  1. Just my opinion, but I think they went too far the other way in changing the voting. Having the voting stay open overnight was ridiculous, but they could/should have changed it to where voting ends, say, 2 hours after it airs(ends) on the west coast. That way, everyone who wants to vote(especially those who prefer to actually see the dances they are voting on) gets the opportunity to do so.
  2. James Van Der Beek is currently on Dancing with the Stars, so...
  3. I guess I'm getting old-I have never heard of Ninja.
  4. Group B: Ladybug-Vanna White was the name that popped in my head because of the spin wheel, but I don't think it's actually her. Rottweiler-Well, that was a surprise! Dang, he was really good! After the original clues I thought it might be Snoop Dogg, but now I don't think it is. I'll agree with the judges that it's probably a boybander. I have no ideas about either Tree or Ice Cream <shrug> What do they do if there's a tie in the smackdown?
  5. Just watching now, and want to get my thoughts in before I see any results, so here goes... Group A: Butterfly-Nice way to open the show. I'm thinking she's an older soul singer, but no idea who. Egg-Shaun White immediately came to mind when I saw his size and the skateboard, but I don't think he's that flamboyant. Johnny and Adam are good guesses. Thingamajig-I'm thinking he's an Orlando Magic Basketball player who has four titles(or rings), but I'm too lazy to do the research on that right now. Whoever he is, I'm impressed. Skeleton-Dana Carvey, Mike Myers, and Martin Short all immediately came to mind during the package.
  6. Once again, late to the party(as I always will be because I watch on delay), here are my thoughts on tonights episode... First off, what was up with the opening segment? It was stupid. Now, on to the dances... James/Emma-I really like James. His enthusiasm and energy is infectious, fun to watch, and he makes me smile. I enjoyed this dance. Also, his flexibility is impressive. Sailor/Val-Technically, it looked ok, but IMO it lacked feeling. Ray/Cheryl-Clunky and weird. I don't think he will last very long, and no, Carrie Ann, he was not fun to watch. Ally/Sasha-I don't know what to say about this one, it was kind of meh. Scores were too high <shrug>. Mary/Brandon-She missed some steps and there didn't seem to be a whole lot of energy, but she is 75, so... Lauren/Gleb-Again, meh. I want dances that make me feel something, and this one didn't. Sean/Lindsay-Definite improvement over last week, but still kind of "steppy" instead of "flowy". Karamo/Jenna-Not bad. Lost body contact in places, but overall it was good. Kate/Pasha-I liked this one. I am liking Pasha as a pro so far, he seems to be a really good teacher. Kate may be a dark horse. Kel/Witney-Other than that weird move at the end, I thought it was good. Lamar/Peta-While he seemed to be more relaxed and having more fun tonight, it still wasn't very good. Disclaimer-I write my comments down before I listen to the judge's comments 😂 Hannah/Alan-As much as she annoys me(not sure why, as I don't watch/follow the Bachelor/ette stuff, so don't really know anything about her), this dance was nice. Thank you, Alan, for having better hand placement during the comments. I'm not sure I agree with Len on who he picked to save, but whatever. Ray won't last very long.
  7. I haven't seen that about Adrienne, but I have seen a lot of speculation that Raven is the Black Widow. Every time I see y'all suggest Michelle Williams, I think of the actress...
  8. Yay, it's finally back(and holy crap, there are a ton of comments already that I won't read until after I post)! Before I get to the dances, I have to say that I am glad that they seem to be going back to their roots, and having more focus (and the lower scores back) on/for technique, and that we will get to see two dances before someone is eliminated. Curious as to what the elimination twist will be. Now, on to the dances... Hannah/Alan-Not bad for the first dance. I don't watch/follow any of The Bachelor/ette shows so I don't really know who she is, other than hearing her name before. Slightly OT, though, Alan's hand needs to move down a little bit(placement during the comments). Kel/Witney-He seemed a little stiff, missed a grab(or two), and at times there was too much space between them. All that being said, he seems to have potential, and we will see if he improves through the season. Kate/Pasha-Well, at least she seemed to be having fun. The dance was kind of clunky and awkward. Lamar/Peta-I think Lindsay would have been a better pro for him-she seems to have a knack for working with the taller celebs. This dance wasn't very good, Carrie Ann's smoking something again <shrug>. Lauren/Gleb-Wow, is it just me, or is she kind of annoying? I did like the dance, though, I think she did a good job on it. Sailor/Val-Poor Christie! 😞 For 3 days' practice, Sailor did a decent job. Shut up, Val! Let me just say, I love Tom! Karamo/Jenna-That was fun, he was having a good time, but I agree with the judges on this one. Who thought that rolling chairs would be a good idea for CA and Bruno?! It will be interesting to see if that changes next week! 🙂 Ray/Cheryl-What did I just watch? That was...not good. Mary/Brandon-Hmm, I guess I didn't see what the judges saw on this one. I wasn't impressed. Ally/Sasha-The dance was full of energy. I thought she did a decent job. Sean/Lindsay-Well, it wasn't completely horrible, and good for Lindsay for wanting to form her own opinion on him. James/Emma-I am currently watching Don't Trust the B**** in Apt. 23, and I have to say that I love his self-depreciating sense of humor. This was hands-down my favorite dance of the night!
  9. Ooh, that's a good one, too! And props to you on the radio station thing. It could be any (or none) of them! 😂
  10. For me, Eagle's clues immediately brought to mind either Steven Tyler or Axl Rose, but would either of them actually do this show? Could the Leopard be one of the other Pussycat Dolls? Fox-Deadshot? Will Smith? But again, would he do this show? Flower-I got a racing vibe, and she's female, so here's a way out there guess-Danica Patrick? Rottweiler-Here's another way out there guess, but Snoop Dogg? (He's known to be a perfectionist, so...)
  11. I had noticed, just never thought to comment on it.
  12. I think I might be done with this show. Boredom is outweighing entertainment, and I still can't figure out how some of these acts are supposed to be able to headline a Vegas show.🤷‍♀️
  13. Thoughts on this episode... Well, I thought it was better than last week's episode, but that's not really saying much. Gabrielle-Holy side-boob, Batman! I spent the episode hoping there wouldn't be a wardrobe malfunction. Charlotte-I agree with the judges on this one-while she has an amazing voice, the song choice was horrible. Nick and Lindsay-WTH was that?! So many things wrong... Chris Klafford-I couldn't understand half of what he was singing, and if he was singing about his grandmother, then some of the lyrics were somewhat awkward, imo(thank you closed captioning). Marina Mazepa-Way too much going on in the background, and I'm with Simon on this one-it was kind of boring. Robert Finley-I enjoyed his previous songs more <shrug>. That being said, he is an inspiration, and I really enjoy his personality and energy. I hope he makes it through. The Sentimentalists-Why the hell were they given a wild card spot? Their act drags and is not entertaining. Ryan Neimiller-He's funny, and I like him and his self-depreciating humor, but I think he needs to start mixing it up a little bit. V. Unbeatable-I have to say, they are pretty impressive. Joseph Allen-I didn't see his audition, and this performance did nothing for me. Light Balance Kids-Wasn't great, wasn't horrible Tyler Butler-Figueroa-Another one whose audition I didn't see. What was the purpose of him standing on the piano? As far as I could tell he played well-kind of brought Lindsey Stirling to mind. Ndlovu Youth Choir-I have to admit that I got tired and FF'd through this one. Maybe I'll go back and watch it tomorrow...
  14. InternetToughGuy, we seem to follow some of the same shows and your commentary always amuses me, so thank you for that. Count me among those who thought that Benicio was a girl until I saw his name(I didn't see his auditition show-this was the first time I had seen him). I am relatively new to this show, and I am confused/bothered by one thing. The winner gets a headline show in Vegas, right? So I look at the auditions as "is this something I would want to see/listen to for a complete show?" and with that being the case, I don't see how some of the acts went through(opera girl) while others(Victor) didn't. <shrug>
  15. Duo Maintenant should have made it to the lives.
  16. Yes to all this. I mean, why do I bother getting invested in a new show anymore, when they're never given a chance? In this day and age of watching on delay via Hulu or other sites, real time ratings shouldn't matter as much as they used to.
  17. I don't think I've ever been so happy to be able to FF... IMO, Laine is more marketable to AI, so once Madison got knocked out I figured he would be the winner. I do have to say that I'm surprised Madison was third, I honestly thought she might win. Am I the only one that isn't really impressed with Alejandro's lyrics? To me, Millennial Love was millennial crap, but maybe I'm just showing my age <shrug>.
  18. Out of the top 5, those were the three I saw staying. I don't usually care for Alejandro, but I actually enjoyed his first two songs tonight. As far as his third song goes, his piano playing was impressive. I've finally figured out what bothers me about Laine, besides the fact that he doesn't open his mouth when he talks. When he sings, his eyes look vacant and he almost seems to be bored while he's performing. I was happy to finally see Madison show some emotion/connection with her last song. I'm not going to comment on Wade and Laci's performances as it is now irrelevant.
  19. Caleb Lee Hutchinson was the runner-up to Maddie Poppe last season. He's the one that did the duet with her on Disney week this season.
  20. Random thoughts... This was not Madison's best night, plus the pony-swishing during her first song got a little annoying after a while. What is Lionel's thing with jackets? Creepy audience guy is creepy. Why were they making him a focal point through the night? He kind of reminded me of Jim Carrey from the Dumb and Dumber days. I didn't care for Alejandro's version of White Rabbit, and of course he does an original for the showstopper round <eyeroll>. I've grown tired of his schtick. What was the criteria for the showstopper round songs, anyway? They mostly seemed like regular songs to me... Wade finally found a song that works with his voice. I just still don't get what everybody else seems to hear when Laci sings <shrug>. Jeremiah's song choices were...interesting. I think that hurt him, along with the fact that Idol has just never really seemed like the right platform for him. Laine's first song was forgettable, but Johnny B. Goode was fun and I thought he did good on it. Katy needs to grow up. Her antics are very tiresome.
