  1. Damn it! They finally got me invested in a couple, and then kill one of them off! Ugh! RIP Ripley 😞
  2. Not even 5 minutes into this episode and I wanted to turn it off, but I'm too damn stubborn so I saw it through. Really wish I hadn't, I don't need/want a fictional TV show to hit me over the head with hot-button political issues. I know that Grey's has a history of doing this, but this episode seemed to be extra heavy-handed about it. As other posters have stated, Meredith could have done the surgery pro bono if she felt that strongly about it. Tom is a gem, and I hope he sticks around(though not necessarily with Teddy). They are wasting Alex, he needs a good storyline.
  3. Ok, here goes... Upper Division: Derion and Madison-I wonder what their score would have been if they had pulled off the last trick...Out of the three acts, I liked their routine best, except for the oops at the end. Poppin' John-A very close second for me to D&M(I have to admit here that I am not a big fan of popping, so ymmv), but I would have put him first because he didn't mess up. He also seems to be a good guy, from what I've seen, and I like his personality. Briar Nolet-Too much gymnastics, didn't really care for this routine. The song didn't seem to fit, either <shrug>. Junior Team: Crazy 8's-Maybe I'm cold-hearted, but I am over the selective mutism storyline. I agree with the poster above that is calling BS on it. I mean, it's been 4 years, and now you decide to talk to her? Whatever. Also, the dancing itself seemed pretty basic compared to the other two acts. Vpeepz-They deservedly won this division. That was a good, strong, entertaining routine. Dancetown Divas-OK, I am female, but if I never hear the terms "girl power" or "empowerment" again, I will be a happy camper. Don't talk about it, just do/show it, if that's your thing. I was afraid for a second that they were going to edge out Vpeepz, and I'm glad they didn't, because to me Vpeepz had a better routine. Junior Division: Ellie and Ava-Pretty routine, and their synchronicity is impressive. They were the correct winners of this division, IMO. Julian and Charlize-Why did their routine seem really short? Technically good, but I preferred E&A over this one. Kayla-Again, technically good, but I feel like she didn't really connect emotionally. Upper Team: The Heima-Not bad, but not their best, either. Unity LA-I always kind of feel like they are actually the Zak and Ashley show, with backup dancers thrown in. I'm not sure what the judges saw, but I wasn't feeling it. The Kings-Very impressive, but is this World of Dance, or World of Tricks? Either way, I still feel they deservedly won the division tonight. I hope the guy that got hurt is ok. Judge's Save: Of course they didn't reveal it tonight <eyeroll>. They will probably save Unity LA, but, based on total body of work(and future potential), I hope they save either Poppin' John or Derion and Madison.
  4. I don't think it was an audio issue, I think it's just his voice <shrug>. And yes, it was. I agree 100%
  5. Ok, they need to never, ever, EVER do Queen night again! Most of tonight had me cringing. They should have had Adam perform. For once, I was right in thinking that Walker and Alyssa would be gone, although that wouldn't have been my choice. I would have kept Alyssa over Wade or Alejandro, but Walker has made too many bad song choices in a row. Alejandro- for Pete's sake, man, learn the freaking lyrics! As far as the duets go, I knew that Katy was going to imply that Laine and Laci should be a couple. Ugh. However, their duet was probably the best of the four, but that's not really saying a lot... I still like Madison, but I agree that she needs to connect more emotionally. Laine seemed to have trouble with breath control. I didn't hear Wade mess up the lyrics, because I just couldn't force myself to listen to the whole song. For the first time ever, I had to ff through a couple of performances tonight.
  6. I'm really liking Mina And Austin, the actors have good chemistry with each other. Nic's been so stupid in so many ways the past few episodes, I don't blame Conrad for walking. I thought that Devon was hung up on Julian. Not so anymore? Here's what I'm thinking--weird anesthesiologist chick is going to drug Devon's drink with the leftover painkiller that she didn't give squirrel guy. Why was she even the one to administer that, anyway? They are ret-conning Bell too much.
  7. Finally got caught up... Add me to the Vic and Ripley train, I like them. I also like Dean and Travis. Sullivan is kind of growing on me. Andy can go jump in a lake, although I'm afraid the show is going to put her and Sullivan together.
  8. I wish Funkenometry had stayed purely for their entertainment value-they made me smile and laugh during their routine, which I appreciated. Fuego Dance Crew was cocky, arrogant, and annoying. I'm glad they're gone. Radiance-"We deserve to be in the top 3". No, no you don't. I feel like the judges gave you high scores purely based on the emotional factor of the piece. I would much rather have had Exiles stay over you. As I mentioned before, I prefer good routines that are fun and entertain me, not sad, depressing ones.
  9. Some interesting song choices tonight... Uche-He's definitely a performer and entertainer, but his vocals aren't strong enough for this show, IMO. Laci-I don't know what it is, but I don't care for her. Her voice isn't bad, it just doesn't do anything for me, either. Alejandro-Good Lord, enough with the falsetto already. I feel like he's trying to get by on being kind of quirky-not sure how far that will take him. Alyssa-That was good. I'll be surprised if she doesn't make it through tonight. Katy's antics are really beginning to annoy me. The stuff with the seafood was just gross. Lea Michele-I could do without the filler and have them just shorten the show, thanks. Wade-He just showed that his voice is limited to certain kinds of songs. Dimitrius-My first thought was "wth is he wearing?!" When I saw his outfit, I thought he was going to sing "I'll Make a Man Out of You" from Mulan. I had to mentally switch gears to what he was actually singing, which took me a second, then I realized he was singing it for his mom, which was cool. Walker-His song choices may be his undoing. This is the second week in a row that I don't think his song choice was all that great. He definitely has potential, though. Caleb and Maddie-I like both of them, but that...wasn't good. Again, could do without all the filler. Madison-I was a little worried about her doing this song so soon after Raquel butchered it, but she did a really good job on it. She's in my personal top 3. Laine-This performance made me smile. Thank you, Rebel, for calling him out on the closed-mouth/lip thing! I think Lionel was right about Laine finding his wheelhouse, but I do wish he (Laine) would quit looking so smug-it's a turnoff. Jeremiah-He has a great voice, for sure, but I still just don't think this is the right platform for him. <shrug> When there were four left on stage, I would have picked Dimitrius over Wade.
  10. In regards to the hair thing, I was blond as a child, but it started getting darker when I was in the second grade, and is now brown with natural blond highlights. Also, one of my daughters had very blond hair as a child, but it also turned brown as she got older. I still hope that Meredith and Deluca are just a fling, and she ends up with Tom. I do think that Owen and Teddy will probably end up together. You know, baby-bonding and past history and all that... I don't get Jo's reaction to the whole thing about her mother. Would she have been ok if she had found out that her mom was broke, living on the streets, or in some other dire situation? If so, why? Why is it such a big deal that your bio-mom has a good life now, especially after finding out the details of how you came to be? Finding out that you're the product of rape sucks, for sure, but she could have had you aborted or thrown you away where you wouldn't be found and taken care of. I don't blame Alex for being irritated and wanting to know what's going on.
  11. I would have kept Ashley over either Wade or Laci, but other than that, I'm good with the top 10.
  12. 🤣 I didn't see your post before I posted mine-didn't mean to steal your line!
  13. I'm extra late to this party this week because I was too busy to watch before now, but I'm going to put my thoughts down anyway. 🙂 Laine-Great way to start the show, but I hope he doesn't totally go down the Elvis road. Evelyn-OMG, that was absolutely horrible! Once again, she butchered one of my favorite songs 😞 . Alyssa-She has an incredibly mature voice for her age. Dang, that was good. Eddie-Not impressed. Can he please be gone now? Riley-Eh, there's just something about her that bugs me... Wade-Oy vey, he's the third singer in a row that I don't care for 😖. Dimitrius-He's an opera singer? Really? Dang. I'm not sure if that's a plus or minus for this competition, but that performance should get him to the top 10. Madison-Wow. So far, the best of the night! Jeremiah-While he definitely has an impressive voice, I just don't think he fits in with this show <shrug>. Uche-He's definitely a performer with a great stage presence. His singing, however, leaves something to be desired. Alejandro-That was weird. I'm not sure how I feel about this one. His voice was kind of over-powered by the music, and he looks like he doesn't feel like he belongs there. Ashley-Another impressive performance for her. I'll say it again-dang, she's good! Laci-On the superficial side again, at least her eyelashes are better. I still don't see why the judges think she's so great, she's just meh to me. Walker-There's just something about him that I really like. I'm not sure about his song choice, though, it may hurt him. If I got to pick the four leaving it would be Evelyn, Eddie, Wade, and either Riley or Laci. I want to be able to like this x1000!
  14. I don't get the big deal about Laci. And why is nobody mentioning Madison as a potential top 3? I would take her over Laci any day.
  15. OMG, yes! I hadn't heard this before, but it's hilariously true! LOL
  16. Yeah, I knew I was going to be way off on who was going to be cut. I can't believe Ryan didn't make it-I think the song choice may have done him in 😞
  17. All right, here we go... Alyssa-Well, that was a boring way to start the show. I do tend to forget that she's only 16, because she does have a really good voice and maturity about her when she sings. Eddie-I really like this song. Eddie, not so much. Did he just jump on Lukas' line, or did Lukas come in too early? Oof, that was rough. Wade-While this was probably my favorite performance of his, I just don't connect with him. Ryan-Man, he's got a great voice, but I don't think this song did him any favors. Evelyn-I almost skipped this one because I didn't even like how she sang it at her audition, but I like Chris Isaak, so...should have skipped it anyways. I need to go listen to the real version now to get this out of my head. I hope she gets cut tonight, but the judges seem to like her so that probably won't happen. Logan-He and Julia sounded good together, but he's just kind of forgettable to me. Raquel-She reminds me of someone, but I can't think of who. And who has never heard of Tiny Dancer? I know, I know, I'm showing my age. Vocal runs can be a good thing, but not when they're over-used like they were here. Alejandro-He has a very soulful voice. While this was also a slow song, it didn't bore me like Alyssa's did. It made me want to grab a lighter and wave my arms in the air. Dimitrius-Ok, that was an emotional package. I've kind of been indifferent to him up til now, but man, this was good. I have to agree with the judges that this was the best duet of the night. Jeremiah-Oy, not the right song for his voice, and Cynthia singing with him made it even more obvious. I can see him making it on Broadway, but I don't think that AI is the right place for him. If I had to pick the three to cut, it would be Wade, Evelyn, and Eddie, but that's probably not what's going to happen. Going to find out now.
  18. Ok, taking a quick break to post my thoughts before I see the cut. Walker-He's growing on me. I really enjoyed this performance. Kate-That...wasn't good. And why did Ryan say "great way to kick off the night"? Walker started the night. Riley-They didn't say you sounded like Dolly Parton, they said there was a moment where you sounded like her. Either way, I respectfully disagree. I didn't care for this one too much. Uche-Let's see, Ryan didn't ask Shaggy for his opinion after the song(although I noticed later that he didn't ask some of the other duet partners for their opinions, either), Lionel didn't get to speak, and they played Dead Man Walking going into the break(I LOL'ed at that,,btw). He's probably gone after tonight. Madison-Now that's how you do a duet with Pat Benatar. She just totally showed up Kate, although, tbh, Pat sounded a little rough on both songs tonight. Shawn-Oops. So, who picks the songs, anyway? His voice is too high to pull off his part of this particular song. Not a good choice. Ashley-Damn, that was great! Bumbly-This was probably her best/most memorable performance of hers for me. Laci-Meh. I didn't care for this one. This song, done right, should make me feel something, but it didn't. <shrug> Laine-Not bad, but why didn't they do any of the "yeah-eh-eh's" harmonizing part? That kind of took me out of it. I also have a feeling that at any moment he's going to say "Thank you, thank you very much". I hope that for everyone's sake he doesn't actually go there, but he seems to kind of be pushing an Elvis vibe. Elle King was the weakest/worst duet partner of the night, imo. The three I would choose to go home are Kate, Shawn, and Laci, with Uche and Riley being possibles as well. Uche is just entertaining enough for me to want to give him one more chance. Now to go finish watching and see what actually happened...
  19. Ok, so here are my thoughts on tonight's show... Madison-Should be top 10 easily, she has a great voice and personality. Shawn-I'm on the fence about him. Laine-He's come a long way from last season. His confidence has definitely improved, and his voice isn't bad, either. He should make it through next week. Uche-Is definitely an entertainer, but I'm concerned that too much of him is just schtick. Eddie-Just ugh. I don't know how he made it this far. He seemed to have some trouble with breath control on this one. Hopefully he doesn't make it through. Evelyn-Interesting that they didn't show the judges at all during her performance. Her voice is very breathy and...affected. She just annoys me for some reason. What, exactly, are the judges seeing/hearing that I'm not seeing/hearing? Alyssa-She's another one who's come a long way from last season. I can see her being in the top 10 as well. Ryan-I understand why he chose this song, but I'm not sure it was the right choice for this moment. He might be in trouble. Raquel-Is it just me, or have we not really seen much of her before tonight? That doesn't bode well. Not impressed with her performance to boot. Logan-I'm glad he got clean, and I can see a lot of girls voting for him, but I'm not sure he's got what it takes to make it. Dimitrius-What the hell was with that opera warm-up? Adele was NOT a good choice. Once again, they didn't show the judges during the performance. Should that be telling us something? OTH, after hearing the comments, maybe not. Riley-Not bad, not great. She might make it on the country scene in a few years, but she's not there yet. Walker-Not the right song for him, IMO. He is talented, though, so I hope he makes it through. Bumbly-Another one we haven't seen much of before now. I'm not sure why, because her vocals were ok, but I didn't really connect with her. Ashley-Damn, She's good. Alejandro-Not seeing the appeal, but he'll probably make top 10. Kate-Meh. Not impressed. Jeremiah-He's got a great voice, no doubt, but is he "American Idol" material? I'm not sure I see him going mainstream, but I can see him finding a niche. Laci-Sorry, but I did not like her rendition of this song. Also, on the superficial side, her eyelashes really bother me. Wade-How did he get the pimp spot? The show is really trying to push him for reasons I can't fathom. I don't get it. The six I would hope/want to see leave next week are Wade, Evelyn, Kate, Laci, Eddie, and any one of Bumbly, Riley, or Raquel.
  20. In a nutshell, he can't dance, yet won a competition that is supposedly about dancing ability.
  21. I'm glad Madison stayed over Myra. Drake and Raquel look like they could be related. Drake is sweet, but this performance wasn't good. How did Evelyn make it through? I don't think either she or Kate will make it far in the live rounds. Ok, Wade is an idiot. Besides that, he shouldn't have made it through the Hollywood rounds. What, exactly, do they see in him? He may have an instantly recognizable voice, but it's not really a good voice, IMO. I hate that Bobby brought up his DWTS win, I'm still kind of bitter about that. Not surprised that Johnny Depp, Jr. didn't make it-poor song choice and needed more confidence. Ah, now I remember who Ashley Hess is. Shayy's performance, unfortunately, was not that good this time. Harry Potter(AKA Waldo-real name Walker?)is good, I just don't know if America will connect with him. He's kind of got the Billy Joel thing going with the piano, which personally I like, but don't know if everyone else will. Alejandro. I get that he's an introvert, but if you're going to go on this show and want to be the next "American Idol", then for God's sake open your eyes and at least try to connect with the audience. He brings to mind David Archuleta in that aspect. Between Marge and Eddie, I would have rather seen Marge move on. Tyler will be next year's Laine Hardy. I felt kind of bad when they called both of them together-you knew they were going to keep Laine.
  22. Wow, Jo went supreme bitch right off the bat, which, to me, isn't a good way to get the information you're looking for. The whole thing about all of the women in the hallway bothered me. The last thing I would want as a traumatized person is a bunch of people I don't know looking at me. And how long was Abby's husband supposed to be out of town? I would think that wounds that extensive would take a while to heal. Did she think he wouldn't notice? Poor Alex. I don't like how the show is using him these days. Give the poor man a good storyline already. Yes, "the talk" is necessary, but mixed in with this episode it felt very heavy-handed.
  23. Huh, maybe I'm thinking of someone else. Was she the one that auditioned with Laine Hardy?
  24. Didn't she get the boot during the group rounds?
