loved that line. Was really shocked when it came out. Elsa, you're cool! Keep that up.
  19. Almost no Regina makes this episode a hundred times better than the previous one. Even with the mop-of-the-week wig and ice decoration taken straight from a school production of Frozen. I have made peace with the fact that watching this show means not paying attention to CGI and setting. They are both sub-par. But it's like watching a play in theatre: you know this is all fake, this is all setting and light and it's supposed to be menacing but it isn't, because paper-mache is seldom menacing. Watching this episode I didn't see any drama, and very little danger. But it's ok. I know I was supposed to feel it, just like in a theatre. - - - Let me just say here: I love Captain Swan. Everything Captain Swan was perfect, even the champagne reference at the beginning because - I get it - Hook is sort of frustrated. I'm not sure they got to watching Netflix at all! Anyhow, his initial frustration quickly turned into horror, as he realized this sarcastic words might have been the last words he actually spoke to Emma. I really felt his fear in this episode. David kept his cool better (pun intended, ha!), but David is an optimist (now, he wasn't that in the flashback... maybe it's the hair). I kind of hoped Snow would react to how Emma ws slowly thawing out in the living room CUDDLING WITH HOOK.. Alas, Snow once again failed to act mothely towards Emma... Heck, she even didn't act like a friend. Poor, poor writing. (Another poor writing? the Regina part of Snow's rant. Yes, sure, the peasants are bad, the Evil Queen was right all the time... U-uh) - - - I don't know how I feel about Elizabeth Mitchell's character and the fact she apparently has been in Storybrooke all this years, giving out ice-cream. If not, perhaps we should get a quick into like Leroy saying "Let's check this new ice-cream shop down the street, it's not like we had this streak of cold weather recently..." If the Snow Queen Senior had been here all the time, what has she been doing? Inventing new flavours?... - - - Final remark: Bo Peep the Warlady was so campy I loved her! And I loved her present day persona. Plus the way David and Hook worked togather to bring her down.
  20. "Do i look like a gypsy to ya?" Oh, Murtaugh, in some light you actually might... But jokes aside, it was a lovely episode. I had tears in my eyes a few times. I love/hate getting emotional over a tv show... Frankly, I adore asynchronous narration - it leaves some blanks to be filled and hightens the tension. As a book reader (but not a fanatic, I don't mind the changes at all), I like when I'm surprised. And I was. When I saw "consultant: Diana Gabaldon" in the crddits, i had a vision of Diana sitting behind the camera during the love making scenes and interrupting: "Sam, put your arm higher. Higher! No, Cait, look, I'll show you how it should be done..." (sorry. I couldn't help myself...) I always wonder how do the actors refrain from giggling throughout scenes like these. It's uncanny. Also, i kind of needed a shower after watching the last two love scenes. Sam's got the smoulder perfected. I was never into blonde guys, and now look at me: Alexander Skarsgard, Sam... I'm lost! The scene with Dougal was necessary, i think. Claire needs to know she's not perfectly safe with the Scots. Also, it's not that all Scots are good and all English are bad. Dougal would want her for his own, but no strings attached. On the other hand, Rupert and Angus were like everybody's drunk cousins at a wedding: blurting stupid jokes, giving stupid advice, but also being totally adorable in the morning. As a cat person, I clapped at the scene post the opening credits.
  21. I'm still an old romantic, I'm holding out for Audrey/Nathan. I'm thinking it was the real Audrey that woke up after Nathan's kiss. And perhaps that would be the key to bring her back?... I know, it's awfully cheesy, but that's why i love this show. It's not afraid of these absurd plots. It take sthem and runs away with them laughing. Love it. It's really bad to sleep with Duke on this show, isn't it? Insta-death (or disappearance). Poor Jennifer. I really liked her. Still not sure if it's someone from the gang closing the 'Thinnies' or is it the creature from the other side. Which probably took somebody's appearance... Now I'm speculating, don't mind me.
  22. I kind of like Claire's voiceovers. It's as if she was writing her own mental diary. Look, she has nobody to really talk to, so she's talking to herself ;)
  23. I got the impression that Jamie was at first very surprised to see Dougal didn't threw the punches. It seemed that the game was supposed to be brutal, but not that much. Also, he got himself beaten two times and on the third, final confrontation, he chose the less offensive moves (tackle, over-the-shoulder body swing) instead of purely aggressive 'bat to the head / gut' move that Dougal was practicing.
  24. Well, it was a very nice... frame. And just to drive the point home, here it is: courtesy of http://outlander-starz.tumblr.com/
  25. The only thing I'm still missing from the book are Gaellis' remarks that Colum's son is in fact Jamie's. I kind of regret they dropped this point.
