Murdoch Mysteries - General Discussion
welnoc replied to The Crazed Spruce's topic in Murdoch Mysteries
I saw an announcement on FB. It was just too much. I didn't feel invested in any of the plotlines because there was just too much going on. I watch tv to relax, I don't want all these complicated stories. -

R.I.P. Norm Macdonald I wonder what will happen with Yaphit? -
Yes! I have ways and means. 😉 And some very good UK friends.

That's my birthday!🥳

Well, Robert McCall had a son but he was only in 12 episodes. He was an ass at the beginning too.

Midsomer is a (fictional) county in England and is therefore comprised of many villages and towns. The murders don't take place in a single village. Causton is the main town and is where the CID is located. There's also Midsome Parva and Midsomer Magna, and of course, Badger's Drift as well as Little Worthy. There are probably a few more too!

If Bradley Walsh is not returning I'm done with it. I never did warm up to the other 2 companions. -
I loved John Nettles too but I'm a big fan of Neil Dudgeon so the change didn't bother me. Have you seen Mrs Bradley Mysteries with the late, great Diana Rigg? Neil Dudgeon plays her chauffeur and they have great chemistry together.

Nicola Walker? Do you mean Brenda Blethyn?

Murder, She Wrote - General Discussion

All twelve seasons are available on Amazon Prime if you happen to have it. I got prime for books delivery but I'm enjoying streaming too and think it's worth the price. Count me in for another who loves the Jessica/Seth dynamic. I keep going back and forth between thinking of them as an established couple with separate domiciles, and them being just very dear friends. I'm not a huge shipper in general because I like kinds of love on the screen other than ust romantic. And I'm a little bit in love with Seth.😘 -
Death In Paradise - General Discussion

All of those men cast in DiP were attractive in their own way. Aren't we supposed to be getting away from a single definition of attractive? I, for one, am tired of the so-called drop-dead-handsome and ripped style of male "beauty". It gets boring.- 863 replies

I loved him! He has his difficulties but he soldiers on anyway. He's good at his job too as, of course, were all the others. Looking forward to the next series whenever it may air. Ruby's growing on me too. -
Murdoch Mysteries - General Discussion

When she first appeared on the show, I couldn'd decide if Shanice Banton was just a wooden actor, or if Ms Hart has ASPD (antisocial personality disorder). I decided on the latter. Makes me question Julia Ogden's psychiatric skills. I'm not a huge fan of Julia and I think she's due for a bit of a comedown. I find her very arrogant and condescending quite often. Having said that, I really don't want to see her having an affair and ruining her marriage. -
There may have been no choir singing but there was singing -the karaoke version of "Love Hurts" with Wayne and Adams was fantastic.

What I don't understand is cancelling Emergence and renewing the tripe that is Evil just a few episodes in. 😕

Carnivale is way back?? I got my introduction to Clancy Brown in Highlander (with Sean Connery) from 1986. Fabulously cheesy and wonderful.

Frankie Drake Mysteries - General Discussion

More and more I want to see the Flo & Mary show. I think Flo would be a gas to hang out with. Trudy seems to barely have an impact these days and I just don't like the Frankie character. -
Her name is Maeve, not Mauve. Maeve ia a lovely Irish name and mauve is a hideous purple, bluish grey colour. https://dailyhive.com/toronto/the-boys-filming-toronto-photos?fbclid=IwAR2ePjxORw9NoGNQrsaILY5z5OvGg02s15DAfwjZYNGyzUTIWHzY_c8a2zE

Dear lord, most of these people have very poor posture! They're going to be hunchbacked when they get old. Winona seems to be the only one standing with her shoulders back.

Death In Paradise - General Discussion

I think the British/French "co-constabulary" thing is because the show is a co-production between Britain and France. I can't remember because it's been awhile since I saw season 8, but I thought that there'd been some expostion about the French oversite of a British Inspector. -

Not for me. Too bubbly muscled and no chest hair.

I do hope you're not suggesting that any female who is the "dominant" partner is automatically a shrew.

I loved Tom and was a bit nervous when I heard he was leaving. Then I found out he'd be replaced by Neil Dudgeon and I was so excited. I have loved him since the Mrs. Bradley series.

Not quite sure what this has to do with my observations? I know Isaac noticed; I watched the episode. That's still one of my favourite episodes.
