  1. Perhaps the dumbest thing I read in that^ article: Interviewer: "What’s your recommendation for renovators who don’t have all their finances figured out?" Now I ask you, in what alternate universe does this interviewer reside (or anyone else for that matter), that would have him/her think AV would have that answer?!?
  2. I'm a big believer in situational awareness as a safety tool if nothing else, so I will likely never be one to stare at the pavemnt or avoid looking around. Different life experiences breed varying strategies .
  3. I live smack in the middle of (the former, traditional) Big10 territory, and it is amazing to see how exercised people around here are about the new teams. While I do see validity in the argument about travel time, I think that is a strawman argument to some extent. It feels like most are unhappy because different. If the past two and half years have taught us nothing else, they have taught that different waits for no one. With little exception, I root for teams not conferences, though I know others feel differently.
  4. I'm a talker. I'll strike up a conversation with just about anyone. Some are for it, others not. Just have to read the room so to speak. But yes, a smile and a nod to anyone close enough. See no reason not to, frankly.
  5. ABay - You will get through this. You just have to keep reminding yourself that your friend, no, your family no longer suffers. The joy and happiness you had is worth so much more than today's tears.
  6. No, but she's definitely part of the discussion.
  7. Truth This is how yall look with your fake lashes 😄
  8. While you all are growing your own ...
  9. Friends of ours did this. Amazing gal to have an infant, a 5-yr old, and the time and kindness to still do it! Great idea. (Sort of like inviting your neighbors to your potentially loud party, lol)
  10. Dinner was skillet apple cider chicken, and sauteed sweet potatoes w/onions.
  11. Why do you think the term "vegan leather" was coined? To induce folks that want to move away from animal hide. Sounds much more romantic than vinyl or polyvinyl chloride (PVC) doesn't it? Pure marketing. To even use the word "leather" in that case is disingenuous at best, deceptive at worst.
  12. For me, you're looking at this exactly the wrong way. Try to flip it; the more intrviews you have, the closer you are to landing the right job. If your interviewing skills and resume were such a problem, you wouldn't continue to get multiple rounds into these openings. Self-fulfilling prophecies are dangerous. Negativity can spill out of your pores if you let it, and be picked up by astute interviewers.
  13. That's very strange, and I'm sorry for how it has made you feel. I'm willing to bet that neither friend meant to hurt you. Hang tough kid.
  14. Very similar to what DH & I exprienced with Onyx. We knew she was suffering on some level, but not always, and we kept telling ourselves that we would know when it was time. Well, we are now one year on from her death, and we realize that we allowed her to suffer for probably 6-12 months longer than we should have, at least, and it was for us. For our own inability to imagine living without her in our lives. As someone wisly said about euthanasia; one day or week or month too soon is far better than one day or week or month too late. It is the harsh reality of living with a 4-legged family member who for reasons I don't want to understand, can't be with us for as long as we need or want them to be. You have my empathy, sympathy, and whatever peace I can will to you through the bandwidth. You.are.doing.the.right.thing.
  15. Well, now, what was the context of the comments? Were they replying to something you said or was it an out-of-the-blue thing? I'll understand if you don't care to comment further.
  16. Am I the only one bugged by the use of the word "whenever" in place of "when" in this example? Should I be? This has always sounded juvenile and well, wrong to me. malfunction-forces-riders-climb-down-200-foot-roller-coaster-cedar-point
