S07.E03: The Cell - Pre-Air Speculation and Live Chat
CletusMusashi replied to halgia's topic in S07
Wait, another new group? Right next to all the other ones? -
I was always pretty good about catching the new episode every week, and I don't plan to stop doing that next season, but now that I'm marathoning the whole thing from the beginning I've got to admit that it's even better this way. For one thing: if you're trying to watch for clues to the mystery, it detracts from paying attention to the characters. But once you know how the procedural aspect ends, you can scan around more and enjoy more of what else is going on. And, honestly, the procedural-only stuff doesn't take up nearly as much of the ep as it feels like the first time. Also, I originally felt there were pacing issues with a lot of the side-characters. But there's a big difference between not seeing a main character for a few weeks or not seeing them for a couple hours. Also, a lot of the early episodes take place literally a day after the last one. Watching them end to end is an easier way to stay in the moment. And when you already know where the story is going, you can see a lot more early seeds being planted. I loved Season 1 when it was airing, sure, but until I started the rewatch I underestimated how quickly the overall story actually progresses.

Tigers are a solitary top notch predator. This means that they habitually kill creatures much, larger than they can quickly finish off. Ten pounds of meat a day ain't nothing when you're eating a water buffalo. Everything after meal number one is rotting. So I would assume that if dogs and pigs can eat zombies, so can tigers. That doesn't mean she'd survive on her own, though. An entire herd of zombies, determined to pile on and chew away at any part they can reach, with no regard for pain or danger, would eventually wear out even a tiger. I think that's also why we haven't seen any bears. Dogs and pigs have the advantage of being social animals, so they can look out for each other better.
-
I wonder if maybe that was literal? As in... they have a daily lottery... and those who get picked become tiger food... and it sometimes actually takes ten people to fill her up.

Rick and Friends should just sneak the hell back to Georgia. Safer for them, safer for the KIngdom. Daryl will eventually escape, kill Dwight, and steal his bike and crossbow back. The one who needs to discover The Kingdom is Eugene, just so he can mass-produce some bullets and bombs for them. Plus, if he tries to become the new dorky comedy relief guy, we can watch his emerging rivalry with the competition: "Hello.. new man." "Hello... Jerry."

I like Zeke, I like the tiger, I don't even mind Karate Kid 4. I suspect all three will be dead soon, of course. Two things I do not like, however, are 1. The very, very annoying choir, and 2. Ezekiel digging through the trash looking for John Travolta's old "Battlefield Earth" wig.
-
I would assume that any scavenger around would have ingested zombies. Dog, possum, pig... they're probably pretty safe unless they eat Daryl.

I kind of wish that this was the town where Maggie went looking for a doctor. Maggie: Ah'm havin' mah babeh... Zeke: See that this woman has all of her needs tended to. Doctor: How far apart are the contractions? Zeke: Contractions? You know I do not use such things. A king must always speak in complete words.

I'm pretty sure he's immune to it by now.

Carol's Wheel Chair is now supporting some very interesting combat modifications. Warning to the next person who sits in it: Do NOT press the red button unless you have to. -

So is the pomegranate thing supposed to be a "forbidden fruit" analogy? If so, does that mean that there is a big "overdone religious symbol" signal flashing into the sky right now so that FPP knows to show up? -

Yes, but if Negan actually shut up then the episode would have been twelve seconds long. -

Morgan's hair? Shit, most of us are still trying to figure out who cuts Carol's! -

You know, since The Kingdom is so solidly into maintaining pre-apocalypse civilization, it would have been fun to see them have a Halloween party. Tiger King could have been The Beastmaster. -

OK, I actually like Ezekiel. Please keep Rick and Company away from him so he and his enormous dire-tiger don't get killed.- 351 replies

Jerry is fun. He's trying like hell to be funny, but he is SO upstaged by King Zeke! Who I suspect about the size of Peter Dinklage, otherwise that is one HELL of a giant tiger. -

Hey, Morgan realizes that "King Ezekiel" is crazy! Good for him. That's progress. -

I expected to be stuck at work late tonight, in which case I figured I'd just catch up on the show... whenever. But I'm out, and I'm home, and I'm almost ready. Didn't have time to buy beer, but I still have some rum left over from September 19th, so close enough. Let's watch this crappy show. -
So... are there still Wolves? Or did Carol murder them all while we were listening to Negan talk?
-
This will be how they finally defeat Negan. Coral will grow to gigantic size and stomp Thugville into the ground. And, yes, his hat will continue to change size with him.
