I actually didn't know Randall directed this. -

I was disappointed in this finale. All that built up leads to Evan’s graduation and no payoff for Eddie himself. He should have said eff this and give two middle fingers to Jessica for being such a harpy all these years. The writers did not let Jessica grow. She devolved as a character. Andy’s criticism of Jessica was the highlight in this lackluster finale. -

I think Bieber will be a telltale sign as to what happens when you age out your teen image. -
I think I could understand where Joaquin Phoenix is coming. I remember buying Gladiator on DVD(before Blue-Ray) and Ridley Scott told a story about Joaquin being weight sensitive about looking like a fat hamster on camera. I felt pity for him because he really seemed sensitive about his weight stemming from his childhood all the way to adulthood. That stuff could take a toll on a certain person, based on appearances in Hollywood. I think he knew he could never replace his brother in terms of good looks and charisma, judging that he was the odd duckling in the family. I believe Joaquin knew his difficulties about growing up in the spotlight, but he seemed to grow up as an artist. You cannot love the actor itself, but his dedication for craft is there for all the world to see.

Betty White and Doris Day were the only ones who did much more than Joaquin. They are strong on their stance against animal cruelty and supporting animal rights. I am not against his stance and I think he is doing a great job of it, but he would have to do much more like these two in order to gain recognition.

I know Bieber was pale, but he did not look good here. I know he admitted to health problems recently, but who are his hanger ons that said that was a good look? It certainly wasn't. He looked aged and tired, despite being in his 20s. -

I feel some sympathy for Bieber. He did have a father who was a big jerk and that might affected his growth as an artist/human being. I remember all the horrible stories about his dad. -

Not all the time. He also voiced Bilbo Baggins twice in the 70s cartoon versions of The Hobbit films before the movies came out. He also had a variety show in the 60s that featured guest stars like Jayne Mansfield and the whole bunch. -

I think the reason Bieber's here is because he is married to the niece of Alec Baldwin. So there is a little family connection there that gets him a pass. Interesting they didn't have him do sketches, but it must be in his contract or something. -

That tattoo on his neck and the pornstache look is so distracting. He looks like he smells, too. -

My mother grew up with Robert Conrad by watching Wild Wild West and she is devasted. RIP, my friend. He had MS, right? -
I remember her from the US version of The Office. I didn't like her character then.

Boy Bands: NKOTB to One Direction, Discuss Here!
Robert Lynch replied to methodwriter85's topic in Music
Speaking of boy bands, did anybody remember 2gether from the early 2000s? It was a spoof boy band that had a movie and a series premiere on MTV. Chris Farley's brother was one of the members and the youngest one had Hodgkins Lymphoma. He also had cancer and his life was cut short during his brief stint with respiratory problems. I think they opened for Britney Spears in one of her concert. Does anybody remember them? -

RIP Mr. Bean. He was great in the small role he did in Equalizer 2 as the Jewish man searching for his sister. It might have been a hackneyed role for him, but he put all his 2 cents into the part with such emotion that you can't help, but root for him. -
Chestnut is the worse character on the show.
-
You know, that probably makes more sense. Were the cast dissatisfied with the pay and wanted a raise?
-
But I was wondering if Jon Voight's politics was the final straw for the head honchos at Showtime? I mean, remember Roseanne's bizarre behavior at ABC and thus killing her character off...that was definitely something the execs had to do. Politics or not, it's a business decision.

I think the show is tired. It is so much to cram in under 20 minutes that it is just became the same repeated formula again. I think the writers never knew what to do with Emery's character. Is he dumb, gay, or just dense? They never really expanded his character as he got older. He was really just window dressing.
