  1. Not on a respirator. While were don't ever see him conscious, I'm not sure it is confirmed he was in a vegetative state. A couple of times Cynthia mentions he didn't recognize her, which to me suggests he might have periods of consciousness.
  2. Alright, I'm so sick of them portraying Georgia as having some kind of political acumen that people fall for. Wtf was her word salad nonsense about "Small Business Saturday"? A percentage of the profits will go to the schools? What profits? The profits those small businesses are making? She can't just volunteer them for that. That earned her applause room the group? Are they all gullible morons?
  3. I'm pretty sure the guy banging on the door was the first husband she killed, who she then had the biker gang "disappear" the body and that the private detective is now looking into. Austin's dad was probably already in prison at that point.
  4. How could you possibly not? I want to like her, and I can appreciate a lot of the things she's done are to protect and provide for her kids, but she is HORRIBLE.
  5. Yeah, the "I want my kids to have their own rooms and a yard" was... something. 1. Am I to believe for a second these kids were sharing a bedroom before this? 2. For each to have their own room, you must buy a place that looks like it has about 10 bedrooms? Watching a family obscenely overspend on a house they can't afford, only to then find they are immediately going to spend tens of thousands more dollars on remodeling already beautiful rooms... jfc. No wonder they went bankrupt before.
  6. I'm really confused at how they melted all the gold, silver, and mithril together in one big pot, poured it into molds to make the rings, and somehow 2 came out gold and 1 silver... 🤔 Also, it really feels like they should have an awful lot of this magical alloy left over to make something else with. Nori and Poppi did nothing for me at all.
  7. Holy shit, I'm not even 30 minutes into this, and I already hope Bobby Cannevale gets killed for about 5 different separate reasons.
  8. I get really happy for a second thinking we were done with harfoots at least, then Nori had to tag along. And that goodbye scene, ughhh, I just didn't care.
  9. I would emphatically disagree, but to each their own.
  10. It really isn't at odds with that, though. Matt displayed a sense of humor plenty of times on the Netflix show. Yeah, he was serious much of the time, but the situations he was facing were much more serious and for higher stakes than anything that was happening in this episode.
  11. 2025-27, something like that. MCU jumped ahead 5 years between Infinity War and Endgame.
  12. A lot of people managed to get that impression for some reason. Nah, never got to that. They had their first kiss, Matt went to work, he came back later that day and she broke it off w/ him. Pretty clearly there hadn't been any sex in that period, he was furiously chasing down the Russians, and she was still a mess after having them beat the shit out of her. Editing to add- Let's face it, in the world of TV today, if two hot lead actors are having sex, no way is it happening completely offscreen😂
  13. This episode gets a thumbs up if only for the fact they finally let Matt get laid. The only Defender they didn't let get any(I don't count the flashback w/ Electra from who knows how many years before). Now poor Karen is the only series regular that is left in the Netflix shows that they haven't let have sex.
  14. I know a lot of people will jump to that assumption, but I don't think that's a certainty at this point. In a world that has faced(at least 3) multiple alien invasions, an army of robots, a war between superhero factions, had HALF THE POPULATION snapped out of existence/killed, all the global issues and grief that would stem from that, and then had the Avengers invent time travel 5 years later to bring them back- I'm not sure how big the story is of a local hero who operates almost exclusively in a single neighborhood of New York that takes up less than than one square mile and the crimes of a local business man turned crime boss. Additionally, Daredevil doesn't have any official ties to the Punisher, he gave that collar to Officer Brett and the NYPD, so the general public wouldn't even know he fought and captured him. Most of those events would have taken place 8-10 years ago when the 5 year time jump is accounted for. Factor in that we don't know if he was snapped out for those 5 years or what he's been doing at all in that period, I can't say anything is definite. I would assume they wrote it to be just as such, as to not put the Daredevil show writers into any corners. I would add, that is also how I felt about Kate Bishop not knowing who Kingpin was in Hawkeye. She would have been about 10 years old when Wilson Fisk was making the news, not an age most kids are paying attention to that kind if stuff, and also a world filled with much bigger, more exciting superhero things going on. As she got older, I don't know that a "Whatever happened go Wilson Fisk" story would have gotten a lot of attention with everything else happening in that world.
  15. Jerry paid far the tampered juror himself. Presumably, the fact he was talking to the FBI is what got him killed.
  16. Just curious, in this day and age of hi tech, why is wearing a wire still portrayed as literally taping a big ass, easily found wire and microphone to your body? Is that actually what law enforcement uses? Ignoring that you could probably accomplish the same thing by downloading an app to your phone or a smart watch, you could certainly disguise the equipment as one of those things, or a set of ear buds, or sew it into the lining of clothes, or a hundred other ways of concealing it. I mean, I was asking this question 25 years ago, even then we had good enough technology to hide a listening device better than just taping it to someone's chest, now it just seems ridiculous.
  17. Ok, maybe I missed something, I do zone out a lot watching this show, but are we given any explanation how team Galadriel knows exactly where there is an army of orcs attacking some tiny little podunk town in the middle of nowhere, and is aware that it is happening right at the moment so they have to ride there at full charge straight through the night just to get there in the nick of time? I was under the impression she just had a feeling evil was afoot somewhere in Middle Earth, and something bad was happening in the Southlands(though I'm not sure how she even came to that conclusion), but I have no idea how they knew EXACTLY where they needed go and to get there with the utmost haste.
  18. Halbrand as Theo's father has been a theory? I've been assuming he is secretly Arondir's son since he's been introduced, and haven't given it a second thought. The whole don't look at the wrapped sword hilt/just give it to Theo... that's just too much stupid for me.
  19. Ok, what the hell is this exchange- Gil-Galad- " hey, I CLEARLY already know that the dwarves have found mithril, and your reaction right now is TOTALLY confirming my belief that they have found mithril, but I'm going to keep pestering you to tell me that the dwarves have found mithril. " Elrond- "I absolutely can't break my oath and tell you that the dwarves found mithril! I very specifically promised my friend Durin that I wouldn't tell anyone about how they found mithril! I would be a horrible friend and be breaking my oath if I told you the dwarves found mithril!" Of course, later Celibrimbor and Elrond are debating whether he should break his oath while Celibrimbor is HOLDING ELROND'S PIECE OF MITHRAL!?
  20. I got that impression, too, and it came across kind of weird. Like she was excited to get some one on one time with an office superior who she had some personal interest in. I know that kind of office relationship/romance plot is pretty common to the legal comedy/drama genre, even though it would probably cause a lot of HR headaches in this day and age, but it felt kinda odd.
  21. But they clearly weren't advocating for the most favorable terms for their client as much as they were for the wives. Honestly, Mr. Immortal seemed like kind of like a dumb ass for not firing them.
  22. Ok, I'm finally chiming in in this show. I love anything Tolkien related. I want to love it. I want if to be great, if only to shut down the incessant, tiresome "go woke go broke" crowd. But it's just not doing it for me. I can't get through an entire episode without losing interest at some point. I find myself missing things just because it doesn't hold my attention. Last week seemed like a small step in the right direction. This week, as soon as it opened with the harfoots and those ridiculous bird's nests they wear on their heads, i started to mentally tune out. They feel more like ewoks than hobbits. And the map, ugh. Ok, the ewoks... err, harfoots have just walked a nonsensical lap around Middle Earth, meanwhile 24 hours pass in Numenor. And now the fight scene in Numenor. I'm all for badass Galadriel. And it was nice to see her display at least a slightly different emotion for once. But the fight choreography didn't do much for me. And the logic of that scene... umm? "If you touch her flesh you will be promoted". Immediately, you have guys taking massive, full on swings with live swords trying to remove her head from her body. " Good news, you are now promoted to Lieutenant in this expeditionary force. Unfortunately, the expedition is now cancelled since you lopped the head off of the elf that was leading us into this." And promoting someone due to the fact that while half a dozen men are attacking Galadriel, one if then managed a lucky, glancing blow, seems pretty questionable. I would imagine if would be much wiser to choose leaders based on things like leadership skills. But that's just me. Ok, that's all I got until I can push through the rest of the episode.
  23. Meh, I've heard that argument before, but I've really never bumped up against it. The first time I held my son, it was absolutely a moment of incredible joy, but there was also huge underlying feeling of fear- that I wouldn't be up to the task, of all the things in the world that could harm him, and a thousand other worries about his future. I remember a couple of days later when we were leaving the hospital, my ex-wife and I stopped end looked at each other after we had put him in his car seat and simultaneously expressing our disbelief that they were actually letting us take this fragile little baby home to take care of, neither of us felt qualified. Now, when you factor in that Angel literally had someone hunting him down and trying to kill him when Conner was born(and who might presumably kill Conner as well), I would imagine no matter how much joy Angel felt or appeared to express at that moment, it was FAR from perfect happiness.
  24. They're planning on doing all 10 seasons. They have both really embraced the show and the fandom in recent years, they just needed some distance to move on and do some other things w/ their life for a while. They're hitting the convention circuit pretty hard now, which is especially surprising for Tom, plus the animated project they are pitching and this podcast, they are really all in on embracing Smallville and it's legacy. Obviously, the financial aspect of all that is a big motivation, but they seem to really view the show and their work on it in a positive manner.
